The ex-seminarian, who was a teenager at the time of the incident, alleges that the disgraced former Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh abused him after inviting him into his room following dinner for an alcoholic drink. The victim’s solicitor said his client had been left “disturbed” by allegations surrounding the cardinal in recent weeks, which had “brought the past back.” He decided to come forward in the hope of encouraging any other victims to speak out. The claims by the former trainee priest, now married with children, are separate from the allegations that the cardinal “behaved inappropriately” towards three priests and a former priest in the 1980s. Black conservative leaders discuss the reason the NRA was founded and how gun control is an effort to control people.
The Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) hosted a group of prominent figures from the African American community at 9:45A.M. on Friday, February 22nd at the National Press Club to speak out against gun control legislation currently being considered on Capitol Hill.
CURE is the largest black conservative think tank in the nation and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
CURE organized the news conference in response to concerns shared by black conservatives that the Senate proposed laws will restrict their ability to defend themselves, their property and their families. They are also concerned that the proposed gun control legislation puts too much power in the hands of politicians.
"I believe that it is our duty to stand together and challenge the proposals currently on the table in the Senate, which invoke painful memories of Jim Crow laws and black codes," said CURE president and founder, Star Parker. "Black history is rife with government demands for background checks in order to qualify for constitutional rights. All Americans should be concerned."
Star Parker, a nationally syndicated columnist and other noted thought leaders, authors and speakers will make the case against the type of gun control measures President Obama and his liberal allies are proposing. While the group believes that Sandy Hook was a national tragedy, they oppose its use as an opportunity to advance government control and strip any American citizens of their constitutional rights. In the middle of Black History Month, CURE is calling for a serious national dialogue about the impact of gun control on the black community.
"We want to inform United States senators that we will be notifying urban pastors, business leaders and other black voters of their legislators' position on the Second Amendment—especially blue senators in red states currently up for re-election." The news conference is to rally behind the tradition of former slave and great American orator Frederick Douglass who said, "A man's rights rest in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box."

In the early hours of the morning in Europe, the Eurozone and the IMF announced a $10 billion bailout for Eurozone member Cyprus, whose economy is tied closely to Greece's, and who was in a similarly dire state. The details are here. A key angle here is the Russian angle. You may remember that along the way during the crisis, Cyprus has sought aid from Russia, which was unusual. Well the reason for that is that (Island of) Cyprus is a place where Russians are believed to do a lot of money laundering, which involves parking cash in Cypriot banks. What's stunning about Saturday's bailout is that depositors with over 100K euros in a Cypriot bank will see a 10 percent tax instantly before banks reopen on Tuesday. That will infuriate domestic savers, and it will mean that a lot of Russian oligarchs/mobsters/money launderers/etc. will take big hits. This is by design. As C4 economics editor Faisal Islam notes: Sony Kapoor of the think tank ReDefine Europe has this grim take: The pseudonymous @pawelmorski has more in a brilliant post titled Cyprus: A Brutal Lesson in RealPolitik, which concludes that ultimately it's not that bad for Russians. It's basically a one-off 10 percent tax on the money-laundering business, and that actually there's also a smaller tax on account holders with less than 100K EUR, which means it's not just rich Russians taking the burden. And the Russians? The reason small depositors have been hit is that the losses inflicted would be much bigger if a) only large deposits b) only non-EU deposits were haircut. The data on Cyprus deposits is here (MUMs = Monetary Union Members). I would guess the thinking is that 10 percent is seen as a cost of doing business when it comes to money laundering, but 30 percent would probably finish Cypriot banking for good. If the infliction of losses on small depositors has a purpose, it’s probably to reassure the Russians that they are not being discriminated against. Yes, I may have thrown up a little in my mouth typing that. * So: senior bondholders and Russians helped at the cost of smaller locals. There’s more logic here than there appears at first glance — the primary aim of this programme is to hold the European banking sector together whilst having a vaguely realistic programme, not placing another huge bill on the core/Germany not ending the viability of Cyprus as an offshore banking sector. My own judgement is that inflicting costs on depositors in principle is an extremely important one, but that not sparing the small depositor is worse than a cruel piece of realpolitik — it is in fact a mistake. The deal still needs to be passed by Parliament and that's not a sure thing. Ekathimerini has this report: The Cypriot government is now sweating over a possible rejection by the island’s parliament of the shocking set of measures imposed on Nicosia for the eurozone to bail its economy out of a likely default, announced in the early hours of Saturday. The Cypriot government is preparing the bill to be tabled in Parliament probably on Sunday in an emergency session, as everything will have to be voted by Monday night for Cypriot banks to open on Tuesday. In an interview published Thursday by the Daily Beast, Prince revealed how deeply connected Blackwater was to the Central Intelligence Agency, especially in the early 2000s. Last month, federal prosecutors dropped felony charges against Blackwater personnel after it was revealed that the employees had been acting under the orders of the US government. After a three-year-long prosecution, most of the company’s executives walked free and two men received nothing more than probation, house arrest and $5,000 fines.
But the tens of thousands of pages of court documents from the case shed light on an argument the company made throughout those three years – that Blackwater itself was an extension of the CIA.
“Blackwater’s work with the CIA began when we provided specialized instructors and facilities that the Agency lacked,” Prince told the Daily Beast.“In the years that followed, the company became a virtual extension of the CIA because we were asked time and again to carry out dangerous missions, which the agency either could not or would not do in-house.”
Initially, lawmakers believed the CIA was “looking for skills and capabilities, and they had to go to outside contractors like Blackwater to make sure they could accomplish their mission,” said retired Congressman Pete Hoekstra. But the relationship was in fact much closer than believed.
When King Abdullah of Jordan visited the US in 2005, he took a trip to the Blackwater headquarters in Moyock, North Carolina, where company executives awarded him two gifts – a modified Bushmaster AR-15 rifle and a Remington shotgun. The weapons were labeled with the Blackwater logo, but Prince says that the CIA asked the company to give Abdullah the guns “when people at the agency had forgotten to get gifts for him.”
In a 2008 raid of the Blackwater headquarters, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discovered that the weapons given to Abdullah had been registered as personal property by two employees at the agency – and there was no paperwork indicating that they were now in the possession of Jordanian royalty.
Additionally, the ATF found that many of Blackwater’s weapons had been purchased illegally. Some of these weapons, which included Romanian AK-47s and 17 Bushmaster AR-13s, had illegally had their barrels shortened and been exported to other countries in violation of federal gun laws.

Blackwater argued that in all of these instances, it had been working on behalf of the CIA. Court documents include depositions from CIA executives testifying that Blackwater provided weapons and training for them. One court document even lists “Erik P” as a CIA officer himself.
“The CIA routinely used Blackwater in missions throughout the world,” one document reads. “These efforts were made under written and unwritten contracts and through informal requests. On many occasions the CIA paid Blackwater nothing for its assistance. Blackwater also employed CIA officers and agents, and provided cover to CIA agents and officers operating in covert and clandestine assignments. In many respects, Blackwater, or at least portions of Blackwater, was an extension of the CIA.”
Prince told the Daily Beast that he agreed to provide the CIA with free services out of “patriotic duty”. And even though he sold Blackwater, now known as Academi, for $200 million, he continues to hold a grudge against prosecutors for going after the company.
“Blackwater carried out countless life-threatening missions for the CIA,” he said. “And in return, the government chose to prosecute my people for doing exactly what was asked of them.”

The law excludes branches from the definition of the banking system in Russia. It also removes the phrase "branches of foreign banks" from articles on the state registration of credit institutions with foreign investment and on additional requirements for their establishment and activity. Foreign capital in the Russian banking sector is held in subsidiaries of foreign banks, registered in accordance with Russian legislation. The explanatory note to the document states that branches operate in a different way from subsidiaries of foreign banks, since branches are not subject to Russian jurisdiction. Due to this, the note said, they are not subject to full supervision by regulators; they are not obliged to allot money to obligatory reserve funds, or to report to the Bank of Russia via both the Russian and international accounting systems, nor do they need to submit monthly reports to the Bank of Russia. Your business is very much appreciated! - AR500 Armor Team Increased weapons and ammo demand I could understand, but I was curious as to why an armor company would see a jump in sales. So I decided to give them a call this morning and ask them what was causing such increased demand. Was it due to private citizens buying more than usual? Had the DHS, law enforcement and military recently placed large orders? Or was it simply a matter of all of the above happening at once? The fellow who answered the phone was very friendly. I told him I had been to his site and was curious as to why they had such an increase in sales. "It spiked right after the November election," he told me. I then asked him who the majority of the buyers were. "Are private citizens fueling the increase in sales, or is it government types like the DHS, law enforcement and military?" He quickly told me "all of them really, just an across the board increase from just about every type of buyer." I then asked him "So DHS, military and law enforcement have increased their purchases since November?" "Oh yes," he said, "we have a 6-8 week backlog." I then told the man from AR500 about a phone call I had received from a friend yesterday. The person I spoke with had just received a phone call from one of his closest, life-long friends. The friend who called him spent some time in the Marines. While he was in the Corps he became very close friends with a man who now works in Washington, D.C. as an "International Advisor to the Pentagon." Our friend told me that his friend hadn't talked to this "Int'l Advisor" in quite some time. So he didn't initiate the phone call, the Advisor called him out of the blue. The advisor wanted him to know that "this guns and ammo grab is the real deal." He said "they are coming after guns, and they are going to squeeze ammo so bad that no one will be able to get any, and if you don't have an assault weapon by now, good luck. They will be impossible to get." While he didn't say a full-fledged gun ban was coming, he did say that the DHS "has another order in the works for ammo and AR-15's that will dwarf anything they have already purchased. They are going to absolutely strangle the market." So … when I told this info to the man from AR500, he kind of chuckled and told me "that's funny, because I talked to a guy this morning that we do business with, he buys used brass, tumbles it, refurbishes it and re-sells it. He also makes new casings and sell those. He said he received a phone call yesterday from the gov't asking if he would fill a 50 billion round order for .223 casings." "Did you say 50 billion? With a "B"?" I asked him. He laughed and said "that's exactly what I said. And the guy told me he laughed at the caller from the gov't and asked the same thing ….. Did you say billion, with a B?" "He said he was going to try, but he had to buy a ton of brass and didn't know if he could find enough to fill it." The reports estimated the company’s 16 million acres of land in the Arckaringa Basin in South Australia contain between 133 billion and 233 billion barrels of shale oil trapped in the region’s rocks. It is likely however that just 3.5 billion barrels, worth almost $359 billion (£227 billion) at today’s oil price, will be able to be recovered. The find was likened to the Bakken and Eagle Ford shale oil projects in the US, which have resulted in massive outflows and have led to predictions that the US could overtake Saudi Arabia as the world’s largest oil producer as soon as this year. Peter Bond, Linc Energy’s chief executive, said the find could transform the world’s oil industry but noted that it would cost about £200 million to enable production in the area. My herbal remedy favorite aunt died. Americans robbed of their lives by the corporation March 15, 2013 I only learned today of my favorite aunt's recent death back on February 27th and was devastated that no one got through on the phone to notify me. Life can be like that sometimes. It's one of those things where I hadn't gone into town where my aunt lives except on brief business and hadn't seen her lately and between that and dodging junk mail phone calls, etc., I had not learned of her death as I almost never read obituaries. It's one of the saddest things to go to a house where a friend lived who has passed on and discover they died and you will never see them again in this world. My aunt was into herbal medicine and could name most any cure or remedy from memory for ailments and conditions and definitely believed in herbals as the natural way to better health. It seems ironic that she passed abruptly at 76 and did not live longer considering her resourceful knowledge of herbals and the human body. I noticed several frequencies in her room where she stayed most of the time. I did several checks with a 'Zapchecker' and told her the frequencies seemed pretty heavy and I offered to put up some metal shielding for her and ground it. She never bothered with the shielding and finally began to fail somewhat in the last few months. I had no idea I would never see her again the last time I visited there. I know she had some money stress and mortgage stress like so many of us and it added to her condition. Her relatives had apparently argued over family land and she had not been able to live out her last few years on the family's big ranch as I had hoped she would. Life is short, folks. Bury the hatchet with whomever you can and get on with the living part. Remember, tomorrow never comes. Now my aunt's gone and never got to retire from the city to that ranch. My aunt suffered it on out lying there under those frequencies which I had hoped were not on her all the time, but now I believe she was literally overhauled and murdered electronically. Her lower legs, feet and ankles had swollen up badly and were not getting better. What do you do when you don't have the funds to buy expensive meters which can locate, define and distinguish between the harmful frequencies and the normal radio waves, etc.? Her relatives and kids and grandkids did not spend the money to do that and despite my efforts to help her I was powerless. It appears that Americans are under The Corporation's Bankster electronic surveillance, determined to track each and every one of us who may receive government benefits. We have our own lives to try to live and lead, and the trend is to not have enough time to see to all our next of kin, etc., favorite aunts, uncles, etc.. So we go through life trying to pull the ends together and fit the pieces into something that works, yet despite our efforts the ongoing frequencies can target us from directional antennae in the cell towers, from neighborhood watch radar, from satellites, and more. The corporation is literally burning us up and robbing us of our lives. My point is that there is nothing wrong with longevity as long as a person can enjoy their life. As long as we have these strong frequencies on us I believe our lives are radically shortened. As long as we remain within the power grid it looks like we are in jeopardy. I guess I may only have one more relative to stay here for and help if I can, but if I outlast that relative, my thoughts are on the wilderness. I am beginning to see that we are never 'out to pasture' until we leave the city areas, entirely, something I never could persuade my aunt to do. Sometimes I felt like my aunt was my only friend in the world. God bless her for helping so many people in her lifetime. In January, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) suggested the Obama Administration may have been smuggling guns to jihadist groups in the Middle East in a possible “international Fast and Furious” gun running operation. Rand Paul later doubled down and accused the Obama Administration of a cover-up for running guns through Turkey to terrorist groups in the region.

Then in February Senator Paul demanded that the administration answer whether or not they were running guns through Turkey to Syria.

The airlift, which began on a small scale in early 2012 and continued intermittently through last fall, expanded into a steady and much heavier flow late last year, the data shows. It has grown to include more than 160 military cargo flights by Jordanian, Saudi and Qatari military-style cargo planes landing at Esenboga Airport near Ankara, and, to a lesser degree, at other Turkish and Jordanian airports.

As it evolved, the airlift correlated with shifts in the war within Syria, as rebels drove Syria’s army from territory by the middle of last year. And even as the Obama administration has publicly refused to give more than “nonlethal” aid to the rebels, the involvement of the C.I.A. in the arms shipments ­ albeit mostly in a consultative role, American officials say ­ has shown that the United States is more willing to help its Arab allies support the lethal side of the civil war.
