Will Obama Seize Americans’ Savings?

Supposedly in order to stave off an “economic apocalypse”—reminiscent of the banshee Barack Obama’s recent sequestration road show—Cyprus called for a “tax”—that is, confiscation—of between six and ten percent of its citizens’ bank accounts.

Yesterday, they floated the idea of nationalizing—that is, confiscating—pensions.

Today, the European Union is pushing to “freeze”—that is confiscate— bank accounts of the “bad” banks—forget about six and ten percent; they’re talking about forty percent!

They use terms like “tax,” “freeze,” or “nationalize”; but the operative word here is “confiscation.”

Obama would call it “paying their fair share.”

Although “theft” would be the word most would use.

The whole fiasco matters little as far as Cyprus is concerned. We’re talking about the EU wanting to “freeze” $13 billion. America spends that much funding Obama’s endless golf outings.

But when Americans heard that the European Union could force a sovereign nation to confiscate private citizens’ bank accounts, there was a collective gasp. Our economy is intimately tied with the European Union; and in fact, Americans have largely funded the endless bailouts through our having to pony up fundsfor the IMF. So when it was heard that the EU could confiscate private citizens’ bank accounts or pensions, we knew they could do it to virtually any country in the EU—and in fact, many now are talking about a “tax” of 15% on Italians’ savings.  What country is next? Germany? The UK?

What about the United States?

Far fetched?

Not at all. Obama and his gaggle of leftists were actually floating the idea of nationalizing 401Ks and IRAs in 2010—and only were stopped in their tracks when they lost the House in the 2010 midterms.

Under the auspices of a “bailout” for Big Labor’s bankrupt pensions—the same Big Labor that has donated half a billion dollars  to Obama’s endless campaign—Democrats were planning on confiscating Americans’ retirement accounts and funneling the money to their Big Labor backers.  The cover was the creation of what they called a Guaranteed Retirement Account—GRA—another government takeover that dwarves ObamaCare’s takeover of the healthcare industry.

Is this something a radicalized Obama administration floated, then rejected, in 2010?

Not at all. Obama’s just doing it, as always, via a Trojan Horse. Called “Automatic IRAs,” Obama’s budget proposals for 2013 include a preliminary government takeover of Americans’ retirement accounts by mandating employers contribute a certain amount to their employees’ retirement.

Of course, this employer mandate sounds oddly similar to ObamaCare’s mandate to buy health insurance, which is nothing more than a Trojan Horse for single-payer—that is, socialized healthcare.

And the “Automatic IRA” will be a Trojan Horse for nationalizing retirement accounts.

But this is only the beginning. Barack Obama and his gaggle of leftists are out for the motherlode: full-blown socialism.

Behind the scenes, the Obama administration is waiting for the European Union to collapse; waiting for the U.S. stock market to crash; and, like a vulture waiting for his prey to die, waiting for the U.S. economy itself to collapse.

Enter George Soros,  dubbed “The Man Who Broke the Bank of England,” who funneled hundreds of millions of dollars out of the British economy with the collapse of the British pound and is now about to gut the European Union with the impending collapse of the Euro.

And now he’s out for blood when the U.S. stock market collapses.

The stock market in recent weeks has been at record levels. Many have predicted a stock market crash—losing up to 90% of its value—although those on the hard Left, especially our friend George Soros, won’t say it openly.

Soros, along with a gaggle of other banksters, have dumped most of their stock in the banking industry and are stockpiling a massive amount of gold.

And Obama and Soros have a secret that they’re keeping wraps on: If the stock market crashes, the economy itself will collapse.

Presto Chango!—or in Obama speak, “Change you can believe in!”

When the stock market and economy collapse, Obama—with Soros no doubt at the helm—will call for “nationalizing” Americans’ retirement accounts—“coincidentally” estimated to be close to the amount of the current national debt—$18 trillion—in order to, in Obama’s words, “Get our fiscal house in order.”

And if retirement accounts are “nationalized”—that is, stolen—why not nationalize everything—that is, why not have full blown Marxism?

Why not, indeed?

Of course, the American people won’t go willingly. Those who “cling to their guns and religion” will fight Barack Obama tooth and nail.

Is this why the Obama administration has been on the war path trying to gut the Second Amendment?

Is this why the Obama administration has stockpiled two billion rounds of ammunition?

Is this why the Obama administration has been stockpiling light armored tanks, preparing for a literal civil war on the streets of America?

A civil war in America?

You betcha!

When the manufactured “economic crisis” is over, Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America will be complete, with a Marxist utopia safely in place.

Is this all a wild conspiracy theory?

Me personally, I don't believe that my $$$ is safe in U.S. banks for long. The FDIC is only insurance, this has nothing to do with money confiscation.

The bankers of the world have formed an alliance for the nwo. They all believe that our $$$ belongs to them. So I'm not waiting for a collapse that I believe will occur here in the USA. Call it panic, paranoid, whatever you want, if it happens in Europe, it's a solemn warning that it's about to become a sad reality here. The people of Cyprus let it happen, they were passive and did nothing to prevent the bankers from stealing there money. So what now, the banks are being bailed out. Their clients are only allowed to take out a certain amount every week. Plus they are still going to be taxed I think it's 6% of their savings. Now I was told that Italy, Spain & Portugal are next on the list for $$$ confiscation. This is a litmus test to see what the peoples reactions are going to be.

In a move that is reminiscent of the tyrannical actions of Abraham Lincoln that led to the War of Northern Aggression, Barack Obama says that he will not wait on states to enforce Obamacare.

Instead his administration has announced its intent is to completely disregard the state’s Tenth Amendment rights to nullification of the Obamacare law, via their passed legislation and state constitutions. In fact, his administration has said that in states where they refuse to comply with federal healthcare mandates that agents from the Department of Health and Human Services will assume absolute control over the state’s health insurance industry.
Politico reports,

Insurance regulation is a huge responsibility that’s been closely guarded by the states. That’s why the Obama administration and those closely watching the rollout of Obamacare believe that even states that have sworn off the law’s coverage expansions will still enforce its new measures — including new benefit mandates, cost-sharing guidelines and rules on how insurers rate customers — to retain control over their health insurance markets.

But the feds will be overseeing the health care law in Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming after those states told HHS they couldn’t or wouldn’t implement the new rules.

“We are enforcing because Oklahoma notified … that it has not enacted legislation to enforce or that it is otherwise not enforcing the Affordable Care Act market reform provisions,” Gary Cohen, director of the federal Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, wrote to the Oklahoma Insurance Department on Friday. Officials in Missouri, Texas and Wyoming received similar letters, an agency spokeswoman said.

The enforcement letters come a little more than a month after a Commonwealth Fund report found just 11 states and Washington had started to adjust state laws to prepare for seven major ACA insurance reforms taking effect in 2014.

In a statement by Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak he said, “It is unfortunate that health insurers are being forced into a system of dual regulation by the overreaching Obama administration. My position on this has never wavered, and I welcome every opportunity to try to overturn Obamacare.”

In a letter sent to Cohen, it was clearly stated that the Oklahoma Insurance Department does not have the authority to enforce federal law.

“The Oklahoma Insurance Department regulates the health insurance policies sold in the state and responds to consumer questions and complaints. Our consumer assistance team receives over 30,000 phone calls and our website receives over 1,000,000 visits each year,” the letter said.

“We will continue to serve these consumers by adhering to our duties under the State Constitution and Statutes. The consumers are the ones who are going to bear the costs of these unnecessary federal regulatory burdens.”

The Tulsa World reports:

Meanwhile, health insurance companies doing business in Oklahoma are receiving letters from Cohen telling them that enforcement of the law’s requirements will be handled by the federal agency. A state health insurance trade group said the additional level of regulation is troubling.

“The Oklahoma Association of Health Plans’ members are very concerned about the impact dual regulations will have on administrative expenses and premiums paid by our consumers,” said Executive Director Laura Brookins.
Essentially, health coverage that will be sold through a federally run health insurance exchange starting next year will be regulated by the federal government, but coverage outside the exchange — sold by the same companies — will face different rules, forms and officials.

“Unfortunately for everyone, this dual oversight process will result in increased costs for all Oklahoma health plans,” Brookins said.

Doaks warns that this additional level of regulation, or duplicate regulatory scheme will result in increased costs to the consumer. “Oklahomans should be alarmed,” he said.

Deputy insurance Commissioner Mike Rhoads says the two regulatory structures will simply make things needlessly confusing. “Since statehood we’ve been doing this and frankly we’re the … experts in the regulatory matters,” Rhoads said. “I’m not going to say that they can’t do it, but they damned sure can’t do it as efficiently as we can.”

Joe Wolverton at The New American writes,

When it was informed that Oklahoma would not — in fact, legally could not — comply with ObamaCare mandates, HHS was not deterred, proposing instead the establishment of a “collaborative enforcement arrangement.” This deal would permit the feds to force ObamaCare on Oklahomans while allowing the Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) to ostensibly keep its hands clean.

As if that weren’t insulting enough, included in the cache of documents provided to The New American was the letter mentioned above that was sent to Oklahoma insurance companies from HHS informing them that since Oklahoma cannot or will not enforce the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare), this responsibility has been assumed by CMS.

Furthermore, as part of its oversight, CMS demands in the letter that insurance companies “submit all group and individual health insurance policy forms, certificates, riders, endorsements, and amendments, as well as any other requested material pertinent to the market reforms of the Affordable Care Act to CMS for review.”

Then, lest insurance companies in Oklahoma doubt who’s in charge of healthcare in the Sooner State, the letter declares that “a filing with the Oklahoma Insurance Department does not constitute a filing with CMS for these purposes.”

In other words, the Obama administration could care less about the boundaries of the Constitution, the Tenth Amendment or anything else regarding the law. They believe they are above the law and will seek to force unlawful laws upon a law abiding people. This is a tyrannical Federal government that is seeking to usurp state constitutions and the will of the people in those states, including nullification legislation that has passed through state legislatures.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee (send them a note) can either begin awarding the peace prize to opponents of war or continue on its current course — one which already has many questioning, not whether Manning is worthy of the prize, but whether the prize is worthy of Manning.

Whistleblower Bradley Manning has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, and he should receive it.

No individual has done more to push back against what Martin Luther King Jr. called “the madness of militarism” than Bradley Manning. The United States is the leading exporter of weapons and itself spends as much preparing for more wars as the rest of the world combined.
Manning is the leading actor in opposition to US war-making, and therefore militarism around the world. What he has done has hurt the cause of violence in a number of other nations as well.
And right now, remaining in prison and facing relentless prosecution by the US government, Manning is in need of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Alfred Nobel’s will left funding for a prize to be awarded to “the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”
The intent of the prize was to fund this work. As a result of enormous legal expenses, Bradley Manning is in need of that funding, unlike some other peace prize recipients. In addition, his secret trial — with a potential death sentence — could use all the attention that can be shined on it.
The people of the United States and the rest of the world have learned more about the intentions of the U.S. government from Bradley Manning than from anyone else. “Thanks to Manning’s alleged disclosures, we have a sense of what transpired in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have an image of how Washington operates in the world,” author Chase Madar wrote in his book about Manning’s whistleblowing.
“Thanks to those revelations we now know just how our government leaned on the Vatican to quell opposition to the Iraq War. We now know how Washington pressured the German government to block the prosecution of CIA agents who kidnapped an innocent man, Khaled El-Masri, while he was on vacation. We know how our State Department lobbied hard to prevent a minimum wage increase in Haiti, the hemisphere’s poorest nation.”
Manning revealed a secret U.S. war in Yemen, U.S. records of massive civilian deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan, video of a U.S. helicopter attack on civilians and their rescuers in Baghdad, and facts about the corruption of numerous governments including those of the United States, Tunisia, and Egypt. In those last two nations Manning’s revelations contributed to nonviolent pro-democracy movements.
Among the revelations made by Manning through WikiLeaks is the extent of time and energy the U.S. State Department puts into marketing U.S. weapons to the world’s governments. We all have a better understanding of the work that is needed for peace as a result of this exposure of “diplomacy” as consisting so greatly of weapons selling.
The Guardian newspaper and BBC Arabic detailed last week how the United States armed and trained Iraqi police commando units that ran torture centers and death squads. Maggie O’Kane, executive producer of the documentary, said:
“I hope this film will be a legacy that actually says, ‘If you want to go to war, this is what war means. It means 14-year-old boys being hung up and tortured. It means men being turned on spits. And that’s called counter-insurgency. . . .’ This would not be coming to light if it hadn’t been for Bradley Manning.”
Not only has Manning done the most to resist militarism, but he has done it for its own sahem a nonot by either begin awarding the peace prize to opponents of war or continue on its current coand by his earlier communications in the chat logs that have long been a part of his case. Manning was horrified by crimes and abuses. He believed the public should know what was happening. He believed democracy was more important than blind subservience in the name of a “democracy.”
Manning has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the Movement in the Icelandic Parliament, the Pirates of the EU; representatives from the Swedish Pirate Party, and the former Secretary of State in Tunisia for Sport & Youth. The nomination states, in part:
“These revelations have fueled democratic uprisings around the world, including a democratic revolution in Tunisia. According to journalists, his alleged actions helped motivate the democratic Arab Spring movements, shed light on secret corporate influence on the foreign and domestic policies of European nations, and most recently contributed to the Obama Administration agreeing to withdraw all U.S. troops from the occupation in Iraq.”

CNN) -- In February, Esquire magazine published a lengthy profile of "The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden." The story did not identify the killer by his real name, referring to him only as "the Shooter." The Shooter told Esquire he encountered al Qaeda's leader face-to-face in the top-floor bedroom of the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where he'd been hiding for more than five years. The Shooter said the al Qaeda leader was standing up and had a gun "within reach" and it was only then that the Shooter fired two shots into bin Laden's forehead, killing him. That account was in conflict with the narrative from another raid participant in a wildly successful book, "No Easy Day." Peter Bergen Peter Bergen Now, another member of the secretive SEAL Team 6, which executed the bin Laden raid, tells CNN the story of the Shooter as presented in Esquire is false. According to this serving SEAL Team 6 operator, the story is "complete B-S." Watch more: Peter Bergen examines the differing accounts on "The Lead with Jake Tapper" SEAL Team 6 operators are now in "serious lockdown" when it comes to "talking to anybody" about the bin Laden raid and say they have been frustrated to see what they consider to be the inaccurate story in Esquire receive considerable play without a response. Phil Bronstein, who wrote the 15,000-word piece about the Shooter for Esquire, was booked on CNN, Fox and many other TV networks after his story came out. Twenty-three SEALs and their interpreter launched the assault on the bin Laden compound just after midnight on the morning of May 2, 2011. They shot and killed bin Laden's two bodyguards, one of bin Laden's sons and the wife of one of the bodyguards, and wounded two other women. SEALs' accounts differ Who really killed bin Laden? Reported bin Laden killer speaks out 2011: 3 of bin Laden's wives identified The first three SEALs to make it to the top floor of the compound were "the point man," "the Shooter" profiled by Esquire, and Matt Bissonette, the SEAL who wrote "No Easy Day" under the pseudonym Mark Owen. What actually happened the night of the raid, according to the SEAL Team 6 operator who I interviewed, is that the "point man" ran up the stairs to the top floor and shot bin Laden in the head when he saw what looked like bin Laden poking his head out of his bedroom door. The shot gravely wounded al Qaeda's leader. Having taken down bin Laden, the point man proceeded to rush two women he found in the bedroom, gathering them in his arms to absorb the explosion in case they were wearing suicide vests, something that was a real concern of those who planned the raid. 'Nightmare' at home for SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden Two more SEALs then entered bin Laden's bedroom and, seeing that the al Qaeda leader was lying mortally wounded on the floor, finished him off with shots to the chest. This account of bin Laden's demise is considerably less heroic than the Shooter's version in Esquire, in which he says he shot bin Laden while he was standing up and only after he saw that the al Qaeda leader had a gun within reach. The SEAL Team 6 operator who spoke to me says there is no way the Shooter could have seen a gun in bin Laden's reach because the two guns that were found in the bedroom after the shooting were only discovered after a thorough search and were sitting on a high shelf above the frame of the door that opened to the room. SEAL commander rebuts 'Shooter' claim The SEAL operator also points out there was a discussion before the raid in which the assault team was told "don't shoot the guy (bin Laden) in the face unless you have to" because the CIA would need to analyze good pictures of bin Laden's face for its facial recognition experts to work effectively. Yet the Shooter in the Esquire story says he shot bin Laden on purpose twice in the forehead. A U.S. official familiar with the details of the raid said the SEAL Team 6 operator's version is in line with what happened. That account "has it right in my view," the official said. Watch computer animation of the different accounts The SEAL Team 6 operator also tells CNN that the Shooter was "thrown off" the Red Squadron, the core of the SEAL Team 6 group that carried out the bin Laden raid, because he was bragging about his role in the raid in bars around Virginia Beach, Virginia, where SEAL Team 6 is based. In the Esquire article, the Shooter complains he is receiving no pension, since he left the military four years before the minimum 20 years required to be eligible. CNN spoke with Bronstein, the Esquire writer, who says he passed on CNN's written questions about the Shooter's role in the raid to his story's main character. The Shooter has not responded to those questions, and Bronstein declined to be interviewed on-the-record for this story. Stephanie Tuck, a spokeswoman for Esquire, said via e-mail the magazine stands by its story. "The Esquire article, 'The Shooter: The Man Who Killed Osama Bin Laden,' in the March 2013 issue, is based on information from numerous sources, including members of SEAL Team 6 and the Shooter himself, as well as detailed descriptions of mission debriefs." More questions were raised about the Esquire story's version of events Monday on SOFREP, a website that covers the Special Operations community. The queries came from former Navy SEAL Brandon Webb in a posting entitled, "Esquire Is Screwed: Duped By Fake UBL 'Shooter.'" 2011: SEALs who killed bin Laden concerned for their safety According to present and former members of SEAL Team 6, the "point man" who fired the shot that likely mortally wounded bin Laden will never "in a million years" speak publicly about his role in the raid, and they lauded his courageous decision to throw himself on the two women in bin Laden's room. The new account of the bin Laden raid provided by the serving SEAL Team 6 operator is essentially the same as in Bissonnette's "No Easy Day." Bissonnette says he was one of the first to run into the bedroom and he saw that the point man's shots had mortally wounded bin Laden. Bissonette says he then shot the dying al Qaeda leader as he lay on the floor. Present and former members of SEAL Team 6 say they regard Bissonnette as more credible than the Shooter. Balanced against that, according to a story filed by CNN's Barbara Starr last year, after the publication of "No Easy Day," the head of U.S. special operations, Adm. William McRaven, contacted members of the Navy SEAL team that killed bin Laden. According to Pentagon officials, the SEALs said bin Laden was standing in his bedroom when he was shot and they believed that he posed a threat because there were weapons in the room. This account tends to bolster the story the Shooter told Esquire. In a previous CNN.com story about the Esquire profile, I noted that I was the only outside observer allowed to tour bin Laden's Abbottabad compound before it was demolished in late February 2012. During that tour, I looked around the bedroom where bin Laden was killed. The Pakistani military officers who were guiding me pointed out a patch of dark, dried blood on the low ceiling of bin Laden's bedroom. This patch of congealed blood seems to be consistent with the Shooter's story that he fired two shots at the forehead of a "surprisingly tall terrorist" while he was standing up. At the time, the precise location of bin Laden when he was shot was not a matter of dispute. But the blood patch could also be consistent with the account that it was the "point man" who first shot bin Laden. The point man is 5 feet 6 inches tall and was shooting upward at a tall man as he poked his head out of his bedroom. 2011: Obama meets bin Laden raiders, promises victory over al Qaeda The compound is, of course, now gone, so it is no longer possible to reconstruct what happened the night of the raid based on forensic evidence, although it is possible the Abbottabad Commission, a panel that was appointed by the Pakistani government to look into the raid, could shed some light on this question should its findings ever be publicly released. Finally, by all accounts, it was a confusing situation the night of the raid. One of the SEAL team's helicopters had crashed and there was a firefight with one of bin Laden's bodyguards. All the electricity in the compound and the surrounding neighborhood was off on a moonless night and the SEALs were all wearing night vision goggles, which only allowed them limited vision. What seems incontrovertible is that the point man, the Shooter and Bissonnette were the first three SEALs to assault bin Laden's bedroom. But to determine exactly which of them killed the al Qaeda leader may never be possible. What is certain is that it was a team effort. Five days after the bin Laden raid, members of the SEAL team who carried out the mission briefed President Barack Obama. According to those in the room, the SEAL team commander explained to the president, "If you took one person out of the puzzle, we wouldn't have the competence to do the job we did; everybody's vital.
