A group of nurses in Sweden decided to cut their workday by two hours and reported increased levels of happiness, productivity, and improved patient outcomes.

Time is a precious commodity – what would you do with more hours in your day? This question has been posed for eons, but only in recent years has become truly relevant.

Many people – especially Americans – work far more than the advocated 40 hours per week, and, in effect, are experiencing intolerable levels of stress (which inevitably causes health and happiness to decline). Always in quest to obtain ‘more’ and pay off debt, few take time to ‘smell the roses’ and enjoy life, quite simply because they feel they can’t.

But what if a solution was offered that allowed everyone to work only 6 hours a day? It sounds like a far-off dream, but a group of nurses in Sweden now know first-hand how beneficial having even just a couple hours more in the day can be for health and happiness.

As The Guardian reports, a group of nurses working at a nursing home in Sweden decided to institute a six-hour workday, hoping to increase productivity and improve their quality of life. They received the same pay but had two extra hours to their day.

Their experiment proved to be amazingly successful. Workers experienced higher satisfaction at the job, leading to reduced turnover and fewer sick days. Lise-Lotte Pettersson, one of the nurses who partook in the switch, noted that reduced hours actually inspired improved patient outcomes. She stated:

“I used to be exhausted all the time, I would come home from work and pass out on the sofa. But not now. I am much more alert: I have much more energy for my work … You cannot allow elderly people [her clients] to become stressed, otherwise it turns into a bad day for everyone.”

In order to reduce people’s shifts, it was necessary for administrators to hire more staff (and add more jobs), making the financial consequences and externalities unclear. Research has consistently proven, however, that longer working hours translates into declines in productivity, as well as GDP.

Economists like John Hicks argue that: “Probably it has never entered the heads of most employers … that hours could be shortened and output maintained.” But that’s exactly what the experiment has proven.

Sweden is pushing the norm in a number of ways. Not only did the country run out of garbage (and now has to import it from other countries to burn for energy), it’s considering implementing a ‘meat tax’ to cut down on carbon emissions. Keep pushing the envelope, Sweden, you’re showing the world what is possible!

More than 36,000 immigrants will become citizens over the next seven days, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Thursday.

As part of the Obama administration’s new multilingual effort to promote citizenship, starting Thursday and into next week, USCIS will be holding more than 200 naturalization ceremonies.

The effort, according to USCIS, highlights Constitution Day and Citizenship Day which marks the signing of the Constitution in 1787.

“Congress first highlighted the significance of U.S. citizenship in 1940 when it designated the third Sunday in May as ‘I Am an American Day.’ In 1952, Congress shifted the date to Sept. 17 and renamed it ‘Citizenship Day.’ Congress changed the designation of this day to ‘Constitution Day and Citizenship Day’ in 2004,” USCIS explained in a release.

In addition to the naturalization ceremonies USCIS is holding as part of “Constitution Week,” the Obama administration Thursday launched its “‘Stand Stronger’ Citizenship Awareness Campaign” aimed at encouraging the estimated 8.8 million legal permanent residents in the U.S. eligible to apply for citizenship to naturalize.

“It’s not about changing who you are, it’s about adding a new chapter to your journey, as an American citizen. And to our journey as a nation of immigrants,” President Obama said in a promotional video for the campaign.

The campaign stems from the White House Task Force on New Americans which Obama established as part of his November 20 executive amnesty.

As part of the campaign, in addition to naturalizing tens of thousands of people during the campaign’s kick off week, USCIS is also offering grants, making improvements to its systems, and expanding advertising to encourage citizenship.

George Roberts is a civilian whose job is to investigate crooked cops. As the supervisor for the Independent Police Review Authority, (IPRA), Roberts is responsible for investigating claims of police misconduct and officer-involved shootings.
After a nightmarish interaction with six Chicago cops, however, Roberts became the subject of his own work.
According to a federal lawsuit filed this week, after leaving a bar on New Year’s Day 2015, Roberts was pulled over by six of Chicago’s finest.
One of these six cops found Roberts identification card that showed he was a supervisor at the IPRA. Once they discovered that Roberts was a man who is tasked with holding police accountable for a living, the dashcam recording of the incident goes black.
What happened next, according to the lawsuit was nothing short of sheer and brutal humiliation.
First the officers attacked Roberts by throwing him to the ground before putting him into the back of the squad car.
Roberts, who is 6′ 3″ and 315 pounds, is too large for traditional cuffs to fit behind his back. But the Chicago cops did not care and forced them onto Roberts, which in turn, caused him a lot of pain.
According to the suit, when Roberts complained to the officers that he was in severe pain, Officer R. Adams, taunted him with Eric Garner’s last words.

“What are you going to tell me next, ‘you can’t breathe?’” said Adams. 

The lawsuit then details how Roberts was thrown to the ground by the officers again. This time, he was thrown down with so much force that he lost control of his bowels.
Roberts was then taken downtown, charged with DUI, and thrown in a cell where he was forced to stay overnight in his soiled clothing. During his stay in jail, he would face further humiliation as a supervisor came to the cell to taunt and laugh at him, according to the suit.
According to the “official” police account, Roberts was drunk and fell down, causing injury to himself. They also claim that he soiled himself in the back of the cruiser.
But the official account cannot be trusted as they also claimed that there was no video evidence. During the trial for Roberts’ DUI charge, however, his counsel discovered its existence and Roberts was subsequently acquitted.
In July, the Free Thought Project reported on the story of Lorenzo Davis, who was fired from his job at the IPRA for finding too many cops guilty of shooting people.
In an interview with the Daily Beast, Davis explains how telling the truth about cops will get you punished.
“Some people seem to think that someone saw him and recognized him, saw him in a bar and saw him drinking,” Davis says of Roberts. “That was a theory initially—that this would be a way to get back at someone who worked at IPRA.”
The irony, in this case, is that the IPRA rarely finds cops at fault for anything, even when they shoot and kill innocent women.
Perhaps the reason for the failure of the IPRA to hold cops accountable is that they are all afraid they may end up like Davis or Roberts.

As business owners suffer penalties in the United Kingdom and the United States for refusing to endorse or promote “same-sex marriage,” a “values monitor” for the British government’s counter-terrorism program is acknowledging it might be illegal simply to criticize the behavior. The U.K. charity Christian Institute is raising the alarm after the values monitor was asked whether or not it would be acceptable for a Muslim to believe homosexuality is wrong.

“If that’s what you think, and that’s what you believe, and you want to hold that in your head, that is your business and your right, but bear in mind that if you speak it out loud you might be breaking the law,” said Polly Harrow, the head of safeguarding and Prevent at Kirklees College in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England.
Huddersfield is in a “priority” area for the government because of the high incidence of youth being recruited for Islamic jihad.
She was interviewed by BBC Radio 4′s “Today” program regarding the government’s “counter-extremism” policy, known as Prevent.
The BBC’s Sima Kotecha explained that the government has allocated money for someone to raise concerns about students and refer them to the police, if necessary, which is Harrow’s role.
“Outlasting the Gay Revolution” spells out eight principles to help Americans with conservative moral values counter attacks on freedoms of religion, speech and conscience by homosexual activists
The policy requires teaching “British values,” such as “tolerance,” which can conflict with religious beliefs.
The government’s definition of extremism is “vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.”
In the BBC interview, Harrow emphasized that “British values” include not only tolerance but “acceptance of difference and others.”
In its counter-terrorism strategy, the British government also proposes imposing “extreme disruption orders,” which would severely limit the speech rights of individuals deemed to be extremists who haven’t broken any laws.
The Christian Institute noted Conservative Party MP David Davis has warned that restricting free speech could further alienate people, and the London Telegraph has said the government should be careful not to water down “our most precious value, freedom of expression.”
Queens Counsel David Anderson has argued that the government’s broad definition of extremism could prompt investigations of the “exercise of core democratic freedoms by large numbers of law-abiding people.”

The “Impeach Obama” banners that have appeared on overpasses across the United States could return to Dallas in the wake of a federal judge’s acceptance of a consent judgment in which the city admitted its rules violated the First Amendment.

The case was brought by the Thomas More Law Center in 2014 after city officials jumped to adopt a new ordinance to stifle criticism of Obama.
The city adopted fines of up to $500 for “certain expressive activities on pedestrian overpasses over designated highways.”
The restrictions, however, have been eliminated by a final consent judgment signed by U.S. District Judge David Godbey.
His ruling, signed Monday, said judgment was entered in favor of the protesters and against the city. He decided the city should pay a $1 penalty in the case but also nearly $25,000 in legal fees and costs.
“The nominal damages award represents a legal determination that plaintiffs suffered a deprivation of constitutional rights,” he wrote.
The legal team brought the case about a year ago on behalf of the North Dallas Chapter of Overpasses for America and its leader, Valerie Villarreal.
Judicial Watch’s “The Corruption Chronicles” pulls back the Obama administration’s veil of secrecy on topics such as Obamacare, the bailouts, Bill Ayers, voter intimidation and the president’s czars.
The case claimed the city was restricting the plaintiffs’ right to demonstrate and display signs “calling for the impeachment of President Obama and the end to illegal immigration on city overpasses over designated highways,” the law firm said.
Godbey’s ruling was “the first time the city of Dallas admitted its ordinance was an unconstitutional restriction on freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.”
“It is a good day for free speech,” said Erin Mersino, the senior trial counsel for Thomas More who handled the case.
“Overpasses for America and Valeria Villarreal may now resume their important demonstrations without fear of being fined or retaliated against by the city.”
The Dallas City Council repealed the ordinance only a few months after the case was filed.
During that process, however, the city declined to acknowledge that the ordinance unconstitutionally attacked free speech.
Before the ordinance was imposed, the North Dallas Chapter of Overpasses for America had held more than 75 demonstrations of pedestrian overpasses in Dallas without a single traffic incident.
Overpasses for America is a nonpartisan grassroots movement that calls for accountability from the nation’s leaders.
Its members often use pedestrian overpasses to spread their messages and to reach a large and diverse audience.
“The concerns of a majority of Americans on crucial issues have little impact on the Washington political establishment,” said TMLC President Richard Thompson. “That’s why it’s so important to defend the free speech rights of grassroots organizations like Overpasses for America, whose members feel it’s their patriotic duty to get their message out and mobilize their fellow citizens.”
The legal team also is representing two people in a similar case against the town of Campbell, Wisconsin, that is before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
WND reported the ordinance made it an offense to engage in any conduct, including holding a sign, intended to distract a motorist. It also barred wearing any clothing intended to attract the attention of the public.

But the lawsuit alleged the speech ban was an unconstitutional burden on plaintiffs’ rights, was overbroad and vague, failed to further public interests and had silenced the activists’ speech.
It alleged violations freedom of speech and the right to peaceable assembly.

The Man In The White Suit is a 1951 science-fiction satirical comedy film made by Ealing Studios. It starred Alec Guinness, Joan Greenwood and Cecil Parker and was directed by Alexander Mackendrick. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing (Screenplay) for Roger MacDougall, John Dighton and Alexander Mackendrick (who was a cousin of Roger MacDougall).
It followed a common Ealing Studios theme of the "common man" against the Establishment. In this instance the hero falls foul of both trade unions and the wealthy mill owners who attempt to suppress his invention.^[1]

Plot

Sidney Stratton, a brilliant young research chemist and former Cambridge scholarship recipient, has been dismissed from jobs at several textile mills in the north of England because of his demands for expensive facilities and his obsession with inventing an everlasting fibre. Whilst working as a labourer at the Birnley Mill, he accidentally becomes an unpaid researcher and invents an incredibly strong fibre which repels dirt and never wears out. From this fabric, a suit is made—which is brilliant white because it cannot absorb dye and slightly luminous because it includes radioactive elements.
Stratton is lauded as a genius until both management and the trade unions realise the consequence of his invention; once consumers have purchased enough cloth, demand will drop precipitously and put the textile industry out of business. The managers try to trick and bribe Stratton into signing away the rights to his invention but he refuses. Managers and workers each try to shut him away, but he escapes.
The climax sees Stratton running through the streets at night in his glowing white suit, pursued by both the managers and the employees. As the crowd advances, his suit begins to fall apart as the chemical structure of the fibre breaks down with time. The mob, realising the flaw in the process, rip pieces off his suit in triumph, until he is left standing in his underwear. Only Daphne Birnley, the mill-owner's daughter, and Bertha, a works labourer, have sympathy for his disappointment.
The next day, Stratton is dismissed from his job. Departing, he consults his chemistry notes. A realisation hits and he exclaims, "I see!" With that he strides off, perhaps to try again elsewhere.

The mood is somber at High Bridge Arms as the shop is closing following introduction of a law to video all gun and ammo sales and transmit data to the police department.

In July, Supervisor Mark Farrell asked city attorney’s office to draft legislation increasing restrictions on gun stores operating in the city to mandate the recording of sales, storing the videos for at least five years, and transmitting data on buyer and firearms to police at least once a week.

With the proposal’s planned introduction, owners of High Bridge Arms — the sole gun shop in the city of 830,000 — had feared the new regulations would mean the end of the shopover requirements to hand over personal information to include names, addresses and birth dates to city officials in conjunction with gun and ammo sales.

With the ordinance formally introduced earlier this month, High Bridge made it official and is having a going out of business sale.

“Dear friends and family, it’s with tremendous sadness and regret that I have to announce we are closing our shop,” the shop posted to their Facebook page. “It has been a long and difficult ride, but a great pleasure to be your last San Francisco Gun shop.”

The store is has confirmed they will clearance out their inventory in preparation to close the doors for the last time at the end of October.

“Orders for any items we don’t have must be placed before the 15th of October,” reads another notice.

The city ordinance, as outlined by Farrell, would mandate that all sales of firearms or ammo in the city limits be recorded on video and stored for a minimum of five years. Further, it directs a list of personal data be collected from any buyer and transmitted to the SFPD within a week of the sale.

To news that his legislation may force the shuttering of High Bridge, Farrell was candid.

“Prioritizing the public safety of our City’s residents always comes first, and trumps all else,” posted to his Facebook page in reference to the store’s possible closure. “My gun control reforms are intended to close known loopholes that exist in state and federal law. And, the facts don’t lie — jurisdictions with the strictest gun control laws on the books have less gun crime compared to those who don’t.”

The most high-profile recent murder in the Bay Area city, that of Kathryn Steinle, 32, has been tied to an illegal gun wielded by an undocumented immigrant with a criminal record who allegedly used a gun stolen from a Bureau of Land Management ranger’s car.

Steinle’s family are currently perusing claims for damages from the BLM, San Francisco Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, claiming the ranger’s weapon was left loaded and in plain view in his car.

While city lawmakers may see the closing as a win for public safety, Bay Area gun owners see otherwise.

“With other gun shops right outside city limits, the closing of Highbridge Arms will only result in inconveniencing law-abiding folks who will now have to drive a little extra out of their way for their firearms needs,” said Chris Cheng, Top Shot winner, NRA Commentator and city resident, to Guns.com. “I’m confident the criminals will still be able to acquire firearms through the trunks of cars and other nefarious sources within city limits.”

“I visited the shop often and there would always be regulars there hanging out and socializing,” he said. “It’s terribly sad that San Francisco will no longer have a gun shop.”

Australian Government Prepares to Punish Parents who Don’t Vaccinate Children

Families could lose up to 15,000 Australian dollars ($11,000) per child per year in tax and child care benefits

The Australian government is set to pass a law that would withhold child care and other benefits from parents who opt out of vaccinating their children.
Under the “No Jab, No Pay Bill” introduced to Parliament, the “conscientious objector” category would be removed, making parents ineligible for full government benefits for not immunizing their children. Youngsters would only be exempt due to medical reasons.
If the law is passed, families could lose up to 15,000 Australian dollars ($11,000) per child per year in tax and child care benefits starting January 1, 2016, if their children are not inoculated. [1]
There has been a rise in unvaccinated children under age 7 in Australia, due to parental concern over the potential side effects of vaccines, and worse. Over the past decade, the number of children under 7 who aren’t vaccinated has increased from 24,000 to 39,000. There are reasons for it, too. Encephalopathy, febrile seizures, anaphylaxis and hardening of the brain are two devastating conditions associated with measles immunization. And there are many reported adverse vaccine effects reported (and many more unreported) to the CDC and FDA – known as VAERS.
No matter; Australian legislators are adamant that moms and dads “jab” their kids, despite their well-founded fears.

“The choice made by some families not to vaccinate their children is not supported by public policy or medical research, nor should such action be supported by taxpayers in the form of family payments,” Social Services Minister Scott Morrison told Parliament.

One South Wales woman is rebelling against the proposed law by opening a childcare center that will welcome unvaccinated youngsters with open arms. Juanita “Wanda” Halden calls the government’s actions “human rights violations.” [3]
Halden took to Facebook to explain her decision to open the Northern Rivers, New South Wales child care facility:

“I am a woman who answers to the creator — not corporation, Therefore I am the highest authority when it comes to making the decisions concerned with my body or that of my property ‘my child’. I also value my ability to discern, research and understand the risks associated with my choices. Do not try to sway me; or my rights. You will fail.”

The law is likely to be passed without any amendments.

OPERATION GLADIO – GLOBAL SUBVERSION

In Part II we deal with the post 9/11 period. In the post 9/11 phase Gladio operations have become worldwide. The war against Communism has morphed into Global War Against Terrorism (GWOT). Terrorism is being carried out under Gladio cover, and is being used as a pretext for “humanitarian” interventions i.e. conquests and redrawing of national boundaries with the object of maximizing sustained plunder of vital resources all over the globe. Terrorism is also being used to take away hard won civil liberties in the West, to destroy resource rich Islamic countries, discredit Islam, and above all to weaken, and, if possible, dismantle Russia and China. It is not something taught in history textbooks, or mentioned in the “mainstream” media, that the masonic international bankers were behind the much touted Russian Revolution. GENESIS OF GLADIO

At the end of World War II a most secret and new development took place. The CIA had not yet been set up, but OSS, the Office of Strategic Services, established on the “advice” of the British during World War II, was in place. Allen Dulles, subsequently to head the CIA, entered into a strange agreement with the Nazi General Reinhardt Gehlen, head of the German military intelligence [9]. Dulles was a 33^rd degree Freemason [10], and was very deeply tied to the masonic international bankers. An ardent anti-Communist, Gen. Gehlen had set up secret army units, whose members were known as werewolves. These werewolves were to act as normal citizens during the daytime and become communist killers at night. Soon after the Yalta agreement, Gehlen was transported to Fort Hunt, Virginia, where he was “wined and dined” by the Rothschild agent General Donovan, head of the OSS, who was responsible for the assassination of General Patton [11].

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - About 100 supporters gathered at Memorial University of Newfoundland today to demand more accessibility for students with special needs.

The university students' union organized the event after hearing-impaired history major William Sears said a professor refused to accommodate him.
He filed a human rights complaint after the professor refused to wear an FM transmitter, citing religious beliefs.
The student union's director of advocacy Leah Robertson called for improved services, including a campus human rights office and an external review of what went wrong.
MUN President Gary Kachanoski has apologized for the incident and promised a full review of how accommodation procedures failed.
