Texas banking regulators have established licensing and security rules for cryptocurrencies, like bitcoin, and their exchanges. Virtual currencies will not be treated as money, but Texans can use them to buy and sell goods and services free of regulation.
Texas Banking Commissioner Charles G. Cooper offered a regulatory guidance memo last week, which clarified that cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, and Namecoin will not be considered sovereign currency, like legal tender backed by the government and central banks, in the state.
“At this point a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin is best viewed like a speculative investment, not as money,” Cooper said in the memo. “However, as this innovative technology develops, the [Texas Department of Banking] will continue to evaluate whether the nature of cryptocurrencies and the potential harm to the public warrant additional action.”
Virtual currency, Cooper wrote, “does not entitle its owner to anything, and creates no duties or obligations in a person who gives, sells, or transfers it. There is no entity that must honor the value of a cryptocurrency … The only way to convert a unit of cryptocurrency to sovereign currency is to find a willing buyer. Therefore cryptocurrencies as currently implemented cannot be considered money or monetary value under the [Texas] Money Services Act.”
Therefore, the exchange of cryptocurrency between two parties for sovereign currency is not a money transaction, nor is the exchange of one cryptocurrency for another or the transfer of cryptocurrency by itself.
Cooper outlined that most virtual-currency exchanges – which convert dollars to cryptocurrency and vice versa – will be subject to state licensing rules for their money wiring services.
These businesses that conduct money transmissions will be required to have a minimum net worth of US$500,000. They must also submit to a third-party security audit of their computer systems.
A major bitcoin exchange, Mt. Gox, filed for bankruptcy in Japan and Dallas, Texas in recent months after the exchange’s computer system was exposed to fraudulent transactions and technical failures.
Mt. Gox once claimed to host nearly 80 percent of all bitcoin transactions worldwide, and was the primary source cited for bitcoin prices. Its failure wiped out about US$450 million worth of bitcoins.
Texas’ Cooper called Bitcoin ATMs an intermediary between a buyer and seller.
“[It] is worth noting that at least some Bitcoin ATMs can be configured to conduct transactions only between the customer and the machine’s operator, with no third parties involved,” Cooper said. “If the machine never involves a third party, and only facilitates a sale or purchase of Bitcoins by the machine’s operator directly with the customer, there is no money transmission because at no time is money received in exchange for a promise to make it available at a later time or different location.”
Texas is the first US state to outline a regulatory policy for the $50-billion cryptocurrency market, according to Patrick Murck, general counsel for the Bitcoin Foundation.
“I don’t know that any other state has actually come out and clarified how their statutes apply and how their rules apply to the Bitcoin businesses, so that’s a positive thing,” Murck told moneyandtech.com. “Texas is a big, important market, and the Texas Department of Banking is a thought leader for other states, so it’s a very big deal, and frankly, I think they did a good job.”
New York State regulators say they are also in the process of creating regulatory framework for virtual currencies.
Since December 31, 2013, bitcoin’s value against the US dollar has plummeted by 38 percent – a more dramatic decline than copper, the Russian stock market, and the Argentine peso. The Mt. Gox implosion did not improve matters.
The US Internal Revenue Service has said that bitcoin would be regulated as property, not currency. Gina Sanchez, the founder of Chantico Global, told CNBC that the IRS’ designation is a “terrible thing” for bitcoin and means the mysterious cryptocurrency will only continue to lose its market value.
“Bitcoin as a currency doesn’t make any sense,” she said. “You basically have a whole bunch of cyber geeks trying to tout themselves as a monetary authority. That’s just not going to fly.”

My comments here exclude those men who have stepped forward with incredible courage since 1913 to face this tyrannical government, and like our Founding Fathers, have paid an enormous price both personally and financially. People like Bill Benson, our fine gentlemen down in the great State of Tennessee and too many others to list.

Americans forget that the Founding Fathers were the "moneyed class" back then. They were farmers, merchants and men of means. They had a lot to lose, both in land and gold. Yet, they didn't hesitate to step forward against the most incredible odds to build a free nation, not just for themselves, but for their women and children.
My comments are directed at the men of this country, who over the past decades:
Sit back in their easy chair reading Newsweek or spend their time bare chested at a football game, well filled with suds to maintain those obscene beer bellies, while they have put their wives and children at risk. This nation is being invaded wholesale with illegal aliens who come into this country and kidnap, rape and murder our women and children. Some are caught, most are not. Why do the men turn a blind eye in pursuit of good times?
These same men will go vote for the same politicians, state or federal, over and over, who refuse to stop this massive invasion of our country putting their women and children at risk. These same men continue to idolize their party "leadership," while that same leadership refuses to stop this invasion of global riffraff, turning America into a third world dumping ground. These same men would rather spend time, not banding together and having a serious discussion with these politicians, but rather put on their expensive gear and go ride their bike up a mountain, see the latest Broadway show or take a day off work to stand in line to buy tickets to the new Star Wars flick. Why is this?
Today the men in this country sit around watching mindless trash like Survivor or Friends on the boob tube, instead of shouting down the roof against state and federal systems that are utterly and completely rotten beyond redemption. Systems and agencies that are putting their women and children into a state of involuntary servitude for all their lives. Instead they sit back with nary a whisper while state and federal judges to uphold this carnage against the people. Why is this?
Black robed judges continue to hand out welfare and benefits to illegal aliens who are legally entitled to nothing but deportation. Instead of holding their elected public servants accountable for this insanity, men just get up in the morning, go to work at the company store, then return home in the evening to their false sense of security. Why is this? Back in 1776, this breed of men would be called cowards.  
Today men will spend endless hours with their stamp collection or at the bowling alley while Congress after Congress continues to pass unconstitutional legislation that deprives their women of their God-given rights - all because their "party" says it's good for our "democracy." Why is that?
Today men will ignore the documented truth that the state and federal governments are all in collusion to bring America into a one-world government, but they will believe any lie that comes out of the mouth of their favorite radio talk show host or TV anchorman. Today men are desperately clinging to their comfort zones while their women and children are at risk from a police state being erected around them. Why is this?
Today men will stand for hours on end feeding one-armed bandits in gambling casinos, while the Bush Administration's henchmen (Ashcroft and Mueller) continue to strip their women of their God-given rights, all in the name of "the war on terrorism."  They are putting their children at risk by not demaning this government take the necessary measures to clean out the terrorists in this country, both Chinese and middle-Eastern. Why is this?
For decades, America's men think nothing of spending spend lots of money on music CDs or plunking down big bucks to attend concerts or jazz festivals instead of protecting their own families from state predators calling themselves "child protective services." Everyone with children is now a target. Why won't they band together and surround the state capitols and demand that this evil cease? Back in 1787, the men protected their women and children to the death.
For the older men, their grand children are targets of the state. But, these men have already served their country in the military and now it's time to spend their golden years in the Winnebago, they've done their part. After all, at Christmas they can show the grand children how much they love them by buying them "things" made in foreign countries. Why is this?
Today the men of this country will allow a sleezy, morally bankrupt individual like Bill Clinton get away with treason (selling our most sensitive national defense secrets to the Communist Chinese) because Clinton supports their women's "right" to kill their unborn babies. Back in 1854, this was unthinkable. Today, their blind loyalty is to their political party now instead of what's right. Why is this?
Today men think nothing of sitting down at the local bar every night during happy hour while their women and children are put at risk by agencies like the ATF and FBI making no knock, bust down the door on the wrong house raids, killing innocents inside. It's happened and it will continue to happen. A hundred years ago, this would not have been tolerated in a constitutional Republic because the men would not have stood for it, not for a minute.
While their women and children continue to live in a state of bondage to a tyrannical government, the men simply write checks to the RNC or the DNC, thus encouraging those scoundrels to stay on the same path of the planned destruction of this Republic. By writing a check instead of storming the gates, this gives those men more time for the golf course, doing recreational cocaine or surfing the Internet for countless hours enjoying that great "adult" American pastime called pornography. Their harmless pastime does put their women and children at risk out in society, but they no longer care. Why is this?
While the IRS bleeds a family dry, forcing the woman into the workplace and leaving the children to be raised by strangers, many of whom are pedophiles, the man of the house spends his free time doing the "guy thing" at a NASCAR speedway. Why is this? Why won't these men stand up to this rogue agency called the IRS?
Over the past 40 years, the men of this country have sat back and allowed themselves to be brow beaten into submission and castrated by so-called "feminists" like Rosie O'Donnell and Hillary Clinton (although I defy anyone to show me one single feminine attribute of those females) instead of stand up and saying, "Hell No!"
Hard core feminists aren't out there for equal pay, they're out there to destroy the male and the family unit. How it must gall them that the only way lesbians can "impregnate" their female lovers is artificial insemination by a male sperm.
Over the past 40 years the men of this country have put their material objects and addictions before the well being of the women and children by kowtowing to every special interest group in this country in the name of "political correctness" or for government hand outs. Our nation was built by men who were self-reliant, independent and strong. Today they are tolerant, sensitive and genuflect at the feet of perverts called "gays." Why is this?
The men of this country have laid down their arms in favor of political correctness, declaring open season for two-legged predators on their women and children. Instead of surrounding their state capitols armed to the teeth in defiance of such unconstitutional machinations on the part of cowardly and mentally impaired politicians, instead they grovel on their knees to the likes of Diane Feinstein. This sad state of affairs was unheard of in 1905. Why this inability to resist tyranny now?
PC is a cancer on this nation that has turned a Godly nation into a moral sewer. These men have put their children in harms way via mandatory social indoctrination in the anti-God public school system. Why is this?
The men of this country will go to extraordinary lengths to find the right fishing hole, but they refuse to lift a finger to ensure that their women and children will not be forced into global citizenship under the UN. Why is this?
The men of this country will sit in front of the computer playing games while women and children in different parts of this country are being driven off the land by Nazi-style federal agencies. So what if their fellow countryman will lose his land, his wife and children thrown out into the street? After all, those families in Klamath Falls and too many other places have nothing to do with these other men's lives, so why should they give up any of their free time to stand up to the government to help them? Why is this?
Women in this country spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year on "romance books" whose pages are filled with knights in shining armor and genuine heroes coming to rescue the damsel in distress. Why do you suppose that is?
Why do you suppose the men are allowing their women and children to be put at risk in all the ways described above?
Why are the women the ones out there on the front lines battling this government tooth and nail for our children - ready and willing to die if necessary to protect our own?
Because America has lost it's manhood.

In my recent article on How The IRS Violates It's Own Code, the facts were carefully presented which definitively proved how the IRS deliberately lies and misleads Americans by unlawfully seizing (stealing) assets by circumventing the law.
This article will prove how the American worker and employer alike have been hoodwinked regarding the withholding process. The purpose behind this chicanery is not to benefit America, but to further enrich the coffers of the private banking cartel aka the Federal Reserve.
There is no need for an income tax, flat tax, sales tax or any other direct tax. All Americans are encouraged to look behind the curtain so that they might fully understand the grand plunder sucking the lifeblood out of our economy. See: http://www.devvy.com. Don't be fooled by this current illusion of a "booming economy." Debt is not prosperity.
Employers must withhold
So says the Great Deceivers, the Internal Revenue Service. Employers are routinely told that they must, under certain provisions of the tax code, withhold taxes of all sorts from an employee's paycheck. Funny thing though, when sincere Americans request that the IRS send its representatives to public seminars on this issue, the IRS is no where to be found.
Robert Schulz, Chairman of the Board of We the People Foundation for Constitutional Education, Inc., made a swing through 37 cities in April and May of 2003. Before he arrived at each destination, he sent, via certified mail, an invitation to both the IRS and U.S. Attorney's offices to come to his public seminars and correct him if he was giving out the wrong legal facts regarding withholding. What could be more reasonable?
In not one of those 37 cities did either DOJ or IRS send any representative, begging the question, "Why not?" Schulz is a man of honesty and integrity. His invitations to DOJ and IRS were sincere; his only desire was to be absolutely certain that the information he communicated to attendees was legally factual. Instead, he was met with the same usual arrogance in the form of silence. Why do you suppose that is?

Lynda Wall is an expert in the field of withholding and has been assisting employers and employees alike for many years in understanding the law regarding this issue. We the People Foundation for Constitutional Education, Inc. will be holding our national convention in Washington, DC this coming January and Ms. Wall will give a two hour, comprehensive seminar that will firmly establish in anyone's mind once and for all how the IRS lies to employers about this process and the lawful remedy.
According to Ms. Wall:
"The IRS will tell employers and employees that according to IRC section 3402(a)(1) of their code: ".......every employer making payment of wages shall deduct and withhold upon such wages a tax determined in accordance with tables or computational procedures prescribed by the Secretary."
"However, this is what the law really says: no (federal, state, city or county) municipal corporation shall levy or collect or cause to be levied or collected any tax upon the income, or any part thereof, of any person, resident or nonresident (also known as the "Full Paycheck Law"). Employers are prohibited from taking amounts from pay for federal or state taxes, fees or other charges absent the lawful, knowing, written consent of the employee.
"The Code of Federal Regulations clearly advises the employers at 26 CFR §31.3402(p)-1(a) "An employee who desires to enter into an agreement for withholding...shall furnish his employer with Form W-4 (or its equivalent) for withholding. The furnishing of such Form W-4 shall constitute a request for withholding." Then, 31 CFR §215.2(n)(1) clearly tells the employers they cannot take amounts from the workers' pay for any form of State tax UNLESS the employee VOLUNTARILY elects to have such sums withheld.
"Consensual taking from pay occurs ONLY when an employee voluntarily elects in writing to volunteer to participate in any (federal, state, city or county) municipal corporate tax, program, insurance (disability, Medicare), trust (social security), including non-judicial tax levy, garnishment for taxes, tax offsets, tax interest or penalty and the employer consents such a request."
The fruits of your labor belong to you
Pursuant to 26 CFR §31.3402(p)-1(b)(2), either the employer or the employee may terminate the withholding agreement (W-4 or its equivalent) by furnishing a signed written notice to the other. An employer cannot lawfully take amounts from the worker's pay without the risk of being sued after the worker submits his/her written notice to terminate the withholding agreement (W-4 or its equivalent).
According to Ms. Wall, when the employer's tax professionals (CPA or attorney) are the ones negligently advising the company to convert and transmit the worker's property (pay), those incompetent tax professionals are at risk of being sued for negligence, malpractice and misfeasance. Sheds a whole new light on things, doesn't it?
State laws protect workers from non-consensual taking from pay without the worker's explicit, knowing, voluntary, written consent. Only the worker or contractor/payee can make the determination whether or not he/she wants to volunteer to participate in government taxes, fees or other charges (i.e., social security trust contributions [FICA], social programs [Medicare], benefits [disability]) as well as non-judicial liens/levies, penalties and interest.
By all means, every employee and employer should go to the law library and verify the information above. It is accurate, it is factual and it is the law on the books. Don't take the word of the IRS for anything. Check the facts for yourself. Then sit down and have a heart to heart chat with your tax professional and find out why he/she doesn't know the law. After all, they're supposed to be the experts looking out for you, the client.
Unlawfully penalizing employers
The IRS threatens employers with huge fines if they don't withhold payroll taxes. Funny thing though, according to a September 15, 2003 letter from GAO (General Accounting Office) to Congressman Elton Gallegly regarding W-4's and reporting, this little nugget of truth stands out:
"Under current law, IRS does not have statutory authority to impose a penalty to enforce employer compliance with the reporting requirement. The reporting requirement was promulgated in Treasury regulations."
How many employers has the IRS defrauded for untold millions of dollars in fines when in fact, they had no legal authority to impose or enforce such penalties and fines?
Tax cheats
The IRS likes to use a lot of rhetoric about "tax cheats" who won't "pay their fair share." When one lifts the curtain and exposes the lies and fraud being conducted every day by the IRS, one would venture to say that the real "tax cheats" are those who work for the IRS.
Employers are being fleeced to the tune of approximately 30% of their operating budget in "payroll deductions." The worker over a ten year period with $200 of taxes withheld each pay period, would get clipped for $104,000! For what? Certainly not to fund our military, social security or any other legitimate, authorized expenditure by Congress. Those expenditures are funded through borrowing by Congress. Debt is not prosperity.
The American workers and employers have been cheated long enough. If someone owns the fruits of your labor, stolen from you by deceptive and deceitful methods, then you are a slave. The withholding issue was sold under the guise of patriotism because the American people did not want this new taxing scheme back in 1942. Sixty-one years later, the American people still don't want this fleecing of the fruits of their labor which does not benefit them in any way. This process only encourages addictive over spending by Congress and more borrowing from the central bank. Again, debt is not prosperity.
We the people have two choices: You can either stay on your knees to this tyranny or you can get the facts and then enforce your rights using the law.
What future will you pass on to your children and grand babies? Freedom or indentured servitude?

I have had people ask me to explain my dad's stance on this BLM fight. Here it is in as simple of terms as I can explain it. There is so much to it, but here it s in a nut shell. My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my dad in 1972. These men bought and paid for their rights to the range and also built waters, fences and roads to assure the servival of their cattle, all with their own money, not with tax dollars. These rights to the land use is called preemptive rights. Some where down the line, to keep the cows from over grazing, came the bureau of land management. They were supposed to assist the ranchers in the management of their ranges while the ranchers paid a yearly allotment which was to be use to pay the BLM wages and to help with repaires and improvements of the ranches. My dad did pay his grazing fees for years to the BLM until they were no longer using his fees to help him and to improve. Instead they began using these money's against the ranchers. They bought all the rest of the ranchers in the area out with they're own grazing fees. When they offered to buy my dad out for a penence he said no thanks and then fired them because they weren't doing their job. He quit paying the BLM but, tried giving his grazing fees to the county, which they turned down. So my dad just went on running his ranch and making his own improvements with his own equipment and his own money, not taxes. In essence the BLM was managing my dad out of business. Well when buying him out didn't work, they used the indangered species card. You've already heard about the desert tortis. Well that didn't work either, so then began the threats and the court orders, which my dad has proven to be unlawful for all these years. Now their desperate. It's come down to buying the brand inspector off and threatening the County Sheriff. Everything their doing at this point is illegal and totally against the constitution of the United States of America. Now you may be saying," how sad, but what does this have to do with me?" Well, I'll tell you. They will get rid of Cliven Bundy, the last man standing on the Bunkerville allotment and then they will close all the roads so no one can ever go on it again. Next, it's Utah's turn. Mark my words, Utah is next.
Then there's the issue of the cattle that are at this moment being stolen. See even if dad hasn't paid them, those cattle do belong to him. Regardless where they are they are my fathers property. His herd has been part of that range for over a hundred years, long before the BLM even exsisted. Now the Feds think they can just come in and remove them and sell them without a legal brand inspection or without my dad's signature on it. They think they can take them over two boarders, which is illegal, ask any trucker. Then they plan to take them to the Richfeild Aucion and sell them. All with our tax money. They have paid off the contract cowboys and the auction owner as well as the Nevada brand inspector with our tax dollars. See how slick they are?

From what I can see, the Bureau of Land Management, US Govt agency, has encircled this ranch and it is being stated that they are killing cattle and burying them.  They are basically attempting to confiscate the land, remove the cattle and are saying it is because of an endangered species matter re: a rare turtle.  What has come out recently however is that it isn't about the turtle.  It's about water and weapons grade minerals that are on the land that the government and the corporations want.  They have tazered and thrown to the ground a pregnant woman as well as a 57 year old mother of 11 cancer survivor, and others as well.  They have police dogs and Blackwater type swat teams and there are hundreds of them with hotel rooms rented for two weeks.  The protestors are smaller in number but pretty riled up and have called on the militia for support.  Some militia have showed up and more are on their way.  The Governor of Nevada has stated that BLM (Bureau of Land Management) is in the wrong.  People are waiting to see whether the Governor will do more than talk.

Feds move in on Nevada rancher's herd over illegal grazing

For 20 years, a tough-as-leather Nevada rancher and the federal government have been locked in a bitter range war over cattle grazing rights.

This weekend the confrontation got worse, when the feds hired contract cowboys to start seizing Cliven Bundy's cattle, which have been grazing on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The government officials brought a show of force that included dozens of armed agents in SUVs and helicopters.

Bundy, 67, who has been a rancher all his life, accuses BLM of stampeding over on his rights.

“This is a lot bigger deal than just my cows,” Bundy told FoxNews.com. “It’s a statement for freedom and liberty and the Constitution.”

The fight involves a 600,000-acre area under BLM control called Gold Butte, near the Utah border. The vast and rugged land is the habitat of the protected desert tortoise, and the land has been off-limits for cattle since 1998. Five years before that, when grazing was legal, Bundy stopped paying federal fees for the right.

“For more than two decades, cattle have been grazed illegally on public lands in northeast Clark County,” the BLM said in a statement. “BLM and (the National Park Service) have made repeated attempts to resolve this matter administratively and judicially. Impoundment of cattle illegally grazing on public lands is an option of last resort.”

But Bundy said he has grazed cattle on the land for decades, and his father and father's father did long before his 1,000 cattle roamed the area. He has long defied orders from bureaucrats he says are bent on running him out of business.

Just before the round-up began this weekend, Bundy said federal agents surrounded his 150-acre ranch. His son was arrested on Sunday in an incident involving the agents.

“They’ve been bringing men in and equipment and setting up a compound,” Bundy told FoxNews.com Monday. “They got helicopters flying low. They got snipers around the ranch. Our access to public lands has been blocked.”

Bundy said he is worried BLM might try to turn the situation into another Waco or Ruby Ridge.

“Yeah, there’s a little fear in me,” Bundy said. “They’re definitely set up to do that.”

Federal officials said BLM enforcement agents were dispatched in response to statements Bundy made that the agency perceived as threats.

“When threats are made that could jeopardize the safety of the American people, the contractors and our personnel; we have the responsibility to provide law enforcement to account for their safety,” National Park Service spokeswoman Christie Vanover told reporters Sunday.

Bundy, who does not have an attorney, spoke to FoxNews.com from Las Vegas, where he had gone early Monday morning to ask Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie for help. Last week, Gillespie told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that neither Bundy nor the BLM should resort to violence.

“No drop of human blood is worth spilling over any cow,” Gillespie said.

Back at the ranch, Bundy's wife Carol said she and her husband were not looking for trouble.

“We’re not pointing guns at anyone, but we’re sure getting a lot of guns pointed at us,” she said.

The trouble started when Bundy stopped paying grazing fees in 1993. He said he didn't have to because his Mormon ancestors worked the land since the 1880s, giving him rights to the land.

“We own this land,” he said, not the feds. He said he is willing to pay grazing fees but only to Clark County, not BLM.

“Years ago, I used to have 52 neighboring ranchers,” he said. “I’m the last man standing. How come? Because BLM regulated these people off the land and out of business.”

He said he won’t let the feds do that to him.

“I said, ‘No.’ Then, ‘Hell, no,’” he said.

BLM said in a statement two judges ordered Bundy to remove his cattle from Gold Butte. The Center for Biological Diversity, an environmental group, said the federal action was long overdue.

“Despite having no legal right to do so, cattle from Bundy’s ranch have continued to graze throughout the Gold Butte area, competing with tortoises for food, hindering the ability of plants to recover from extensive wildfires, trampling rare plants, damaging ancient American Indian cultural sites and threatening the safety of recreationists,” Rob Mrowka, a spokesman for the group, said in a statement.

BLM Prepares to Clearcut Oregon's Coast Range- Ask the Governor and Obama to Stop it!

A Big Step Backwards for Oregon Forests.

Whether you are a tree-hugger or a logger, just about everyone agrees that the best way to manage our public lands is to focus on thinning the millions of acres of second-growth plantations to reduce fire hazard and increase forest health.

Unfortunately, rather than embrace the emerging social and scientific consensus that small-diameter thinning, as opposed to large-scale clearcutting, is the best way to responsibly manage our forests, the Coos Bay BLM is planning to turn-back the clock and clearcut over 1,400 acres of forests in the salmon-bearing Sixes and New River Watersheds.

Clearcutting Forests and Trashing Watersheds.

Currently the canopy of these mature forests help protect water quality by moderating the timing and quantity of “peak flows” and by filtering sediment that would otherwise reach the salmon and steelhead habitat in the Sixes and New Rivers. In addition to the massive clearcuts, the BLM is also proposing to build 10 more miles of logging roads on steep slopes and across creeks in these already severely degraded watersheds. The combination of road construction and clearcutting is a death sentence for watersheds that are already on the brink of collapse.

Why is this Happening?

In the waning days of the Bush Administration, the BLM signed a decision to drastically increase the amount of clearcutting on public lands. This decision (know as the Western Oregon Plan Revisions or “WOPR”) was opposed by over 25,000 Americans who asked the BLM to manage these lands for the benefit of all, not just for the profits of a few. Now the BLM contends that despite the wishes of the public, that large-scale clearcutting will be their primary forest “management” tool.

Oregon Governor Kulongoski has already stated his opposition to the BLM’s intent to return to a clearcutting regime. While these are Federal lands, his leadership on this issue is crucial. President Obama has the power to direct the BLM to scrap the WOPR plan entirely and start over with a plan that aims to protect Oregon's old growth forests, imperiled species, clean rivers and rural economies.

Please take a moment to send an automatic letter to the Governor and Predident Obama. The letter to the governor thanks him for taking a stand against the Western Oregon Plan Revisions and asks him to oppose the “Edson Regen” timber sale that will clearcut 1,400 acres of mature forests. WHY BUNDY IS HOLDING OUT

I have had people ask me to explain my dad's stance on this BLM fight. Here it is in as simple of terms as I can explain it. There is so much to it, but here it s in a nut shell. My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my dad in 1972. These men bought and paid for their rights to the range and also built waters, fences and roads to assure the servival of their cattle, all with their own money, not with tax dollars. These rights to the land use is called preemptive rights. Some where down the line, to keep the cows from over grazing, came the bureau of land management. They were supposed to assist the ranchers in the management of their ranges while the ranchers paid a yearly allotment which was to be use to pay the BLM wages and to help with repaires and improvements of the ranches. My dad did pay his grazing fees for years to the BLM until they were no longer using his fees to help him and to improve. Instead they began using these money's against the ranchers. They bought all the rest of the ranchers in the area out with they're own grazing fees. When they offered to buy my dad out for a penence he said no thanks and then fired them because they weren't doing their job. He quit paying the BLM but, tried giving his grazing fees to the county, which they turned down. So my dad just went on running his ranch and making his own improvements with his own equipment and his own money, not taxes. In essence the BLM was managing my dad out of business. Well when buying him out didn't work, they used the indangered species card. You've already heard about the desert tortis. Well that didn't work either, so then began the threats and the court orders, which my dad has proven to be unlawful for all these years. Now their desperate. It's come down to buying the brand inspector off and threatening the County Sheriff. Everything their doing at this point is illegal and totally against the constitution of the United States of America. Now you may be saying," how sad, but what does this have to do with me?" Well, I'll tell you. They will get rid of Cliven Bundy, the last man standing on the Bunkerville allotment and then they will close all the roads so no one can ever go on it again. Next, it's Utah's turn. Mark my words, Utah is next.
Then there's the issue of the cattle that are at this moment being stolen. See even if dad hasn't paid them, those cattle do belong to him. Regardless where they are they are my fathers property. His herd has been part of that range for over a hundred years, long before the BLM even exsisted. Now the Feds think they can just come in and remove them and sell them without a legal brand inspection or without my dad's signature on it. They think they can take them over two boarders, which is illegal, ask any trucker. Then they plan to take them to the Richfeild Aucion and sell them. All with our tax money. They have paid off the contract cowboys and the auction owner as well as the Nevada brand inspector with our tax dollars. See how slick they are?
