UNITED States of America - It can now be reported that the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which continues relentless implementation of the Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocols has told Spain and Greece that they can now write off the derivative debt and bad loans linked to crooked U.S. and British banks reference: Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, Barclays Bank of the United Kingdom and none other than the Bank of England.

This derivative debt on the books of Spanish and Greek banks derives from the illegallybundled mortgage-backed securities that were fraudulently marketed and sold to European financial institutions and investors during the period from 2003 through 2007, enabled by the BushFRAUD-Henry Paulson Administration.
Item: The IMF ordered Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocol implementation, which is now occurring across Europe, is targeted to the sovereign treasuries of the European nations and has basically made the European Central Bank (ECB) irrelevant.

Note: The implementation of the Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocols in Europe has now actually strengthened the value of the euro currency to above 132 in the current spot price.

P.S. At this hour, IMF and the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency continue to order massive redemption and repatriation of collateralized assets (eyes over China, India, Japan and especially the Philippines) reference precious and industrialized metals, along with oil and natural gas holdings, as the IMF and the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency continue to move forward on bank consolidation and re-collateraliztion as the crooked derivatives are being written off as fraudulent.

Thanks Dragon :) A bit of history here to help everyone understand money matters..... +++ 41 Facts About The History Of Central Banks In The United States That Our Children Are No Longer Taught In School Published on 11-12-2010 Source: The American Dream Today, most American students don’t even understand what a central bank is, much less that the battle over central banks is one of the most important themes in U.S. history. The truth is that our nation was birthed in the midst of a conflict over taxation and the control of our money. Central banking has played a key role in nearly all of the wars that America has fought. Presidents that resisted the central bankers were shot, while others shamefully caved in to their demands. Our current central bank is called the Federal Reserve and it is about as “federal” as Federal Express is. The truth is that it is a privately-owned financial institution that is designed to ensnare the U.S. government in an endlessly expanding spiral of debt from which there is no escape. The Federal Reserve caused the Great Depression and the Federal Reserve is at the core of our current economic crisis. None of these things is taught to students in America’s schools today. In 2010, young Americans are taught a sanitized version of American history that doesn’t even make any sense. As with so many things, if you want to know what really happened just follow the money. The following are 41 facts about the history of central banks in the United States that every American should know…. #1 As a result of the Seven Years War with France, King George III of England was deeply in debt to the central bankers of England. #2 In an attempt to raise revenue, King George tried to heavily tax the colonies in America. #3 In 1763, Benjamin Franklin was asked by the Bank of England why the colonies were so prosperous, and this was his response…. “That is simple. In the colonies we issue our own money. It is called Colonial Script. We issue it in proper proportion to the demands of trade and industry to make the products pass easily from the producers to the consumers. In this manner, creating for ourselves our own paper money, we control its purchasing power, and we have no interest to pay to no one.” #4 The Currency Act of 1764 ordered the American Colonists to stop printing their own money. Colonial script (the money the colonists were using at the time) was to be exchanged at a two-to-one ratio for “notes” from the Bank of England. #5 Later, in his autobiography, Benjamin Franklin explained the impact that this currency change had on the colonies…. “In one year, the conditions were so reversed that the era of prosperity ended, and a depression set in, to such an extent that the streets of the Colonies were filled with unemployed.” #6 In fact, Benjamin Franklin stated unequivocally in his autobiography that the power to issue currency was the primary reason for the Revolutionary War…. “The colonies would gladly have borne the little tax on tea and other matters had it not been that England took away from the colonies their money, which created unemployment and dissatisfaction. The inability of the colonists to get power to issue their own money permanently out of the hands of George III and the international bankers was the prime reason for the Revolutionary War.” #7 Gouverneur Morris, one of the authors of the U.S. Constitution, solemnly warned us in 1787 that we must not allow the bankers to enslave us…. “The rich will strive to establish their dominion and enslave the rest. They always did. They always will… They will have the same effect here as elsewhere, if we do not, by (the power of) government, keep them in their proper spheres.” #8 Unfortunately, those warning us about the dangers of a central bank did not prevail. After an aborted attempt to establish a central bank in the 1780s, the First Bank of the United States was established in 1791. Alexander Hamilton (who had close ties to the Rothschild banking family) cut a deal under which he would support the move of the nation’s capital to Washington D.C. in exchange for southern support for the establishment of a central bank. #9 George Washington signed the bill creating the First Bank of the United States on April 25, 1791. It was given a 20 year charter. #10 In the first five years of the First Bank of the United States, the U.S. government borrowed 8.2 million dollars and prices rose by 72 percent. #11 The opponents of central banking were not pleased. In 1798, Thomas Jefferson said the following…. “I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution – taking from the federal government their power of borrowing.” #12 In 1811, the charter of the First Bank of the United States was not renewed. #13 One year later, the War of 1812 erupted. The British and the Americans were at war once again. #14 In 1814, the British captured and burned Washington D.C., but the Americans subsequently experienced key victories at New York and at New Orleans. #15 The Treaty of Ghent, officially ending the war, was ratified by the U.S. Senate on February 16th, 1815 and was ratified by the British on February 18th, 1815. #16 In 1816, another central bank was created. The Second Bank of the United States was established and was given a 20 year charter. #17 Andrew Jackson, who became president in 1828, was determined to end the power of the central bankers over the United States. #18 In fact, in 1832, Andrew Jackson’s re-election slogan was “JACKSON and NO BANK!” #19 On July 10th, 1832 President Jackson said the following about the danger of a central bank…. “It is not our own citizens only who are to receive the bounty of our government. More than eight millions of the stock of this bank are held by foreigners… is there no danger to our liberty and independence in a bank that in its nature has so little to bind it to our country? … Controlling our currency, receiving our public moneys, and holding thousands of our citizens in dependence… would be more formidable and dangerous than a military power of the enemy.” #20 In 1835, President Jackson completely paid off the U.S. national debt. He is the only U.S. president that has ever been able to accomplish this. #21 President Jackson vetoed the attempt to renew the charter of the Second Bank of the United States in 1836. #22 Richard Lawrence attempted to shoot Andrew Jackson, but he survived. It is alleged that Lawrence said that “wealthy people in Europe” had put him up to it. #23 The Civil War was another opportunity for the central bankers of Europe to get their hooks into America. In fact, it is claimed that Abraham Lincoln actually contacted Rothschild banking interests in Europe in an attempt to finance the war effort. Reportedly, the Rothschilds were demanding very high interest rates and Lincoln balked at paying them. #24 Instead, Lincoln pushed through the Legal Tender Act of 1862. Under that act, the U.S. government issued $449,338,902 of debt-free money. #25 This debt-free money was known as “Greenbacks” because of the green ink that was used. #26 The central bankers of Europe were not pleased. The following quote appeared in the London Times in 1865…. “If this mischievous financial policy, which has its origin in North America, shall become endurated down to a fixture, then that Government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off debts and be without debt. It will have all the money necessary to carry on its commerce. It will become prosperous without precedent in the history of the world. The brains, and wealth of all countries will go to North America. That country must be destroyed or it will destroy every monarchy on the globe.” #27 Abraham Lincoln was shot dead by John Wilkes Booth on April 14th, 1865. #28 After the Civil War, all money in the United States was created by bankers buying U.S. government bonds in exchange for bank notes. #29 James A. Garfield became president in 1881, and he was a staunch opponent of the banking powers. In 1881 he said the following…. “Whoever controls the volume of money in our country is absolute master of all industry and commerce…and when you realize that the entire system is very easily controlled, one way or another, by a few powerful men at the top, you will not have to be told how periods of inflation and depression originate.” #30 President Garfield was shot about two weeks later by Charles J. Guiteau on July 2nd, 1881. He died from medical complications on September 19th, 1881. #31 In 1906, the U.S. stock market was setting all kinds of records. However, in March 1907 the U.S. stock market absolutely crashed. It is alleged that elite New York bankers were responsible. #32 In addition, in 1907 J.P. Morgan circulated rumors that a major New York bank had gone bankrupt. This caused a massive run on the banks. In turn, the banks started recalling all of their loans. The panic of 1907 resulted in a congressional investigation that ended up concluding that a central bank was “necessary” so that these kinds of panics would never happen again. #33 It took a few years, but the international bankers finally got their central bank in 1913. #34 Congress voted on the Federal Reserve Act on December 22nd, 1913 between the hours of 1:30 AM and 4:30 AM. #35 A significant portion of Congress was either sleeping at the time or was already at home with their families celebrating the holidays. #36 The president that signed the law that created the Federal Reserve, Woodrow Wilson, later sounded like he very much regretted the decision when he wrote the following…. “A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is privately concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men … [W]e have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world–no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men.” #37 Between 1921 and 1929 the Federal Reserve increased the U.S. money supply by 62 percent. This was the time known as “The Roaring 20s”. #38 In addition, highly leveraged “margin loans” became very common during this time period. #39 In October 1929, the New York bankers started calling in these margin loans on a massive scale. This created the initial crash that launched the Great Depression. #40 Rather than expand the money supply in response to this crisis, the Federal Reserve really tightened it up. #41 In fact, it was reported the the U.S. money supply contracted by eight billion dollars between 1929 and 1933. That was an extraordinary amount of money in those days. Over one-third of all U.S. banks went bankrupt. The New York bankers were able to buy up other banks and all kinds of other assets for pennies on the dollar. But are American students being taught any of this today? Of course not. In fact, it is a rare student that can even adequately explain what a central bank is. We have lost so much of what is important about our history. And you know what they say – those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. It is absolutely critical that we educate as many Americans as possible about what is really going on in our financial system and about why we need to make some truly fundamental changes.

"Well, Greetings Everyone! We are so glad that we could get together - we are ecstatic! We see so much Joy everywhere, even if the face looks a little grumpy. The Light is coming so strong, and it is being held more and more by all of the Kingdom members. But we’re here to talk about the humans, all of you, Beloved Ones, who are beings of Light in your natural state, but who put on the uniforms of your humanity in this lifetime, and most all of you in others.

"We are looking at you in all of your Dimensions, and it is that you are very much one with the Light, very much One With Us, and at the same time multi-locating, shall we say - that’s a concept that’s a little bit difficult if you are not used to doing that, we understand that.You’re going to be a lot more used to it when your bodies are altered sufficiently that you become a permanent resident of Higher Dimensionalities - each and every one of you! . And it is that mission that you all came here to participate in, and indeed to push, or support. We were going to say to push forward, and that is accurate, because without you and the Lightworkers it would not be happening!!!

"We want to acknowledge that we had some expectations, as did you, that we would have much more Joy in the world, Peace and prosperity for all, and all of those wondrous things, earlier in this century. As a matter of fact, not long into this century, which you call the 2000–something - 2012 is the year you have now on your calendars, but as you heard, you’ve heard this before, the 9/11 put a really, really big glitch in the plans. Since then, it has been somewhat perplexing, and we know it has perplexed you, that it has taken so long to get to this point of full disclosure. But it’s coming!

"Because it has taken longer in Earth terms, it is that these things are literally bombarding the planet, one right after the other. You cannot look at the Truthful news without having not one, but many, many stories on many different topics. Everyday you get emails - everything from the Truth of your health, and what your body can do and the lies you’ve been told, to world politics and economics. So it is difficult to sort out everything because there are as many different versions as there are reporters and messengers!

"The one thing that the messengers whom you call the channelers are all in agreement on is that Ascension is coming and it’s a really, really big deal. And it’s the biggest deal ever for Planet Earth because it’s never been done before!!! There have been attempts but, you know, blow-ups have happened, and volcanoes and all kinds of things. It is that finally Planet Earth is on the very threshold, you might say, right at the doorway. We applaud all of you for your perseverance in helping to bring this about. We know that many of you have been waiting years, and that it has seemed long and arduous, and there have been many hardships endured.

"When everything changes over - and the information is coming out more and more that it is about to change -as always, no dates, let us just say that between now and the 11-4 there will be what you would call momentous changes. And what this is about is the energy, what this is about is bringing about the Love more and more and more. It is wondrous indeed that you are all going to be millionaires, or whatever, but what is really important is the Love and the return to Love!!!

"To return to Love, you’ve got to get out of fear because that is the low vibration. Love is where you want to go, so you’ve got to leave fear behind. And it is only human to feel as though this involves Freedom, does it not? And it’s not just political Freedom, although that’s a big help; it’s not just Freedom to express your spirituality, you know, without being tortured or burned at the stake, or whatever; it is the Freedom to enjoy the Lifestyle where you do not have to be a slave to some corporation or other, or where you do not have to be without home or food, or fun. Yes, fun!

"Mother Sekhmet is an expert on advising everyone to have more fun, but we’ll tell you right now that things are going to become a lot more fun! When you get your financial Freedom, when you have your abundance, and when you have all of the things that you desire to have of a material kind - although you really don’t need any of that to ascend, we want to make that real clear, even though we plan on giving it to you, you don’t need it to ascend - what you need to ascend is Love! That’s it - Be the Love!!!

"This is something that has not always been the main focus, we understand that. We understand that you have families to feed or people to care for, or whatever, and so it’s easy to get distracted away. What we want to tell you is, you have a saying – it’s 'the eleventh hour,' and we’re just suggesting that no matter what your Lifestyle is in this moment, just envision it when you are truly free and then start filling it with Love - Love of all kinds, of all expressions, as long as it’s unconditional. You need to get up and out of this 3D thing, like, 'Well, if you really love me you would by me the biggest diamond in the store,' because that’s not really Love, is it?

"If someone gives you a gift and they say, 'I love you, here is a gift,' that’s Love. That’s a beautiful expression of Love, but the gift doesn’t have to be the biggest diamond in the store. It can be a beautiful seashell that they picked up and that the seashell said, 'Take this to the one you love!' You see what we are saying? It’s not that possessions themselves have real value beyond 3D, but Love is the most valuable, the most powerful, and the highest and best energy in the Universe.

"And so it is Love in all ways that you can possibly express it, and if it means sharing some kind of physical possession, by all means; if it means sharing some dollars, by all means, express in that way! That is beautiful when it is unconditional! It is to get yourselves into the highest vibration and stay there! And if you have a moment where you say something that is angry or upsetting, it’s all right, what you’ve got to do is to remember to love yourself no matter how you express - that’s a biggie!!!

"Now, we’ve got some things to tell you about clearing, and I have no desire to, shall we say, steal what Sekhmet is going to present in words, but I’m just going to tell you some general things. You need to understand that many of you, in fact all of you, have something that goes back to a period in the history/herstory of Planet Earth which is pretty grim. It’s not exactly what you would call great expression of Love, it was the opposite for many of you.

"It makes no difference what the role was that you played, you have all played many, many roles, everything from the darkest to the whitest of hats, because you needed to do that. It was your mission, your contract, your experience so that you would know how it feels and what it looks like from every perspective. This is what education is really all about. It was you educating yourselves through your experiences! That’s it. But for many of you there is a period in the history/herstory of Planet Earth where you lived, and it was a pretty long period that went from Atlantis, actually, up through the modern day. It is that you have had some traumas from the major historical events which have occurred. You have played roles which have traumatized you.

"Now, those of you who have engaged in the process of peeling the onions, and this is perhaps a little far-fetched, but think about it, when you peel an onion you sometimes cry, do you not? Go ahead and cry if something comes up to you! Do not bury it, do not stuff it. It’s coming up because you need to look at it, and furthermore, you need to get to a place with it where you understand the Love that it presents to you. This is a toughie, we know that. You will find that when you can love yourself through whatever it is that you did, whatever experience comes up to you, you will have evolved yourselves, you will be holding more light and you will feel lighter, because you are!!! It’s what you call Ascension Preparation, and we’re all on this Path with you! We have come to be with you!

"When you are in high vibration, it is so wondrous, because then we are in Communion, we are communicating connectedness and we are together in the Oneness of Joy and unconditional Love!!! So we suggest something that might be a little bit out there, or seeming extreme to some of you. Remember we are here with you, so reach out, hold our hands. This is what is going to be made available for you all to do if you would choose to do it, and we will tell you it can be done. We gave The Voice a demonstration of this last night, as a matter of fact. She asked for it and we gave it, and it was quite a shock but it worked out just fabulously well, and it will for all of you!

"We are going to give you an opportunity to invite yourselves to look deeper into the onion, to peel off those innermost layers. There might still be some left - you know, we are anticipating that you are all going to make your Ascension by that wondrous date! If you want to go a little early that is fine, if you want to go a little late that is wondrous indeed. However don’t anybody get locked into a date, but you can put a big star on 12/21 if you wish. Also, the 12/12, that’s a biggie, too!

"Now, back to this onion - we will give you plenty of time, as you measure it, to transition yourselves through the process. Now, we’re telling you more than we told The Voice - we sort of just hit her with it, and it worked out just fine. So we’re giving you a little bit of a heads up because this is an Exercise which you can repeat if you wish, which you can do to get at root causes of any blockages that you simply can’t explain any other way! Because we all know you sit in conversation with yourselves, your guides, and us, when you invite us, and we know that this particular place on your timelines is a place where many of you are saying, 'What is it? What is there to do that I’m not understanding? What have I not accomplished yet? Because I look at this body and I see dense, I don’t see as much Light as I know is in there, so what do I need to do?'

"Believe me, you’re radiating - you just may not be seeing it! We see it, there is no doubt, so don’t be doubting yourselves on that - that is not the intention or purpose here. It is simply that we understand that some of you are feeling heavy. Maybe you’ve let in too much propaganda - turn off your televisions, or tune in to the places that have the Truth. Maybe you are on the edge of your chairs waiting for the next email to come that’s going to be better news than the last one. Well, if you are looking at the mainstream news media, don’t count on it, just put Light on it. Bless it!

"You know, there are people who are still really excited and feeding, as it were, in the 3D habit and they can’t wait to get the next piece of propaganda to drool over. But that’s not you. Let it go, let it go. Use your time, as you see it, your spare and leisure time, or make time to create the visions of Joy for yourselves. What do you want? What do you want your next Dimensional Lifestyle to look like? Where do you want to be? For some of you, it’s at the controls of your ship, or as we say, on the command bridge. For some of you it’s to be still in service to Planet Earth. For some of you it’s to land your ship in your neighbor’s yard, the one who said you are 'looney tooneys'!

"So long as you do it with unconditional Love and none of this 'I told you so,' that’s perfectly wondrous indeed! Make it your World and make it bright with Love, and then you are unlimited as to how it’s going to look. So be happy, and know that you are radiant. You don’t need to turn up your Lights - you are shining!!! All that you should want to do at this stage on your Ascension Path - this is a guideline, not an order - is to see, to acknowledge, to feel your own beautiful radiance! That’s it! Because when you are seeing or feeling your own beautiful radiance you are elevating yourselves, you are putting yourselves up there into that Higher Dimensionality Reality, and you are leaving all of this propaganda behind!!! "So we would bring up one other thing because we have a quote for you, and this is Truth, High Truth - the wise one who put it into literature was divinely inspired! But here is the Truth: Remember we said you’ve all worn hats of many colors, well, some people say black and white, and not colors, the point is it does not matter what you’ve done, the quote is, 'To err is human...' In other words, if you’ve done something of a naughty kind of a thing, it’s being human, you were expressing your humanity.

" '...To forgive is Divine.' Now, think about that and then apply it to yourselves, Beloved Ones. If you come into a past lifetime experience - and remember, it could be so vivid you think it was your own but maybe it was your soul family, and this can happen, too - you don’t need to carry extra baggage but if it’s there, what you want to do is lighten your load. That’s where your Divinity comes in. It’s so easy to 'err,' as the word goes, and we would say it’s just to do something that you may think is not so good to do, but you either did it anyway because you wanted to, or you realized after you did it that maybe you hurt somebody, or whatever.

"It is to be the Divine Being that you are inside and beyond your human uniforms, to be Divine and to forgive - and to start with yourself. Who do you think deserves the most Unconditional Love from each and every one of you? We know you get it, but we’re going to say it anyway – it’s each and every one of you! As individuals!!! To be Divine simply means you are in Unconditional Love, expressing Unconditional Love and seeing your own Divine Radiance in so doing. That sounds so simple, does it not?

"We tell you, for each and every one of you it’s just a tiny little bit more of that onion to peel and you’re there! So stop thinking, 'This is so hard, I’m never going to make it, my health is just going down hill, I wonder if I’m still going to be in a body,' and all of that kind of stuff. Start being Divine, start loving yourselves Unconditionally, and forgiving - because you really don’t have anything to forgive, in the traditional sense; we’re talking about stop being in judgment of yourselves as good or bad, or beautiful or ugly, or sick or well, or any of that stuff - and just see the Light that is you, and that’s the Truth. That’s Who You Really Are!!!

"While you’re at it, you can beam some of that Light into the onion. Put the Light of Truth on it and forgive yourselves, which means to stop holding yourselves back by saying, 'Oh, I’m not a good…' - you know, all of that nonsense. That is just so much propaganda, self-propaganda, and it’s time to get beyond it, it’s time to just be Unconditional Love and flow from there!!!

"You’re all here because you are leaders! Every single one of you, no exceptions, even those of you who have not been here before. Why are you here? It is to be a leader. Waltham, Massachusetts battery company A123 is bankrupt. A123 which makes batteries for electric vehicles, was awarded a $249 million federal grant which does not need to be repaid as would a loan.

The filing may fuel a debate over government financing of alternative-energy and transportation businesses. Federal grants and loans to companies including A123, Fisker Automotive Inc. and Tesla Motors Inc. (TSLA) have drawn scrutiny from congressional Republicans following the September 2011 bankruptcy filing of solar-panel maker Solyndra LLC two years after it received a $535 million loan guarantee from the U.S. Energy Department. Solyndra’s executives took the fifth, but we don’t think they missed any meals. Green energy profiteers get rich and leave workers and taxpayers to share the pain.

The Green Graveyard of Taxpayer-Funded Failures!

Solar-cell manufacturer Solyndra became a household name when it collapsed, taking $627 million in American taxpayer dollars with it. It’s the poster company for the government picking winners and losers—or really, just losers—in the energy market. But there are 12 more “green energy” losers that have declared bankruptcy despite attempts to prop them up with taxpayer money—and the list is growing.
There’s a reason why these companies could not rely solely on private financing and needed help from the government. They couldn’t make it on their own; they couldn’t even make it with extra taxpayer help.
These green government “investments” take from one (by taxing or borrowing) and give to another, but they merely move money around. They do not create jobs. They send labor and resources to areas of the economy where they are wasted. Proponents of special financing and tax credits for solar companies claim that these benefits will pay for themselves down the line—but when the companies receiving them are going bankrupt, that is highly unlikely.
Kate Adams, a member of Heritage’s Young Leaders Program, and Heritage’s Rachael Slobodien compiled a list of the 12 members of the Green Graveyard—companies that received taxpayer money for green initiatives yet have filed for bankruptcy.

1. Abound Solar (Loveland, Colorado), manufacturer of thin film photovoltaic modules.
2. Beacon Power (Tyngsborough, Massachusetts), designed and developed advanced products and services to support stable, reliable and efficient electricity grid operation.
3. Ener1 (Indianapolis, Indiana), built compact lithium-ion-powered battery solutions for hybrid and electric cars.
4. Energy Conversion Devices (Rochester Hills, Michigan/Auburn Hills, Michigan), manufacturer of flexible thin film photovoltaic (PV) technology and a producer of batteries and other renewable energy-related products.
5. Evergreen Solar, Inc. (Marlborough, Massachusetts), manufactured and installed solar panels.
6. Mountain Plaza, Inc. (Dandridge, Tennessee), designed and implemented “truck-stop electrification” technology.
7. Olsen’s Crop Service and Olsens Mills Acquisition Co. (Berlin, Wisconsin), a private company producing ethanol.
8. Range Fuels (Soperton, Georgia), tried to develop a technology that converted biomass into ethanol without the use of enzymes.
9. Raser Technologies (Provo, Utah), geothermal power plants and technology licensing.
10. Solyndra (Fremont, California), manufacturer of cylindrical panels of thin-film solar cells.
11. Spectrawatt (Hopewell, New York), solar cell manufacturer.
12. Thompson River Power LLC (Wayzata, Minnesota), designed and developed advanced products and services to support stable, reliable and efficient electricity grid operation.

Some lawmakers are looking for a solution. The aptly named No More Solyndras Act would prohibit any new loan guarantees from Title XVII of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
As Heritage’s Nicolas Loris wrote,

Republicans and Democrats alike need to end their addiction to energy subsidies, or we’re going to continue down the same failed path of wasteful spending…We don’t need to fix the energy subsidy programs. We need to abolish them.

President Obama said in 2010 that “the true engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra.” He couldn’t be more wrong. Companies that are innovating and creating real value for consumers are the engine of economic growth, and they’re doing it without millions in taxpayer funding.

NEW YORK (AP) — A Bangladeshi man who came to the United States to wage jihad was arrested in an elaborate FBI sting on Wednesday after attempting to blow up a fake car bomb outside the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan, authorities said.

Before trying to carry out the alleged terrorism plot, Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis went to a warehouse to help assemble a 1,000-pound bomb using inert material, according to a criminal complaint. He also asked an undercover agent to videotape him saying, "We will not stop until we attain victory or martyrdom," the complaint said.

Agents grabbed the 21-year-old Nafis — armed with a cellphone he believed was rigged as a detonator — after he made several attempts to blow up the bomb inside a vehicle parked next to the Federal Reserve, the complaint said.

Authorities emphasized that the plot never posed an actual risk. However, they claimed the case demonstrated the value of using sting operations to neutralize young extremists eager to harm Americans.

"Attempting to destroy a landmark building and kill or maim untold numbers of innocent bystanders is about as serious as the imagination can conjure," said Mary Galligan, acting head of the FBI's New York office. "The defendant faces appropriately severe consequences."

Nafis appeared in federal court in Brooklyn to face charges of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to provide material support to al-Qaida. Wearing a brown T-shirt and black jeans, he was ordered held without bail and did not enter a plea. His defense attorney had no comment outside court.

The defendant "reported having connections" to al-Qaida, prosecutors said. But there was no allegation that he received training or direction from the terrorist group.

Prosecutors say Nafis traveled to the U.S. in January to carry out an attack. In July, he contacted a confidential informant, telling him he wanted to form a terror cell, the criminal complaint said. Nafis was living in Queens.

In further conversations, authorities said Nafis proposed several spots for his attack, including the New York Stock Exchange — and that in a written letter taking responsibility for the Federal Reserve job he was about to carry out, he said he wanted to "destroy America." Other communications took place through Facebook, the complaint said.

The bank in New York, located at 33 Liberty St., is one of 12 branches around the country that, along with the Board of Governors in Washington, make up the Federal Reserve System that serves as the central bank of the United States. It sets interest rates.

The Federal Reserve is one of the most fortified buildings in the city, smack in the middle of a massive security effort headed by the New York Police Department where a network of thousands of private and police cameras watch for suspicious activity.

The department uses sophisticated programs that can search for suspicious activity, like an object in one place for a long time, at the building, modeled after London's "ring of steel." The analytic software also is designed to take video and catalog it according to movements, shapes and colors, so officers can set parameters to search the system for, say, a suspicious van.

The Fed is also home to "the world's largest accumulation of gold," according to the bank's website. Dozens of governments and central banks store a portion of their gold reserves in high-security vaults deep beneath the building. In recent years, it held 216 million troy ounces of gold, or more than a fifth of all global monetary gold reserves, making it a bigger bullion depository than Fort Knox.

The federal case was the latest where a terrorism plot against the city turned out to be a sting operation.....
