Jesus advised and warned his supporters to follow his lead, not worship him.

Everywhere he goes, Pope Francis attracts
worshipful crowds of people, straining and reaching to touch any part of
him as if something spiritual and holy could be imparted to them by
doing so. People weep, they cry, they hold up their sick children and
beg him to touch them in the hopes they will be healed. Pope Francis has
no power to perform any miracles of any kind, yet the throngs of people
come and worship at his feet as if they were in the presence of Jesus
Himself. How does the Pope react to all this attention, does he tell
them that he is only a man and then point them to Jesus? No, he does
not. Francis allows them to pay him homage, and accepts their worship as
 if that was his due.
A congressman stole the water glass Pope Francis was drinking out of during his address at the White House on Thursday.
Representative Bob Brady, a devout Catholic and
Democrat from Pennsylvania immediately made his way to the podium after
Pope Francis finished speaking and grabbed the glass that was still
filled with water. He then drank the water, gave some of the water to
his wife Debra, and saved the rest for his grandchildren. Representative
Brady took photos as well, and had his staff send them out to the
press. He also shared some of the water with members of his staff and
assistant, also a devout Catholic. As for the saved water, he plans to
sprinkle it on his grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
That is insane! Why would anyone want to do
that? Drinking after someone else you don’t know is disgusting, but
thinking that “sprinkling the water” on your grandchildren imparts some
sort of “papal blessing” reveals something else altogether. Worshipping
another human being who openly receives your worship is a spiritual
delusion of the highest magnitude. The Bible says that when the
Antichrist shows up, he is worshipped as if he were very God Himself. In
watching the millions of deluded, adoring worshippers of Pope Francis,
you are seeing exactly the type of reception that the Antichrist will
receive when he shows up.

Biblically, the papacy is the human-sphere Anti-Christ. There is no waiting for the human anti-Christ to appear. Every pope who has existed for centuries has donned that mantle and thinks to take the blasphemous titles and prerogatives to himself which are customary. Read Martin Luther. Read of the other Reformers and the conclusions they came to---from the Bible---concerning the papal power.

(excerpt...)
"A. The "little horn" or kingdom "came up among them" the 10 horns which were the kingdoms of Western Europe (Daniel 7:8). So it would be a little kingdom somewhere in Western Europe.
"B. It would have a man at its head who could speak for it (Daniel 7:8).
"C. It would pluck up or uproot three kingdoms (Daniel 7:8).
"D. It would be "diverse" or different from the other 10 kingdoms (Daniel 7:24).
"E. It would make war with and "wear out" or persecute the saints (Daniel 7:21, 25).
"F. It would emerge from the pagan Roman empire, the fourth world kingdom (Daniel 7:7, 8).
"G. God's people (the saints) would "be given into his hand" for "a time and times and the dividing of time" (Daniel 7:25).
"H. It would "speak great words against" or blaspheme God (Daniel 7:25). In Revelation 13:5, the Bible says the same power speaks "great things and blasphemies."
"I. It would "think to change times and laws." Daniel 7:25.
"Don't forget all these identification points come directly from the Bible. They are not some human opinion or speculation. Historians could tell you quickly what power is being described. These points can fit only one power, the papacy. But in order to be certain, let us carefully examine all nine points, one by one. There must be no room left for doubt."
"Then saith Jesus unto him, 'Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve."'" -Matthew 4:10
