Half of the US Senate Just Committed Felonies, Could Face 3 Years in Prison

Congress has really outdone itself this time. On Monday, neoconservative Republicans in the Senate were apparently so eager to go to war with Iran that they broke a federal law known as the Logan Act in the process. The Logan Act has been around since 1799 and has remained mostly unchanged, created to keep rogue members of Congress from undermining foreign relations.
How did Senate Republicans violate the Logan Act? Well they did that by being war mongers. But more specifically, when 47 members of Congress signed onto a letter that was sent to Iranian officials in an attempt to undermine the peace deal with Iran, they clearly violated the act — and also all committed felonies. According to Cornell University, the act reads:
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
And the precedent has already been clearly set. In the case United States v. Curtiss-Wright Export Corp. (1936), Justice Sutherland wrote in the majority opinion:
The President alone has the power to speak or listen as a representative of the nation. He makes treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate; but he alone negotiates. Into the field of negotiation the Senate cannot intrude, and Congress itself is powerless to invade it.
The Republicans, who so often talk of the Constitution almost as highly as they talk of their support for Israel, seem to have trampled over the document multiple times in as many weeks. You see, when they invited Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to speak to Congress, they were also in violation of the Logan Act then too. John Boehner is mostly at fault for the Netanyahu fiasco, though, so he’s the only member of the House that should prosecuted for that.
However, 47 members of the US Senate — all Republicans — have clearly violated the Logan Act, and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Three years in prison for 47 members of our war mongering Congress? I would support that. The real question is: will enough Americans stand up and carry out the laws that are written plain as day in the Constitution, or will we simply sit back and expect the government to punish itself?
President Obama, who himself has shown little to no respect for the Constitution, seems to have no interest in prosecuting the war mongering 47, so that’s up to us to carry out. A petition to charge the Senators has already racked up over 40,000 signatures overnight (UPDATE: the petition has now surpassed 100,000 signatures, which means the White House will have to respond to it).
However, Citizen’s arrest seems to be a more effective plan of action than petitioning. These 47 men committed felonies and should be charged just as any one of us regular folks would be when we commit a crime. Who should we arrest first? John McCain or Lindsey Graham?

Three Different Versions....

TRADITIONAL VERSION
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. 
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
The ones who are responsible for themselves live. 
The ones who do not exercise responsibility die. 
The winners win. 
The losers lose.
MORAL OF THE STORY:

POLITICALLY CORRECT VERSION

The world is stunned by the sharp contrast.  
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?  
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, “It's Not Easy Being Green.”  
Civil Rights groups stage a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the groups singing, “We shall overcome.” 
TV Evangelists have their groups kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.  
Politicians condemn the ant and blames the other political parties and all of their political foes for the grasshopper's plight. 
Socialistic legislators scream on the TV Talk shows that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and they call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.  
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Grasshopper Rights Protection Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.  The Ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, Ant’s home is confiscated by the Government’s Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.  
The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the Ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it.  
The Ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.  
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood. 
The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.  
The ones who are responsible for themselves lose. 
The ones who do not exercise responsibility lose. 
The winners lose. 
The losers lose. 
Everybody loses.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Be careful how you vote.

When the Media Moguls finally get around to talking with Adam Ant about his situation, Adam confesses to the investigators that he is only renting, and paying an outrageous amount of rent, at that.  He confesses that he barely has enough money for his personal needs, but Greedy Grasshopper would be welcome to stay if he would only pay for his half of the rent and his half of the food.  Adam Ant assures the world that it was never his intent to deprive Greedy Grasshopper of his right to food and a home. 
After looking at the price of the rent and food, and because they can’t make a court case against the owner of the house, the bureaucrats decided that they would move Greedy Grasshopper into a housing project and issue food stamps and welfare instead of arrange for Greedy Grasshopper to take over Adam Ant's palace. 
Greedy Grasshopper moves to the projects and lives on store-bought, preservative-laden food, while Adam Ant continues to live in the rented house, eating his organic foods. 
Every month, Adam Ant pays his outrageously high rent to a foreign-owned real estate management company called “Rental Company, LLC.”  The owners of the LLC pay their investment income to a certain Panamá Private Interest Foundation.  The Foundation makes a donation to the Adam Ant Assembly, which is a non-profit religious corporation sole that is managed by Adam Ant.  Adam Ant Assembly is responsible under U.S. law and state law for the education and well-being of the members of the Adam Ant Assembly, so the Assembly feeds and cloths Adam Ant, his family, and the rest of their worthy friends. 
Adam Ant continues to live peacefully in the rented home. 
The Grasshopper, living in the projects, gets tazed by a policeman for hopping at the wrong time, and dies of heart failure. 
The government continues to oppress those who don’t know how to deal with a socialistic society on a peaceful level. 
The ones who think ahead and prepare for living in socialistic society still have peace and plenty.
The ones who do not exercise any foresight, die.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Own nothing.  Control everything.
You have just seen how the super-rich manage to be judgment-proof, live in comfort, and can continue to live their lives as they see fit.  Ordinary people of ordinary means can use this information and become wealthy by following the same, simple rules. 
Adam Ant most likely retained some competent protection services for having the business set up in the above manner. 
When you are ready to enjoy some peace and prosperity, even in the midst of a nation going through hard times, then you will call on some competent help, also.

It is rare to hear of the Federal Government actually making decisions that makes sense. It is even stranger to find that they are possibly going to be giving refuge for those who are persecuted for their educational preferences. This could soon be a law.


Christian News reports ......
A House panel has approved a bill that—among other asylum and immigration concerns—would grant foreign homeschooling families asylum in the U.S. if they face persecution in their native country for opting to teach their children at home.
Until now there was the chance if not the probability that families who came to the U.S. to escape persecution would be deported. If these families were leaving a country that made homeschooling illegal, they would have no grounds for staying in America. That now might change.

HR 1153, approved 17-13 in the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, was inspired in part by the story of Ewe and Hannelore Romeike, who were under threat of deportation by American officials after they fled their homeland of Germany where homeschooling is illegal.


So, while our president seeks to make the illegal actions of people, seeking only economic advantage, into legal citizens, the House may actually do something to improve liberty. We might be a country flocked to by those seeking refuge; people who believe that it is their duty to teach their children.


Many fail to see the indoctrination that occurs in our public schools. They do not see that the teaching of any subject with the absence of God is to teach there is no God. If the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, one must be first taught the fear of the Lord before they can truly understand any subject rightly. And that there is no such thing allowed by Christ as a neutral position.  For this reason, many have wrongly interpreted the facts of science and ignore the facts of history.


The people like the Romeikes will now have a chance to live here and raise their children according to their convictions. Their fight has not been widely publicized.


Christian News reports.
The Romeikes had been battling the matter in the courts for several years while continuing to raise their six children in rural Tennessee. The Romeike family fled to the United States in 2008 after German authorities demanded that they stop homeschooling in violation of national law.
If this bill passes the House and Senate, there will still be the obstacle of Obama, but there might be the possibility of a friendlier administration by the time the bill makes it to that desk. We can only pray.

Top Ukrainian General Viktor Muzhenko admitted on Ukrainian television that the Ukrainian army is not fighting Russian troops in Ukraine, thereby proving that the reason given by the Obama administration for imposing sanctions against Russia is a complete lie.
During a January 29 briefing for foreign military attaches aired on Ukraine’s Channel 5 television, Muzhenko, the chief of the armed forces of Ukraine, officially acknowledged, “the Ukrainian army is not engaged in combat operations against Russian units.”
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov pointed out in a news conference that Muzhenko directly supervises military operations in the southeast and that “his statement is a legal fact, which thwarts numerous accusations made by NATO and Western states” concerning Russia’s alleged “military invasion” in Ukraine.
Muzhenko’s statement carries even more weight considering Ukraine’s Channel 5 television is ironically owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Muzhenko added that he had information about Russian individuals fighting in the country’s east, but that has nothing to do with the Russian military being involved.
The vast majority of eastern Ukraine is Russian speaking and volunteers have come to support the ethnic Russian Ukrainian rebels not only from Russia but also from other countries, bringing humanitarian aid as well as fighting alongside them.
American mercenaries have already been identified fighting on the Ukrainian government’s side.
After overthrowing Ukraine’s democratically elected president, Viktor Yanukovych, the illegal Kiev government began a military assault on eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk and Lugansk regions in April 2014, after they refused to recognize the country’s new, Western-backed authorities.
Since the start of Kiev’s military operation, Ukraine and Western states have repeatedly alleged that Russia has a military presence in the country’s east.
Moscow has refuted those claims on multiple occasions.
On Janauary 21, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called on those making these claims to prove them.
“I say it every time: If you are so sure in stating that, confirm it with facts,” said Lavrov.
“But no one can or wants to provide them.”
The next day the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) also confirmed it had not registered any movement of military vehicles at the Russia-Ukraine border checkpoints it observes.
The good news is that not all in Europe want war with Russia.
On February 5, French President Francois Hollande announced at a news conference, “Together with [German Chancellor] Angela Merkel we have decided to take a new initiative.”
Without informing Washington, the two European leaders met with Poroshenko on that day, declaring that a ceasefire was possible in Eastern Ukraine.
On February 6, Hollande and Merkel then flew to Moscow to meet with Russia’s president Vladimir Putin, where after late-night talks they agreed on the blueprint for a peace plan.
Merkel then flew to Washington on February 9 to propose the peace plan to President Barack Obama, who chose to remain undecided on the issue until after further high-stakes talks.
For the moment, Obama favored maintaining the sanctions against Russia and proposing an ultimatum to Putin, who already stated he refuses to accept ultimatums.
Muzhenko’s statement seems to have fallen on deaf ears in Washington.
While Hollande and Merkel were busy brokering a peace deal, Secretary of State John Kerry was in Kiev pitching an arms sale deal.
Kerry maintains “Russian aggression” is the greatest threat to Ukraine and told journalists it was impossible to ignore “tanks crossing the border from Russia.”
Regardless of the complete lack of evidence, Washington and the mainstream media insist that Putin invaded and annexed Crimea, although 97% of Crimeans had voted to secede in a referendum.
They also claim that Putin had Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 shot down, although an overwhelming abundance of evidence indicates that Kiev did it, and that Russia is now invading Ukraine, although Ukraine’s army chief says Russia is not.
For this, Washington seeks to impose tougher sanctions and supply more weapons to Ukraine to help fend off a non-existent Russian invasion.
Adding insult to injury, the illegal coup that overthrew the legitimate Ukrainian government and started the current civil war was mostly financed by Washington.
In December, the United States Senate and House unanimously passed legislation that authorized sending arms to Kiev. Obama signed the measure into law but it gave him leeway over when to implement it.
War hawks on the left and right continue to push Obama to escalate the conflict and sell more arms.
“The Ukrainians are being slaughtered and we’re sending them blankets and meals,” said Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) recently. “Blankets don’t do well against Russian tanks.”

Then along comes the general of the whole Ukrainian army - appointed by Poroshenko - who was appointed by Obama.

Just for fun, I've wanted to see how she would lead the UC System. The security is certainly there.
Getting tired of opening my purse when I attend UCSB's Soccer Games. Guess I won't be buying tickets this year just to watch the security looking up in the stands instead of watching the games.

High Fructose Corn Syrup Now Labeled as Fructose or HFCS-90


The Corn Refiners Association is now labeling high fructose corn syrup as fructose. Packing on products such as General Mills Vanilla Chex cereal now states the product contains no high fructose corn syrup, while the ingredients list contains the simple word, "fructose." This fructose is actually a manufactured sugar called HFCS-90, and is made up of 90% pure fructose. High fructose corn syrup, or HFCS, contains 42% or 55 percent fructose. Health issues relating to free fructose include diabetes, leaky gut syndrome, and liver failure.
The Corn Refiners Association states,"...HFCS-90 is sometimes used in natural and 'light' foods, where very little is needed to provide sweetness. Syrups with 90% fructose will not state high fructose corn syrup on the label [anymore], they will state 'fructose' or 'fructose syrup

Sustainability on Steroids: Organic Farmer Grosses $100K an Acre

We need GMOs to feed the world like a fish needs dry land. A controversial farmer in California is proving that a veritable bumper crop can be had using new farming methods that don’t require GMO pesticides, herbicides, or even weeding, and require 10 times less water than the average farm. The best part – he earned $100K per acre last season without even harvesting all of his land.
What kind of super-fertilizer allows Paul Kaiser to grow so much food on a mere 8 acres? Lot’s of rotten food scraps and rotten plants – otherwise known as compost. And he uses loads of it.
He uses farming practices both old, and cutting-edge-new so well that agricultural specialists from University of California at Davis who have tested his top soil can drive a four-foot steel pole all the way through his fields. This, as opposed to most parts of California, where it would hit infertile hard-pan in less than 12 inches.
Last year, Kaiser’s farm located in Sonoma Valley, CA grossed more than $100,000 an acre, too. This is ten times the average for most farmers of this area, even in lucrative wine-country.
His farm is no mega-farm, either. At just under 8 acres, he is beating even other large organic farms because the soil is still so damaged in other conventional and organic farms alike. He is certainly out-performing Big Ag methods of farming as his unique farming practices have turned the soil into a goldmine.
Kaiser follows what he calls the 3 main rules of soil health: Keep roots in the ground as much as possible, keep the soil covered as much as possible, and disturb the soil as little as possible.
Kaiser also doesn’t plow his fields (which means a lot less work) and he uses around 10 times less water than his peers. His neighbors still run sprinklers, but he waters for about an hour a week, using almost exclusively drip irrigation. This means that while California is still recovering from a drought, most farmers are watering the air – since most of the water is lost to evaporation. Kaiser is watering – how novel an idea – just his plants.
