Today’s chart shows the performance of the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index since the start of the year. This index tracks 30 huge U.S. companies like Wal-Mart (WMT) and Apple (AAPL).
After going more than a year without setting a new high, the Dow broke out to a record high in July. That was good news for U.S. stocks. But, as you can see, the Dow didn’t stay above its 2015 high for long. According to HSBC, that could be a very bad sign.

In a note to clients, Murray Gunn, the head of technical analysis for HSBC, said that he is now on “RED ALERT” for an imminent sell-off in stocks given the price action over the last few weeks.
In late September, Gunn said the stock market’s moves looked eerily similar to just before the 1987 stock market crash. Of note, Citi’s Tom Fitzpatrick also highlighted the market’s similarities to the 1987 crash just a few days ago. On September 30, Gunn said stocks were under an “orange alert” as they looked to him as if they had topped out.
And now, given the 200-point decline for the Dow on Tuesday, Gunn said that the drop is here. “With the US stock market selling off aggressively on 11 October, we now issue a RED ALERT.”
In other words, the stage is set for another “Black Monday.” As you probably know, that was the darkest day in the history of the U.S. stock market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged an incredible 22.6%.
According to Gunn and his team, the critical level for the Dow is now 17,992. For the S&P 500, it’s 2,116. If stocks dip below those levels, we could see a major selloff.
“As long as those levels remain intact, the bulls still have a slight hope,” said Gunn. “But should those levels break and the markets close below (which now seems more likely), it would be a clear sign that the bears have taken over and are starting to feast. The possibility of a severe fall in the stock market is now very high.” Watch out.
Most investors aren’t prepared for this. They still own too many stocks. They haven’t set aside enough cash. And they certainly aren’t shorting any stocks.

Earnings season is when companies tell the world if profits grew or shrank during the previous quarter. A good earnings season can lift stocks. A bad one can drag stocks lower.
If you’ve been reading the Dispatch, you know Corporate America hasn’t had a good earnings season in nearly two years. Profits have fallen five straight quarters. That hasn’t happened since the 2008–2009 financial crisis.
Heading into the current earnings season, few investors had high hopes. According to research firm FactSet, analysts expect the S&P 500 to show a 2.1% decline in third-quarter profits. This would be the sixth straight quarter that earnings have fallen.
• Alcoa Inc. (AA) unofficially kicked off the third-quarter earnings season yesterday…
The aluminum giant whiffed on sales and earnings.
The company generated $5.21 billion in sales last quarter, which is about $10 million less than Wall Street expected. Profits came in at $0.32 per share, which was lower than the $0.35 earnings per share (EPS) analysts expected.
Yesterday, Alcoa’s stock plummeted 11.4% on the news. It was the stock’s worst day since 2011.
Many analysts consider Alcoa a bellwether for industrial demand. If its business is struggling, manufacturers, equipment makers, and supply companies should struggle, too.
• Fastenal (FAST) also reported poor quarterly results yesterday…
Fastenal is one of the largest distributors of nuts, bolts, and hand tools in the United States.
Like Alcoa, its business did far worse than analysts expected last quarter. The company’s third-quarter sales came in at $126.9 million last quarter, well short of the $136.5 million analysts projected. The company missed on earnings, too. It earned a profit of $0.44 per share last quarter versus the $0.47 EPS that Wall Street expected.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Fastenal’s business suffered due to a “slowdown in construction, and continuing economic uncertainty.” Fastenal’s stock fell 5.13% yesterday on the news.
• Several other major U.S. industrial companies have also warned of big problems…
On Friday, paint maker PPG Industries (PPG) said it expects to post its first quarterly loss since 2009. PPG Industries reports its third-quarter results next Thursday.
The company’s CEO blamed its ugly quarter on the weak global economy:
We continue to operate in a sluggish economic environment with no clear near-term catalyst for improving global GDP growth. PPG’s stock plunged 9% on the news. It closed Friday at a seven-month low.
• Manufacturing giant Dover Corp. (DOV) also told investors to prepare for bad results…
On Monday, the company, which makes everything from gas pumps to refrigerators, cut its full-year profit expectations from $3.35–$3.45 to $3.00–$3.05. The company also said it expects to generate $100 million in sales this year, after it previously projected full-year sales of $110 million.
Like the head of PPG, Dover’s CEO says the weak global economy is hurting its business:
We also expect the macro global economy to remain soft, later cycle oil & gas exposed businesses to remain weak, and continued margin pressures in refrigeration & food equipment through the end of the year, as we work to streamline and improve our production systems. You might not think this is anything to worry about. After all, major industrial firms like Caterpillar (CAT) have been warning about a stalling global economy for years…and all U.S. stocks have done is keep rising.
Why would this time be different?

To understand why, just look at the chart below. It compares the S&P 500 with the earnings per share (EPS) for companies in the S&P 500. You can see the S&P 500 has kept climbing even though earnings have been falling since 2014.
The weaker the “real” economy gets, the more earnings fall. And the more earnings fall, the more expensive stocks will become…unless they fall, too. • Yesterday, the S&P 500 plunged 1.2% on the flood of weak earnings data…
It was one of the worst starts to an earnings season since the bull market in U.S. stocks began seven years ago. Bloomberg Markets reported yesterday:
U.S. stocks staged one of their worst starts to an earnings season since the bull market began.
The S&P 500 Index dropped 1.2 percent to 2,136.73, the fourth-biggest decline recorded since 2009 on the day after Alcoa Inc. reported results… Time will tell if this is the start of something big or just a routine selloff. We encourage you to prepare either way.
You can start by getting out of expensive stocks. They’ll crash harder than cheap stocks if there’s a major selloff.
You should also avoid companies that will struggle to make money if the global economy runs into serious problems. We suggest you steer clear of retailers, airlines, restaurants, or any other company that depends on a strong U.S. consumer.

Shorting is betting that a stock will fall. If it does, you make money.
In the second Presidential debate, Donald Trump said his opponent Hillary Clinton “would be in jail” if he were President. Financial expert Bill Holter contends, “I have been saying for months now, there is a better than a coin toss chance that we do not have an election. During the debate, Trump basically said he’d have his Attorney General appoint a Special Prosecutor, and you (Clinton) are going to go to jail. The problem is it’s not just Hillary. It goes throughout all of Washington, and it includes both the Democrat and Republican Party. If it looks like Trump is going to win, and he does not get assassinated, they may cancel the election by starting a war.”
Holter closed by saying, “The conservatives are not going to be separated from the liberals. When this thing goes down, it’s going to be all the American people. If this election gets stolen, all American people are going to be targeted. We are all going to be destroyed. . . . Between now and the election is extremely, extremely dangerous.”

CANNES -- In a blockbuster new video, Project Veritas has exposed the truth about the dark funding behind Hollywood's anti-fracking messaging machine.
New York Times Bestselling Author and Project Veritas founder and president James O'Keefe debuted the latest investigation at a "premiere" in Cannes, France on Wednesday.
In the investigation, an undercover journalist from Project Veritas posed as a member of a Middle Eastern oil dynasty and offered $9 million in funding to American filmmakers to fund an anti-fracking movie.
In video from a meeting with Ed Begley Jr., Mariel Hemingway and Josh Tickell, a Project Veritas investigator disguised as "Muhammed" offered $9 million for an anti-fracking film. "Muhammad" clearly states: "If Washington DC continues fracking, America will be energy efficient, and then they won't need my oil anymore."
In the same conversation, Begley and Hemingway accept the funding and agree to hide the source of funds for the anti-fracking movie. Hemingway agreeing that those who will know the source of the funding are "only at this table."
Ed Begley Jr. is an outspoken environmental activist and current Governor on the board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science (the organization that brings us the OSCARS every year.)
Mariel Hemingway is a Golden Globe- and Oscar-nominated actress.
Josh Tickell is a Sundance Film Festival Winner and the director of environmental message movies "Fuel", "The Big Fix" and "PUMP".
Team Begley even submitted a video of Oscar-nominated actor Mark Ruffalo offering his unwavering support for the fictitious anti-fracking film project.
The meeting came about after a series of discussions with Josh and Rebecca Tickell. A Project Veritas journalist posed as an ad executive seeking to broker a deal for his client ("Muhammed") to fund an American-made anti-fracking film.
In a phone call to Tickell, the ad executive states: "My client's interest is to end American energy independence; your interest is to end fracking. And you guys understand that?"
Tickell's response: "Correct. Yes, super clear."
Tickell makes it clear on the tape that revealing the source of funding for an activist film can undermine its credibility. Tickell notes that the movie "Promised Land" undermined its own message because it was labeled as being funded by Image Nation Abu Dhabi. His advice: "So rather than putting that [the source of funding] up front, don't mention that."
In a follow-up call with Josh and Rebecca Tickell, Rebecca Tickell assures our investigator: "We would never tell about where the funding is coming from. That would be really awkward for us."
Josh Tickell: "We're confident that we can keep this zip locked, you know tight, air-tight forever. If we don't protect who is kind of funding this thing, if we have to disclose that or that becomes a necessary part of it, the whole enterprise will not work."

In the video, NYC Democratic Commissioner of the Board of Elections Alan Schulkin is caught on hidden camera at a United Federation of Teachers holiday party admitting that there is widespread voter fraud in New York City.
“Yeah, they should ask for your ID. I think there is a lot of voter fraud,” said Schulkin, who elaborated on the types of voter fraud that are taking place in New York.

Branstad particularly focused on the threat to Iowans
from what he described as Islamic terrorist sympathizers in Iowa,
saying he believes the dangers have been underestimated. He added that
Trump has had the courage to bring up the issue as he travels the
country, and he noted that several terrorist attacks in the United
States have involved radicalized Muslims.
Pressed for details about the threats posed to Iowans by Islamic
terrorist sympathizers, Branstad said he receives regular updates from
the Iowa Department of Public Safety on threats of all types to Iowans,
including information on ISIS sympathizers.
"It is kind of a scary thought, when you think of all the
different challenges that we are facing. I think our Department of
Public Safety does a good job and they try to do the very best they can
and they coordinate with the federal people as well," Branstad said. But
he also said the public safety threat briefings are secret and he can't
share them with the public. He added that he was among a group of
governors who went to FBI headquarters in February for an in-depth
briefing.
"You have seen what has happened around the country," he said. "You
have seen what has happened in California and New York and New Jersey,
and Tennessee and Florida. Sure there is a threat. There is a threat
every day. We try to take it very seriously, and I think our people are
doing a good job, but I know that it is a dangerous and difficult
situation. Because of social media, ISIS and their Islamic radical
advocates are communicating with people all over the world — including
in our state."
Clinton gave two speeches for $250,000 each in 2013 and in one said
that terrorism is "not a threat to us as a nation." In the other speech
she said that Russia was not a threat.
In responding to Branstad's claim that Trump has a "secret" plan to defeat the Islamic State, the Clinton campaign issued a statement
saying, "As it turns out, the secret is that Trump has no plan.
Instead, foreign policy experts agree, the ideas Trump has mentioned are
dangerous and wrongheaded — and his anti-Muslim rhetoric and proposals
are recruiting tools for ISIS and other terror groups."
While I may not agree with Donald Trump's policies completely on
dealing with the Islamic State, I do give the man credit that he calls
out the enemy for what it is, Islam.
[Editor's Note: Someone sent me Donald Marshall's first Youtube video postings in 2012. I had intended to post the interviews at the time, but forgetfulness caused me to overlook posting them. Donald has a tremendous amount of info to relay. A lot of people, unaware of the darker and deeper workings of the Illuminated Ones, will find Don's info hard or impossible to believe, but it seems to fit with what I've learned over the years. His 2013 and 2014 interviews are much clearer in audio quality than the initial 2012 videos, so I posted those interviews at the top. Donald Marshall has so much to say, you'll learn something new in every interview, even though he's required to essentially retell the same basic story. You can make up your own mind about what to believe. His explanation of how reptilians enter the human eye (the Eye of Horus symbol) in order to access the brain and take over the body is fascinating to say the least. Donald interprets this as "shape shifting," and says the David Icke version of shape shifting is BS. Marshall refers to this type of takeover reptilian as Vrill. However, there's photographic and video evidence of human/alien hybrids shape shifting into reptilian form, so we should keep an open mind and not rush to judgment. Marshall does comes across as a sincere person and if his statements about David Icke are true, then so be it, but we should weigh his statements all the same. Marshall says he's never seen Icke's version of shapeshifting at the Cloning Center (also called Cloning Station), but reports he has seen David Icke there, and says David is controlled and only reveals what he's permitted to reveal. It's important to note that the individuals that Donald Marshall describe as being "seen" at the Cloning Center are human clones of the original person whose consciousness, according to Marshall, has been transferred into the clone's body while the "original" person is home in bed in REM sleep. Marhsall says that only certain chosen individuals are allowed to retain waking memories of what occurs at the Cloning Center and that he was allowed to retain these memories when he turned 30 years old.
Most of these interviews are friendly and open to what Marshall has to say. The two puffed up geniuses on the March 21, 2014 interview are generally hostile and want to debunk him, but he maintains his cool nonetheless, despite their attempts to sandbag him. According to Donald Marshall, the inner earth reptilians - of which there are more than one group - prefer to identify their species as "saurian". The type of reptilian that takes over the body of a human being in a process called "body snatching" or hosting, has a very different physical appearance (eyes on stalks for example) than the tall, green/brown scaly reptilains which David Icke describes. Marshall describes two types of human cloning. "Replication" involves growing a clone from babyhood into adulthood in the normal time span, while "duplication" involves growing a full size adult clone in a tank in the space of 5 months, that, when "activated," are animated by a human consciousness. These are the clones seen at the Cloning Centers.
Apparently, most Hollywood celebrities no longer want to participate in the "entertainment" horrors presented at the Cloning Centers, but are too afraid of saying anything for fear of being killed (E.g. Whitney Houston). It seems that they are hoping that Donald Marshall will carry the ball for them and make these activities widely known.

Evidence exposing who put ISIS in power, and how it was done.
The Islamic militant group ISIS, formerly known as Al-Qaeda
in Iraq, and recently rebranded as the so called Islamic State, is the
stuff of nightmares. They are ruthless, fanatical, killers, on a
mission, and that mission is to wipe out anyone and everyone, from any
religion or belief system and to impose Shari'ah law. The mass
executions, beheadings and even crucifixions that they are committing as
they work towards this goal are flaunted like badges of pride, video
taped and uploaded for the whole world to see. This is the new face of
evil.

This story makes more sense if we start in the middle, so we'll begin with the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
The Libyan revolution was Obama's first major foreign intervention.
It was portrayed as an extension of the Arab Spring, and NATO
involvement was framed in humanitarian terms.
With the assistance of U.S. and NATO intelligence and air support,
the Libyan rebels captured Gaddafi and summarily executed him in the
street, all the while enthusiastically chanting "Allah Akbar". For many
of those who had bought the official line about how these rebels were
'freedom fighters' aiming to establish a liberal democracy in Libya, this
was the beginning of the end of their illusions.
Now after Gaddafi was overthrown, the Libyan armories were looted,
and massive quantities of weapons were sent by the Libyan rebels to
Syria. The weapons, which included anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles
were smuggled into Syria through Turkey, a NATO ally. The times of
London reported on the arrival of the shipment on September 14th, 2012. (Secondary confirmation in this NYT article)
This was just three days after Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed by
the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi. Chris Stevens had served as
the U.S. government's liaison to the Libyan rebels since April of 2011.
While a great deal media attention has focused on the fact that the
State Department did not provide adequate security at the consulate, and
was slow to send assistance when the attack started, Pulitzer Prize
winning journalist Seymour Hersh released an article in April of 2014
which exposed a classified agreement between the CIA, Turkey and the
Syrian rebels to create what was referred to as a "rat line". The "rat
line" was covert network used to channel weapons and ammunition from
Libya, through southern turkey and across the Syrian border. Funding was
provided by Turkey, Saudi Arabia (the stink'n camel jockeys that the Bushes put in to power during the Iraq invasion) and Qatar.) With Stevens dead any direct U.S. involvement in that arms shipment was buried, and Washington would continue to claim that they had not sent heavy weaponry into Syria.
However as the rebels gained strength, the reports of war crimes
and atrocities that they were committing began to create a bit of a
public relations problem for Washington. It then became standard policy
to insist that U.S. support was only being given to what they referred
to as "moderate" rebel forces.
This distinction, however, had no basis in reality.
In an interview given in April of 2014, FSA commander Jamal Maarouf admitted that his fighters regularly conduct joint operations with Al-Nusra.Al-Nusra is the official Al-Qa’ida (yet another U.S.A. corporation created and financed terrorist organization) branch in Syria. This statement is
further validated by an interview given in June of 2013 by Colonel Abdel
Basset Al-Tawil, commander of the FSA's Northern Front. In this
interview he openly discusses his ties with Al-Nusra, and expresses his
desire to see Syria ruled by sharia law. (You can verify the identities
of these two commanders here in this document from The Institute for the Study of War)

'Moderate rebels'? Well it's complicated. Not that this should really come as any surprise. Reuters had reported in 2012 that the FSA's command was dominated by Islamic extremists, and the New York Times had reported that same year
that the majority of the weapons that Washington were sending into
Syria was ending up in the hands Jihadists. For two years the U.S.
government knew that this was happening, but they kept doing it.
So to review, the FSA is working with Al-Nusra, Al-Nusra is working
with ISIS, and the U.S. has been sending money and weapons to the FSA
even though they've known since 2012 that most of these weapons were

U.S. Helped Build #ISIS
Syria, we backed I believe, in some cases some of the wrong
people and not in the right part of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) that's a
little confusing to people. So I've always maintained, and go back quite
some time that we were backing the wrong types. I think it's going to
turn out maybe this weekend in a new special that Brett Baer is going to
have Friday that's gonna show some of those weapons from Benghazi ended
up in the hands of ISIS. So we helped build ISIS.
In that context, the sarin gas attacks of 2013 which turned out to have been committed by the Syrian rebels, makes a lot more sense doesn't it? If it wasn't enough that U.N. investigators, Russian investigators, and Pulitzer prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh all pinned that crime on Washington's proxies, the rebels themselves threatened the West that they would expose what really happened if they were not given more advanced weaponry within one month. (The U.S.A. corporation provided the sarin gas used against the people of Syria. It was NOT Bashar Assad that gassed his people.)
After the second sarin gas fiasco, which was also exposed and
therefore failed to garner public support for airstrikes, the U.S.
continued to increase its the training and support for the rebels.
The Syrian War What You're Not Being Told
In February of 2014, Haaretz reported
that the U.S. and its allies in the region, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and
Israel, were in the process of helping the Syrian rebels plan and
prepare for a massive attack in the south. According to Haaretz, Israel
had also provided direct assistance in military operations against Assad
four months prior (you can access a free cached version of the page here).
Then in May of 2014 PBS ran a report
in which they interviewed rebels who were trained by the U.S. in Qatar.
According to those rebels they were being trained to finish off
soldiers who survived attacks.
"They trained us to ambush regime or enemy vehicles and cut
off the road,” said the fighter, who is identified only as "Hussein."
"They also trained us on how to attack a vehicle, raid it, retrieve
information or weapons and munitions, and how to finish off soldiers
still alive after an ambush."
This is a blatant violation of the Geneva conventions. It also runs
contrary to conventional military strategy. In conventional military
strategy soldiers are better off left wounded, because this ends up
costing the enemy more resources. Executing captured enemy soldiers is
the kind of tactic used when you want to strike terror in the hearts of
the enemy. It also just happens to be standard operating procedure for
ISIS.
One month after this report, in June of 2014, ISIS made its dramatic
entry, crossing over the Syrian border into Iraq, capturing Mosul, Baiji
and almost reaching Baghdad. The internet was suddenly flooded with
footage of drive by shootings, large scale death marches, and mass
graves. And of course any Iraqi soldier that was captured was executed.
Massive quantities of American military equipmentwere seized during that operation.
ISIS took entire truckloads of humvees, they took helicopters, tanks,
and artillery. They photographed and video taped themselves and
advertised what they were doing on social media, and yet for some reason
Washington didn't even TRY to stop them.
U.S. military doctrine clearly calls for the destruction of military
equipment and supplies when friendly forces cannot prevent them from
falling into enemy hands, but that didn't happen here. ISIS was allowed
to carry this equipment out of Iraq and into Syria unimpeded. The U.S.
military had the means to strike these convoys, but they didn't lift a
finger, even though they had been launching drone strikes in Pakistan that same week.
Why would they do that?
Though Obama plays the role of a weak, indecisive, liberal president,
and while pundits from the right have had a lot of fun with that image,
this is just a facade. Some 'presidents', like George W. Bush, rely
primarily on overt military aggression. Obama gets the same job done,
but he prefers covert means. Not really surprising considering the fact
that Zbigniew Brzezinski was his mentor. (Obama gets issued his 'orders' from the powers behind the scenes just like all the other criminal U.S.A. corporation officers receive.)

Those who know their history will remember that Zbigniew Brzezinski
was directly involved in the funding and arming of the Islamic extremists
in Pakistan and Afghanistan in order to weaken the Soviets.

By the way, Osama bin Laden was one of these anti-Soviet "freedom fighters" the U.S.A. 'government' was funding and arming. (The REAL OBL's family were in tight with the Bush cartel. and OBL was a stooge for the American/Bush CIA.)
This operation is no secret at this point, nor are the unintended side effects.
The strategy worked. The Soviets invaded, and the ten years of war
that followed are considered by many historians as being one of the
primary causes of the fall of the USSR.
This example doesn't just establish precedent. What we're seeing
happen in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria right now is actually a
continuation of an old story. Al-Nusra and ISIS are ideological and
organizational decedents of these extremist elements that the U.S.
'government' made use of thirty years ago. (and CONTINUES)
The U.S. the went on to create a breeding ground for these extremists
by invading Iraq in 2003. Had it not been for the vacuum of power left
by the removal and execution of Saddam, Al-Qaeda in Iraq, aka ISIS,
would not exist. And had it not been for Washington's attempt at
toppling Assad by arming, funding and training shadowy militant groups
in Syria, there is no way that ISIS would have been capable of storming
into Iraq in June of 2014.
On every level, no matter how you cut it, ISIS is a product of U.S. government's twisted and decrepit foreign policy.
Why did the U.S. government back Saddam in 1980 when he launched a war
of aggression against Iran, even though they knew that he was using
chemical weapons?
Why did the U.S. fund and arm Islamic extremists in
Afghanistan against the Soviets?
There's a pattern here if you look closely. This is a tried and true geopolitical strategy.
Step 1: Build up a dictator or extremist group which can then be used
to wage proxy wars against opponents. During this stage any crimes
committed by these proxies are swept under the rug. [Problem]
Step 2: When these nasty characters have outlived their usefulness,
that's when it's time to pull out all that dirt from under the rug and
start publicizing it 24/7. This obviously works best when the public has
no idea how these bad guys came to power.[Reaction]
Step 3: Finally, when the public practically begging for the
government to do something, a solution is proposed. Usually the solution
involves military intervention, the loss of certain liberties, or both.
[Solution]
ISIS is extremely useful. They have essentially done Washington dirty
work by weakening Assad. In 2014, while the news cycle has focused
almost exclusively on Ukraine and Russia, ISIS made major headway in
Syria, and as of August they already controlled 35% of the country.
Since ISIS largely based in Syria, this gives the U.S. a pretext to
move into Syria. Sooner or later the U.S. will extend the airstrikes
into Assad's backyard, and when they do U.S. officials are already making it clear that both ISIS and the Syrian government will be targeted.
That, after all, is the whole point. Washington may allow ISIS to
capture a bit more territory first, but the writing is on the wall, and
has been for some time now.
The Obama administration has repeatedly insisted that this will never
lead to boots on the ground. (HUGE LIE, of course, because U.S.A. /NATO troops have had 'boots on the ground' for months now, working with ISIS and others to overtake Syria and seize control of the gas pipelines, interfering with the agreement between Syria and Russia). However, the truth of the matter is that
anyone who understands anything about military tactics knows full well
that ISIS cannot be defeated by airstrikes alone. In response to
airstrikes, ISIS will merely disperse and conceal their forces. ISIS
isn't an established state power which can be destroyed by knocking out
key government buildings and infrastructure. These are guerrilla
fighters who cut their teeth in urban warfare.
To significantly weaken them, the war will have to involve ground troops, but even this is a lost cause.
U.S. troops could certainly route ISIS in street to street battles for
some time, and they might even succeed in fully occupying Syria and Iraq
for a number of years, but eventually they will have to leave, and when
they do, it should be obvious what will come next.
The puppets that the U.S. government has installed in the various
countries that they have brought down in recent years have, without
exception, proven to be utterly incompetent and corrupt. (Exactly like the U.S.A. corporation that put them in power.) No one that
Washington places in power will be capable of maintaining stability in
Syria. Period.
Right now, Assad is the last bastion of stability in the region. He
is the last chance they have for a moderate non-sectarian government and
he is the only hope of anything even remotely resembling democracy for
the foreseeable future. If Assad falls, Islamic extremist will take the
helm. They will impose shari'ah law, and they will do everything in
their power to continue spreading their ideology as far and wide as they
can.
If the world truly wants to stop ISIS, there is only one way to do it:
1. First and foremost, the U.S. government and its allies must be
heavily pressured to cut all support to the rebels who are attempting to
topple Assad. Even if these rebels that the U.S. is arming and funding
were moderate, and they're not, the fact that they are forcing Assad to
fight a war on multiple fronts, only strengthens ISIS. This is lunacy.
2. The Syrian government should be provided with financial support,
equipment, training and intelligence to enable them to turn the tide
against ISIS. This is their territory, they should be the ones to
reclaim it.
Now obviously this support isn't going to come from the U.S. or any
NATO country, but there are a number of nations who have a strategic
interest in preventing another regime change and chaotic aftermath. If
these countries respond promptly, as in right now, they could preempt a
U.S. intervention, and as long this support does not include the
presence of foreign troops, doing so will greatly reduce the likelihood
of a major confrontation down the road.
3. The U.S. government and its allies should be aggressively
condemned for their failed regime change policies and the individuals
behind these decisions should be charged for war crimes. This would have
to be done on an nation by nation level since the U.N. has done nothing
but enable NATO aggression. While this may not immediately result in
these criminals being arrested, it would send a message. This can be
done. Malaysia has already proven this by convicting the Bush administration of war crimes in abstentia.
Now you might be thinking: "This all sounds fine and good, but what
does this have to do with me? I can't influence this situation."
That perspective is quite common and, for most people, it's
paralyzing but the truth of the matter is that we can influence this.
We've done it before, and we can do it again.
I'll be honest with you though. This isn't going to be easy. To
succeed we have to start thinking strategically. Like it or not, this is
a chess game. If we really want to rock the boat, we have to start
reaching out to people in positions of influence. This can mean talking
to broadcasters at your local radio station, news paper, or t.v.
station, or it can mean contacting influential bloggers, celebrities,
business figures or government officials. Reaching out to current
serving military and young people who may be considering joining up is
also important. But even if it's just your neighbor, or your coworker,
every single person we can reach brings us closer to critical mass. The
most important step is to start trying.

They are using an incremental approach to the Syrian war to avoid
backlash. Obama is now seeking an authorization for the use of military
force (AUMF) to expand the use of ground troops in Syria. The mainstream
media is providing him cover by focusing on the claim that the use of
such troops will be "limited".
They fail to mention that "limited" in corporate/government double
speak actually translates into an authorization for small scale ground
invasions all over the planet.
According to Bloomberg,
these "limited" troops would be comprised of "advisers, special
operations forces, Joint Terminal Attack Controllers to assist U.S. air
strikes and Combat Search and Rescue personnel." Also "There are no
geographic limitations, so the administration would be free to expand
the war to other countries." (Here they go again - war, war, war, war, war, war, and illegal actions via The Geneva Convention.)
