Oklahoma Residents Hit by Quakes Sue 27 Energy Companies

Link: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/residents-file-class-action-suit-man-made-earthquakes-43637816

Residents of a town hit by Oklahoma's strongest earthquake have filed a class-action lawsuit against dozens of energy companies, accusing them of triggering destructive temblors by injecting wastewater from oil and natural gas production underground.

Pawnee residents filed the suit Thursday in district court against 27 companies, saying they operate wastewater injection wells even though they know the method causes earthquakes. The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount for property damage and reduced value, plus emotional distress.

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the town of about 2,200 in September and the lawsuit claims 52 more have hit the area since. On Nov. 6, a magnitude 5.0 quake damaged dozens of buildings in nearby Cushing, a town that is home to one of the world's largest oil hubs.

Oklahoma has had thousands of earthquakes in recent years, with nearly all traced to underground wastewater disposal. Some scientists say that the high-pressure injection of massive amounts of chemical-laced wastewater deep in the earth induces the quakes. Regulators have asked oil and gas producers to either close injection wells or reduce the volume of fluids they inject.

Residents and environmental groups in neighboring states have sued energy companies curb or stop similar operations. Quakes in north central Arkansas all but stopped after the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission voted to ban wells for the disposal of natural gas drilling fluids in July 2011. In 2014, a Prague, Oklahoma, resident sued two companies on the same grounds after a magnitude 5.6 temblor rattled her town in 2011.

Two of the companies identified in the Pawnee lawsuit, Eagle Road Oil, LLC and Cummings Oil Company, did not immediately return messages seeking comment Friday. The other 25 companies were not identified in the suit.

The lawsuit claims that companies are showing "reckless disregard for public or private safety," by continuing to operate the injection wells in the area.
"We have clients who don't allow their children to go upstairs because they're afraid the roof will fall in on them," said Curt Marshall, an attorney for the residents. "There's a lot of fear; when is the next big one?"

Marshall estimated that hundreds of homes in Pawnee have been affected by the quakes, sustaining damage ranging from cracks in walls, foundations and storm shelters to short-circuited electrical outlets.

A 2015 study by the U.S. Geological Survey suggested that Oklahoma's industrial activities, such as natural gas and oil production, have caused the sharp rise in earthquakes in the past 100 years.

Despite the criticism of wastewater disposal, Oklahoma oil and gas producers said Friday they are enthusiastic about new drilling opportunities in two recently discovered oil-and-gas rich sites in south-central Oklahoma that don't produce large amounts of wastewater.

The South Central Oklahoma Oil Province, centered in three counties southwest of Oklahoma City, and the Sooner Trend Anadarko Basin Canadian and Kingfisher Counties west of Oklahoma City, are among the nation's largest oil and gas fields.

This wasn’t an election. It was a revolution.

Subject:  Impossible
This wasn’t an election.  It was a revolution.
It’s midnight in America.  The day before fifty million Americans got up and stood in front of the great iron wheel that had been grinding them down.  They stood there even though the media told them it was useless.  They took their stand even while all the chattering classes laughed and taunted them.
They were fathers who couldn’t feed their families anymore.  They were mothers who couldn’t afford health care.  They were workers whose jobs had been sold off to foreign countries.  They were sons who didn’t see a future for themselves. They were daughters afraid of being murdered by the “unaccompanied minors” flooding into their towns.  They took a deep breath and they stood.
They held up their hands and the great iron wheel stopped.
The Great Blue Wall crumbled.  The impossible states fell one by one.  Ohio.  Wisconsin. Pennsylvania. Iowa.  The white working class that had been overlooked and trampled on for so long got to its feet.  It rose up against its oppressors and the rest of the nation, from coast to coast, rose up with it.
They fought back against their jobs being shipped overseas while their towns filled with migrants that got everything while they got nothing.  They fought back against a system in which they could go to jail for a trifle while the elites could violate the law and still stroll through a presidential election.  They fought back against being told that they had to watch what they say.  They fought back against being held in contempt because they wanted to work for a living and take care of their families.
They fought and they won.
This wasn’t a vote.  It was an uprising.  Like the ordinary men chipping away at the Berlin Wall, they tore down an unnatural thing that had towered over them.  And as they watched it fall, they marveled at how weak and fragile it had always been.  And how much stronger they were than they had ever known.
Who were these people?  They were leftovers and flyover country.  They didn’t have bachelor degrees and had never set foot in a Starbucks.  They were the white working class.  They didn’t talk right or think right . They had the wrong ideas, the wrong clothes and the ridiculous idea that they still mattered.
They were wrong about everything.  Illegal immigration?  Everyone knew it was here to stay. Black Lives Matter?  The new civil rights movement.  Manufacturing?  As dead as the dodo. Banning Muslims?  What kind of bigot even thinks that way?  Love wins.  Marriage loses.  The future belongs to the urban metrosexual and his dot com, not the guy who used to have a good job before it went to China or Mexico.
They couldn’t change anything.  A thousand politicians and pundits had talked of getting them to adapt to the inevitable future.  Instead they got in their pickup trucks and drove out to vote.
And they changed everything.
Barack Hussein Obama boasted that he had changed America.  A billion regulations, a million immigrants, a hundred thousand lies and it was no longer your America.  It was his.
He was JFK and FDR rolled into one.  He told us that his version of history was right and inevitable.
And they voted and left him in the dust.  They walked past him and they didn’t listen. He had come to campaign to where they still cling to their guns and their bibles.  He came to plead for his legacy.
 And America said, “No.”
Fifty millions Americans repudiated him.  They repudiated the Obamas and the Clintons.  They ignored the celebrities.  They paid no attention to the media.  They voted because they believed in the impossible.  And their dedication made the impossible happen.
Americans were told that walls couldn’t be built and factories couldn’t be opened.  That treaties couldn’t be unsigned and wars couldn’t be won.  It was impossible to ban Muslim terrorists from coming to America or to deport the illegal aliens turning towns and cities into gangland territories.
It was all impossible.  And fifty million Americans did the impossible.  They turned the world upside down.
It’s midnight in America.  CNN is weeping.  MSNBC is wailing.  ABC calls it a tantrum.  NBC damns it.  It wasn’t supposed to happen.  The same machine that crushed the American people for two straight terms, the mass of government, corporations and non-profits that ran the country, was set to win.
Instead the people stood in front of the machine.  They blocked it with their bodies.  They went to vote even though the polls told them it was useless.  They mailed in their absentee ballots even while Hillary Clinton was planning her fireworks victory celebration.  They looked at the empty factories and barren farms.  They drove through the early cold.  They waited in line.  They came home to their children to tell them that they had done their best for their future. They bet on America.  And they won.
They won improbably.  And they won amazingly.
They were tired of ObamaCare.  They were tired of unemployment.  They were tired of being lied to.  They were tired of watching their sons come back in coffins to protect some Muslim country.  They were tired of being called racists and homophobes (as well as, "deplorables"). They were tired of seeing their America disappear.
And they stood up and fought back.  This was their last hope.  Their last chance to be heard.
Watch this video.  See ten ways John Oliver destroyed Donald Trump.  Here’s three ways Samantha Bee broke the internet by taunting Trump supporters.  These three minutes of Stephen Colbert talking about how stupid Trump is owns the internet.  Watch Madonna curse out Trump supporters.  Watch Katy Perry.  Watch Miley Cyrus.  Watch Robert Downey Jr. Watch Beyonce campaign with Hillary.  Watch.  Click.
Watch fifty million Americans take back their country.
The media had the election wrong all along.  This wasn’t about personalities.  It was about the impersonal.  It was about fifty million people whose names no one except a server will ever know fighting back.  It was about the homeless woman guarding Trump’s star.  It was about the lost Democrats searching for someone to represent them in Ohio and Pennsylvania.  It was about the union men who nodded along when the organizers told them how to vote, but who refused to sell out their futures.
No one will ever interview all those men and women.  We will never see all their faces.  But they are us and we are them.  They came to the aid of a nation in peril.  They did what real Americans have always done.  They did the impossible.
America is a nation of impossibilities.  We exist because our forefathers did not take no for an answer.  Not from kings or tyrants.  Not from the elites who told them that it couldn’t be done.
The day when we stop being able to pull off the impossible is the day that America will cease to exist.
Today is not that day.  Today fifty million Americans did the impossible.
Midnight has passed.  A new day has come.  And everything is about to change.

Report: 700M Android Phones Contain Chinese Spyware

by John Lister on November, 16 2016 at 12:11PM EST

Some cheaply made Android phones are reportedly sending copies of text
messages to a Chinese source every 72 hours. The official explanation is
that international customers have unintentionally received handsets with a
"feature" designed for Chinese users.

A security firm named Kryptowire made the discovery. It found that hidden
software preinstalled in phones was contacting a Chinese server every three
days and passing on details including contacts lists and call logs. The
software also sent back daily updates with the full content of text messages
and location data. (Source: arstechnica.com
<http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/11/chinese-company-installed-secret-ba
ckdoor-on-hundreds-of-thousands-of-phones/> )

How many phones are affected is as yet unclear. One American company, BLU
Products, says it recently updated 120,000 phones to remove the code,
immediately after becoming aware of it. The Chinese company which wrote the
software, Adups, says its code is on around 700 million devices worldwide,
including phones and other Internet-connected devices including cars. The
code also made it possible to remotely search for messages containing
specific keywords.

Code Explained As Junk Text Detector

According to Adups, it was a mistake that the code ended up on US devices.
It says a Chinese manufacturer asked for the code as a quality control tool
to make it easier to track unwanted marketing text messages. (Source:
nytimes.com
<http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/16/us/politics/china-phones-software-securit
y.html

Other than that, Adups isn't giving much detail and won't say which specific
handsets might still be affected. That's particularly problematic seeing as
Kryptowire says the code is extremely well hidden on the phones. It says the
only way it found out about the software was following a lengthy technical
analysis, which later revealed what was truly going on.

Chinese Connection Raises Eyebrows

The code is part of the firmware, which is software that operates the phone
itself rather than individual applications. Normally manufacturers reveal
when they make changes and update to this firmware, but that doesn't appear
to have been the case here.

While this incident is being explained away as a blunder, the fact that the
data is going to China may arouse some concerns. While Adups says it has no
affiliation with the Chinese government, it would hardly be shocking to
discover officials in the country are trying to get hold of communications
data about Chinese citizens, or indeed foreign users.

Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th

Per the original, hilarious post at Disclose TV: "Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder [TARD] is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th 2016, and increasing in severity with passing time. Sufferers of Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder often exhibit pronounced cognitive dissonance, sudden bouts of rage, uncontrollable crying, suicidal ideation, and extreme sadness."

You see, most of us at some point have experienced mild dissociation, which is much like daydreaming or "getting lost in the moment" while working on some art, music project, or maybe even a blog post or article like this. But we warn you, TARD is a severe form of dissociation, involving a mental process that produces a complete and utter lack of connection in a person's feelings, thoughts, actions and even their sense of identity. TARD is believed to stem from a combination of factors that include severe crybaby trauma and a breakdown of normal coping mechanisms – as experienced by a teenager, young adult or even an adult who never matured properly, and who most likely didn't even get out to vote for the Presidential candidate whom they believe, very deep down in their psyche, should have won the election. For just $15 per hour, these traumatized people (or that's what they'd have you believe they are) will literally carry disturbing signs and walk out into heavy traffic, ready to sacrifice themselves "for the greater good" – just like Hitlery would want them to.

Is T.A.R.D. even real?

You may be wondering right now if this form of dissociative identity disorder is even real. Trust us, you're not in this alone. After all, understanding and absorbing the idea of the development of multiple personalities is difficult, even for highly trained experts.

The diagnosis of TARD itself remains controversial, especially among mass media and mental health professionals, with most experts believing that it is really an "offshoot" phenomenon of another psychiatric problem (getting trophies for losing sports during childhood and smiley faces for failing tests).

Look for these typical signs and symptoms of TARD: Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder

How much fluoridated water did you drink during the eight-year Obama tyranny? How many flu shots did you get? Did you eat genetically mutated Frankenfood (GMO) daily? According to the expert diagnosis from the kind folks at Disclose TV, people with TARD are characterized by a "persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again. Individual sufferers often display signs of paranoia and delusion; in acute cases psychotic episodes have been observed. Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder is different from being upset about the results of the 2016 presidential election."

In fact, people with TARD are unable to accept reality, despite irrefutable evidence, and exhibit most, if not all, of the following symptoms:

- Telling others they are moving to Canada

- Fixated on fantasies about the Electoral College

- Protesting an election no credible source contests the outcome of

- Exclamations that "Someone" should do "Something!"

- Acute change in demeanor from pompous and arrogant to fearful and combative

- Claim that anyone who disagrees with them is some combination of racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic and actually some sort of Hitler persona

Understanding and combating TARD

Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder was directly caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. Thanks to mass media in the form of mentally disabled television, newspapers (dumbed down to 7th grade reading level for the sheeple) and online propaganda like CNN, the Washington Post and the Boston Globe, everyone absolutely knew without a shadow of a doubt that Hitlery would win the election. Every talk show exclaimed this hardened fact for months leading up to November 8th. Every single "libtard" was prepared with party favors ready to toast their criminal parasite of a candidate who promised them more enslavement, toxic food, toxic medicine and free stuff for not working.

Currently, in-depth research is ongoing, but TARD appears to correlate closely with the following behavioral and environmental factors:

- Membership in the Democratic party

- Identifying as a feminist

- Currently enrolled in college

- Living in a densely populated metropolitan area

- Massive student debt

- Spotty or non-existent work history

- Hipsterism

Also, according to Disclose TV, the diagnosis of TARD is fairly straightforward. Simply ask the patient if Donald Trump is going to be the next president of the United States of America. Most patients quickly become agitated and most will begin to ramble incoherently, often displaying three or more of the symptoms within a short period of time. The only known treatment for TARD is to get the victim off toxic food, toxic tap water and toxic medicine, and then apply TRUMP adhesives (t-shirts, hats, pins and bumper stickers) to their person in some permanent fashion (using a staple gun or duct tape is preferred).

Patients with TARD are dangerous in large groups, like cows that could trample any resistance to their "charge." Their crybaby "herd" mentality is much like that of vaccine-induced paranoia, where they believe in safety in TARD numbers.

If you have a friend, neighbor, coworker or loved one suffering from TARD, urge them to seek treatment.

Kent Dunn Discusses Child Sex Network among the Elite & Powerful Reveale...

Blindsided by Trump Tweet, UAW Meets With Ford on SUV Plan

  • Union unaware company decided to keep model at Kentucky plant
  • Ford sees Trump pursuing policies to aid U.S. competitiveness
United Auto Workers leaders huddled with Ford Motor Co. executives today after the union was caught off guard by President-elect Donald Trump’s tweet last night he helped prevent another Ford model from going to Mexico.
While the union is pleased Ford has now committed to continue building the Lincoln MKC small sport utility vehicle at a Kentucky factory, Trump’s tweets had suggested that the entire Louisville Assembly Plant’s output was under threat of moving to Mexico. The MKC is built on the same assembly line as the Ford Escape, which outsells the Lincoln version by 12-to-1. More than 5,000 employees are working nearly around the clock on three crews to meet demand for the two SUVs, said Todd Dunn, president of UAW Local 862 in Louisville.
So were Trump’s tweets that there would be “no Mexico” because he “worked hard with Bill Ford to keep the Lincoln plant in Kentucky” misleading?
“I’ll let each individual reach their own conclusions, but the true answer should be clear to anyone,” Dunn said in an interview. “What is important is the transparency between Ford Motor Co. and the UAW. We’re doing a good job and that wasn’t decided in an overnight tweet.”
Ford didn’t inform the union of its long-term plans for the MKC before those tweets went out Thursday night, Dunn said. That’s what UAW Vice President Jimmy Settles, who oversees Ford contract negotiations, and other union leaders were planning to discuss with the company today, he said. Settles and Ford manufacturing chief Bruce Hettle sent a letter to Louisville plant workers Friday promising to meet with them “in the coming days” to discuss the change in plans on the MKC.

Talks With Trump

After Trump’s tweets, the company acknowledged for the first time it had been considering moving production of the MKC to Mexico, allowing the plant to boost output of the Escape, one of its hottest models. After talks between Executive Chairman Bill Ford and the president-elect, the automaker decided to keep building the MKC in Louisville after the UAW’s current contract expires in 2019.
“We had planned to move the Lincoln MKC out of Louisville Assembly Plant,” Christin Baker, a Ford spokeswoman, said in an e-mail, noting the UAW contract signed last year allowed for such a move. "Cuautitlan plant in Mexico was likely the plant for MKC."
During his campaign, Trump was relentless in his criticism of Ford for planning to move all its North American small-car production to Mexico, where wages are 80 percent lower than in the U.S. Ford also builds the Lincoln MKZ sedan at a factory in Hermosillo, Mexico. During the campaign, Trump threatened to slap Ford’s Mexican-built cars with a 35 percent tariff. He also said he would terminate the North American Free Trade Agreement, which lets goods flow between Mexico, the U.S. and Canada without tariffs.

Ford, which has expressed a willingness to work with Trump since he was elected, has been in "constant contact" with his transition team, Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told analysts Thursday. Ford’s change of heart on moving the MKC to Mexico followed those discussions.
“We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the U.S.,” the automaker said in an e-mailed statement after Trump’s tweets.

Bill Ford met with Trump during the campaign in an unsuccessful attempt to get the candidate to stop targeting the automaker, which says it has created nearly 28,000 jobs in the U.S. during the past five years. In his first answer of the first debate with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, Trump attacked the automaker for plans to move production of the Focus small car and C-Max hybrid from a plant in Michigan to Mexico.
“We are everything that he should be celebrating about this country,” Bill Ford told reporters in September. “We pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps, we paid back our borrowings, we are healthy again, we’ve been adding jobs in the U.S. and we are the largest manufacturer of cars and trucks in the U.S.”

Blizzard snarls travel across midwestern US

Link: http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/blizzard-conditions-to-sweep-across-midwest-us/61660654

High winds, heavy snow and localized blizzard conditions caused travel chaos across the midwestern United States late this past week.

After dumping over a foot of snow across the northern and central Rockies on Thursday, a storm with heavy snow and high winds shifted into the Midwest on Friday.

The heaviest snow fell from Nebraska and South Dakota to portions of Minnesota and Ontario, where snowfall totals ranged from several inches to nearly a foot.

There was a sharp variation in snowfall on the northern and southern fringes, where a few miles meant the difference between a couple of inches of snow and more than half a foot.

Blizzard conditions unfolded across these areas as wind gusts in excess of 50 mph howled from the north and northwest.

The combination of heavy snow and high winds led to blowing and drifting snow, near-zero visibility and extremely dangerous travel along area roadways.
Denver received its first flakes of the season on Thursday. The city fell shy of breaking the record for the latest recorded first snowfall of the season. The record stands at Nov. 21, 1934.

The snow resulted in a deadly 20-car pileup along Interstate 70 near Evergreen, just outside of Denver. Parts of the highway were closed at multiple times throughout the evening.
As many as 340 crashes were reported on Minnesota roadways on Friday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Two people were killed and another 37 were injured.
The heavy snow began to wind down from southwest to northeast across the region during Friday night. Sunshine will return for snow removal operations through this weekend.

Pat Caddell: CNN ‘Smearing’ Trump Supporters — ‘They Just Call Everybody a Racist’

Political analyst Pat Caddell told Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM on Friday, “They just call everybody a racist,” referring to CNN. Caddell called the network “outrageous.”

Caddell said, “What they have not admitted is their complicity in Hillary Clinton’s campaign, or their unbelievable bias, and worse, their smearing of people, including Steve Bannon and others so that they could make some political points.”
He laid the blame on having someone from Hollywood like Jeff Zucker running the network. “I don’t think it will go very well if that continues,” said Caddell. “They need to start with, ‘Hey, we did some not very professional things during this campaign,'” he added.
It was CNN’s Donna Brazile who provided questions to Hillary Clinton’s campaign before a scheduled debate.
Caddell said, “They need to start a new, clean effort to inform the American people, not to dictate to them. This is the loss of journalism.”
Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.

Google and Facebook Will Be Arbiters of Truth in the War on "Fake News"

During the election, Americans who were simply looking for information got screwed by the media. The propaganda was so thick and the fake polls were so numerous that people were reeling in shock when Hillary Clinton actually ended up losing the election.  Heck, I was stunned myself, and I had even written an article about my suspicion that the polls were fake.
The establishment media misquoted, edited video clips to tell a different story, and made their bias so blatant that one site even put an editorial disclaimer on every article that mentioned Donald Trump, denouncing him as a xenophobic, homophobic blah blah blah. They created a monster in Trump, and now people are out there destroying cities and blocking ambulances because of it. As Noam Chomsky wrote in his brilliant book, Language and Politics:
You don’t have any other society where the educated classes are so effectively indoctrinated and controlled by a subtle propaganda system – a private system including media, intellectual opinion forming magazines and the participation of the most highly educated sections of the population. Such people ought to be referred to as “Commissars” – for that is what their essential function is – to set up and maintain a system of doctrines and beliefs which will undermine independent thought and prevent a proper understanding and analysis of national and global institutions, issues, and policies.
Despite the bias and the mindless followers breathlessly tweeting every fear-laced, dishonest word, Donald Trump still ended up winning the election. According to Mac Slavo of SHTFplan, that is because of the power of alternative media.
One report after another being disseminated by what left-leaning pundits call “fake news websites” has been confirmed as accurate, proving that there was a concerted effort to stifle open discourse and real journalism.
Hillary Clinton made mention of it in her Deplorables speech, warning that a lot of fake information was being released through purported “racist” web sites across the web.
And if she had her way, no one would have ever read anything but positive information about her, while everything else was disappeared Orwellian-style, never to reach the masses that eventually elected Donald Trump to the Presidency.
What this year’s Presidential election has proven is that alternative media is a force to be reckoned with, and the establishment is scared sh*tless.
But they won’t let it happen again.
War has been declared – a war on fake news.
But guess who they’re really coming for?

Google and Facebook are on a mission to rid the world of “fake news”

But instead of starting with the New York Times, whose publisher basically admitted that their coverage of the election was dishonest, they’re targeting alternative media – the very people who were the ones out there telling the truth during the election.
In fact, in a quote that is rich with irony, the aforementioned NY Times said:
Google kicked off the action on Monday afternoon when the Silicon Valley search giant said it would ban websites that peddle fake news from using its online advertising service. Hours later, Facebook, the social network, updated the language in its Facebook Audience Network policy, which already says it will not display ads in sites that show misleading or illegal content, to include fake news sites.
“We have updated the policy to explicitly clarify that this applies to fake news,” a Facebook spokesman said in a statement. “Our team will continue to closely vet all prospective publishers and monitor existing ones to ensure compliance.”
Taken together, the decisions were a clear signal that the tech behemoths could no longer ignore the growing outcry over their power in distributing information to the American electorate.
Vox agrees that “fake news” is a problem, and cites – I kid you not – an investigation by Buzzfeed to prove their point.
a group of cynical Macedonian hucksters had created dozens of right-wing news sites that publish low-quality pro-Trump news stories. Some are plagiarized from other conservative news sites. Others appear to be totally made up, with headlines like “Proof surfaces that Obama was born in Kenya,” “Bill Clinton’s sex tape just leaked,” and “Pope Francis forbids Catholics from voting for Hillary!”
“Yes, the info in the blogs is bad, false, and misleading but the rationale is that ‘if it gets the people to click on it and engage, then use it,’” a Macedonian student told BuzzFeed.
Other fake news is generated by partisan bloggers taking news tidbits out of context and drawing totally wrong conclusions from them. For example, some confused conservative bloggers misread a leaked email from Clinton adviser John Podesta as evidence that Democrats were manipulating public poll results. In fact, Democrats were using a standard polling technique called oversampling on Democrats’ own internal polls — but that didn’t stop the story from spreading among online conservatives.
Since Facebook has already been busted suppressing trending news if it supported a conservative point of view, it’s no surprise to hear that they plan to do their best to suppress whatever information they want by arbitrarily saying that it’s fake.
Vox feels that Facebook can censor monitor the “truth” through algorithms.
Facebook can also add value at the opposite end of the quality spectrum, by identifying articles that are thoughtful and thoroughly reported (and publications with a track record of producing such articles) and giving those an extra boost in the News Feed algorithm.
An advantage of this approach is that it makes it less necessary to make hard judgment calls about whether a particular article is so fake that it needs to be blocked outright. Low-quality news (whether outright hoaxes or just sloppy journalism) will just naturally get less exposure because people will only see it after scrolling through the higher-quality news their friends have shared.
I’m pretty sure we can all see where this is leading.
You’ll see what they want you to see. It’s already to the point at which most people see very little from the pages they “like” on Facebook. I have more than 25,000 readers on one of my pages and I’m lucky if 1000 people see my posts.

They’ll hit non-approved websites where it hurts.

The goal is to hit the targeted websites where it hurts, in the owners’ wallets.
For example, many independent sites rely on Google Adsense to make a little money. That way, the site can provide information at no cost to you, the reader. And don’t think that we’re raking it in, either – once Google has taken their cut isn’t that much. Running a small website does not make you rich. Here’s what Google had to say about advertising revenue.
“Moving forward, we will restrict ad serving on pages that misrepresent, misstate, or conceal information about the publisher, the publisher’s content, or the primary purpose of the web property,” Google said in a statement. The company did not detail how it would implement or enforce the new policy, which some accuse is the monetary equivalent of censorship.
The shifts comes as Google, Facebook and Twitter face a backlash over the role they played in the U.S. presidential election by allowing the spread of false and often malicious information that might have swayed voters toward Republican candidate Donald Trump. Of course, others have repeatedly accused both Google (which chairman Eric Schmidt’s collaboration with the Clinton campaign was revealed courtesy of the Podesta emails), and Facebook of doing everything in their power to promote a Clinton win, so the narrative is not exactly clear on this one. (source)
As for Facebook, they will disallow ads, which can be highly lucrative, to certain sites.  Fortune reports:
“We do not integrate or display ads in apps or sites containing content that is illegal, misleading or deceptive, which includes fake news,” Facebook said in a statement, adding that it will continue to vet publishers to ensure compliance.
This follows closely in the footsteps of YouTube, which has removed the right to have ads on any content that is “sensitive” or “controversial.” Mac Slavo writes:
The moves by Google and Facebook follow a recent de-monetzation effort at Youtube that has also targeted alternative media. As noted in their “Advertiser Friendly Content Guidelines,” they appear to be targeting exactly the issues often covered by alternative media by directly banning:
Content that is considered “not advertiser-friendly” includes, but is not limited to:
Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown
So basically, anything newsworthy is no longer advertiser friendly, and these organizations will now determine whose news will or won’t be seen based on what is sure to be proprietary algorithms and secretive human curation.
If Google, Facebook, and YouTube have their way, anyone reporting information outside the party line will be considered “fake,” and they’ll work hard to starve out the bloggers, vloggers, and citizen journalists who are providing an alternative point of view.
The bottom line is this: the time and energy required to produce the amount of video content and investigative journalism that we saw during the election is astronomical. Thousands of journalists, bloggers and concerned citizens spent countless hours reporting the news the mainstream media wouldn’t. Many of those people depend on advertising revenue to cover their most basic website maintenance costs, as well as their monthly mortgages and the food they put on their dinner tables.
The aim with policies like this, which will no doubt be overseen by establishment hacks, is to quite literally starve independent media. In turn, they will starve the people of the information they so desperately need to understand what is being done to them. (source)

How do Google and Facebook plan to become the arbiters of truth?

First, let’s define “arbiter.”
ar·bi·ter
ˈärbədər/
noun
plural noun: arbiters
  1. a person who settles a dispute or has ultimate authority in a matter.
“the military acted as arbiter of conflicts between political groups”
    • a person whose views or actions have great influence over trends in social behavior.
      “an arbiter of taste”
Google and Facebook plan to become those ultimate authorities, but they have have not pointed out exactly what they regard as fake news.
I have questions.
  • If it differs with their desired bias, does that make it fake?
  • Will opinion pieces be classed as propaganda if they veer too far from the mainstream party line?
  • Is all subject matter classed as propaganda considered fake?
  • Will all stories about a liberal-beloved candidate like Hillary Clinton be considered a lie if they are critical?
  • Did we actually go to bed in America and wake up in North Korea?
I suspect they’ll work hand in hand with other mainstream sites to villainize those who aren’t playing ball with the team.
When you see the exact same wording repeated over and over, generally it’s a “talking point” that someone has informed the media they are to emphasize. Have you ever noticed phrases like “an abundance of caution” or “for your own safety” getting used over and over? It’s a talking point, and the collusive media is using it as a propaganda tool. Never trust a talking point.
The new talking point is going to be “fake news.”
Here’s an example of someone getting on board the Fake News Train already, but to put it in perspective, it ran right alongside one referencing a “cabinet of deplorables.”
Imagining a Donald Trump presidency pushes the bounds of creative thought, even as it becomes more concrete during these months of transition. Given Trump’s epic disinterest in the minutiae of actual governing – the threat of his authoritarianism is all vindictiveness, no on-time trains – it becomes more important than ever to track the way he staffs the 4,000 positions under his control.
And early signs indicate it will be rife with deplorables.
Now that we have established that blatant bias, US News and World Report felt obligated to provide a list of websites that should be avoided “at all costs.”

I spoke to a representative from one of the sites mentioned, Activist Post, who said:
The establishment seems desperate to regain control of the narrative after independent news outlets on this list appear to have tipped the election to Trump.
We believe that we’re being unfairly lumped in with deliberately fake websites like The Onion in an attempt to discredit alternative viewpoints of current events.

Another list put together by Melissa Zimdars, whose bio says she is ” an assistant professor of communication & media” calls the following websites “False, Misleading, Clickbait-y, and Satirical “News” Sources.”

It’s important to note that the author of the list above recommends some of the most notably biased liberal publications around as trustworthy. She writes:
Some people are asking which news sources I trust, and all I can say is that I read/watch/listen very widely, from mainstream, corporate owned sources (The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes) as well as The Atlantic, National Public Radio, and various local and alternative sources with different political perspectives, some of which are included on this list.
If you thought the propaganda controlling the minds of the masses was bad before, just wait. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
