Intercontinental Le Moana - Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Bora Bora in French Polynesia is undeniably home to some of the most picturesque above-water bungalow resorts, pioneered in the region by Intercontinental.
Suspended on stilts between the ocean and the lagoon, Intercontinental has secured the best location in the archipelago - and Le Moana is no exception.
Complete with two restaurants, a cocktail lounge and with spa services nearby, the hotel is certainly among one of the most beautiful in the world.
And the luxurious resort has also managed to stay true to its Polynesian roots, with hats, baskets and mats created from coconut palm leaves the sort of souvenirs on sale. Additionally, guests can shop for Monoi oil (renowned for its medical properties) and even scoop up some loose pearls from vendors nearby.
Above-water bungalows were pioneered in the region by Intercontinental - and as such, the hotel has nabbed some of the most prime areas

Likuliku Lagoon Resort - Mamanuca Archipelago, Fiji
Another expensive but unique option, the Likuliku Lagoon Resort is situated in the stunning Mamanuca Archipelago, near Nadi, in Fiji.
Like the resort itself, the bungalows were all designed using traditional Fijian architecture and built using materials native to the region.
The area is perhaps most-known for Modriki Island, where the Tom Hanks film Castaway was filmed. In fact, guests can even travel there from the resort via jet-ski.
If simply relaxing isn't enough, there are a range of activities available, including Fijian body treatments at the spa and windsurfing on the Pacific Ocean.

The Berjaya Langkawi Resort, spread across 28 hectares of tropical rainforest, encompasses every one of these 'jewels,' easily accessible from its 50 rooms, suites and chalets. (There are both above-water and in-rainforest options available.)

Song Saa Private Island - Koh Rong Archipelago, Cambodia
This all-inclusive, and all expensive, resort is a testament to just how special it really is.
It's actually the country's first all-inclusive private island resort and claims that it can provide anything your heart may desire.
Spread across two pristine islands, known as Song Saa ('The Sweethearts'), the resort is as seductive - with its crisp white accents - as it is luxurious.
There is a large infinity swimming pool, a yoga and meditation centre and an exclusive island boutique.
And if that's not enough to convince you, the resort has even established a marine reserve in order to safeguard the nearby reef and allow guests to observe turtles, seahorses and tropical fish.

Admirals, generals: Pentagon tapes Indict Hillary

NEW YORK – Recordings of top Pentagon officials in 2011 strongly criticizing Hillary Clinton for leading a State Department “march to war” against Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi in 2011 and for working with the Muslim Brotherhood confirm the conclusions of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, according to members who spoke to WND.
CCB members said the recordings revealed by the Washington Times provide additional evidence to support the group’s interim report concluding the Obama administration “changed sides” in Libya, rejecting an effort by Gadhafi to abdicate and choosing instead to arm al-Qaida-affiliated militia seeking to forcibly oust the dictator.
Last week, WND reported retired Adm. James Lyons’ conclusion the Obama administration could have ousted Gadhafi peacefully by accepting a deal brokered in March 2011 by retired Rear Adm. Chuck Kubic with AFRICOM in Germany.
“The release of the Pentagon secret tapes by the Washington Times today validates the CCB interim report that the Libyan war was totally unnecessary, since it now has been validated that Gadhafi was willing to abdicate and that he had no intention of causing a humanitarian crisis, as promoted by Hillary’s State Department,” said Lyons, a former four-star admiral who served as the commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific and a founding member of the CCB.
The CCB – comprised of 17 retired admirals and generals; former intelligence agents; active anti-terrorist experts; media specialists; and former congressmen – has been conducting its own investigation and working behind the scenes for the past year-and-a-half to ensure Congress uncovers the truth of what happened in Benghazi and holds people accountable.
“It is long past time that the Obama administration and especially his then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton come clean about why they were so determined to turn on Gadhafi – our ally in the war against al-Qaida – and instead chose to arm and support al-Qaida militias fighting to overthrow him,” said Clare Lopez, a former career operations officer with the CIA and currently vice president for research at the Washington-based Center for Security Policy.
Lopez said it’s “critical to note that Gadhafi was actively engaged with Department of Defense officials to arrange discussions about his possible abdication and exile when that promising development was squashed by the Obama White House.”
“The Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi has been asking ‘Why?’ for well over a year now,” she said. “It is time the American people and the families of those who fought and gave their lives at Benghazi in September 2012 were told why those brave Americans had to die at all, much less die alone with no effort made to save them.”
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, another CCB founding member, told WND in an email that the Washington Times disclosure puts additional pressure on Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., to subpoena Clinton and other key Obama administration officials to testify soon in public before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

1/31/2015 — Military AC-130 Gunship Plane to be equipped with airborne lasers

by Michael Janitch
The famous AC-130 gunship plane is about to get a few upgrades.
Laser cannons (guns) are to be installed soon.
Most people have heard of (or seen) these aircraft at some point or another.  Usually this military workhorse plane is equipped with large machine gun cannons which can be deployed out the side of the aircraft.
AC130J-Ghostrider

This new laser system will be based on the US Navy's electric laser program (as opposed to chemical lasers).
Quote Forbes:
"The top brass in the U.S. Air Force wants to put laser weapons on ground-attack aircraft.
Speaking at a conference in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, Lt. Gen. Bradley Heithold, the head of the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, said he wanted to explore the possibility of outfitting an AC-130 Ghostrider aircraft with laser weapons.
What he didn’t say was whether the airborne laser would be powered by chemical or electric energy?
The Ghostrider is a heavily armed ground-attack aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin. The gunship is designed so that weapons are fired from a single side. By circling stationary targets, the aircraft can sustain persistent fire for an extended period of time.
Here is how Tyler Rogoway at Foxtrot Alpha described the AC-130:
The AC-130 flying gunship fleet is one of the most fabled and feared assets in the entire USAF inventory. Known for its ability to unleash a broadside of cannon fire in the dead of night, the newest of the AC-130 lot is more about smart bombs than raining lead and howitzer shells down on the enemy.
The Air Force spent about $4.3 billion pursuing airborne lasers that could destroy ballistic missiles between 1994 and 2007, according to the Congressional Research Service. In particular, the Air Force focused primarily on chemical oxygen iodine laser (COIL) systems, which could be mounted in the aft section of a modified Boeing 747 aircraft. Northrop Grumman was the key company leading the COIL effort.
In 2009, former Defense Secretary Robert Gates killed the Air Force’s airborne laser program as part of an effort to reduce spending and reform the military’s acquisition process.
Unlike the chemically-powered lasers pursued by the Air Force, the U.S. Navy has focused on electrically powered lasers. The latter have proven to be far more successful than the former. In December, the Navy completed the first successful deployment of an electrically-powered laser weapon system aboard the USS Ponce in the Persian Gulf.

The US Navy has been leading the way in the US DEWO program.  The Directed Energy Warfare Office of the US Navy has been developing multiple new weapon systems for ship based warfare (lasers).
ht_navy_laws_weapon_tk_130804_wmain
The new electric powered lasers are now reaching a point where their power can surpass any former chemical laser.  This new step forward is due to more advanced electrical systems being developed which increase the overall wattage output of the laser itself.

The Navy LaWS (laser weapon system) has been installed on a ship deployed in the Middle east, and has undergone extensive trials via land/sea based tests.
Two of the tests are seen below:

No doubt the new Navy railgun system could also be installed in one of these gunships!
The railgun will be rolled out later this year on a special new vessel designed to be quick and maneuverable.  If they can stabilize this railgun for aircraft, it could take out anything below.
Here is a test firing of the new railgun system, even in ultra-slow motion its fast.

Using the same kind of lasers, the US Army is able to shoot down incoming MORTARS, drones, and aircraft !
The Army created the HEL-MD (high energy laser mobile device), which is a truck mounted laser system, capable of targeting from near ground to full 90 degree angle upwards.
Watch the mortar , and drone shootdown tests here: (super-mega death ray is the new slang name for this device)

Overall, lasers make up just one component of the next generation weapons being developed by the military.
To understand what is going on, where we are going, and more importantly to understand how we are at a point in history (like the switch from swords to guns in the 1600's)...... I suggest watching my 4 part series on "Directed Energy Weapons":

We are literally at a turning point in history for weaponry.   Directed Energy Weapons, lasers, High Power Microwaves (HPM), electromagnetic weapons, and even plasma weapons are being developed.   If the Army can melt incoming mortars, this makes howitzer type cannons useless.
If they can melt mortars now, sooner or later they will be able to melt incoming bullets.   When that day comes, guns will be as useless as an arrow against a tank.
The 'future' of weapons is officially here.
Keep in mind, High Power Lasers can be used to control the weather, per Dr. Michio Kaku himself!

Read much more on weather modification via high power lasers here:

Greece Is Now a Russia Sanctions Veto. Merkel Is Foaming at the Mouth.....

Greece Is Now a Russia Sanctions Veto. Merkel Is Foaming at the Mouth.....

Greece is now effectively a veto power when it comes to future Russian sanctions. Merkel will have to find a new country to bully.

17 hours ago | 3678 26

http://russia-insider.com/en/2015/01/30/2975

In recent months, Kotzias wrote on Twitter that sanctions against Russia weren’t in Greece’s interests.

This article originally appeared at Zero Hedge

Two days ago, Zero Hedge first, and shortly thereafter everyone else, pointed out something stunning: the biggest surprise to emerge so far out of the new anti-Troika/austerity Greek government was not so much its intention to proceed with the first test of "Odious Debt" - this was largely known in advance - but its dramatic pivot away from Germany and Europe, and toward Russia.
As we noted before, not only has Greece already blocked all ongoing privatization processes, a clear snub of Merkel and the Troika which demands the piecemeal blue light special sale of Greece to western buyers as part of the "bailout", but is also looking at plans to reinstate public sector employees and announce increased pensions for those on low incomes: further clear breaches of the Troika's austerity terms.
But the most important message that Tsipras is sending to Europe is that (after meeting the Russian ambassador first upon his election) Greece is now effectively a veto power when it comes to future Russian sanctions!
This was first hinted when the Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, who arrives in Brussels today to discuss possible additional sanctions on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine, said a few days ago that the Greek government disagreed with an EU statement in which President Donald Tusk raised the prospect of “further restrictive measures” on Russia. As Bloomberg observed before, in recent months, Kotzias wrote on Twitter that sanctions against Russia weren’t in Greece’s interests. He said in a blog that a new foreign policy for Greece should be focused on stopping the ongoing transformation of the EU “into an idiosyncratic empire, under the rule of Germany.”
And Europe, shocked that one of its own has dared to question its "unanimous" policy toward Russia, a policy driven by the US foreign state department whose opinion of Europe is best captured by the hacked and intercepted "Fuck the EU" outburst by Victoria Nuland in February 2014, has been forced to backtrack. From DPA:
The European Union denied Wednesday that it ignored Greek objections when it issued a statement raising the prospects of new sanctions against Russia.
The row is the first of several clashes expected between Brussels and Greece's new prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, who was elected Sunday on promises to renegotiate the bailout granted to Greece by its European neighbours and the International Monetary Fund.
Tsipras has in the past also spoken out against sanctions on Russia, rejecting the use of "Cold War language."
The EU has imposed several rounds of sanctions on Russia for its role in the Ukraine crisis, notably economic measures restricting Russian access to European credit markets and European exports. On Tuesday morning, EU leaders in a joint statement tasked their foreign ministers with considering "further restrictive measures" when they meet on Thursday.
But Tsipras complained to Greek media that his country had not been consulted on the statement. "Greece do not consent," a statement by Tsipras' office said on Tuesday evening, adding that the announcement from Brussels violated "proper procedure."
A spokesman for EU President Donald Tusk, who issued the statement on behalf of the leaders, denied that Athens had been sidelined during the preparation of the text.
"We consulted everybody, as we always do, and we didn't ignore or sidestep Greece in any way - quite to the contrary," Preben Aamann told dpa. "We tried to find a special solution that would accommodate them."
Actually what the EU "always does" is to ignore the voices and interest of everyone but the most powerful. And as for "not ignoring" Greece, apparently the EU failed. Only this time Greece, its government no longer a Eurozone lackey, will no longer let it slide: "Greek broadcaster Skai said newly appointed Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias would bring up the issue at Thursday's meeting in Brussels. Tsipras is also expected in the Belgian capital on February 12 for an EU summit that will touch upon the situation in Ukraine."
And here is how Russia just won another completely unexpected victory in Europe: "EU sanctions require unanimity to be implemented, so a Greek veto could block any further measures." And all thanks to the epic blunder by Brussels to allow a European nation to voice its opinion in a democratic fashion.
It wasn't just Zero Hedge who first suggested the Greek Russian pivot: here is RBS' Greg Gibbs who says that there are now "concerns Greek government may threaten to veto further Russian sanctions in exchange for debt relief fuels fear of conflict."
To be sure, Germany, whose theatrical opposition to money printing folded like Boehner's lawn chair last week, as it is now all too clear the preservation of German export dominance (and hence aversion to the DEM) and the sanctity of Deutsche Bank is what it is all about no matter the hyperinflationary concerns of the people, is quite furious that the grand ambitions of Europe's economic powerhouse - which as we reported moments ago has now officially entered deflation - have been crushed by tiny, depression-ridden Greece.
Here is Germany's economy minister Gabriel, who was on the tape earlier, casting fire and brimstone at Greece. From Reuters:
Greece should not burden the rest of Europe with its internal political debates,German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Thursday, adding that Greece's own inequalities were to blame for problems that it tried to blame on its multilateral lenders.
Gabriel told parliament Greece should stay in the euro but the new leftist leader Alexis Tsipras must respect the terms of its bailout. Greece could not blame the "troika" of multilateral lenders for its own unfair distribution of wealth, he said.
"All democratic people must respect the democratic decision of voters and a newly-elected government's right to decide its course - but the rest of Europe's citizens should not have to expect changes in Greek politics to burden them," he said.
Of course, as long as the changes in Greek politics allowed the rest of Europe's citizens to continue to benefit at Greek expense, nobody batted an eyelid. But change the equation and all hell breaks loose.
And the final confirmation that suddenly tiny Greece may have all the leverage in Europe is that moments ago Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that European sanctions on Russia are complicated by the "new Greek government."
The good news for Greece, of course, is that it now has all the optionality: it can use its veto power as a bargaining chip to unblock US foreign policy in Ukraine (because at the end of the day, Europe is merely losing as a result of the Russian sanctions) and demand a debt haircut in exchange for siding with John Kerry on further Russian "punishment." Or he may simply hold the line and hold off for a competing, better offer from Russia and the BRICs, whose leverage may be nominal  now that crude is plummeting, but if and when the last shale junk bond investor blows up and the US shale renaissance is over sending crude soaring right back to $100, then watch as the oil exporters are back with a bang, and dictating geopolitical terms.
And whatever happens, please don't remind Brussels that point 40 of Syriza's 40 Point Manifesto, aka the "nuclear option", is "Closure of all foreign bases in Greece and withdrawal from NATO."
It is so bad that Business New Europe went so far as to ask if the New Greek Government is "Russia's Trojan horse inside the EU?"
In any event, the European balance of power has just shifted and in a way that nobody anticipated:
The biggest winners: if only for now: Greece and Russia (and, while it will never be admitted, all those Europeans who desperately need the Russian import market).
The biggest losers: all the unelected Eurocrats in Brussels who at this moment are scratching their heads how to bring the bad news that there is no longer unanimity on Russian sanctions to John Kerry, and all thanks to a country nobody thought would dare to speak up.

This cute little dog has gained popularity since his picture has been posted on Facebook.
When the Moultrie Colquitt Humane Society posted pictures of Rami, they didn’t expect attention like this. The dog is a pit bull-dachshund mix and has exponentially gained popularity since the picture was first posted on Tuesday. The humane society’s Facebook page posted 14 pictures of the bulky little dog along with a message about Rami’s personality.
“Hi! I’m Rami and I’m looking for my forever home.
“I’m a year old Dachshund/Pit bull mix. Yes, you’re reading that right, and, no, you haven’t gone crazy. I’m full of energy. I don’t like walking on a leash. I’m a sweetie pie, and love to run. I don’t listen very well, so you’ll need to take some time to train me. Because I tend to be a bit hyper, I might not be the best addition to a household with little kids. But I’m sure that all I need is a little lovin’. Will you take me home? Call 229-985-5463.”

This muscular pup is full of energy.
This popular dog has gotten over 39,000 shares on Facebook and is making headlines across the internet. Huffington Post reports that the muscular pooch has gotten quite a number of admirers as well. The precious pooch, who has a pit bull-type head with a dachshund-type body, has become so popular that the Humane Society announced that they will put prospective owners through an interview process as a result of the influx of adoption requests.
“Don Flowers, manager of the shelter, told The Huffington Post that they have already received more than 200 applications for the pup, and will begin choosing an owner next week.”
According to Daily Mail, this particular mix of dog breeds is usually referred to as a Doxbull or a Pitwee. I prefer Dachsbull or Pithund. Or maybe a weinerbull? Regardless of what you would call it, this popular dog had a pit bull mother and a dachshund father and is getting the love of the internet.
