US Contractor in State of Georgia Cited as Source for Syrian Chemical Attacks

US Contractor in State of Georgia Cited as Source for Syrian Chemical Attacks

It appears there is an ever-growing circle of friends contributing to this charade designed to invoke WWIII.
The American people should be outraged, but most don’t even know about this because they trust the corporate media to tell them what to think.
How many more innocent people will die before these psychopaths are stopped? This is how they use tax payers’ money. Americans are starving, have no jobs, are losing their homes, and the money the government steals from them goes to murder thousands in the Middle East; their current conquest.
Just look at the graphic below. This one is supposedly from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California, where part of their curriculum is TERRORISM STUDIES.
Check it out.  “We prepare students to research, analyze, evaluate, and respond effectively to the domestic and international terrorist threats.”
Perhaps they should begin with “domestic” before going further afield. There’s a place called “Washington DC”. They could start there.  ~ BP

US Chem Weapons Disposal Program Supplies WMD’s for Syrian Rebels

By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor, Veterans Today
Investigative journalists inside Georgia have traced shipments of chemical weapons to American controlled sources in the region.
Here, the weapons from Georgia are being deployed by US backed Al Qaeda terrorists.
Click on link to read full report:
It’s important to remember that back In June, the United Nations dismissed claims that Assad’s forces used Chemical weapons.
Testimony from victims provided strong evidence that it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin Nerve Gas, a senior UN diplomat finally admitted.
Carla del Ponte, a member of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.
But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons.
Damascus is facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which US President Obama has described as crossing a Red Line. But Ms. del Ponte’s remarks may serve to shift the focus of international concern.
In addition, leaked phone conversations that emerged earlier this year between two members of the Free Syrian Army [terrorists] contain details of a plan to carry out a chemical weapons attack capable of impacting an area the size of one kilometer.
There are also multiple other examples of video footage which shows US-backed rebels preparing and using chemical weapons.
The last time the world believed the United States’ claims about Iraq’s non-existent WMD, hundreds of thousands of innocent people died as a result.

Guys - As loechin did, I want to respond to MtnGoats message today. I have had discussions with her privately, and I knew that she was going to make this post today (although the depth of the content was a surprise).

Although I am in agreement with many of her statements and give her all due respect, I am still sitting on a pile of confirmations that tells me we are in a different place right now.

The underlying motivations if the PTB notwithstanding, the release is in progress and the people implementing this are doing their job. The expectation is still "imminent" but the reports include some tweaking as per Tony's blast.

(please refer to his "ego" comments) My hope is that this is over tomorrow. I know that we all need relief from the never ending "tomorrow" intel, but that is actually what we are dealing with right now.
I also heard a rumor today that sounded credible because of the source (thanks to heycowboy for bringing it to my attention) that stated you need to belong to a group to be able to exchange.  I confirmed through my sources that this is NOT TRUE.

I also was able to run it by Tony (thx ALREADY BLESSED) and his statement was "That's BS". (and I quote...lol)  So if you are told to sign-up to a group or you will be shut-out, call it like it is... "BS".

Once this thing goes, the IQD/N will be international and you will be able to exchange anywhere you want. Obviously if the group rates are what we are hearing, then groups will require serious consideration. But it's your call.

So...I'm looking for big things tomorrow. And praying it will be a SUPER FANTASTIC day. Until Next time - DINARMAVEN

GR8 news from a good friend about
The upcoming RV!!
Today I received a call from a close American friend, who has lived and worked in a small town in Alaska, for years. He's pretty busy working today.... I could barely hear him for the noise from the tools he was using in the background....he had just got back from going to his small branch of WF in a WalMart in his small Alaskan town.

While he was there....he was dealing with the Assistant Manager, at the end of their dealings my friend asked the Assistant Manager , quietly he thought.... If the Assistant Manager was familiar with the Iraqi Dinar......my friend says....to his surprise.....the Manager of the Bank , who was in a cubicle helping a customer approx 30 feet away....got up and approached them and said I believe I heard you mention the Iraq Dinar? And he drew them aside and had an in depth conversation with my friend .... He was asked if he had Iraq Dinar. He was asked how much he and his group had amongst them. That was discussed....then....

.....He was told by the MANAGER that just a few days prior to today they had received final confirmation that they were on a Moment to Moment Alert that the Iraqi Dinar was about to RV.....and that the only thing that had been holding it up was Washington DC and the Tax issue.
She ( the Manager ) indicated though .. That was almost resolved....and so they are on a Moment, to Moment Alert!!

She then said they would be able to cash a little of their Dinar in and help them set up accounts etc......but that they would need to take the bulk of their Dinar to the Larger WF Branch in town, which does have a De la Rue Machine, to complete their CE. She also told him when the time comes, she has an excellent Private Banker & Wealth Manager to introduce, he and his group to.

My friend was just thrilled with this information & blown away, as were we.....he had no idea that he could be helped right there with his CE in such a small town. And he did not go to his Bank today expecting to discuss Dinar....he just thought he would throw it out there at the last minute and see what would happen.

Because he was back at work, he asked me to share his good news with everyone!
WHOOO HOOOO   Go RV!!

Footage of chemical attack in Syria is fraud
RT Op-Edge
Sep 6, 2013
[snip]
There is proof the footage of the alleged chemical attack in Syria was fabricated, Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, mother superior of St. James Monastery in Qara, Syria, told RT. She says she is about to submit her findings to the UN.
Mother Agnes, a catholic nun, who has been living in Syria for 20 years and has been reporting actively on what has been going on in the war-ravaged country, says she carefully studied the video featuring allegedly victims of the chemical weapons attack in the Syrian village of Guta in August and now questions its authenticity.
Mother Agnes: I have carefully studied the footage, and I will present a written analysis on it a bit later. I maintain that the whole affair was a frame-up. It had been staged and prepared in advance with the goal of framing the Syrian government as the perpetrator.
The key evidence is that Reuters made these files public at 6.05 in the morning. The chemical attack is said to have been launched between 3 and 5 o’clock in the morning in Guta. How is it even possible to collect a dozen different pieces of footage, get more than 200 kids and 300 young people together in one place, give them first aid and interview them on camera, and all that in less than three hours? Is that realistic at all? As someone who works in the news industry, you know how long all of it would take.
MA: I’m not Syrian myself, but I’ve been living in Syria for 20 years. I’d like to remind everyone thatDamascus is the most ancient capital in the world. I would like to remind everyone that Syria is the cradle of civilization. I would like to remind everyone that this is the holy land that gave birth to the main world religions. What is happening in Syria should serve as a lesson for everyone.

TNT Tony Blast Saturday PM at TNT Forum

Good afternoon everyone.  I see you have had quite the morning on the boards and in the chat room.  Let me start by saying that I am thankful for each and everyone of you, for being a member of TNTdinar.

This site was put together so that you may be able to choose for yourself (that's what adults do) what information you wanted to read about or listen to regarding the Iraq Dinar Revaluation.

This is not a political site, a religious site and this is not a conspiracy site.  Now if one of these things become relevant to when the RV is about to occur or to the rate of the RV, please let us know.  Other than that, there are other sites on the internet to discuss these subjects.

Remember, in every subject, story or fabrication there is a little truth in all, if not they couldn't get you to believe any of it.

We will now and in the future, be removing any and all threads that approach these subjects.
....

(This was approved by Mrs. TNTdinar)

Now let's go on to what we are really here for.

Rates at the bank have returned to the double digits.

Bank personnel worked yesterday until about 11pm, hoping to see this activated.  It didn't and they are currently at home on standby, have been notified that they probably won't be called until Sunday afternoon.

Bank personnel have been notified that effective Sunday, there will be no days off/vacation for the next two weeks.  They can expect to work everyday including the weekends.

I told you on Friday that there were no electronic system hangups and today there still are none.  The system has been completed and released.  The banks had the rates on the back screens on WednesdayThursday morning they were removed and Thursday evening they returned.  The system is working.

I told you that there were ego's involved in the past and that they had reached an agreement.  The problem is one of them is not living up to it, and the other is doing nothing about it.  They threaten to, but they just haven't.  The reason is that they too want the higher rate and the fact that right now this is about more than the RV.

There are still only 2 of the 3 letter groups that are able to do this final push of the button for the RV, either way (up or down/high or low), but now the rest of the world is involved in this other situation.

As of today they have once again been tied together and depend on decisions that are being made and will be made public by Tuesday.  I know you guys don't want me to get into any trouble, so let's stop right there.

The bottom line is that the RV is ready to go, but the time and decision now has nothing to do with the RV at all.  So we wait.  It could be over tomorrowor it could drag out until Tuesday.

Plenty of people are upset that it didn't happen last night and are upset that it is being used in this manner, but the big picture (theirs not ours) is that they think they are doing what's best for us all.

Either way, we now know that all we are waiting for is the authorization.
Enjoy the rest of day and let's see what happens tomorrow.

U.S. Military Intelligence Involved in Chemical Attack in Syria

U.S. Military Intelligence Involved in Chemical Attack in Syria

A photo taken by Marco di Lauro/AP in Iraq in 2003 was presented by US State Secretary Kerry on August 30, 2013 as evidence of "Assad’s chemical attack."
The situation in Syria is still in focus of the world media. Another U.S.-led “humanitarian intervention” may be unleashed soon. The Pentagon announced that it is ready to attack Syria in order to punish Bashar al-Assad and Syrian army for the alleged use of chemical weapons against the civilians.
Meanwhile, the new evidence of the U.S. intelligence being involved in chemical attack near Damascus on August 21, 2013 has been leaked to Internet.
A hacker got access to the U.S. intelligence correspondence and published private emails of Col. Anthony J. Macdonald, who is the General Staff Director, Operations and Plans Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence the US Army Staff.
In an email exchange on August 22, 2013 with the US Army civilian analyst Eugene P. Furst congratulates Col. on successful operation and refers him to a Washington Post publication about chemical attack in Syria.
JPEG - 20 kb
E.FURST: By the way, saw your latest success, my congratulations. Good job.
A.MACDONALD: As you see, I’m far from this now, but I know our guys did their best.
Another set of private correspondence between his wife Jeniffer MacDonald and Mary Shapiro reveals that colonel did not keep his mouth shut in the bedroom:
JPEG - 29.3 kb
M.SHAPIRO: I can’t stop thinking about that terrible gas attack in Syria now. Did you see those kids? I was really crying- They were poisoned, they died. When is it over? I see their faces when in sleep. What did Tony say you about this?
J.MACDONALD: I saw it too and got afraid very much. But Tony comforted me. He said the kids weren’t hurt, it was done for cameras. So you don’t worry, my dear.
M.SHAPIRO: I’m still thinking about those Syrian kids. Thanks God, they are alive. I hope they got a kind of present or some cash.
From Col. MacDonalds’s wife dialog with her friend it’s clear that the video with the children killed in the chemical attack near Damascus was staged by the U.S. Military Intelligence.
This information sheds new light on the US administration’s confession that “there were indications three days prior that an attack [on August 21] was coming”.
As Joseff Budansky from GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs wrote on Sunday:
On August 13-14, 2013, Western-sponsored opposition forces in Turkey started advance preparations for a major and irregular military surge. Initial meetings between senior opposition military commanders and representatives of Qatari, Turkish, and US Intelligence [“Mukhabarat Amriki”] took place at the converted Turkish military garrison in Antakya, Hatay Province, used as the command center and headquarters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and their foreign sponsors. Very senior opposition commanders who had arrived from Istanbul briefed the regional commanders of an imminent escalation in the fighting due to “a war-changing development” which would, in turn, lead to a US-led bombing of Syria.
According to the same source,
On August 24, 2013, Syrian Commando forces acted on intelligence about the possible perpetrators of the chemical attack and raided a cluster of rebel tunnels in the Damascus suburb of Jobar. Canisters of toxic material were hit in the fierce fire-fight as several Syrian soldiers suffered from suffocation and “some of the injured are in a critical condition”.
The Commando eventually seized an opposition warehouse containing barrels full of chemicals required for mixing “kitchen sarin”, laboratory equipment, as well as a large number of protective masks. The Syrian Commando also captured several improvised explosive devices, RPG rounds, and mortar shells. The same day, at least four Hizballah fighters operating in Damascus near Ghouta were hit by chemical agents at the very same time the Syrian Commando unit was hit while searching a group of rebel tunnels in Jobar. Both the Syrian and the Hizballah forces were acting on intelligence information about the real perpetrators of the chemical attack.
The samples of toxic agents were reportedly sent to Moscow for a detailed analysis.
Published data clearly indicate that the US administration is about to create any pretext to launch a military strike on Syria. Most recent revelation that the US Secretary of State John Kerry has used a photo taken in Iraq in 2003 to illustrate “Syrian victims of gas attack” last Friday to justify his bellicous message to the US Congressmen gives even more evidence that the “intelligence information” the warmongers claim to be based on is groundless or simply fabricated.
Now the vast majority of people worldwide perfectly understand that a kind of tricky game is being played on their behalf. The British parliament has already met the demand of clearly expressed public opinion and opposed the suicidal war over Mediterranean. Will the US legislators show us the same prudence and common sense? We will see it next week.

Google argues for right to continue scanning Gmail -- The Associated Press

IMPORTANT INFO FOR ALL GMAIL/GOOGLE USERS

Google argues for right to continue scanning Gmail -- The Associated Press

Google argues for right to continue scanning Gmail
By MARTHA MENDOZA
AP National Writer
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Google's attorneys say their long-running practice of electronically scanning the contents of people's Gmail accounts to help sell ads is legal, and have asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks to stop the practice.
In a federal court hearing Thursday in San Jose, Google argued that "all users of email must necessarily expect that their emails will be subject to automated processing."
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of 10 individuals, is expected to be certified as a class action and is widely seen as a precedent-setting case for other email providers.
The plaintiffs say Google "unlawfully opens up, reads, and acquires the content of people's private email messages" in violation of California's privacy laws and federal wiretapping statutes. The lawsuit notes that the company even scans messages sent to any of the 425 million active Gmail users from non-Gmail users who never agreed to the company's terms.
"This company reads, on a daily basis, every email that's submitted, and when I say read, I mean looking at every word to determine meaning," said Texas attorney Sean Rommel, who is co-counsel suing Google.
And Rommel said "the data that's being amassed by this company" could be used for more than just targeting advertising, although the parts of the lawsuit discussing what more Google might be doing with private information is currently under seal.
"The injury is two-fold: the privacy invasion and the loss of property. Google is taking people's property because they can get it for free as opposed to paying for it," said Rommel.
Judge Lucy Koh said she would consider Google's request to terminate the case, but she said she is also interested in scheduling a trial for next year, indicating she is unlikely to dismiss. She did not say when she would decide.
Scrutinizing Google's privacy policy, Koh noted that it doesn't specify that Google is scanning Gmail when it describes the type of information it's collecting.
"Why wouldn't you just say `the content of your emails?'" she asked.
Google attorney Whitty Somvichian said that the company is attempting to have a single privacy policy for all of its services, meaning it didn't separately reference every single product.
But he said it's "inconceivable" that someone using a Gmail account would not be aware that the information in their email would be known to Google.
Google has repeatedly described how it targets its advertising based on words that show up in Gmail messages. For example, the company says if someone has received a lot of messages about photography or cameras then it might display an advertisement from a local camera store. Google says the process is fully automated, "and no humans read your email..."
"Users, while they're using their Google Gmail account, have given Google the ability to use the emails they send and receive for providing that service," Somvichian said in court. "They have not assumed the risk that Google will disclose their information and they fully retain the right to delete their emails."
Privacy advocates have long questioned the practice, and were closely watching the lawsuit.
"In this Gmail case Google is trying to argue that its technology is exempt from privacy and wiretap laws. If they win, it will set a horrible precedent that they will try to apply to other Google technologies greatly threatening consumers' privacy rights," Consumer Watchdog Privacy Project director John Simpson said on Thursday.

Poll: Majority Of Americans Approve Of Sending Congress To Syria

NewsSyriaNewsISSUE 49•36Sep 5, 2013

A majority of U.S. citizens believe congressional leaders in both the House and Senate must be sent to war-torn Syria immediately.
WASHINGTON—As President Obama continues to push for a plan of limited military intervention in Syria, a new poll of Americans has found that though the nation remains wary over the prospect of becoming involved in another Middle Eastern war, the vast majority of U.S. citizens strongly approve of sending Congress to Syria.
The New York Times/CBS News poll showed that though just 1 in 4 Americans believe that the United States has a responsibility to intervene in the Syrian conflict, more than 90 percent of the public is convinced that putting all 535 representatives of the United States Congress on the ground in Syria—including Senate pro tempore Patrick Leahy, House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and, in fact, all current members of the House and Senate—is the best course of action at this time.
“I believe it is in the best interest of the United States, and the global community as a whole, to move forward with the deployment of all U.S. congressional leaders to Syria immediately,” respondent Carol Abare, 50, said in the nationwide telephone survey, echoing the thoughts of an estimated 9 in 10 Americans who said they “strongly support” any plan of action that involves putting the U.S. House and Senate on the ground in the war-torn Middle Eastern state. “With violence intensifying every day, now is absolutely the right moment—the perfect moment, really—for the United States to send our legislators to the region.”
“In fact, my preference would have been for Congress to be deployed months ago,” she added.
Citing overwhelming support from the international community—including that of the Arab League, Turkey, and France, as well as Great Britain, Iraq, Iran, Russia, Japan, Mexico, China, and Canada, all of whom are reported to be unilaterally in favor of sending the U.S. Congress to Syria—the majority of survey respondents said they believe the United States should refocus its entire approach to Syria’s civil war on the ground deployment of U.S. senators and representatives, regardless of whether the Assad regime used chemical weapons or not.
In fact, 91 percent of those surveyed agreed that the active use of sarin gas attacks by the Syrian government would, if anything, only increase poll respondents’ desire to send Congress to Syria.
Public opinion was essentially unchanged when survey respondents were asked about a broader range of attacks, with more than 79 percent of Americans saying they would strongly support sending Congress to Syria in cases of bomb and missile attacks, 78 percent supporting intervention in cases of kidnappings and executions, and 75 percent saying representatives should be deployed in cases where government forces were found to have used torture.
When asked if they believe that Sen. Rand Paul should be deployed to Syria, 100 percent of respondents said yes.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that sending Congress to Syria—or, at the very least, sending the major congressional leaders in both parties—is the correct course of action,” survey respondent and Iraq war veteran Maj. Gen. John Mill said, noting that his opinion was informed by four tours of duty in which he saw dozens of close friends sustain physical as well as emotional injury and post-traumatic stress. “There is a clear solution to our problems staring us right in the face here, and we need to take action.”
“Sooner rather than later, too,” Mill added. “This war isn’t going to last forever.”

Not Even Bill Gates Could Save Microsoft
By Sam Mattera | More Articles
September 7, 2013 | Comments (10)
salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff thinks Bill Gates should return to Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT ) as CEO. He's not alone.
With Steve Ballmer set to retire, the Windows-maker is in need of a new CEO. Who better to fill the spot than the man who started the company in the first place?
Unfortunately, Microsoft is in a tough spot, and based on Bill Gates' recent comments, not even he could turn the company around. Microsoft's management, including chairman Gates, just doesn't seem to understand the nature of the PC market.
Two different theories of the PC
Fundamentally, it goes back to the definition of the PC. At the AllThingsD conference back in 2010, Microsoft's Ballmer and Apple CEO (NASDAQ: AAPL ) Steve Jobs offered very different theories about the future of the PC market.
Jobs:
When we were an agrarian nation, all cars were trucks, because that's what you needed on the farm.
But as vehicles started to be used in the urban centers...cars got more popular... now... maybe one out of every 25 vehicles, 30 vehicles is a truck, where it used to be 100%.
PCs are gonna be like trucks. They're still gonna be around, they're still gonna have a lot of value, but they're gonna be used by one out of X people.
Ballmer:
I think PCs are gonna continue to shift in form factor... real question is what's a PC? ... There may be a reason why they call them "Mack" trucks, but Windows PCs are not gonna be trucks -- they're not -- they will continue to be the mass popularizer of a variety of things people want to do with information.
In short, Jobs offered a view of the market that was highly fragmented. One with different devices satisfying different niches. Tablets would never fully replace traditional PCs, but for many users, they would be enough. In contrast, Ballmer appeared to predict the emergence of a single unified device, one that combined the benefits of a tablet (portability) with the benefits of a traditional PC (content creation, power).
More recently, in an interview with CNBC, Gates echoed Ballmer's comments, arguing that Microsoft's Surface was that ideal, hybrid device:
In terms of the devices themselves, Windows 8 really is revolutionary in that it takes the benefits of a tablet and the benefits of a PC, and it's able to support both of those... Surface, Surface Pro, you've got that portability of a tablet, but... the richness of the PC... iPad... users are frustrated, they can't type, they can't create documents... We're providing them with the benefits...without giving up what they expect in a PC.
The Surface RT bombs and Windows 8 fails
But Microsoft's vision of a unified product is clearly wrong -- the market has spoken.
Last quarter, Microsoft took a $900 million writedown on the Surface. Microsoft admitted that its tablet had not sold as well as expected, and that it was forced to cut the price by 30% in order to boost demand.
It also noted that among consumers, demand for traditional PCs had fallen roughly 20%.
Consumers just don't seem to want what Microsoft is selling.
Evidently, people are not as frustrated with the iPad as Gates believes.
Last quarter, Apple sold 14.6 million iPads; in comparison, Microsoft sold just 1.7 million Surface devices from its debut last October through the end of June.
Throwing good money after bad
Microsoft's recent reorganization intends to shift the company to one focused around "devices and services" -- a strategy it said it will stick with even after it brings in a new CEO. This is why I find Microsoft's situation so alarming -- management just doesn't get it.
Even after the Surface RT's price cut, Apple's iPad is still a better buy than the Surface RT, and will probably continue to be for the foreseeable future. With its far better selection of apps, the iPad offers a much better tablet experience.
Sure, you might not be able to edit Excel documents on your iPad, or type a paper in Word, but how many people really want to do that on their tablet? A 10-inch screen just isn't ideal for work, regardless of how powerful the device may be.
Meanwhile, Apple continues to give consumers what they want. The King of Cupertino is expected to unveil a refreshed lineup of tablets this fall, including an iPad Mini with a Retina display, and a full-size iPad that's both thinner and lighter.
Both devices are ideal for the sort of quick, on-the-go computing tablet users demand.
Microsoft commits to devices with Nokia buy
Microsoft's announcement that it was buying Nokia's (NYSE: NOK ) handset business only strengthened its commitment to being a devices company. By adding Nokia's workforce, Microsoft will be able to produce its Windows Phones in-house, just as Apple has done with the iPhone since 2007.
Unlike tablets and PCs, there doesn't appear to be much of a difference in Microsoft and Apple's phone philosophies, outside of Nokia's long-standing commitment to produce phones at multiple price points (a strategy Microsoft is unlikely to abandon).
But despite copying Apple's proven strategy, Microsoft is unlikely to find success.
Apple has a six-year head start -- and far more developer support.
Investing in Microsoft
Given that Microsoft's management is clearly out of touch when it comes to understanding the PC market, the company's decision to embrace a strategy centered around "devices and services" -- as emphasized by its recent purchase of Nokia's handset business -- is distressing.
Even Gates appears to believe that the market wants these sort of hybrid devices -- Surface tablets that can double as a laptop, a Windows 8 operating system that works as well on a tablet as it does on traditional PC.
As long as Microsoft sticks to this flawed philosophy, alternative operating systems are going to slowly chip away at its Windows empire. For that reason, investors should consider avoiding Microsoft.

Job;s loved to redefine the world to fit it into his new definition of words. Ballmer and Gates are realistic and know that despite consumers arogance and hubris all personal computers including smart phones and tablets are just different forms and sizes of the same basic device. Analysts and commentators love to fed the PC's Dead machine so they can pump and dump their Apple and ARM holdings but Intel is about to level the PC playing field next week with Bay Trail 22nm 3D chips. Stay tuned and have fun with your overpriced iToys and plastic Droids.

There is a good rule in the world of consumer electronics: People do not want to go backwards on any primary use case.
For example, if you have an excellent performance of retina display browsing, high quality keyboard word processing, big screen e-mails etc. on your Macbook in your home, why would you want a Surface to replace it that is inferior on these use cases with a crappy keyboard, small screen and mediocre apps?
Convergence is great ONLY when you ensure that the primary use cases are not compromised. For example, Apple's first iPhone was a clearly successful convergence of the iPhone + iPod (MP3 player) because it was the best phone and the best MP3 player in one device.
The Surface is neither the best tablet or the best laptop. Actually it's very far from either of those.

First of all, PC's are NOT dead. They will be required by businesses and corporations for years to come.
Power users and gamers, who build there own rigs, will continue to support the PC. All we're seeing is the buying wave has hit the shore.
Remember, PC's can be easily upgraded and expanded garnering additional life out of them. I'm sure the components industry is doing quite well.
Next, we really don't talk about today's laptops.
They can be a real power house for a very reasonable price.
The laptop provides true mobility by not having to be connected 24/7 to the internet. Laptops can come with 500 GB to 1 TB hard drives, Universal DVD/CD RW including Blue Ray, 6-8 GB of DDR3 ram, a quad-processor (I5 or I7) and an internal graphics card (Radeon for instance).
Thumb drives can be had all the way up to 1 TB. All of which makes the tablet and the cloud unnecessary.
To generate real work, a keyboard is necessary. To be using a keyboard through most of the day, it must be large enough, robust and ergonomic.
The touch screen is simply a non-starter for most workers/professionals. MS is making so many bad assumptions about the future, you've got to really wonder.

I MISS STEVE JOBS!
Why can't intelligent, enthusiastic people run the world instead of the egomaniacs and the greedy? It would be so good for our country and our businesses if we could do that.
So many computer businesses are going to go under because of the loss of pure, unadulterated genius.

As an IT professional I find this article laughable. Just take a look at Dell's new Lattitude 10. Is it an tablet or a PC? It's both and with Windows 8 loaded on it there is no need for an Ipad to take home with you and hope you can download apps to help you with work. This tablet is your work machine and is docked at your desk. Add a 20 hour battery life and you now have no need for anything Apple produces.
How is it again that MS is committed to clunky desktops ???

A CEO " out of touch" That's not even news! These over-priced, self- serving guys killed GM, Merrill, and countless others. Only when they quit insulating themselves with layers of yes-men and salaries they clearly don't "earn", will they guide their companies properly. The whole system needs help not just Microsoft.

Microsoft was doomed after XP. It should have stopped with XP and just worked on fixing the kinks there. But nope, they had to come up with the clumsy and bug ridden Vista. Almost no third party software was compatible. It just stood there sucking all of your available memory.
Then came Windows 7, which was really Vista Redux. I won't even discuss Windows 8.
XP as sucky a system it was, is still the best PC OS for business or home, IMO.

Surface's failure was the use of the ARM architecture. I was interested in buying one... completely intrigued with the idea... until I found it was running on ARM. Nothing against the architecture... I'm sure, fundamentally, it works fine... but if you are a PC user, which are the only people that would buy that, everything you already own runs on x86 or x86_64. I can't install any of the software that I already have onto it. That is a deal breaker for me and a lot of other people. I'm not rebuying software that I already have through their app store just so it'll run on that one device. Had the surface been x86_64, I think it would have been a totally different story... but Microsoft was looking to capitalize on the "app" trend by limiting choice to only using their app store to buy software, and that has NEVER been a good business decision.

Try to tell that to Motley Fools - they wont get it. I am guessing their idea is to peddle their point of view to increase the stock market value of some companies that they get paid from - companies that do not have a presence in corporate server rooms and who knows perhaps depend more on the tablet PC industry...

'NATURAL BORN CITIZEN' CLAUSE IN CONSTITUTION REGARDING THE ELIGIBILITY OF PROSPECTIVE POTUS

The "natural born Citizen" clause was placed in the U.S. Constitution in regards to eligibility for President by the founders of our nation and framers of our Constitution specifically to bar persons in the future with foreign influence and foreign citizenship on them by birth from ever becoming the Commander-in-Chief of our military after the founding generation had passed away. It was placed in the Constitution for future national security reasons. Reasons we see materializing today with Obama. The founding generation was exempt from the natural born Citizen clause in Article II Section 1 of the Constitution. The natural born Citizen clause only applied to future generations of those who would be President upon the passing of the founding generation. These facts were stated in writing in a 1787 letter from John Jay to George Washington, Presiding Officer of the Constitutional Convention. Obama is the first person since the founding generation whose father was a 'foreign national non-immigrant to this country' to be the Commander-in-Chief of our military! Obama was born a British Subject via his foreign-national, non-immigrant father and Obama's loyalties are to his foreign-national father and his father's Marxist "dreams" to destroy the USA. His usurpation of presidential power and command of our military unconstitutionally is an extreme national security threat to us all as exemplified by the Benghazi Libya event, IRS targeting of conservatives, raiding AP phone records, the Fast and Furious Gun Running venture, and the lies and cover-ups by Obama and his agents thereafter. Obama is not a "natural born Citizen" of the USA to constitutional standards. His main loyalties and goals are not in the best interests of our constitutional republic and the USA. He should never have been allowed to take office in 2009 or 2013 despite the major media promoting and protecting Obama. But the cowardly and complicit Congress controlled by the two complicit and corrupt political parties failed to live up to their oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Obama should be removed from power due to his criminal felony identity fraud of using forged documents such as a backdated and forged draft registration card, forged birth certificate, and other forged documents and for his unconstitutional usurpation of office and violations of his oath of office. The fix was in by both political parties in 2008 and it continues to this day and is planned for future elections too. Our Republic is in grave danger! Only 'We the People' can correct it and restore the rule of law and our Constitution! Read and learn more in the below page and links therein.
