No, America Is Not a Great Nation

No, America Is Not a Great Nation

Letter from someone looking for some positive vibes:
Dear Matt,
I love your writing. I’ve been reading and supporting you from the beginning. Thanks for all you do! My question is more optimistic. I believe a lot of bad things are happening in the country right now but with July 4th coming up, it’s important to remember that AMERICA IS STILL GREAT! Sometimes people need that hopeful and encouraging message. I know you’re upset with the way things are going, but can you write something for July 4th reminding everyone that America is still a great nation… and the best in the world? I think we all need to hear something hopeful like that! That’s the criticism of you that I hear all the time… you need to be more hopeful! Tells us the GOOD things about America! Thanks!
Sincerely,
Mike

Mike......... Thanks for writing.

I’m sorry but I can’t give you exactly what you want, unless you want something better and truer than the sort of fraudulent “hopefulness” and “optimism” most people seek these days. They want the brand of cheap, commodified hope you get from a 30-second video where a guy finds his lost dog or whatever and at the end tries to sell you beer. They want the inspiration of a viral marketing video. They want it like funnel cake: sweet, empty and quickly digested.

I could give you that, but I won’t. I could write patronizing, pandering nonsense telling you everything is fine, this country is awesome, and the future will be bright and filled with lollipops and puppy dog farts. But what good would it do, besides win me some PR points? If you want hope, it needs to be planted firmly in truth, or else it’s like administering morphine while you die of kidney failure. It’ll make you feel better for a time, but it won’t save you.

Here’s the truth: I am not happy with this country, and you shouldn’t be, either. I am disappointed in it.  It disgraces itself. It turns from God. It kills its young. It attacks the family. Am I supposed to pretend otherwise just for the sake of being festive?

While Michelle Obama felt pride in 'her' nation for the first time recently, I am more and more developing a deep anger at it, and I think it’s time I admit that out loud. I’m a patriot but to borrow from Chesterton, a patriot who is uncritical of his country while it teeters on the edge of total destruction is like a son who doesn’t warn his mother that she’s about to fall off a cliff. In this case, however, we already fell off the cliff. We are shattered on the rocks below, and I’m truly not certain if we can be repaired.

You want me to get into the holiday spirit and remind everyone that America is still great, but I don’t know, Mike, does a great country murder a million babies every year?
Does a great country ignore its own laws and tear its Constitution to pieces?
Does a great country become among the first in human civilization to dismantle the institution of marriage in favor of legitimizing sexual perversion?
Is a great country so confused that it can’t tell the difference between male and female?
Does the nuclear family collapse in a great country?
Does a great country have historically high rates of divorce, unwed pregnancy and fatherless homes?
Do little girls get IUDs implanted in them by school officials without parental consent in a great country?
Do citizens burn down their own cities in a great country?
Is moral relativism the cultural driving force in a great country?
Are churches empty in a great country?
Do one in every five citizens favor forcing priests to perform gay weddings in a great country?
Is pornography a billion-dollar industry in a great country?
Are there 110 million cases of STDs in a great country?
Are college students unable to name the vice president but able to chug a fifth of vodka in a great country?
Is higher education overrun by feminists and nihilists in a great country?
Is apathy endemic in a great country?
Does the average person watch five hours of TV a day in a great country?
Are people threatened, fired, attacked, belittled and ripped to shreds for having differing opinions in a great country?
Do young adults ransack stores just for fun in a great country?
Do schools teach kids how to masturbate but forget to teach them how to read in a great country ?
Is “50 Shades of Grey” a best-seller in a great country?
Does Christianity decline in a great country?
Are soldiers forced to sit in classrooms and listen to lectures about “white privilege” in a great country?
Has the gay agenda so infiltrated even the military that now officers are chased out of their jobs for telling lesbians to stop french-kissing while in uniform in a great country?
Does the government hand out birth control to children in a great country?
Do illegal immigrants stream over the border at will in a great country?
Are 151 million people on the government dole in a great country?
Do a majority of Americans vote for Barack Obama twice in a great country?
Does a great country laugh at morality, reject reality and worship cross-dressers?
Do adults in a great country so lack even the most rudimentary knowledge of their own great country that they can’t even explain why their great country celebrates the Fourth of July?
Is this what happens in a great country?
If so, what’s so great about being great? Where is the optimism in that miserable greatness? Where is the hope for the future if moral bankruptcy, selfishness, confusion, stupidity, deviancy and failure are “great.

This is why I’m surprised liberals are still out burning American flags. What are they upset about? This country has been reshaped in their image. They won the culture, the government, academia, the media, even the churches. This is their America. They own it. Yet they aren’t satisfied because liberalism, like its father satan, is intent only on destruction and consumption. It will never be satiated.

You might say most of the examples I provided have to do with America’s people, not America herself. But the distinction is irrelevant because a democracy is only as great as its people. Meanwhile, our government is corrupt and feckless, and our political leaders are cowardly and self-serving. Yes, the Constitution is great, but it’s still just a set of laws. If laws are ignored, they might as well not exist. The Bill of Rights can’t make us great if we don’t follow it, just like your running shoes can’t make you fit if you don’t put them on and go for a jog.

So in what way is America great at the moment? Are we a moral beacon for the world now? Where is the rest of the world supposed to locate that shining light of moral clarity? Is it somewhere buried under the dead children and the perversion and the porn and the divorce and the drugs and the disease and the dependency and the Nanny State socialism? What about leadership in government, or education, or the home? Is American culture great in these respects?

Face it, Mike. Judge America by any measure — moral, political, economic, social, cultural — and none of it points to greatness. Not by a long shot. Not even close. Not any more. Progressivism dominates all of these spheres, and with its rise our greatness diminishes.

You might tell me that some individuals in this nation still preserve and shine that light — particularly veterans and people who serve in other capacities — but are they numerous enough to define our culture? Clearly not. They are great in spite of our society, not through it or because of it.

All that’s left, then, is the past. Because while we’ve declined rapidly, we also rose faster than any country before us. We accomplished incredible things. We stormed beaches, conquered tyrants, built cities.  We invented and pioneered and innovated. We faced down evil and defeated it. We abolished slavery. We established civil rights for all. We beat the Nazis. We extinguished communism. We earned the title of a land of opportunity.

A God-fearing land, we went to church.  We raised our families.  We worked, we loved, we prayed.

Look, I’m not idolizing the past. But it’s a matter of historical record that America was a great country, and an exceptional one. And it’s also a fact that the historical record is just that — history. We have to stop resting on the laurels of our great-grandparents and pretending that some how, because they came off the boat from wherever and persevered through the Depression, we get to mooch off their greatness for eternity. Frankly, our great-grandparents would be disgusted at our country now, and ashamed of it, and of us. Their greatness was their own. We don’t deserve it and have not earned it.

I know I might sound similar to that famous rant from the HBO show “The Newsroom” a few years back.  In that clip, Jeff Daniels goes on a tirade about the failures of America, but Daniels made his case that we aren’t “the greatest” by comparing our health and economic status to other nations. Personally, I think money has very little to do with true greatness one way or another. And in any event, I’m not worried about stacking us up against other places.

People say to me, “Yeah, things are bleak, but it’s still better than Mexico, North Korea, etc.” I’m sure it is. But greatness isn’t attained by simply staying one step above the pitiful things around you. If nobody in the room can read or write, and you manage to compose one semi-coherent sentence, that doesn’t make you Shakespeare. If you want to be Shakespeare, you have to strive for brilliance no matter how brilliant or idiotic everyone else happens to be.

“Yeah, but what about all the other countries and their problems?” OK, what’s your point? If that makes you suddenly cool with a nation that slaughters children and corrupts the institution of marriage, fine. Way to maintain high standards for the country you supposedly love. But, me, I want better for my homeland. When I love something — and I do love my country — I want it to be actually great, not just great compared to Somalia.

And what makes a nation great anyway? I’d say economic status plays some small part in it.  Liberties are important.  The way the government functions, laws, industries, military — all of these are factors. But I’ll tell you this: In the end, the nation that sends the most people to heaven is the greatest. Period.

No nation is truly great if it leads its citizens away from truth and away from God. It’s as simple as that. You find a country where most of the citizens — the culture itself, predominately — is directed toward God, toward a humble, moral life, toward truth, and you have found a great nation. I don’t care what else it has going for it. I don’t care if it the life expectancy is 27 and it doesn’t have a standing army or WiFi. If the conditions in the country are such that people are living a moral, God-centered life, it is a great country.

I’m not saying we should be a theocracy. I’m not saying the 'president’s' job is to get me to heaven. I’m just saying the purpose of life is to stand in truth, be holy and see God. A culture oriented toward that purpose is great. A culture that is not, is not.

Now I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to add the caveat, “America isn’t great, but it can be great again!” or some such slogan.

Yesterday someone on Twitter told me that America will “always” be great, no matter what happens or what we do. Others have insisted it’s divine destiny that America reclaim its greatness. But this kind of talk isn’t patriotic; it’s paganism. It paints this country like it’s literally the Kingdom of God. As if, out of all the thousands of countries that have existed since the dawn of time, ours is the first that really will last forever. This is to make Americanism into a religion. It’s idolatry. It’s foolishness, especially considering the Romans and the Greeks felt exactly the same way yet even they were evidently wrong.

We have no guarantees, nor should we seek them. The Lord, in His wisdom, might see fit to smite America from the Earth, like Sodom and Gomorrah. Can’t say I’d blame Him. Or maybe He will lead us through this dark age to true greatness. I don’t know.

Here’s what I do know, and here’s the hopeful part: Our priority has to be our families and our souls. The fate of the country or the globe has not been put entirely, or even mostly, in our individual hands. But we have profound jurisdiction over the fate of our families, the spiritual state of our children, whether our households serve the Lord, and whether we serve the Lord. That’s our hope for the future. Right there.

We can find greatness if we strive for holiness. We have to. We are entering an age where only the great Christians will spiritually survive. It’s a scary time, but if we heed the call to holiness, we can find immense joy. That’s what I want for my children, though I fear for them quite a bit these days. I can’t imagine what this country will look like in 30 or 40 years. Maybe things will have turned around, but honestly I really doubt it. So all I can do is hold them close, try to be a better father to them and a better husband to my wife, and equip them as best I can for what comes next.

I believe strongly that real persecution awaits us down the road. I think my children will face hostility and opposition and maybe even violence on a level I haven’t yet seen. We are heading into very challenging times, but if we keep our families together and our hearts with God, we’ll be OK. No matter what happens, we’ll be OK. And, by extension, if we pour ourselves into our families and into our faith, we might be able to rescue this culture and this country from the clutches of progressive annihilation. It won’t happen quickly, and I don’t know if it will happen at all, but I know there’s a chance. America is not lost completely. Not yet.

So find strength in the Lord. Love your spouse and your children like Christ loves the Church. Be a leader in your home. Be willing to sacrifice everything for your family. Be unwilling to sacrifice your soul for anything. Confront the reality of our current state and accept that you will be asked to endure a lot of pain and persecution.

Pray. Remember what America was. Remember who God is. Remember who you are and why you’re here and that you were put here in this time for a reason. And that will be your hope and mine. It’s all the hope we need. It’s not sappy, it’s not sweet, it won’t fit in a Dove commercial, but it’s real.

The greatness of America is determined by its culture, and its culture by its people, and its people by their love for God. If we can become better, more virtuous, and train our children in the ways of the Lord, maybe many years from now — perhaps when you and I are dead and buried — America will be able to call herself a great country.

Until then, we can only pray that God gives us the strength for whatever comes. And come it will. So be it.
God bless America.

Happy Independence Day, Mike

America's Demise

I was praying in my morning prayer time about what is to befall America in light of the Supreme Court ruling attempting to redefine God's original design for marriage when I saw a beautiful woman, a Miss America with a gorgeous smile, as she was waving to all the other nations of the world. Then I saw a close up of her smile and I saw as it turned to a filthy mouth full of rotted teeth. As I watched, I saw the body attached to the mouth take a terrible blow and it became the still, open mouth of death. And then I heard the Lord say:

The pangs of America's demise have begun. Your nation was once a great  joy to Me and to its people but no more for she has chosen to mock Me.  Now I shall laugh at her derision and at her calamity

Her calamities shall be many for she is, even now, being quietly invaded by her enemies. The rumblings of war shall be heard in her streets, and there will be much bloodshed in this country. As she has shed the blood of others, now shall she also bleed

She will suffer disaster after disaster, each one leaving her weaker, until at last she can no longer fight, and so shall her light be extinguished.  So shall she be left desolate.

Proverbs 1:26  I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Psalm 79:4  We are become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us

Leviticus 26:43  The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes

Proverbs 14:34  Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Federal official rips Obama as 'worst,' 'amateur,' 'Marxist'

'No country in the world would allow' influx of illegal aliens

President Obama is an “amateur,” a “Marxist” and the “worst” 'president' ever" charged a federal official responsible for protecting public health.

That’s according to internal email messages obtained by Judicial Watch, the Washington watchdog on government.

Judicial Watch said the emails were obtained as part of a review of the activation of a Centers for Disease Control Emergency Operations Center that was intended to “deal with the barrage of illegal alien minors” that arrived in the U.S. in 2014.

Some of the thousands of illegal alien youths have carried dangerous contagious diseases that had been considered eradicated in the U.S., such as swine flu, dengue fever, possibly the Ebola virus and tuberculosis.
The records included emails between agency officials working at the center, Judicial Watch said.

In an email dated June 9, 2014, CDC Logistics Management Specialist George Roark wrote to CDC Public Health Adviser William Adams that “no country in the world would allow” the influx of illegal aliens, Judicial Watch said.

Adams replied that “in ten years or less, they’ll all be voting,” which is “Commander’s intent."

Roark then wrote Obama is “the worst 'president' we have ever had … he truly is ‘the amateur’ but a Marxist, too."

Other images have been posted by Judicial Watch.

JW reported in a June 18, 2014 email that CDC Intelligence Analyst Daniel Bubacz described the situation as a “Leave No Child on the other Side of the Border Policy."

The report said the center is part of a special CDC division founded after the 9/11 attacks, and it already has responded to dozens of public health threats, including hurricanes.

“It’s a major and costly operation that can stick American taxpayers with a huge tab,” the report said.

That’s why JW launched a probe when the Obama administration took in the illegal immigrants, initially coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), with open arms last summer."

The organization also has sued the Department of Homeland Security to obtain planning records regarding the border crisis as well as information related to the solicitation of “on-demand escort services” for the 65,000 UACs that remain in the U.S.

Here’s What Happened to the Men Who Signed the Declaration of Independence

Many of them lost everything they had
Here's What Happened to the Men Who Signed the Declaration of Independence
Have you ever wondered what happened to some of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence?
  • Richard Stockton was taken prisoner for signing the Declaration and imprisoned in New York City's infamous Provost Jail.
  • John Witherspoon saw his eldest son, James, killed during the Battle of Germantown.
  • A number of signers saw their homes and property taken, looted, and destroyed by the British.
  • Philip Livingston sacrificed what was left of his wealth to support the war effort and likely died penniless.
  • Abraham Clark saw two of his sons captured by the British and incarcerated on the prison ship Jersey, with little hope of surviving.
  • Francis Lewis' estate was raided by the British and his wife was taken prisoner.
  • John Hart's farm was also raided and he spent time surviving in the woods.
Think about everything you own and your personal relationships and imagine losing most, if not all, of them. That is the sacrifice these men had to take in the defense of liberty.
And now many Americans are completely clueless about the American Revolution and why we celebrate Independence Day:

Philosophy and humor mixed with a bit of truth

The Clarity of Philosophy:
"It is only when you see a mosquito landing on your testicles that you realize there is always a way to solve problems without using violence.”  Lao-Tzu

All too rarely, airline attendants make an effort to make the in flight "safety lecture" and announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported:

1. On a Southwest flight 245 (SW has no assigned seating, you just sit where you want) passengers were apparently having a hard time choosing, when a flight attendant announced, "People, people we're not picking out furniture here, find a seat and get in it!"

2. On a Continental Flight with a very "senior" flight attendant crew, the pilot said, "Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendants."

3. On landing, the stewardess said, "Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you're going to leave anything, please make sure it's something we'd like to have.

4. "There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane"

5. "Thank you for flying Delta Business Express. We hope you enjoyed giving us the business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride."

6. As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Ronald Reagan, a lone voice came over the loudspeaker: "Whoa, big fella. WHOA!"

7. After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in Memphis, a flight attendant on a Northwest flight announced, "Please take care when opening the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as hell everything has shifted."

8. From a Southwest Airlines employee: "Welcome aboard Southwest Flight 245 to Tampa. To operate your seat belt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seat belt; and, if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised."

9. "In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you h ave a small child traveling w! ith you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with more than one small child, pick your favorite."

10. "Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some broken clouds, but we'll try to have them fixed before we arrive. Thank you, and remember, nobody loves you, or your money, more than Southwest Airlines."

11. "Your seat cushions can be used for flotation; and, in the event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with our compliments."

12. "As you exit the plane, make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses."

13. And from the pilot during his welcome message: "Delta Airlines is pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on this flight!"

14. Heard on Southwest Airlines just after a very hard landing in Salt Lake City the flight attendant came on the intercom and said, "That was quite a bump, and I know what y'all are thinking. I'm here to tell you it wasn't the airline's fault, it wasn't the pilot's fault, it wasn't the flight attendant's fault, it was the asphalt."

15. Overheard on an American Airlines flight into Amarillo, Texas, on a particularly windy and bumpy day: During the final approach, the Captain was really having to fight it. After an extremely hard landing, the Flight Attendant said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Amarillo. Please remain in your seats with your seat belts fastened while the Captain taxis what's left of our airplane to the gate!"

16. Another flight attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing: "We ask you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us to the terminal."

17 An airline pilot wrote that on this particular flight he had hammered his ship into the runway really hard. The airline had a policy which required the first officer to stand at the door while the Passengers exited, smile, and give them a "Thanks for flying o! ur airli ne." He said that, in light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the passenger s in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart comment. Finally everyone had gotten off except for a little old lady walking with a cane. She said, "Sir, do you mind if I ask you a question?" "Why, no, Ma'am," said the pilot. "What is it?" The little old lady said, "Did we land, or were we shot down?"

18. After a real crusher of a landing in Phoenix, the attendant came on with, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain in your seats until Capt. Crash and the Crew have brought the aircraft to a screeching halt against the gate. And, once the tire smoke has cleared and the warning bells are silenced, we'll open the door and you can pick your way through the wreckage to the terminal."

19. Part of a flight attendant's arrival announcement: "We'd like to thank you folks for flying with us today. And, the next time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the skies in a pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of US Airways"

20. Heard on a Southwest Airline flight. "Ladies and gentlemen, if you wish to smoke, the smoking section on this airplane is on the wing and if you can light 'em, you can smoke 'em."

21. A plane was taking off from! Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number 293, nonstop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax.. OH, MY GOD!" Silence followed, and after a few minutes, the captain came back on the interco m and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier. While I was talking to you, the flight attendant accidentally spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap You should see the front of my pants!" A passenger in Coach yelled, "That's nothing. You should see the back of mine."

After every flight,   UPS pilots   fill out a form, called a 'gripe sheet,' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft.
The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

Former Salesman For Vaccine Maker Merck & Co. Wouldn’t Vaccinate His Son

Published on May 28, 2015

“If you believe what you are told by the AMA and the CDC and your doctor, you’re not doing enough research.” In 1991 Scott Cooper and
his wife researched vaccine safety and efficacy, determined vaccines
are NOT safe or effective, and refused to vaccinate their son.

Interestingly, their son was much healthier than his vaccinated peers throughout childhood. At the time, Scott worked as a sales rep for
Merck & Co., a large vaccine manufacturer, and he had dived deep
into researching vaccines and the risk associated with vaccination.

His Pediatrician was befuddled that Scott would not vaccinate, especially because he worked for a large vaccine manufacturer! His son continues to be healthy, and Scott and his wife have no regrets about not vaccinating their son.

Brazil investigates currency market rigging by 15 global banks

Thomson ReutersA man walks past a board showing the Real-U.S. dollar exchange rates in Rio de Janeiro
By Guillermo Parra-Bernal and Walter Brandimarte
SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil antitrust watchdog Cade opened on Thursday an investigation over alleged currency rigging by a group of 15 global banks, the first of its kind in one of the world's busiest foreign exchange markets.
In a statement, Cade said the banks colluded to influence benchmark currency rates in Brazil by aligning positions and pushing transactions in a way that deterred competitors from the market between 2007 and 2013, at least. Traders who described themselves as "The Cartel" or "The Mafia" used online chat rooms to fix their positions ahead of market trades.
The Brazilian investigation comes weeks after six of the world's largest financial institutions agreed to pay $5.8 billion to the U.S. government to settle charges of currency rigging. The U.S. probe took more than five years, and five of those banks pleaded guilty. Some of those banks are being probed by Cade.
Foreign exchange trading in Brazil is estimated at about $3 trillion a year, excluding swaps and derivative transactions.
Globally, currency trading is estimated at around $4.7 trillion a day and has been targeted in recent government probes in Europe, the United States and Japan. The probes allege that banks privilege the execution of their own currency trades at the expense of client orders, a fact exacerbated by the fact that those deals often take place away from exchanges.
The banks in the Cade probe are Bank of America Merrill Lynch , Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ [MTFGTY.UL], Barclays Plc , Citigroup Inc , Credit Suisse Group AG , Deutsche Bank AG , HSBC Holdings Plc , JPMorgan Chase & Co , Morgan Stanley & Co , Nomura Holdings Inc , Royal Bank of Canada , Royal Bank of Scotland Group , Standard Bank Group Ltd , Standard Chartered Plc and UBS AG .
THIRTY PEOPLE
UBS and Standard Chartered declined to comment. JPMorgan, Standard Bank, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Citigroup, Tokyo-Mitsubishi and HSBC did not have an immediate comment. Efforts to reach the other lenders were not immediately successful.
The media office from Cade said that the ongoing probe derived from similar probes in the United States, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, highlighting the growing importance of international cooperation in efforts to root out different forms of market rigging.
Brasilia-based Cade is also investigating 30 individuals that might have participated in actions aimed at manipulating the price of U.S. dollars and other currencies in Brazil.
"The alleged conducts might have put in danger free competition in this market and hampered terms and prices for clients in their exchange rate transactions, in order to boost profits for the firms involved and distort benchmark indexes," the statement added.
In a separate document posted on its Web site, Cade said traders probably front-ran client orders and pushed through trades that affected the way benchmarks like Brazil's PTax and WM/Reuters rates were set. They might have also colluded to fix spreads on client trades, unveil spot and future trades that should have been kept confidential and even deal flow volume data, the document added.
Benchmarks like the PTax or the WM/Reuters are used by investment firms to value their assets on a day-to-day basis.
The trades were shared and discussed in online chats through Bloomberg terminals, Cade said. Bloomberg LP and Thomson Reuters, the parent company of Reuters News, compete in the financial information market, providing analytical and communication tools for investment professionals.
Both Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters declined to comment on the Cade investigation.
The real gained 1.2 percent to 3.1103 reais to the dollar on Thursday.

John Adams: “It’s done!”

John Adams: “It’s done!”

An Announcement for All Americans and All Other People Affected
On the 239th Anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence

Voila_Capture 2015-07-03_05-59-53_PM
Echoing John Adams regarding the Declaration of Independence and the unanimous vote in favor of independence — “It’s done!”
The culmination of over thirty years of correspondence, inquiries, researches, collaborations, meetings, document requests, etc., etc., etc., —- all strangely ending in the publication of a comic book— it is done.
The Comic Book is now available from Amazon.com. The title is “You Know Something Is Wrong When…..An American Affidavit of Probable Cause” by Anna Maria Riezinger and James Clinton Belcher, illustrated by Paul Allen Snover.

         We feel oddly at peace.

We have ferreted out the truth and boiled it down into a form that everyone everywhere can understand, and from here on it becomes the problem of the whole world to solve.
It will be interesting to some to know that James Clinton Belcher is descended from the same family that founded Princeton University and whose family Coat of Arms became the basis of the Great Seal of the United States. I have royal blood considerably bluer than the Danube—which under the present circumstance is not bragging.
We were predisposed to be concerned by poor governance in the same way that terriers are disposed to go after rats and mongooses do not need to think about attacking cobras.
We knew that something was wrong, just as millions of others have known, but we were more motivated—indeed, driven by some inner compulsion— to unravel the knots and pull back the curtains.
James is Catholic. I am Lutheran. Paul is Mormon.
We all happen to be white, but it wouldn’t make any difference to anyone here what color we were. It’s all the same issues, all the same struggle.
Realizing that we have been defrauded and enslaved by people on our own payroll is both sobering and embarrassing. How could such a circumstance arise?
Well, read the comic book. There you will find it described, blow by blow and play by play down the current moment. Read it now and pass it on, so that you and your families are prepared to ask the right questions and take the right actions.
Send copies to the various Congressional Delegations and those claiming to be your agents and presently occupying offices in federal “State” governments. Let no stone remain unturned and no excuse of plausible deniability remain.
The Comic Book is divided into twelve sections. The first eleven deal briefly with the history of how we got into this mess, how the fraud works, and who is responsible.
The twelfth section gets down to the specifics of the crimes involved and the organizations we believe are fundamentally responsible in the present day. We have incurred the losses to validate our own standing to sue and also to establish the basis for the equal claims we have made for all living Americans and for their states on the land known as the Continental United States.
We didn’t forget about the rest of you. We didn’t sell out and accept “relief” for ourselves.
It is well past time for this System of things to end, and with our Will we establish that it should be so, that all men and women should be free, and should have the enjoyment of all their Natural Rights, and an equal share in the Sacred Trust we are all heir to.
The same system that has infected and corrupted America infected and corrupted Great Britain during the reign of Queen Victoria. It spread like a virus to all the former Commonwealth nations and from there to a greater or lesser extent has impacted the entire planet.
Thus, though the names attached to pieces of legislation and the dates enacted are different, the actual process remains the same. What began with the Enfranchisement Acts in Britain was mirrored in the Reconstruction Acts in America.
In America the Social Security System was foisted off on the living people and misrepresented as a government mandate resulting in everyone having a Social Security Number (SSN). In Canada the same playbook results in a Social Insurance Number (SIN). And so it goes around the world.
At the end of the day it all boils down to garden variety fraud by corporations in our employment—fraud that any county sheriff can recognize. Reduced to the facts it is nothing so exotic at all. It was simply buried deeply in tons of old, musty, distasteful records and dutifully obscured by generations of lawyers and self-interested banks and bureaucrats.
We are all suffering from identity theft and press-ganging, unlawful conversion, enslavement, and inland piracy, conspiracy against the Constitution, misprision of felony, mischaracterization, personage, barratry, fraudulent conveyance, felony level breach of trust, semantic deceit, and mail fraud— to name a few.
All the billions we’ve spent on security, law enforcement, and military protection have been wasted, because under the thrall and influence of the Bar Associations acting in Breach of Trust, none of the many agencies that have received the benefit of our support have functioned properly. The FBI, US Marshals, local police— even the American Armed Forces— have been useless against nothing more than sophisticated lies and legal chicanery perpetuated by bankers, lawyers, and politicians acting in collusion to defraud their employers and benefactors: the living Americans, Canadians, Brits, Germans, Japanese, Australians…..and the list goes on.
The first edition of “You Know Something Is Wrong When……An American Affidavit of Probable Cause” available on Amazon.com is a high quality paperback available either in black and white or color. The color version is mostly black and white, except that it shows the seals and custom coats of arms used to seal the charges in color.
The complaint has been issued in three parts including three separate actions and has demonstrated (1) dishonor and violation of Canon Law via Dishonor of our Ecclesiastical Deed Poll; (2) Commercial and Administrative Default and Dishonor via acquiescence under Due Process (Maritime/Admiralty and Equity); (3) violation of the Public Law, Law of the Land, Martial Law and Natural Law.
The perpetrators are now subject to suit in all these venues and richly deserve prosecution from all sides, except for one mitigating factor. Very few people knew that they were doing anything wrong, and most of those who suspected that they might be doing something wrong either weren’t sure or thought that it was a different kind of wrong-doing.
Colonel House, one of the ringleaders responsible, boasted that “not one in a million” would recognize the fraud for what it was. He was probably close in that estimation, which leaves about 400 guilty parties and about 400 more who are capable of tracking their actions and holding them to account at any given time since then (1920’s).
In cleaning this mess up it behooves all of us to look deeply and soul search and ask— “Where was I when all this was going on?” It also behooves us to show mercy to all those who have acted in ignorance, under threat, and without knowing intent to harm or defraud.
It is often said that “Ignorance of the law is no excuse.”— However, ignorance induced by fraudulent misrepresentation of the law and non-disclosure of identities of parties to contract and semantic deceit are all very good justifications for wiping a slate clean.
Justice, which is always a balance, is like a knife. It has two sides and cuts both ways. We cannot end evil and violence by creating more evil and more violence. In harming others, we always also harm ourselves.
This is the message left to us by Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, JFK, RFK, MLK, and all those who have sought to lead the people of this world upward and forward.
It takes knowledge, compassion, and mercy to overcome ignorance, violence, and greed.
