Nuclear Power Plants Leaking Everywhere "The Agenda"

BRACEVILLE, ILL.  -----  Radio active tritium has leaked from three-quarters of U.S. commercial nuclear power sites, often into groundwater from corroded, buried piping, an Associated Press investigation shows. The number and severity of the leaks has been escalating, even as federal regulators extend the licenses of more and more reactors across the nation.

Tritium, which is a radioactive form of hydrogen, has leaked from at least 48 of 65 sites, according to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission records reviewed as part of the AP's yearlong examination of safety issues at aging nuclear power plants.

Leaks from at least 37 of those facilities contained concentrations exceeding the federal drinking water standard — sometimes at hundreds of times the limit.

While most leaks have been found within plant boundaries, some have migrated offsite. But none is known to have reached public water supplies.

Leaks are prolific 

Like rust under a car, corrosion has propagated for decades along the hard-to-reach, wet underbellies of the reactors — generally built in a burst of construction during the 1960s and 1970s. As part of an investigation of aging problems at the country's nuclear reactors, the AP uncovered evidence that despite government and industry programs to bring the causes of such leaks under control, breaches have become more frequent and widespread.

There were 38 leaks from underground piping between 2000 and 2009, according to an industry document presented at a tritium conference. Nearly two-thirds of the leaks were reported over the latest five years.

Here are some examples:
At the three-unit Browns Ferry complex in Alabama, a valve was mistakenly left open in a storage tank during modifications over the years. When the tank was filled in April 2010 about 1,000 gallons of tritium-laden water poured onto the ground at a concentration of 2 million picocuries per liter. In drinking water, that would be 100 times higher than the EPA health standard.
At the LaSalle site west of Chicago, tritium-laden water was accidentally released from a storage tank in July 2010 at a concentration of 715,000 picocuries per liter — 36 times the EPA standard.
The year before, 123,000 picocuries per liter were detected in a well near the turbine building at Peach Bottom west of Philadelphia — six times the drinking water standard.
And in 2008, 7.5 million picocuries per liter leaked from underground piping at Quad Cities in western Illinois — 375 times the EPA limit.

Subsurface water not only rusts underground pipes, it attacks other buried components, including electrical cables that carry signals to control operations. They too have been failing at high rates.

A 2008 NRC staff memo reported industry data showing 83 failed cables between 21 and 30 years of service — but only 40 within their first 10 years of service. Underground cabling set in concrete can be extraordinarily difficult to replace.

A decoy sits on Bob Scamen's pond in Braidwood, Ill., within view of the Braidwood Nuclear Power Station in Braceville, Ill. Braidwood has leaked more than six million gallons of tritium-laden water in repeated leaks dating back to the 1990s — but not publicly reported until 2005.

When a radiation leak happens in Japan the whole world hears about it, but when not one but two radiation leaks happen in the United States no one does. There are radiation leak reports in Miami and New York, why is no one talking about it?

Miami Florida Nuclear Plant Is Pumping Polluted Water Into Biscayne Bay

 

 

The University of Miami has found that the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, located just south of Miami, has caused levels of tritium, a radioactive isotope, in Biscayne Bay to spike to 200-times higher than normal levels.

Turkey Point is not the sole leaky plant in America.

Meanwhile, The Vermont Department of Health has noted ongoing investigations into leaks at Vermont Yankee since 2010, while New York’s FitzPatrick Plant has been “plagued by water leaks” in 2014, Gizmodo notes.

Last month, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo acknowledged that the

state’s Indian Point Nuclear facility was leaking tritium into ground water.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo recently called for an investigation after Indian Point, a nuclear power plant on the Hudson River reported a leak of radioactive material flowing into the ground water. Samples taken from the local groundwater show that contamination levels are 80% higher than previous samples, prompting experts to claim this leak is spreading in “a disaster waiting to happen” and calling for the plant to be shut down completely.

"Unusual Event" Declared at 

South Carolina Nuclear Facility 

OCONEE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — (Scroll down for video) — 

Fires and explosions were reported at the Oconee Nuclear Station on Sunday. The blaze is now under control.

According to WYFF, the facility has declared an “unusual event.” Emergency crews were responding. The fire chief tells local media a transformer caught fire.

Officials also said there is no public threat due to this incident. Officials say the fire broke out due to an equipment issue. They also found a down power line.

MORE: The Oconee Nuclear Station is a nuclear power plant located on Lake Keowee near Seneca, South Carolina, and has an energy output capacity of over 2,500 megawatts. It is the second nuclear power plant in the United States to have its operating license extended for an additional twenty years by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) (the application for the Calvert Cliffs plant in Maryland preceded it).

There are few people as polarizing as Hillary Clinton. She is one of the most disliked politicians in American history, and while she may be loved by a majority of liberals, she is loathed by almost everyone else (even a large number of Democrats). 

After losing the Democrat presidential nomination to Senator Barack Obama in 2008, many thought she might actually be able to build her image and become a stronger candidate for 2016. However, the opposite has been true. Instead of becoming more popular and less polarizing, she has careened headlong into a cesspool of negative media coverage based largely on her own criminal behavior, bad decisions, and imprudent political ideas.

For example, while Clinton would love to win West Virginia (and other parts of “Coal Country”), her all-out war on coal makes that unlikely. In fact, the Clinton’s had hoped to travel Logan County, West Virginia ahead of the states primary… but the good people of Logan had a different idea. Namely, that the Clinton’s stay out of Logan County and the city of Logan.

Officials from the city of Logan sent an email to Senator Joe Manchin’s office asking him to make sure the Clinton’s steer clear of their town in the coming days.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are simply not welcome in our town.  Mrs. Clinton’s anti-coal messages are the last thing our suffering town needs at this point.  The policies that have been championed by people like Mrs. Clinton have all but devastated our fair town, and honestly, enough is enough.

Logan officials feel that the Clintons will not adequately support the well-being of its voters.

On March 13, 2014 during a Democratic Town Hall event in Ohio, Hillary Clinton stated ““We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”

Good for the fine folks in Logan! 

Hillary Clinton and her fellow Democrats have been waging war against the hard working miners in Coal Country throughout the Obama era, and it is literally killing several Midwestern economies (Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania). 

These liberal politicians don’t deserve the time or the respect of the people who their policies are hurting, and more of them need to speak out against a possible Clinton presidency. 

I’ll just go ahead and add my voice to the city of Logan – I don’t want the Clinton’s in my back yard either!

Anywho, the Clintons ignored the good people of Logan and showed up anyway, only to get booed and heckled.

After walking away with the majority of delegates in Wyoming and Colorado, Sen. Ted Cruz was on a roll. His knowledge of the “obscure, internecine” delegate fights gave him a tactical advantage over front-runner Donald Trump, which could end up deciding the Republican nomination for president. 

 

“This is how elections are won in America,” said Cruz. The Texas senator saw a silver lining to his declining polls as he heads into Tuesday’s critical Indiana primary.

According to the National Review, “The political world was captivated – and Trump supporters were infuriated – by the Cruz campaign’s successful effort to elect large blocs of friendly delegates at a series of state-party conventions.” But then something unexpected happened. It seems delegates, like regular voters, are susceptible to public opinion … and public opinion was swaying toward Trump. 

The billionaire real-estate mogul trounced Cruz in Florida, Arizona, New Hampshire, and five northeastern states, which abruptly shifted the fickle political winds. "Mr. Cruz’s support among the party’s 2,472 convention delegates is softening,” noted the New York Times, “threatening his hopes of preventing Mr. Trump’s nomination by overtaking him in a floor fight.”

Cruz led a smooth, well-groomed campaign during North Dakota’s state convention. He flew in to make personal appeals, and his staffers “ran rings” around the less-organized Trump campaign by compiling and distributing lists of their preferred delegates to convention votes. Cruz’s campaign declared victory when his preferred candidates won 18 out of 25 unbound convention delegates.

But even at the time, pundits were wondering how loyal those candidates would be if the Republican nomination heads toward a contested convention in Cleveland. The delegates are vital in Cruz’s goal to deny Trump the 1,237 delegates he’ll need on the first ballot in Cleveland. Some candidates told Politico they were only leaning toward Cruz, or simply opposed to Trump.

Now, as delegates watch Cruz’s increasing struggle against Trump’s overwhelming popularity, many are rethinking their commitment, possibly concerned about a bitter convention battle that could tear the GOP apart. "I think [last Tuesday’s vote] spooked a lot of people,” says Jim Poolman, a North Dakota delegate who had previously committed to a first-ballot convention vote for Cruz. “But I want to be clear, I think the will of the people does mean something, as well. Donald Trump has gotten a lot of support across the country, and just [last Tuesday], winning five [states] is one heckuva showing.” Poolman hedged his support for Cruz by stating he will see how the remaining primaries play out.

Other North Dakota delegates also are wavering. David Hogue, a state senator and Cruz-approved delegate, told the National Review he’s been “vacillating.”

Dick Dever said, “What I have said is I’m leaning towards Cruz, but I’m not committed to anybody. And after [Tuesday’s vote], I think Trump has the momentum going forward.”

Rick Becker, a former North Dakota gubernatorial candidate who is still loyal to Cruz, is concerned about party chaos if delegates ignore the wishes of their congressional districts. “Yes, you’re unbound, you can vote for whoever you want,” he said. “But if Trump gets really close, should you even ignore your wishes, ignore your congressional district’s wishes, and just vote for Trump to try to salvage the Republican party from being torn apart?”

Jessica Unruh, a state senator on the Cruz slate, admits she is reconsidering her options. She states, “That’s why I’ve been supportive of Cruz and not fully committed to him, because I would not want to see that happen to the Republican party.”

Prior to Trump’s landslide victory in last week’s Pennsylvania primary, Cruz boasted it had dozens of staffers devoted to acquiring as many of the state’s 54 unbound delegates as possible. Despite those efforts, Cruz won only three.

This weakening of support for Cruz raises the stakes in Indiana. “With unbound delegates warily eyeing recent primary results,” noted the National Review, “there’s little chance Cruz will be able to stanch the bleeding without decisively halting Trump’s surge. Even if he does win in Indiana, Cruz will need to prove he can keep on winning, in California and elsewhere, to satisfy delegates who may personally prefer him to Trump, but are worried about throwing the party into chaos before the general election.”

Southern states, which were initially seen as firmly in Cruz’s camp, now have some delegates echoing a growing sentiment: a “sense of resignation” that Trump will win the nomination. “Honestly, we didn’t think [Trump] could get this far. And he did,” said Jonathan Barnett, the Republican national committeeman for Arkansas.

The largest concern among unbound delegates is presenting a unified front against the Democrats in November. To them, this is a bigger issue than Cruz vs. Trump.  “No matter what happens in Cleveland, I am in the ‘anybody-but-Hillary’ camp,” says Poolman. “The most important objective is to get a nominee and unite the party.”

The first series of symbols I will point out deal with the seat of the executive branch of government, the White House, indicated by the red arrow above. If you are a Google Earth user, you can see these satellite images for yourself at Google Maps.

As you can see by my outline, the White House sits at the apex of an inverted pentagram. This symbol is incomplete by only 2 small pieces, indicated by the yellow lines.

 The hexagram is nearly complete, except for 1 small piece on the north-west side, outlined in yellow.

If you draw the pentagram and hexagram symbols together, you can see three sides of a cross. Finishing the symbol on the land sitting in front of the White House reveals a perfectly symmetrical Knights Templar cross.

It has been said the Washington Monument obelisk (bottom arrow) sits due south from the White House. This is not exactly true, as you can see in the photo above. In reality, the obelisk is directly south from the Masonic Temple (top arrow) which sits 13 blocks north of the White House.
