If you read between the lines on a recent report from American Express, it looks like more Americans are veering away from the traditional bank savings accounts:

A majority consumers say they’ll keep their savings at a local bank (57% vs. 55% in 2014) but more than half of those who keep their savings in cash plan to hide bills in a secret location at home (53%).

This means that 43% of the people who are saving money are not putting it in the bank.  This is good news for those of us who wish people would wake up and see the net being cast around them, but bad news for the banks that depend on deposit accounts to be able to give out loans and earn interest.

Most folks have been trained to keep their savings in the bank.  It’s just the way things have been for over 100 years. But there are a lot of reasons why that is no longer a good idea. For one, deposit accounts are no longer legally protected. As well, the Federal Reserve passed a policy that in the event of an economic crisis (think “bank run) that accounts can be frozen to preserve the liquidity of the banks.

In an recent interview, alternative asset manager Eric Sprott explains why stashing fiat currency in a bank is a bad idea:

In my mind the biggest reason to own precious metals is because of the risks in the banking system… you get nothing for putting your money in the bank… and yet when you have your money in the bank you take on all the risks of a leveraged bank… and I’ve always thought it’s the risks in the banking system that would cause people to go to gold…

Of course, the government has several reasons they’d like everyone to stash their money in a bank account.


1.)   Ease of confiscation

We need only to look at the horrible situation a couple of years ago in Cyprus to see how bank accounts are like all-you-can-steal-buffets for the powers that be.  A suggested theft TAX of up to 20% of the money in Cypriot bank accounts may be levied in order for the country to meet its staggering debts in the terms of the proposed EU bailout.  The banks of Cyprus were loaded with the money of residents and businesses of other countries that have used them as a tax haven.  The banks were closed for several days and frantic customers were left to withdraw the maximum daily balances from ATM machines in an attempt to salvage what they could.

Think it can’t happen here?  I wonder if the people of Iceland, Greece, Ireland, Hungary, Argentina, Spain, and Portugal thought that too.

2.)  Surveillance

The second reason that “everyone should have access to banking services” is the digital trail that it leaves.  Every dime you receive and spend out of these accounts is part of an intricate system of surveillance.  When your money goes into a bank – any bank – Big Brother knows about it.  It’s a simple matter of compiling information via your social security number (or other federally- assigned number) to find out how much you make, how much you have, and where it comes from.  This can be used to prosecute you for tax purposes, to locate you through where your pay comes from, and to follow your personal money trail for a variety of different reasons.

It can also be used to track your spending – Big Brother can find out that you spent $2000 at a gun store, that you purchased online from a prepper supply website, or that you bought some books with “questionable” content in order to paint you as a threat.

3.) Revenue Generation

In 2013, US banks generated a stunning $31.9 billion in overdraft fees. That’s right. They took billions of dollars from people who were clearly financially struggling or they wouldn’t have bounced payments in the first place. This number doesn’t even touch upon the fees you pay to stand in line and use a human teller instead of an ATM, the fees you pay for the privilege of having the bank hold on to your money, or the fees you pay per transaction in many accounts.

If you don’t use a bank, where should you stash your cash?

For most of us, banking is a necessary evil.  Our paychecks are directly deposited. We pay our bills online.  Our mortgage payments are automatically debited.  My recommendation is not to leave in any more money than is required to meet these expenses.  I personally withdraw everything beyond the bills coming out between pay periods.

For the reasons mentioned above, safety deposit boxes are also not a place you want to keep your savings.  If the banks doors are locked, your precious metals and cash are locked in too, and you will have no access until the bank reopens.  In the event of a disaster, that might be a very long time, if ever.

This doesn’t mean to stuff your mattress with bills or to put the money in an assortment of shoeboxes under the bed. Consider investing in one or more fireproof safes.  Be creative about where you hide them, and when you’ve selected a spot, bolt them into the floor. You can get a couple of smaller, less expensive safes and fill them with minimal amounts of money and costume jewelry to serve as decoys. Some people bury PMs in a cache, but if you do this, be very careful to map it out in a way that you’ll be able to find it.

You can also invest in tangible goods like food, firearms, preparedness supplies, property investments, and precious metals.  Gold and silver retain their value far better than the dollar, and the metals are easily liquidated if an emergency arises and it becomes necessary to change them to fiat currency. This being said, metals are harder to spend, and it takes a little bit of effort to cash them in, so it can help deter you from spending unwisely if you tend to have difficulty saving money.

Remember: If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it.

Petroleum company spews "catalyst dust" on residents, offers them $400

Something is not right in Bayou Vista, Texas. On January 13, a notorious oil refinery owned by Marathon Petroleum spewed “catalyst dust” for nearly 24 hours, which coated the lawns, cars, and houses of this small community two miles from Texas City. Residents were not informed what was going on, but eventually Marathon fessed up to the incident and offered residents $400 to wash away the innocuous sounding substance, which is not so innocuous the more one reads about it. Catalyst is used to refine crude oil into gasoline, and can include aluminum, fine sand, and other heavy metals.

Most folks know that “out of sight, out of mind” is not a best practice, and the residents of Bayou Vista are getting fed up with the answers, or lack thereof, from Marathon and state officials about why this happened and what should be done about it. According to a story that appeared more than a month later on Houston Public Media, residents are still reporting health problems associated with the incident. They have begun to dig deeper and are not letting Marathon off the hook. One resident got their hands on what’s called a Material Safety Data sheet, which describes the dangers of the catalyst. According to the HPM story, the sheet describes how “the catalyst should not be flushed down sewers, onto soil, or into waterways. It warns that the catalyst might burn the lungs, cause allergic reactions, and could be a ‘cancer hazard’.”

As residents of Bayou Vista continue to meet and organize, the insoluble catalyst could still be causing problems for families and their pets, who could have easily tracked the substance into houses where testing has not been done. It is also unknown how much of it has collected and concentrated in waterways. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more on this developing story.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York State Senator, now comes under this fancy "congressional retirement staffing plan" which means that, if she never gets re-elected, she STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies. If Bill out-lives her, he then inherits HER salary until he dies. He is already getting his Presidential salary ($20,000 a month) until he dies. If Hillary out-lives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies! Guess who pays for that? WE DO! Clinton's 20 Acre - $11 million - mansion is common knowledge. For her to establish NY residence, they purchased this mansion in upscale Chappaqua, New York.  Makes sense. They are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense. Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments are around $10,000 month, but an extra residence had to be built by the government on the acreage to house the Secret Service Agents. Any improvement to the property is owned by the property owners...the Clinton 's. So....the Clinton's charge the federal government $10,000 monthly rent for the use of the extra residence to house the Secret Service staff, which is just about equal to their mortgage payment. Bill Clinton is the ONLY ex-president to use this loop hole, thus earning the name 'Slick Willie'.     

 

Straight-A College Student Kicked Out Because He Was Homeschooled

Take the recent case of 22-year-old Jacob Berry from Morgantown, West Virginia. His parents opted to homeschool Berry and not too long ago he decided to attend West Virginia’s Bridgeport Junior College, enrolling last fall. After one half-time semester where he received A’s in both of his classes, it came to the campus president’s attention that Berry did not have an official high school diploma. Consequently, he was shortly thereafter kicked out of college.

Via HSLDA:

“Your homeschool diploma isn’t state recognized. We can’t mess with our federal funding by having people with unaccredited diplomas here,” she reportedly said. The president had Jacob called to the financial aid office after class and gave him one day to produce an “accredited” diploma.

The next day Jacob was called out of his lecture and attempted to explain again to the president that his diploma was valid. Ms. Stephens refused to listen and suggested he take the GED. When he attempted to attend his next class, the school sent him directly to Ms. Stephens who kicked him out and informed him that he was an intelligent young man who would do well on the GED.

“It was a shock,” said Jacob. “She signed the letter acknowledging that I had been homeschooled and then kicked me out. It hurts me that she would do that to me. I don’t want to be negative, but I do feel like it was discriminatory.”

Jacob’s parents, Dr. Nathan Berry and Mrs. Cynthia Berry, a woman who reportedly holds a lifetime teacher’s license in the state of Missouri, were also quite shocked, so they contacted HSLDA who attempted to contact the school. Association attorney Michael Donnelly sent a letter to the school’s president informing her that homeschool students self-certify when they complete a home education program, a process that is clearly stated in the federal funding guidelines, but to which the woman apparently refused to respond.

Were it a gender, race, or sexual orientation case, one can only imagine that it would make headlines, prompt court cases and widespread cries of discrimination.

Connect the Dots

Has anyone else noticed whenever TPTB want to further encroach on our freedoms, it's always for our own good? The rising police state was been brought into existence in response to the latest bogey man, those awful terrorists plotting to kill as many Americans in our shopping malls as they can. Apparently the attempts to infringe on our Second amendment rights is to keep some crazy from stealing our guns and shooting up a school. Now the move to force us all to get vaccinations is because of concern for the public health. That is the biggest load of bull I've heard in quite a while.

None of these moves has been for our own good. They have all been to further cement the fascist/socialist takeover of this country. And we actually have people who swallow this crap and then regurgitate it to anyone who will listen. These are the same people who will tell you that our Constitution is an ancient piece of paper, not relevant to today. They think people who question vaccine safety are just ignorant or stubborn and do not understand the science. But what about doctors who oppose vaccinations? Does that apply to them as well, since they surely are not ignorant and do understand the science.? And why do so many doctors who do vaccinate choose to delay vaccinating their own children, space out inoculations and also use the safer vaccines? What do they know they aren't always telling us?

Forced vaccinations have nothing to do with concern for public health and everything to do with control of the herd. Besides the fact that autoimmune diseases have skyrocketed with the increase of vaccines, they are a very handy way to chip the population. Quite a number of years ago he was working on perfecting a hypodermic needle to inject cattle with identification chips. Do you think that technology hasn't advanced since that time? No one can say who will be adversely affected by a vaccine or any other drug, and no one should have the right to force any on you or your children and then claim no liability for your injury or death. There isn't another medical procedure in this country that isn't subject to law suits except vaccinations. Thanks to our wonderful government. What does that tell you? They damn well knew that vaccines are dangerous and are going to cause all manner of problems for people, so they were lining up their protection in advance. How about we find out which congressmen voted to protect doctors and drug companies and sue them instead when we or our children are injured by vaccines? Sounds fair to me.

One of the reasons for the increase in autoimmune diseases is because of the number of vaccinations a child receives long before the immune system has had time to become fully developed. Now the government is wanting doctors to force immunization on their patients? What about our Fourth Amendment rights? Whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath, 'First do no harm'? And what will doctors do? That is just my point. That is what Obamacare was all about. It wasn't to make sure everyone had affordable medical care. It was to bring more doctors under the control of institutions where they have little to no say in how they treat their patients. They will follow the mandates of Obamacare or not have a job. The profession of physician, which used to have some respect and authority in this country has now become just another set of slaves. Eventually you won't be able to find an independent doctor. The paperwork is now staggering.

It takes a fully staffed office just to deal with the paper load. My doctor held out as long as she could but finally aligned herself with the local hospital where she follows a set of rules she had little say in developing. She's glad she's close to retirement age. Her physician husband refused to knuckle under and lost his hospital privileges. He no longer practices medicine.

The next step we will see in this effort to force vaccines on all of us (and it's already happening in some professions) is you will lose job if you refuse. Next you will lose your insurance. I wouldn't be too surprised to see food stamps and Welfare or social security checks denied without compliance to get fully vaccinated. These elite are evil not stupid. Not having to punch a time clock or otherwise keep their nose to the grindstone, they have ample time to sit around thinking of ever increasing ways to subjugate us. Deciding not to take a vaccine or any medicine should be our choice, not the governments/insurance companies/medical institutions.

Every persons life has value but not to the elite. Keep it in the forefront of your thoughts that these power mad slime balls want to depopulate the earth to a more manageable 500,000,000. That's just enough to make their lives comfortable but not enough to overthrow them. Now, while we still have the numbers, is the time for that. So, as this war shapes up in America, each one of us is going to have to ask ourselves if we trust a government that is firmly attached to the Federal Reserve teat and joined at the hip with pharmaceutical companies, to be making health choices for us.

The place to start taking our country back is at the state and local level. The U.S. Congress has been corrupt for way too long, beholden to the 1% and their corporations who pay for their campaigns and therefore, pull their strings. Those few who can't be corrupted are either run off, marginalized or eliminated. Politicians who can't be corrupted are about as welcome in D.C. as a polecat in a hen house. It doesn't take long for new ones to get the drift. Congressmen/women who were investigating potential bombshells found their planes no longer functioned. Ask any remaining family of Paul Wellstone. TPTB didn't mind killing his wife and daughter to get to him. And he isn't the only one. I have more faith in our ability to change things on the state and local level. Then we can work on the cesspool that Washington has become.

The first time I became aware of the Georgia Guidestones I wondered how in the world the elite would ever pull off reducing the world population to 500,000,000. I assumed they would add a global pandemic to their bag of tricks. And the 2009 attempts to start one exposed by whistle-blower Jane Burgermeister I believe was at least a trial run. But many people do not want to be vaccinated, so that would only take out many sheeple who still believe their government has their best interest at heart.
I was not at all surprised to see this latest ploy. I was however surprised and gratified to see the huge groundswell of opposition to mandated vaccinations. Many believe, as I do, that the only person to decide what medical treatment they receive or what medicine they take is them. I pay my doctor for her educated and informed opinion and I listen to what she has to say. But the final decision is mine. Recently one of the doctor's staff (different doc) called to inform me that I had an appointment to see him. I said, “I don't think so. I'm not having any further problems and on my last visit he said just to call him if I had any further problems. I don't need to pay a $50.00 copay for the privilege of a five minute chitchat with him when I'm fine” I was informed that I would come in for one more visit as he always did a six month follow-up. My next sentence was delivered several decibels louder figuring that she must be hard of hearing since she was continuing to argue with me.

This is what we can expect with socialized medicine. The decisions will be taken out of the hands of the patient and the doctor. I for one will not tolerate that. My doctor knows when I schedule an appointment, I'm not there to waste her time or for some attention. I told her the last time, “You know I wouldn't be here if I could take care of this myself.” And she said, “Oh, I do know that.” I even had to sign on as a new patient even though I've been going to her since the seventies, because I hadn't been there for a while. WTH? We are going to find every aspect of our healthcare mandated and if we don't comply, we will be penalized in some way. Perhaps a fine, maybe jail time, depending on what the situation is. Possibly forced 'care' if we still balk. No doctor, no government official should have the right to force medical procedures of any kind on someone who doesn't want them.

If we don't stand together and fight this latest Orwellian move, we might just as well sit down and surrender. Once you submit to mandatory vaccinations, if I am correct about the chipping, you will be at the total mercy of these goons. When you can be remotely controlled, when your ability to buy food or enter your dwelling place or access your bank account or receive needed medicine is under the control of this creeping socialist dictatorship, it is game over.

This is our Waterloo or theirs. You decide the kind of world you want to live in and act accordingly. If we defy them in enough numbers, they will back off...for now. They will, however, continue to see what they can get by with. Freedom demands eternal vigilance. At least until the complete overthrow of this tyranny is complete. Either this planet belongs to the elite or us. There can be no middle ground with people who wish to control the whole world. This latest move is in lockstep with the financial meltdown and the austerity forced on people around the world. When people can no longer grow their own food or collect water, when their every move is surveilled and controlled, they win. Just keep watching that latest mind numbing TV show, borrowing yourself into an ever deeper hole to impress the people you work with. Let your government take over more and more areas of your life. Your FEMA accommodations await you. Your spot at the reeducation camp has been reserved.

Don't fall for the socialist B.S. that all of these unconstitutional laws are for the public's health and safety. The elite couldn't care less about our health and safety. What they care about is power and control. Connect the dots to see the big picture. Outlawing the collecting of rainwater on your own property; or growing your own food; fines for selling homegrown food in some places; outlawing selling shares in beef or dairy cattle to those who wish to avoid the poisons put in both meat and milk; stiff regulations on or outlawing wood burning stoves so poorer people won't have any way to stay warm or cook their food so they will have to move to relocation centers; ever tighter regulations on farming, driving small farmers off the land to make way for the corporate Big Ag farmers; socialized medicine so you will have less and less control over your body and health care; giving schools more control over our children and their education so the next generation will be good little worker bees who won't listen to their anarchist parents; the destruction of our industry and our middle class so more of us are struggling paycheck to paycheck or forced onto the welfare rolls; the change from elected officials at the state and county levels to 'Regions' with unelected officials in charge of every aspect of our lives. This what I see happening all across this country like a slow growing cancer. Wake up America! It is all as plain as can be.

The good news? Ten or even five years ago, if I pointed out things like this, the average persons eyes would glaze over or they'd change the subject or quickly move on so I didn't render them even more uncomfortable by asking them to think! Now, within the last year or two, so many people are waking up, it's hard to find someone who isn't concerned about some aspect of these assaults on our liberty.

That is so encouraging. Thank God for the Internet. That was a serious tactical error on their part. They thought it would just be another tool like TV to keep us occupied, mind numbed and spaced out. Too busy to keep an eye on them. Instead information was shared increasingly. And any move to control or monitor free speech on the World Wide Web now would be seen for exactly what it is. A totalitarian move to clamp down on our freedom.

Let the sheeple who believe in socialism follow these mandates. Let them enjoy their vaccinations and plethora of Big Pharma poisons. Even the brain dead deserve to make their choices freely. They will not force their will on me. Let's get to work to restore our republic.
