(Kitco News) - The ability to create gold from base materials has eluded alchemists since the Middle Ages, but two U.S. university professors have found a way to produce small amounts of gold using metal-loving bacteria to make the magic.
By combining an artist and scientific quest, the two professors at Michigan State University found that a certain type of metal-loving bacteria can transform high amounts of the toxic chemical compound gold chloride from a liquid into solid 24-karat gold. Their method is unlikely to create a 21st century microbial gold rush as the technique is not cost-effective, one said.
“Microbial alchemy is what we’re doing,” said Kazem Kashefi, assistant professor of microbiology and molecular genetics at Michigan State University.
He and Adam Brown, associate professor of electronic art and intermedia at Michigan State, found that the bacteria, Cupriavidus metallidurans, can withstand concentrations of gold chloride 25 times higher than previously reported by scientists. Gold is found naturally in oceans, on average there is about 5 parts per million dissolved gold in seawater, Kashefi said.
In their research, the two professors used a chemostat, which is a continuous cell culture. To describe simplistically, the researchers said they took a vessel and filled it with about a liter and a half of water. The oxygen was removed and the bacteria and gold chloride were added. They kept adding gold chloride to the water to see how much the bacteria could handle, eventually stopping at 25 times higher than previously researched concentrations. In about a week, the bacteria produced about 60 milligrams of gold.
While the professors haven’t created gold out of thin air, in its liquid form gold chloride is a heavy metal and essentially useless. By using the bacteria, the two men have found a way to change the liquid into a solid, and to do it at the ambient temperature. “The bacteria are capable of breathing gold, just like people breathe oxygen,” Kashefi said.
Not having to use high heat to remove the oxygen was critical, Brown said. Boiling the water would remove the oxygen and concentrate the gold chloride, but that’s a great amount of energy used. By using bacteria, any energy used is low because the microbes do all the bio-remediation, he said.
ART LED THE SCIENCE
Brown’s interest came after researching extremophiles, which are microbes that live in extreme environments, for an art project. That led him to work with Kashefi, whose research focuses micro organisms, specifically metal-reducing organisms. “I asked him, what would it take to put a gold nugget in my hand? That question had not been asked before. That’s where art leads the science,” Brown said.
His artwork using the microbes to turn chemical into gold is called “The Great Work of the Metal Lover.” In alchemy, the “magnum opus,” or great work, was the elusive quest to discover the philosopher’s stone that could turn base metals into gold, while the last name of the bacteria, Cupriavidus metallidurans, means “metal lover.”
In addition to using the living system as artwork, Brown made a series of images with a scanning electron microscope, and using the techniques to create illuminated manuscripts, he applied gold leaf to the regions of the prints where the bacterial gold deposits were found.
The artwork was selected for exhibition and received an honorable mention at the cyberart competition, Prix Ars Electronica, in Austria, where it’s on display until Oct. 7. The art installation is a portable laboratory made of 24-karat gold-plated hardware, a glass bioreactor and the bacteria, a combination that produces gold in front of an audience.
Brown said while their research proves that solid gold can be made out of the liquid gold chloride found in water, it also brings up questions. “What if we could take all the gold out of the oceans? Would we destroy the ecosystem? What economic impact would that have?” he asked.
That question may not need to be answered, as Kashefi said the method isn’t cost effective. “You would put so much money into putting in gold chloride and you’d get very little gold. But what’s interesting is to see that these bacteria can do it in their natural environment,” he said.
People’s reaction to learning about turning gold chloride into 24-karat gold has been eye-opening, Brown said. “Being involved in this project, what amazes me is that you can see people’s true colors. You can see that they’re trying to figure out how they can make gold. People see this and think they can make gold and want to get involved. It’s like a microbial gold rush. Of course, that’s the artist in me talking,” he said.

The NEW Democratic Symbol no more donkey

The NEW Democratic Symbol no more donkey.

This is truly funny....beats out the donkey!

The Democratic Party today announced that it is changing its symbol from the Donkey to a Condom because it more accurately reflects the Party's political stance.  A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of dicks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.

It just doesn't get anymore accurate than that!

THE RESURRECTION OF AMERICA--FREEDOM FOR ALL NATIONS

This is a Repeat Posting Because It Is So Good - LOVE IT!

Gentlemen:
As always, I wish ya'll ( you and yours) a good day.

From reading the recent posts of Mr. Fulford, Tom Heneghan, Mr. McBride and the Iraqi Dinar folks, it appears our freedom may be just around the corner. Because of that, the blind dealer returns to Vegas and plays these cards. These suggestions are based upon the recent posting of Matthew Ward which indicate things will change a little slower than we expect. I disregarded the recent post by Greg Giles as I believe it is not his post. I just hope he is still alive.

(1) The Pentagon Good Guys should tell every freedom fighter to not use the words "martial law" as those words invoke certain thoughts that  have been instilled in our minds for years if not decades. The gals and guys with their boots on the ground are "Freedom Fighters" whom are merely on a "peacekeeping mission".

(2)  It is my understanding that as a result of the NESARA/Farmers Claim Case, many experts in different fields were brought together to determine how to rebuild at least a part of our society. I/We should review their suggestions and maybe get these experts involved again if they are still with us and so desire. Even an explanation of their decisions would help.

(3) I am going to assume that patriotic forces worldwide know the banks and accounts holding the funds of the Rothschilds, Rockefellers and Bushes. I am going to assume these accounts/funds will be frozen automatically. This will cut off some of the funds for their worker ants.  I am also going to assume patriotic forces worldwide know or have a good idea where any stolen gold is located. If not, we will soon find out and the gold will be recovered for the rightful owners. Everyone wants to play by their rules; it is my personal opinion that since they have broken their own rules, so should we.  Enough of their bullshit. They do not deserve any respect whatsoever for what they have done to the world. Also, we are in a situation our world has never faced, so there are no rules which impede the deliverance of freedom and justice.

(4) Once their funds have been cut off, many of their worker ants will jump ship. At that time, we will be able to determine where military action is needed and how quickly US bases may be closed. If China, Russia and the USA can tell the different tribes/religious factions of the Middle East what gifts are in store, that may help relieve discord among these groups.

(5)  I would like to see a listing of all government agencies and their purpose. It appears that the heads of most of these agencies will need to be replaced immediately. The revered of the Rothshild once made a suggestion to have the corrupted leaders in the banking/financial industry replaced by promoting decent people within the organization. I think this idea should be applied to all areas. I think this will allow a smoother transition.

(6) As for the FDA, I think this agency should be divided. One agency for food/food supply and one for prescription medications.

(7) As for our farmers/food suppliers, I/We will need to see the following:
     (a) State by State, the crops grown and acreage/expected production;
     (b) I/We will want to talk to the farmers with very large acreage so I/We can determine their needs;
     (c) For those areas hit by the drought where crops can be saved now, the use of HAARP to supply rainfall;
     (d) The suppliers of organic or ecofriendly fertilizer for their inventory as well as expected production;
     (e) The suppliers of natural seeds for their inventory as well as expected production;
     (f)  For the traditional farmers, I think we should allow them to follow what they have been taught;
     (g) For the organic farmers capable of producing large quantities of food from small acreage enclosed farms, I think we should
          do whatever is necessary to increase the number of enclosed farms to meet demand;
     (h) I/We should talk to Erasmus about his industrial food processing invention as soon as possible. I would appreciate the
          Pentagon Good Guys requesting Erasmus to keep his presentation concise and to the point as I/We will be making many
           decisions at warp speed;
     (i) The executives at Monsanto are immeditely arrested and replaced. All GMO seeds are discarded;
     (j) All Monsanto pesticides are removed from the market;
    (k) All GMO foods are removed from the market. Today there is a posting of the list on Mr. MacHaffies' site, please make sure it is
          maintained;
     (l) I/We will need to know if the miracle water from Istanbul would be beneficial for our crops.

(8) As for our prescription medications:
     (a) The company executives are immediately arrested and replaced;
     (b) The honest scientists in the field will immediately advise us which prescription medications are actually helpful;
     (c) All prescription medications which are harmful will be removed from the market or citizens will be told to take only 1/2 of the
           pill or dosage if possible;
     (d) Those experts knowledgeable in natural cures will provide a list of the conditions and natural products which have proven to be
            the most beneficial in treating the condition;
     (e) Since the gentleman involved in NaturalNews.com has been active in trying to educate the public, I think he should be one of the
           experts we contact for assistance.

(9) As for pollution of our planet:
     (a) I/We will need to know all products/processes for cleaning our air, water and land;
     (b) I/We will need to know all areas with the most pollution of the air with photos;
     (c) I/We will need to know all areas with the most pollution/most dangerous pollution of our waters with photos;
     (d) I/We will need to know all areas with the most pollution/most dangerous pollution of our land with photos;
     (e) Mr. Fulford has brought up the product zeolite on several occasions and I/We will need to know the factories producing this
           product and their production  time/quantities;
      (f) I/We will need to know the other factories which could be brought online to assist in the production of zeolite;
     (g) I/We will need to know  about the miracle water from Istanbul and how the water may assist in the removal/reduction of
           pollution;
     (h) If I am not mistaken, I remember reading a post on Ms Rayelan Allen's site about a product/process that was very effective in
           reducing radioactivity, so I/We will need to know of that product/process.

(10) As for the SEC, CFTC and OITC, the top executives are to be arrested and replaced immediately. Again, we will promote decent people from within these organizations. As I stated years ago, I believe we need teams to constantly monitor the activity of the larger companies trading in these areas.

(11) We will need the Pentagon Good Guys to educate us on the miracle sonic healing cures and how quickly any device can be manufactured and/or duplicated and the technology introduced.

(12) We will need the Pentagon Good Guys to educate us on the medical technology which replaces lost limbs and what devices are used in the procedures so they may be manufactured and/or duplicated,  how more laboratories can be brought online and the technology introduced.

(13) We will need to know if the Pentagon Good Guys have any medical technology for skin grafting for burn victims which is much more advanced than presently available. If so, we will need to know what devices are needed to be manufactured and/or duplicated, how other laboratories can be brought online and the technology introduced.  As the Pentagon Good Guys know, J. R. Martinez is one of my heroes and he deserves first shot among our wounded warriors. He will be even more of an inspiration to burn victims in our military as well as around the world.

(14) We will need the Pentagon Good Guys to educate us on the free energy devices the Pentagon has available and how these differ from any other current devices, including those of the Keshe Foundation.  In any event, I/We will need to know the factories available to produce the devices and how quickly other factories can be brought online.

(15) As for education, I believe we should gather the finest experts/educators in America to rebuild our educational system. We will need those in early childhood development, elementary school development, middle school development and high school development. I would suggest we gather at least 30 of the finest in each of these areas. Since the Pentagon Good Guys have indicated the most effective decision making group is 6 to 9 individuals, the 30 will nominate the 9 and will also review recommendations of the 9 to see if anything further can be added.

(16) If I remember correctly, one of the postings of Mr. Wilcock indicated the Pentagon Good Guys already possess replicators. If this is correct, then I/We will need to know how many and if the replicators come in different sizes. I wonder if one replicator can actually produce another replicator. If there are different sizes, can the larger replicator produce several smaller ones at one time. If so, how many.

(17) For any groups selected to rebuild our Earth and our society, they will stay at the finest seaside resorts and will be pampered beyond belief. The finest chefs and personal attention. They will work through the week and be given the weekend off to enjoy and re-energize.
Since their job is so important to our future and the future of our children, they deserve the perks.

(18) The Pentagon Good Guys should start contacting artists for the design of a medal and removable patch (magnets I guess) for all those that took part in the Second American Revolution/First World Wide Revolution. My suggestion is a fleur de lei (fancy cross) in yellow gold surrounded by burgundy.

(19) I/We will need a vast supply of footballs for those selected to rebuild our Earth as well as our society. Each group will be given a football and told that, for our children, we expect "Touchdown Jesus".

(20) For all our children, which includes my two, my personal thanks to the following people/organizations:
        (a) Christine Lagarde and the warriors of the IMF
        (b) The warriors of American/European Intelligence especially those providing info to Mr. Heneghan (I just love his writing)
        (c) The warriors of Interpol
        (d) The warriors of the UST
        (e) The warriors of the IRS whom are freezing the accounts of W
        (f)  Greg Giles and I pray he is still with us
        (g) Thomas McBride and Peter Howell
        (h)  Eric Schneiderman and his crew of junkyard dogs (sic 'em)
        (i)  Shelden Nidle and his crew
        (j)  Mike Quinsley
        (k) Neil Keenan and his family. I hope all are well. Mr. Keenan: You are one helluva junkyard dog, that's for sure.
         (l)  If I am not mistaken, Keith Scott and Winston Shrout have been assisting Mr. Keenan
        (m) American patriot Drake
         (n) Bix Weir

(21) From Mr. Fulford's latest post, it appears many groups are arguing over who owns what gold. If the gold was stolen, it will be recovered and returned to the rightful owner. If necessary, it is my understanding that through the science of alchemy, base metals can be transformed to gold and silver. If necessary, then that's what we'll do. I humbly request these groups work together and focus on the primary goal at this time, which is the complete and utter destruction of the cabal.

(22) DIRECT QUESTION TO THE PENTAGON GOOD GUYS ESPECIALLY MR CLARK
        When the hell is somebody going to come and pick my damn ass up?

I think that is enough for now. Of course, more will be forthcoming.

May Father Bless And Protect All Of You--Especially The Warriors With Their Boots On The Ground

JPMorgan Chase Profits Over A Half Billion USDollars Off Food Stamps

JPMorgan Chase Profits Over A Half Billion USDollars Off Food Stamps

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Gillian

Govt Slaves | October 3 2012

A new report by the Government Accountability Institute finds that JP Morgan has made at least $560,492,596 since 2004 processing the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards of 18 of the 24 states it has under contract for the food stamp program.

Indeed, JPMorgan’s Christopher Paton told Bloomberg News that food stamps are big business for the big bank:
“We are the largest processor of food stamps in the country…[the EBT program] is a very important business to JPMorgan. It’s an important business in terms of its size and scale…. Right now volumes have gone through the roof in the past couple of years or so. The good news from JPMorgan’s perspective is the infrastructure that we built has been able to cope with that increase in volume.”
While some may be glad that a private company—not a government agency—is tasked with EBT transactions, the GAI report reveals that JPMorgan Chase does not use the same fraud detection systems commonly used by today’s credit card companies.  In fact, federal and state agencies—not EBT processors—are the ones tasked with policing food stamp fraud.

That means EBT processors enjoy multiple pathways to profits that run counter to efficiency and strong oversight.  For example, writes GAI president Peter Schweizer:
Any time TANF recipients withdraw their cash benefits or make balance inquiries through out-of-network ATM machines, the user may incur ATM transaction fees generally ranging from $.75 to $1.50. In addition, most states allow EBT processors to charge card replacement fees. Arizona cardholders, for example, are permitted one free replacement a year, after which a $5 per card fee is imposed. The same goes for customer service calls: After an EBT cardholder exceeds the state’s maximum number of free calls, EBT processors typically tack on a $0.25 per call fee.
By making welfare inefficiency and abuse lucrative, the poverty industry has created a potentially toxic brew of corporate cronyism and government inefficiency that lets food stamp abuse enforcement slip through the bureaucratic cracks:
According to the USDA’s website, the federal food stamp program has “over 100” inspectors to police the nearly 200,000 retailers nationwide that accept EBT cards. For its part, the state of Florida has 63 positions allocated to police over 3 million EBT users. JP Morgan is currently involved in an eight-month pilot project with Florida focused on EBT fraud and abuse. The total staff? Just one JP Morgan employee and five to ten state employees, according to Florida officials.

So how did EBT processors like JP Morgan land its lucrative half-billion dollars worth of contracts?

The GAI report, Profits From Poverty: How Food Stamps Make Corporations Money, says JPMorgan’s political donations to members of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees (who oversee the food stamp program) skyrocketed once the bank entered the EBT market:
Between 1998 and 2002, JPMorgan’s total contributions per election cycle averaged $82, 897. After JPMorgan entered the EBT services market until the 2010 election cycle, their average donation per cycle more than doubled to $215,120…. JPMorgan’s donations to political campaigns also show a clear trend. During the 2008 election, Barack Obama received more than twice the contributions of John McCain: $807,000 for Obama compared to McCain’s $345,505.

Today, one out of every seven people in America receive taxpayer-funded food stamps.

JPMorgan Chase here in the USA Post Office????

[...]  The reality is that JPMorgan (Europa) handles all the welfare payment transmissions for the Post Office. (They’re into this welfare shtick in a big way in the States as well). So JPM has all the details of how much money HMG pays out in welfare benefits, and all  the people on the recipients’ database.

Broker Blair, JP Morgan Chase, and benefits from the Post Office.

Tony Blair, neocon Socialist

Celebrated financial blogger Max Keiser is fond of saying that the nine scariest words in the English language are “I’m from JPMorgan, and I’m here to help you.” He’s probably right, but did you know they are the main partner bank for the UK Post Office? No, I didn’t either.

The reality is that JPMorgan (Europa) handles all the welfare payment transmissions for the Post Office. (They’re into this welfare shtick in a big way in the States as well). So JPM has all the details of how much money HMG pays out in welfare benefits, and all  the people on the recipients’ database.

Hands up all those who think this is a good idea. All those with their hands up, read on.

JPMorgan Chase, the Pirate’s Chief Investment Office in London booked billions of USDollars in losses earlier this year, after several gigantic trades went pear-shaped. In 2011, Bank of England officials raised concerns internally about the riskiness of some JPM practices, although Merv’s pervs didn’t formally alert other regulators. (Nothing new there then). In 2010, the BoE’s finest also became nervous about JPMorgan’s domination of residential mortgage-backed securities in the City.

Only last week, the respected financial site Seeking Alpha suggested that ‘the JP Morgan Chase trading blunder could result in a $100 billion loss, a contagion of its massive portfolio, and even the wipeout of its entire asset base.’

And, um, leave millions of Britons without any welfare payments.

The Pirate’s credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, and currency trading are in turn vulnerable to leveraged hidden bets. “At JPMorgan Chase, we view leverage as a potentially powerful resource,” burbles the firm’s website, but like Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street habituees, JPM is ludicrously over-leveraged….and really hasn’t a clue to the nearest $50 billion how much of its debt is or isn’t adequately hedged.

So what on earth is this Wily ol’ Coyote doing running our dear old Post Office?

Well, you may recall that when Teflon Tony was shoved out of Downing Street by the Caledonian blackmailer resigned gracefully as Prime Minister in 2006, he fairly swiftly became a consultant to…..JPMorgan Chase. Within months, Northern Rock went under and, to save three Labour seats, was bailed out by Alistair Darling, Brown’s Chancellor of the Exchequer. Now, you’ll never guess who lucked into getting the good bit of the bank where all the savings were: JPMorgan Chase, thanks to an introduction from Moral Tone. We the taxpayers picked up Northern Rock, the debt-ridden part that was standing on the naughty step.

In a speech last month, Blair observed that “We need to be on the side of the modern-minded, sensible people”. All along, in fact – as the debate raged throughout the Naughties – he insisted that we couldn’t afford to keep the Post Office going in "its then form". So although Peter Mandelson made promises to the TUC in the mid 1990s that he would keep the Royal Mail a closed shop if they helped get Tony Blair into power, once in power Mandelson demanded they get rid of 30,000 staff.

Ironically, Lady Margaret Thatcher never seriously considered privatising it. Like most people of her generation, she saw the post as one of the bulwarks of the British state — an institution of which the nation could be proud. But Tony Blair had very different ideas.

As part of the softening-up process, Blair propagated the myth that the Post Office was losing money. This simply wasn’t true: in 1999, it contributed £310m to the Exchequer, and had made a profit for every one of the previous twenty-three years. But keen to conform to the new orthodoxy of Thatcherism, New Labour meddled and fiddled and left it in limbo, neither public nor private. Meanwhile, deliveries were slashed, staff numbers were axed mercilessly, and many villages saw their post offices sacrificed in the name of solving an  inefficiency problem that didn’t exist.

Even the bonkers Dacre Mail observed last December that ‘Future generations may laugh with disbelief that we were so attached to our state monopoly. But the Royal Mail’s proud history is a reminder that there is more to life than fat profits for the few.’

One of the few is, of course, Teflon himself. When he joined Jamie's  JPMorgan Chase, the former British PM gushed (my italics):
"It is a great opportunity to be able to contribute to
 the work of JPMorgan Chase. They are a leading company at the cutting edge
 of the global economy, with a footprint in virtually every part of the
 world. I look forward to advising them on how they approach the huge
 political and economic changes that globalisation brings."
Well, one of the huge changes wrought by braindead neocon globalism was an awful lot more folks needing welfare.
The deal between Blurrgh and JPMorgan Chase has been hugely enriching for both sides. A month ago, Blair made $1 million in less than three hours by brokering late night talks between billionaire businessmen trying to save a £50billion mining deal.
And no doubt, when the hour came for the Post Office to get into bed with JPMorgan Chase, Tony was able to oil the wheels and grease the pump. I don’t know  that’s what happened. But isn’t it awful when you suggest such a heinous thing about a former socialist, God-fearing bible-thumper, and everyone’s immediate reaction is that it’s highly possible… not to say probable?

As they used to say in the mail business, “Sorted”.

Obama New Golf Rules

The new golf rules will be in effect beginning September of 2012. Please share with fellow golfers...

President B.H.O. Has recently appointed a Golf Czar.
Major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective October 1, 2012.
This is only a preview as the complete rule book (expect 2716 pages) is being rewritten as we speak.

Here are a few of the changes:
Golfers with handicaps:
- Below 10 will have their green fees increased by 35%.
- Between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees.
- Above 18 will get a $20 check each time they play.

The term "gimmie" will be changed to "entitlement" and will be used as follows:
- Handicaps below 10, no entitlements.
- Handicaps from 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts.
- Handicaps above 18, if your ball is on green, no need to putt, just pick it up.

These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness and, most importantly, equality in scoring.

In addition, a Player will be limited to a maximum of one birdie or six pars in any given 18-hole round.

Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par.

Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player actually making the birdie or par, can that player begin to count his pars and birdies again .

The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes, but the term "net score" will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps of 18 and above.

This is intended to "re-distribute" the success of winning by making sure that in all competitions every Player above an 18 handicap will post only "net score" against every other player's "gross score".

These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf.

Golf must be about Fairness. It should have nothing to do with ability, hard work, practice, and responsibility.

This is the "Right thing to do."

So, please remember; if you shot a round of golf under par, you didn't shoot it yourself. Someone else built that course, and someone else cut the grass so that you could play on it. Someone else built the clubs and the cart. Your part was relatively minor in the big scheme of things.
