SOMETHING to think about - Most of the surviving Parents are now Deceased.

There are 58,267 names now listed on that polished black wall, including those added in 2010.

The names are arranged in the order in which they were taken from us by date and within each date the names are alphabetized. It is hard to believe it is 36 years since the last casualties.

Beginning at the apex on panel 1E and going out to the end of the East wall, appearing to recede into the earth (numbered 70E - May 25, 1968), then resuming at the end of the West wall, as the wall emerges from the earth (numbered 70W - continuing May 25, 1968) and ending with a date in 1975. Thus the war's beginning and end meet. The war is complete, coming full circle, yet broken by the earth that bounds the angle's open side and contained within the earth itself.

The first known casualty was Richard B. Fitzgibbon, of North Weymouth , Mass. Listed by the U.S. Department of Defense as having been killed on June 8, 1956. His name is listed on the Wall with that of his son, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Richard B. Fitzgibbon III, who was killed on Sept. 7, 1965.


. There are three sets of fathers and sons on the Wall.

. 39,996 on the Wall were just 22 or younger.

. 8,283 were just 19 years old.

The largest age group, 33,103 were 18 years old.

. 12 soldiers on the Wall were 17 years old.

. 5 soldiers on the Wall were 16 years old.

. One soldier, PFC Dan Bullock was 15 years old.

. 997 soldiers were killed on their first day in Vietnam .

. 1,448 soldiers were killed on their last day in Vietnam .

. 31 sets of brothers are on the Wall.

. Thirty one sets of parents lost two of their sons.

. 54 soldiers on the Wall attended Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia . I wonder why so many from one school.

. 8 Women are on the Wall. Nursing the wounded.

. 244 soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War; 153 of them are on the Wall.

. Beallsville , Ohio with a population of 475 lost 6 of her sons.

. West Virginia had the highest casualty rate per capita in the nation. There are 711 West Virginians on the Wall.

. The Marines of Morenci - They led some of the scrappiest high school football and basketball teams that the little Arizona copper town of Morenci (pop. 5,058) had ever known and cheered. They enjoyed roaring beer busts. In quieter moments, they rode horses along the Coronado Trail, stalked deer in the Apache National Forest . And in the patriotic camaraderie typical of Morenci's mining families, the nine graduates of Morenci High enlisted as a group in the Marine Corps. Their service began on Independence Day, 1966. Only 3 returned home.

. The Buddies of Midvale - LeRoy Tafoya, Jimmy Martinez, Tom Gonzales were all boyhood friends and lived on three consecutive streets in Midvale, Utah on Fifth, Sixth and Seventh avenues. They lived only a few yards apart. They played ball at the adjacent sandlot ball field. And they all went to Vietnam . In a span of 16 dark days in late 1967, all three would be killed. LeRoy was killed on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the fourth anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. Jimmy died less than 24 hours later on Thanksgiving Day. Tom was shot dead assaulting the enemy on Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

. The most casualty deaths for a single day was on January 31, 1968 ~ 245 deaths.

. The most casualty deaths for a single month was May 1968 - 2,415 casualties were incurred.


For most Americans who read this they will only see the numbers that the Vietnam War created. To those of us who survived the war, and to the families of those who did not, we see the faces, we feel the pain that these numbers created. We are, until we too pass away, haunted with these numbers, because they were our friends, fathers, husbands, wives, sons and daughters. There are no noble wars, just noble warriors.


Please pass this on to those who served during this time, and those who DO Care.

Mom and Pop Bakery says 'no' to Biden - look what happened!

Good news

Last week the Secret Service walked into a small bakery in Radford, Virginia to ask the owner, Chris McMurray, if he would like a chance at priceless publicity by letting his tiny store, "Crumb and Get It", be used as a photo op for Vice President Biden. Heaven knows, Chris needed all the help he could get. He and his wife had just started the small bakery only three months ago and were struggling desperately to make a go of it with a workload that often required the wife to work 24 hours straight. To the agents' astonishment, however, Chris respectfully but firmly said no. As a devout Christian (who ends each sale with "God bless"), his religious beliefs were at odds with a President who's flatly refused to step foot inside a church (save for photo ops and funerals) since gaining the Oval Office, has just endorsed gay marriage and won't celebrate Christmas but will celebrate Ramadan, etc. Chris was also at odds with that same President for telling small business owners throughout America - "you didn't build that". As Chris explained, he and his wife did build their store and thus weren't willing to it be used for the Obama administration's political purposes.

Result? Though the female anchor of the local news channel freaked out on the air by wondering aloud if Chris didn't realize what trouble he might cause for himself by snubbing the Vice President, the reality had been the total opposite. Chris has been swamped with business. As he told the reporter days later in amazement, the phone has been ringing nonstop with orders from all over the country for Chris and his wife to deliver cookies and cupcakes to homeless shelters, churches and nonprofit groups, etc. And get this, the first orders came from the very Secret Service agents who'd requested the store for the Biden photo op. Not only were the agents not shocked by Chris' refusal, they were so delighted that they ordered cookies and cupcakes for themselves on the spot.

The mortgage task force formed by President Barack Obama to probe misconduct that contributed to the financial crisis will soon take legal action, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said on Thursday.
Schneiderman, a co-chair of the task force, would not say whether cases would be brought against individuals or financial institutions. He also would not comment on whether criminal charges would be filed.
But he said his office would take action and that he expected his federal counterparts on the task force to do so as well.
“We’ll see actions being taken sooner rather than later,” said Schneiderman, speaking in an interview at his office in New York.
The Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Working Group was formed in January, to probe the pooling and sale of risky mortgages in the runup to the 2008 financial crisis. Obama said he was creating the group to “hold accountable those who broke the law” and “help turn the page on an era of recklessness.”

When the DNC came to Charlotte , area churches, 100 of them, offered hospitality, not knowing how much the Dems hate God and would actually boo God at the convention. They had no idea how that hatred would be directed at them and their churches.

The Sunday before the DNC, over 9000 people had come together to pray for the convention. Then, wanting to extend hospitality to the visitors to their city, 56 of the churches set out to “Adopt-a-Delegation”.

They put together gift baskets, featuring Carolina Pralines and a letter, welcoming them to the city and offering assistance in transportation, childcare or spiritual matters.

According to writer, Todd Starnes, The DNC banned the churches from distributing the gift baskets to delegates because, DNC said, the congregations hold values that are contrary to the party platform.

Read that carefully.

David Benham, one of the organizers of the outreach said, “We were just trying to display Southern hospitality”. DNC officials, however, conveyed to city leaders that the Christians would not be allowed to present their gift baskets.

Even the Charlotte Mayor’s office jumped in to tell the churches not to participate, saying that their views on women’s rights are contrary to the platform. That’s right….the same platform that booed God later.

Benham then asked if they could send welcome letters to the delegates. Again, the DNC refused, because, they said, “The churches hold pro-life values”.

The baskets did not contain a single political or pro-life message.

They just wanted to give them regional candles and a welcome letter.

The DNC refused to return numerous phone calls seeking comment.

But it gets worse. When a gathering of 200 Muslims showed up to pray for the convention, the Dems welcomed them with open arms and the liberal media gave extensive national coverage.

It is ironic that this day, in the shadow of that Islamic prayer event, we commemorate the greatest tragedy in American History, when Muslims attacked America on September 11, 2001, brutally killing thousands of innocent people.

Muslims who publicly state their hatred of our country with fierce determination to kill us all and put America under Sharia Law, are welcomed by the Democratic Party while Christians are pushed out of sight like criminals, because they respect life and hold family values.

These are the same democrats who want you to vote them into office to direct the United States of America and every life from beginning to end. It is obvious that we must not let this happen.

What did Congress do in those 40 months? (The House - considerable. The Senate
-nothing, not even a budget nor allowing any House bill to be considered.) A
whole new order must prevail in Wash. DC as a result of this next election! Now
look at these:

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of
transportation and control of highways and seaports.
-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the
communication media.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power,
gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and
farms.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work
brigades under government supervision.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education
and welfare functions.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the of all persons. Postmaster General to
operate a national registration

 -EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to
take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate
communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be
abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland
waterways and public storage facilities.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal
departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued
over a fifteen year period.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency
Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in
times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce
the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to
establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate
penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

-EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to
develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and
distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money
in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also
provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress
cannot review the action for six months.

Feel free to verify the "executive orders" at will... and these are just the
major ones I'm sure you've all heard the tale of the "Frog in the Pot"... you
all comfortable???
Watch Obama's actions, not his words! By his actions he will show you where
America is headed.

. Just this week, Obama has issued a new executive order that seeks to
"harmonize" U.S. economic regulations with the rest of the world. This new
executive order is yet another incremental step that is pushing us closer to a
North American Union and a one world economic system.

Unfortunately, most Americans have absolutely no idea what is happening.
The American people need to understand that Barack Obama is constantly looking
for ways to integrate the United States more deeply with the rest of the world.
The globalization of the world economy has accelerated under Obama, and this
latest executive order represents a fundamental change in U.S. economic policy.
Now federal regulators will be required to "harmonize" their work with the
international community.

The authors, US aerospace company Aurora Flight Sciences, consider the challenge of lifting and releasing 1-5m tonnes a year of sulphur dioxide to altitudes approaching 100,000ft. This would create sulphate particles in the thin air and provide a partial shade to the sun's rays, potentially reducing temperatures 1-2C.

The study... was managed by the leading geoenegineering Harvard University scientist David Keith, one of two administrators of Bill Gates's Fund for Innovative Climate and Energy Research (Ficer) which contributed $100,000 to the study.

By far the most effective way to lift the sulphur, the study concludes, would be to adapt, or to build, a fleet of Boeing 747s aircraft. About 14 of these planes working round the clock from bases on or near the equator, might cost about $8bn a year.

Stop Burning Food During a Drought

Using corn to make ethanol was a bad enough decision as it was. And now, to make matters worse, burning 40% of the corn supply borders on insanity...
For city dwellers and others not familiar with the Corn Belt, field corn is raised during the summer months, then saved in 9-10 months of cold weather to feed chickens, cows, pigs, horses, sheep, etc. If there is no feed for the animals, there is either nothing for humans or the price goes sky high because of a shortage.

It is always foolish for a country to order the burning of its food supply, but it takes a special kind of depravity to do it in the midst of a severe drought. Yet that is precisely what the misguided federal ethanol mandate is doing, requiring the burning of 40 percent of the corn supply at a time of shortages and sky-high prices. If no action is taken, the impact will be another spike in grocery prices next year, as well as devastation for farmers and ranchers attempting to cope with higher feed prices.

The severity of the situation is being expressed across the political spectrum and across the world.

Two Democratic governors - Bev Purdue of North Carolina and Mike Beebe of Arkansas - have officially petitioned the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to grant a waiver from the ethanol mandate, officially known as the Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS). They have now been joined by a bipartisan group of 26 senators and 156 House members.

The head of the Democratic Governors Association, arch-liberal Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley wrote the EPA in support of the waiver: "In 2012, more than 40 percent of the U.S. annual corn supply was to be used to meet the RFS corn based ethanol requirements established annually by the EPA. If you were to exercise your statutory authority to waive the RFS standards for the next year, it would make more than 5 billion bushels of corn available to the marketplace for animal feed and foodstuffs, driving down costs and significantly lessening the financial impact."

A study by professors at Purdue University quantified the price impact, finding that a strong waiver could reduce the price of corn by as much as $1.30 per bushel next year. Gasoline prices would also be lower because ethanol is more expensive than gasoline.

Jose Graziano da Silva, the director-general of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization is also urging the United States to suspend the mandate. In a recent Financial Times op-ed, he warned: "The worst drought for 50 years is inflicting huge damage on the US maize crop, with serious consequences for the overall international food supply." He went on to urge: "An immediate, temporary suspension of that mandate would give some respite to the market and allow more of the crop to be channeled towards food and feed uses."

I seldom agree with the United Nations, but this time they got it right. Burning our corn supply by mixing it generously with tax dollars in the form of ethanol is foolish in the best of times. In the face of a potential global food crisis it is the height of depravity.
