The title comes from a key quote from an Associated Press  story via US News and World Report article announcing that a government shutdown would "suspend or delay food stamp payments to some of the 46 million Americans who receive the food aid."

"If Congress does not act to avert a lapse in appropriations, then USDA will not have the funding necessary for SNAP benefits in October and will be forced to stop providing benefits within the first several days of October," said Catherine Cochran, a spokeswoman for USDA. "Once that occurs, families won't be able to use these benefits at grocery stores to buy the food their families need."

USDA on Friday sent a letter to states asking them to hold off "until further notice" on starting the process that distributes benefits at the first of the month.

The Agriculture Department declined to give details on why the automatic funding would not continue. In the 2013 government shutdown, food stamp dollars were not affected.

As previous experience has shown, when EBT cards, welfare funds for food or cash, have previously gone down due to simply a "glitch," threats of "Rodney King style riots" have been made, stores were looted, chaos has occurred... and that was just when the system was down for less than a day.

There is an expression that we are all just "nine meals" away from anarchy, but as an article over at The SurvivalPrepper points out, that is overly optimistic because "Hungry people get desperate very quickly." The example used was the the immediate aftermath of Katrina, where in day one the looting had begun, by day two "police were ordered to abandon search and rescue missions for survivors and focus on packs of looters who are becoming increasingly violent," and on day three  CNN's Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta reportedlive from Charity hospital in New Orleans:

"... a sniper standing atop one of the buildings ... firing down at patients and doctors as they were trying to be evacuated."

Food riots have been occurring since the 17th century, (see the list over at Wikipedia), so to think for one second that "it cannot happen here" is extremely naive.

According to the original US News and World Report article, linked above, the reason that food stamps wouldn't have been affected in 2013, but will be affected this go round, is because "USDA does not have enough money in reserve to pay a full month's benefits and a partial government shutdown would affect recipients in states that pay out their benefits at the first of the month."

As you will see below, that MSM quote is patently untrue, as a screen shot of a USDA letter dated October 2013 shows the Obama administration has played this same game before, and directed states to suspend EBT/Food stamp payments until further notice.




 


BOTTOM LINE

Is this all political theater in order for one side of the political aisle to force the other to back off on their positions on the defunding of Planned Parenthood, and EBT and welfare is being used as nothing more than a political football?

The bottom line here is if there is a government shutdown and foodstamp payments are stopped... there will be nationwide riots.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to develop visa-free travel for short-term visits and transit by foreign tourists from BRICS countries, reported the Kremlin website on Tuesday. The deadline to submit proposals is set for October 30.

The BRICS bloc comprises five developing economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

 

 

Putin has also asked to make legislative changes that will increase the number of Russian ports that allow foreign sea travelers’ entry to Russia.
The idea of visa-free travel within the trade bloc was first proposed in 2013 at the 5th BRICS Summit in Durban. South Africa. It has already provided business people from BRICS easier access to the country, said South Africa’s Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba in February.

 

Among the main projects of the group is the BRICS New Development Bank that opened for operations in Shanghai on July 21 aimed at deploying $50 billion in initial capital to bankroll infrastructure and sustainable development projects. Another is the development of a $100 billion currency reserve pool, intended to protect national currencies from volatility in global markets.

A self-proclaimed “sovereign citizen” from Wood County has been arrested and charged with threatening to commit a terrorist act after he advocated a violent takeover of the West Virginia Capitol during multiple conference calls with associates and an undercover officer, according to law enforcement.
Thomas David Deegan, 39, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Wednesday by West Virginia State Police. Earlier this month, Deegan appeared with Phil Hudok, a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2014, in a lengthy, rambling Youtube video in which Deegan calls the government “a creature of the mind, a fiction of law” and calls for a return to a “lawful form of government.”
“I’m not a citizen of their corporate system,” Deegan says in the video. “I am a real man with hands and legs.” The video had more than 7,800 views, as of Thursday afternoon, and dozens of encouraging comments.
A criminal complaint against Deegan alleges that he made at least four conference calls from his home in Wood County over the past month.
“We are at war,” Deegan allegedly said. “The more bodies that come to Charleston the less likely for bloodshed.”
During a call on Sept. 14, the complaint says, Deegan asked several times for assistance in removing multiple government leaders from their offices in Charleston.
“Following the removal of these officials, control of West Virginia government would be assumed by members of the sovereign citizen movement,” the complaint says. “Deegan states that any resistance to combat law enforcement or military personnel should be met with gunfire if necessary.”
He allegedly said that he did not want gunfire, but would fire if necessary.
The more supporters he could attract, Deegan allegedly said, the less violence there would be.
“If there are more bodies on the ground, then less bloodshed,” the complaint says.
On the conference call Deegan was asked if police would support his movement, the complaint says. “If you see the police coming and pulling up in a vehicle, I suggest you shoot them,” he allegedly responded.
Deegan said that the removed officials would then be charged with treason, among other crimes, and court hearings would be held.
In a later statement, Deegan advised that the punishment for treason would be death, the complaint says.
In the Sept. 14 call, Deegan gave details about how “sovereign citizens” in other states should go about overtaking their own state capitols, the complaint says. Deegan said that West Virginia would be the “foothold” for taking back the United States, the complaint says.
He told others on the call that the event was scheduled for today, Sept. 24, and that they should learn the location of the state Capitol, the State Police office, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s office and the West Virginia National Guard facilities in Kanawha County, the complaint says.
“Technically a militia is all able-bodied persons between 18 and 49, so you don’t have to say you’re in a militia to do anything. It’s time to effectuate citizens’ arrest,” Deegan says in the Youtube video. “We would like to see thousands of people here, I would like to see it by the end of the weekend.”
Members of the sovereign citizen movement generally try to reject taxation and local, state and federal laws. According to a report this year from the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, “sovereign citizen groups were the largest perceived terrorist threat among American law enforcement agencies.
Deegan, Hudok and a third man, Gene Stalnaker, have repeatedly filed documents with the state Supreme Court, the governor’s office and the state Legislature seeking the arrest of Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Clerk of the House of Delegates Steve Harrison.
The Supreme Court denied a petition by the three men last month.
In the documents, Deegan identifies himself as Thomas David House of Deegan and the documents are stamped with a bright red fingerprint of what looks like blood.
Also named in documents posted online by the three men are all five justices of the state Supreme Court; Col. Jay Smithers, of the State Police; Sen. Joe Manchin; Secretary Joe Thornton, of the state Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety; and two assistant state attorneys general.
Lawrence Messina, spokesman for the state Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety said, “State officials are aware of information circulated through social media, and are taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety of public officials and employees, National Guard and law enforcement personnel and visitors to such public facilities as the state Capitol.”
Deegan is being held on a $300,000 bond at North Central Regional Jail. A video arraignment is planned for later today. An employee of Wood County Magistrate Court said he was uncooperative when officials tried to arraign him Wednesday.

Nuclear deal or no nuclear deal with President Obama, Iran says Israel will be destroyed.

Ataollah Salehi, commander of Iran’s army, told Iran’s state-run news agency on Tuesday Israel’s fate is sealed.
“Israel only barks, no matter how much weapons are given to [it], we are going to destroy them, we will promise this task will be done,” the Washington Free Beacon reported Thursday. “We are glad that we are in the forefront of executing supreme leader’s order to destroy the Zionist regime. They have been hit by those supported by us [Iran] even though they have not confronted us directly; if they confront us directly they will be destroyed.”
Saeed Ghasseminejad, an Iran expert and associate fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told the paper Iran will become more aggressive because it sees the Obama administration as weak.
“Iran’s military establishment neither fears nor respects the U.S. anymore,” Ghasseminejad told the Washington Free Beacon. “The U.S. faces a credibility problem in the region; the problem will be there as long as President Obama is in office.”

Salehi’s speech comes just weeks after Iran announced plans to build two new nuclear reactors in its southern Bushehr province with help from Russia.
“The contract for building two [new] power plants has been inked with Russia and the preliminary steps and their designing have already started,” Ali Akbar Salhi, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, told Fars News Agency Sept. 8, WND reported.
President Obama said the nuclear deal signed with Iran July 15 offered the world “an opportunity to move in a new direction,” Reuters reported. “We should seize it.”
Critics of the Obama administration have said the deal, forged with the help of five other world powers and Iran, only gives the nation billions of dollars in sanctions relief for use fomenting terror in the region and undermining U.S. foreign policy.

Harsh spotlight intensifies scrutiny over questionable decisions by the administration

In a startling turn of events, retired General John Allen will be stepping down as special envoy to the global coalition fighting ISIS and will be leaving government employment entirely.
President Obama’s hand-picked choice to lead the U.S. in the international effort fighting the Islamic State will call it quits just as the harsh spotlight intensifies scrutiny over questionable decisions by the administration. Bloomberg quoted four unnamed (and unverified) “administration officials” who claimed Allen “will leave government service in the coming weeks.”
“I vote for sooner rather than later,” Allen asserted to Defense One in June last year about the need for the U.S. to employ aggressive action against ISIS.  Two months later, he again emphasized the U.S.’ unique position as “the only nation on the planet capable of exerting the kind of strategic leadership, influence, and strike capacity necessary to deal with IS [ISIS, ISIL]. It is also the only power capable of organizing a coalition’s reaction to this regional and international threat.”
But his plea in that op-ed for the U.S. to attack ISIS “suddenly, swiftly, [and] surgically” went unanswered by the White House — and that unheeded advisement now drives rumors about possible underlying reasons for Allen’s exit.
As the American endeavor in the region seems to be crumbling of late, the former General’s egress isn’t so surprising. Last month, division amongst administration officials about the handling of the fight against ISIS led Lt. Gen. Robert Neller to claim the effort is now “in a stalemate.” Then last week, the head of Central Command revealed $500 million spent by the Pentagon had trained just “four or five” Syrian rebel fighters — quite a difference from the estimated “5,000 anti-ISIS Syrian rebels” they predicted would be trained by this point in time.  Now allegations have emerged that senior intelligence officials doctored records questioning the effectiveness of U.S. airstrikes — but not those that shone a favorable light on U.S. actions.
Allen disagreed with the Obama administration’s choice not to deploy tactical air control troops on the ground to aid accuracy in striking ISIS targets and to create a safe zone for civilians in Syria, as Turkey had demanded.
All controversy aside, officials insist the primary motivator for Allen’s exit is his wife’s health issues, as she suffers with an autoimmune disorder.
“John Allen has put his heart and soul into trying to make the president’s strategy work,” said former military intelligence official and coworker Derek Harvey. “I have sympathy for the hard task he was given because I do not believe the president’s team was fully on board and he was never empowered to bring the leadership necessary to achieve the mission.”
Allen will step down after just over a year as the ISIS czar. The administration is now scrambling to find his replacement.

Pope Francis, a son of immigrants making history’s first papal address to the U.S. Congress, on Thursday implored America’s leaders to accept those born in other countries as their own children, urging lawmakers to set aside political differences and embrace people who “travel north in search of a better life.”
The pope wrapped traditional Catholic teachings into a celebration of American icons including Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr., drawing lessons from their work to gently but firmly push Congress to move beyond the partisan paralysis that has blocked progress on immigration reform, climate change and other issues.

“Each son or daughter of a given country has a mission, a personal and social responsibility,” the 78-year-old pontiff said in heavily accented English. “Your own responsibility as members of Congress is to enable this country, by your legislative activity, to grow as a nation.”
The pope — a symbol of unity for the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics — crafted an address saturated in American references, with special praise for the nation’s role as “a land which has inspired so many people to dream.”

The pontiff became the first pope to address a joint meeting of Congress. Next on the itinerary are visits to St. Patrick’s Church and Catholic Charities before departing for New York.

He was pointed at times, urging the abolition of the death penalty and the end of arms trading, and warning of the dangers of religious extremism worldwide. And he was oblique at points, never mentioning the United States’ rapid embrace of single-sex marriage, but saying that “fundamental relationships are being called into question, as is the very basis of marriage and the family.”
He saved his most specific prescription for combating climate change, a cause on which he said the United States has a special obligation to lead.
“I call for a courageous and responsible effort to redirect our steps, and to avert the most serious effects of the environmental deterioration caused by human activity,” the pope said. “I am convinced that we can make a difference — I’m sure. And I have no doubt that the United States — and this Congress — have an important role to play. Now is the time for courageous actions and strategies.”

To showcase his focus on the poor, immigrants and the disenfranchised, Pope Francis went directly from the grandeur of Capitol Hill to St. Patrick in the City Church, in a neighborhood that has flipped over the last decade from marginalized to magnet. There, he prayed with people who variously wore suits and torn T-shirts, a gathering that included the homeless, the mentally ill, abuse victims and new immigrants.
The pope began the third day of his first visit to the United States in the office of House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), a devout Roman Catholic who had invited three popes over two decades to speak to Congress, and was visibly proud that one of his invitations at last had been accepted.
At 10:01 a.m., the pontiff was ushered into the packed House chamber, introduced by the House sergeant-at-arms, who said: “Mr. Speaker, the pope of the Holy See.”
Those words formally launched an event that would have been politically impossible through much of American history, when Catholics — especially waves of immigrants from Italy, Ireland and central Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries — suffered widespread discrimination.
Although members of Congress largely avoided the ostentatious displays of partisan cheering that have come to characterize the president’s annual State of the Union addresses, an ideological divide was apparent at times. In response to Francis’s passage about climate change, Democrats mostly stood and cheered, while some Republicans stayed seated and applauded mildly, if at all.
But the response to the pope’s passionate words about embracing immigrants seemed to strike a bipartisan chord. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a presidential candidate and son of Cuban immigrants, wiped away tears as the pope called himself “the son of immigrants.”

 Perhaps in response to critics’ argument that he is antagonistic to capitalism, Pope Francis tempered his call for action with a statement of support for the role that business plays in society, calling it “a noble vocation, directed to producing wealth and improving the world.”
“The creation and distribution of wealth,” he said, is a vital element in the fight against poverty and climate change.
Those looking for signs of this pope’s political direction could find evidence in the speech’s repeated references to a pantheon of liberal heroes, from Dorothy Day, who dedicated her life to a battle against poverty and war, to Thomas Merton, whose “Letters to a White Liberal,” written in 1963, urged Christians to follow their faith in service of extending civil rights to black Americans.
The pope praised King for his focus on “liberty in plurality and non-exclusion;” Day for “social justice;” and Merton for “dialogue and openness to God.”
Today, the pope said, the world is “increasingly a place of violent conflict, hatred and brutal atrocities, committed even in the name of God and of religion. We know that no religion is immune from forms of individual delusion or ideological extremism.”
In that troubled place, he said, it’s especially important for leaders to do what great Americans have always done — reject extremism and renew “that spirit of cooperation which has accomplished so much good throughout the history of the United States.”

Pope Francis implored Congress to “reject a mindset of hostility” and embrace the immigrants who come “to this land to pursue their dream of building a future in freedom.”
The pope, noting that many in Congress are also children of people who made the risky journey to America, said the nation must follow the Golden Rule and “treat others with the same passion and compassion with which we want to be treated.”
“We must not be taken aback by their numbers,” he said, “but rather view them as persons, seeing their faces and listening to their stories, trying to respond as best we can to their situation.”
Francis’s emphasis on immigrants dovetailed with the major theme of his American trip so far, a series of reminders that his papacy is very much about renewing the church’s focus on the poor and the powerless. The pope earlier this year opened a 30-bedroom homeless shelter just steps from the Vatican. He had showers set up for homeless people in St. Peter’s Square, and invited about 150 homeless people to a private viewing of the Sistine Chapel.
In Philadelphia, where he will end his U.S. visit, the pope will visit a prison to meet with inmates. In Washington, he pointedly scheduled his visit at St. Patrick’s immediately after his hour in the majestic House chamber. The plain sanctuary of the 220-year-old downtown church was filled with people who need basic life services. But as Pope Francis noted, “In prayer, there is no first or second class.”
“I need your prayers, your support,” the pontiff said, standing at a simple wooden podium before a reverentially silent flock. Would you like to pray together?”
The hush broke like the uncorking of a bottle: “Yes!”
Later this afternoon, Francis is scheduled to leave Washington, flying to New York, where he will end his day with evening services at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Fifth Avenue. He will remain in the United States through Sunday.
Americans are largely supportive of the pope’s engagement on economic, social and environmental issues. But American Catholics, who make up about one-fifth of the U.S. electorate, remain deeply divided over their church’s directives.

One Catholic congressman, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), skipped the pope’s appearance to protest Francis’s advocacy for strong action against global climate change and what Gosar sees as the pope’s failure to speak out “with moral authority against violent Islam.”
The many lawmakers who were inside the chamber on Thursday emerged with bipartisan agreement that the pope’s central message was simple: Just get along.
“It was as if he knew of the frictions and factions and reminded us that we’re here for a greater purpose,” said Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine). If some of what the pope said made members of either party uncomfortable, that was “the right thing,” Collins said. “The pope’s purpose was to challenge us, and he did so.”
But although Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Tex.) agreed that the pope’s words were bold, he worried that politicians would translate the message into partisan positions. Would Francis’s message of unity and common purpose endure in a bitterly divided Washington? Cuellar was blunt: “Knowing this Congress’s history, not for long.”
On the Capitol Lawn, many of those who watched the pope’s congressional address on giant video screens came away persuaded that Congress should — but probably won’t — take his message to heart.
“I was not expecting him to address the bipartisan divide,” said Emily Warn, 62, a writer from Seattle. “It’s as if he was trying to heal Congress. He gave them a homily, trying to broaden their view.”
In a country where the old-line Catholic population is diminishing because many families are having fewer children — though a wave of Hispanic immigrants is partly making up for that decline in numbers — the pope spoke to young Catholics, especially those who are “disoriented and aimless, trapped in a hopeless maze of violence, abuse and despair.”
They will have children, he said, only if the nation provides them with a greater sense of “possibilities for the future.”
Following the address, Pope Francis walked through the Capitol’s second floor to Statuary Hall and paused at the statue of Junipero Serra, the California missionary whom he had canonized on Wednesday.
The pontiff then joined Vice President Biden, Boehner and other congressional leaders on the Speaker’s Balcony overlooking the West Front of the Capitol, greeting an enthusiastic crowd that numbered in the thousands. He said a few words of thanks in Spanish and then, to great cheers, switched to English: “Thank you very much, and God Bless America!”
Among those gathered below was Liliana Morfin, born in Argentina, now living in Indiana. She stood with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren, thrilled to be close to her pope, the first from her country.
“I feel like he is so close to me,” said Morfin, who, like her relatives, wore blue-and-white Argentine soccer team jerseys with the pope’s name emblazoned on the back. “He may be so far, but he is close. Whatever he will say, I agree with him.”
At an environmental rally on the Mall, a few blocks beyond the Capitol Lawn gathering, E.A. Dyson, 41, of Northeast Washington, pronounced himself impressed with the religious leader. “You have reconciliation of science and faith — that they don’t have to be exclusive,” he said. “There is room for science, religion, justice, economics and the environment.”
At St. Patrick’s, the pope preached about St. Joseph, “the one I go to whenever I am in a fix.”
Noting that Jesus came into the world as a homeless person, Francis said: “You may ask: Why are we homeless, without a place to live? These are questions which all of us might well ask. Why do these, our brothers and sisters, have no place to live?”
Minutes after Francis left the sanctuary, two women lingered in a pew toward the back. Tears poured down Catalina Gallego’s face. Lilian Juarez stood beside her friend, her hands holding the pew back tightly.
“For me, we are in heaven, with this missionary from God,” Juarez said, her voice and hands trembling. “When I feel him coming through, it’s full of peace, it’s like God hugs us and makes us all together, even if we are different colors, social backgrounds — it’s like a new church. We have to keep taking care of each other! Poor! Rich! He has something special. He is not like the others.”

Why do we always want to take personal responsibility out of everything

The following story is another example of how our typical response to tragedy as Americans is to overreact and turn to complicated, unnecessary solutions to simple problems.
There was recently a tragic death in California of an autistic student who was found dead on a school bus after being left alone when a substitute driver failed to notice him sleeping on one of the seats. In response, the Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency (AVSTA) has decided to implement an iris scanning program on special needs buses. So why do I think this is worth highlighting?
First of all, how difficult is it for a bus driver to take ten seconds and walk up and down the bus after he or she is done making all the stops? Why do we always want to take personal responsibility out of everything. Should we really assume a bus driver who is too lazy to check the bus for stragglers can properly operate an iris scanner anyway?
Second, I find it noteworthy, to say the least, how rapidly AVSTA was able to launch this pilot program following the tragedy. It’s as if it was just waiting for the right opportunity to get this thing going and begin to conditioning the public. Certainly something to think about.

There is now leading edge technology to prevent this and other kinds of incidents in school transportation. Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency, JPA is conducting a pilot program in the implementation a newly developed safety and security solution on their special needs buses. Students will biometrically (Iris) scan identity as they board and exit the school bus. The IRITRANS system will notify the driver visibly and audibly if the child is about to get on or off at the wrong bus stop. When the bus reaches the end of its daily route, the driver simply ends the route on the IRITRANS mobile device and if all students have not exited the bus, the device will notify the driver both visually and audibly to recheck the bus.

Or you could just check the bus in the first place. It takes all of ten seconds.

The resistance will take the form of subverting the signifiers of wealth that exemplify the few who have benefited so greatly while everyone else lost ground.
It’s time to trade in your Jag, Mercedes, BMW (and maybe your Prius, Volvo, Lexus, etc.) before the Days of Rage start. As I’ve explained before ( As the “Prosperity” Tide Recedes, the Ugly Reality of Wealth Inequality Is Exposed), the rage of the masses who have been losing ground while the Financier Oligarchs, the New Nobility and the technocrat class reap immense gains for decades has been suppressed by the dream that they too could join the Upper Caste.
But once the realistic odds of that happening (low) sink in, the Days of Rage will begin. For those still who don’t know the facts of rising inequality, here’s what you need to know.
The top 1% skim 23% of all income:

The last time there was mass unrest in America was the civil rights/Vietnam War era. The power of the civil rights movement arose from the core injustice of segregation (separate and unequal) and institutionalized racism/bias. This institutionalized injustice drew people from all classes and ethnicities into the streets, where they were promptly beaten by police.
The anti-war’s Days of Rage drew from a different well of unrest. In effect, the college-age offspring of the great American middle class had decided that sacrificing their lives for the Domino Theory/defense of previous incalculably stupid Imperial decisions made no sense.
But when they made their doubts known, the Powers That Be’s response shocked them: we don’t care what you think, you’re going to fight our war, no questions asked. The middle class is more than an income bracket; it’s a mindset of entitlements, one of which is that the middle class’s opinions matter.
Surprise, middle class America–the Power Elites could care less what you think. If the Empire needs your sons for an insane war, deliver them to Caesar, and we’ll ship them home in body bags, or alive but hooked on smack, whatever–the individual consequences don’t count.
Seeing middle class kids destined for successful careers in the Establishment being beaten, shot down and arrested as if they were rabble laid the Imperial Project bare and disabused people of their naive faith that the Power Elites cared what they thought.
We are approaching another moment in history that disabuses what’s left of the middle class of their fantasy that they matter. The poor don’t harbor such entitlements; they know all the high-minded promises are shuck and jive. They have fewer illusions to crush.
The heavily-militarized police and the central bureaucracies of repression would love to confront an unarmed mob of middle class kids. It would be child’s play to teargas them, beat them, and trundle them off in mass arrests.
But this time around, people have gotten wise to the militarized brutality. The Occupy Wall Street movement taught us all a powerful lesson: if you assemble 500 people in a symbolically important place like Wall Street, the Power Elites will assemble 1,000 cops/F.B.I. agents et al. to crush you.
So the resistance will take the form of subverting the signifiers of wealth (when nobody’s looking) that exemplify the few who have benefited so greatly while everyone else lost ground. For example:

If you want to retain your signifier of wealth/success, you’d be better off turning it into an art car:

Alternatively, you can cover it with adverts (Eat at Joe’s). People will assume it’s a company car and you’re just the schmoe hired to drive it.
But by far the safest strategy is to dump the Jag, Benz, etc. and acquire a well-worn econobox vehicle with some rust spots and dents, a car that won’t attract any notice in a sea of other old vehicles driven by people clinging to the dignity of personal transport.
If you really want a new car, then buy a working-class hero car, i.e. a new American Muscle car: a Mustang, a Camero, a Challenger. But for goodness sakes, don’t dress like a tech-bro or a financier.
