The Year was 1955

THE YEAR WAS 1955
Did you hear the post office is
thinking about charging 7 cents
 just to mail a letter?
[]

If they raise the minimum wage

to $1.00, nobody will be able to
hire outside help at the store.
[]

When I first started driving, who

would have thought gas would
someday cost 25 cents a gallon? Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.
[]

I'm afraid to send my kids to the
movies any more. Ever since they
let Clark Gable get by with saying "DAMN" in GONE WITH THE WIND, it seems every new movie has either "HELL" or "DAMN" in it.

I read the other day where some
scientist thinks it's possible to put
a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows they call "astronauts" preparing for it down in Texas.

Did you see where some baseball

player just signed a contract for
$50,000 a year just to play ball!? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President...
[]

I never thought I'd see the day

all our kitchen appliances would
be electric; they're even making electric typewriters now.
[]

It's too bad things are so tough

nowadays. I see where a few
married women are having to work to make ends meet.
[]

It won't be long before young

couples are going to have to hire
someone to watch their kids so they can both work.
[]

I'm afraid the Volkswagen car

is going to open the door to a
 whole lot of foreign business.
[]

Thank goodness I won't live to
see the day when the Government
takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government.

The "Fast Food" restaurant is

convenient for a quick meal,
but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.
[]

There is no sense going on short

trips anymore for a weekend. It
costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel.
[]

No one can afford to be sick
anymore. At $15.00 a day in
the hospital, it's too rich for my blood.
[]

If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a haircut, forget it.

Greece’s threat to the European economic recovery

Greece’s threat to the European economic recovery

It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of the Greek government’s failure today to secure sufficient votes in parliament to choose a new president for the country. Since such a failure not only forces Greece to hold snap elections by the end of January, which could see the coming to power of a radical left-wing government. It also raises the real possibility that Greece will be forced to exit the Euro in 2015 that would be a major blow to the prospects of a meaningful European economic recovery.
On the basis of current electoral polls, the Syriza Party, headed by Alexis Tsipras, should win the parliamentary elections now scheduled for January 25. Judging by Syriza’s consistent electoral promises, if elected one must expect that Syriza will roll back the austerity policies imposed on Greece by the IMF, the ECB, and the European Union (the so-called “troika”). Syriza must also be expected to reverse many of Greece’s recent structural reforms in the labor market and in the area of privatization policy. In addition, it will more than likely insist on substantial official debt relief from the ECB, the IMF, and its European partners.
The prospect of a Syriza government taking office is already sending shudders through the Greek financial markets and is undermining confidence in the still very depressed Greek economy. One must expect that the election of Syriza will put Greece on a collision course with both the troika and the German government. Since it is difficult to see how the troika and  the German government can accede to Greece’s request for either debt relief or for additional budgetary financing at a time that Greece’s economic policy would be going in a direction clearly unacceptable to its European partners. For its part, it is difficult to see how Syriza can quickly make a policy U-turn from a position that it has been consistently espousing these past few years.
To be sure, a month in Greek politics is a long time and Syriza is by no means assured of electoral victory. However, it would seem that even in the best case scenario of a New Democracy win, it would fall well short of the votes needed for forming a majority government. With a deeply divided PASOK Party highly likely to be decimated in the elections, New Democracy will have difficulty in forming a stable coalition government. It is also likely that in the election campaign, New Democracy will emphasize that if re-elected it too will take a tough line with the troika, from which line it will be difficult to withdraw after the elections.
Greece’s already battered economy can ill-afford a prolonged period of political uncertainty, and much less a radical government, especially without the backstop of a troika financial support program. For not only does Greece have substantial official debt amortization payments to make in 2015 — it is also vulnerable to a run on its bank deposits. This would especially appear to be the case in light of the recent Cypriot experience, where Cyprus’s official international lenders insisted on a large write-down of bank deposits in return for their financial support to the country. Without a troika program in place, Greek banks would not be in the position to access the European Central Bank’s rediscount window in the event of a bank run that would almost certainly lead to the further collapse of the Greek economy.
European optimists argue that, unlike in 2010, any spillovers now from a Greek crisis to the rest of the Eurozone would be limited. However, in so doing they overlook Europe’s very poor economic and political fundamentals, which make the Eurozone all too susceptible to renewed contagion from the Greek crisis intensifying. After all, Europe is on the cusp of yet another economic recession and of a prolonged period of Japanese-style price deflation. Meanwhile, its economic periphery remains highly indebted and throughout Europe support for its political elite is crumbling at a time that parties on the extreme-left and the extreme-right of the political spectrum appear to be on the march.

Most Americans Want Independent Prosecutors to Handle Killer Cop Cases

Overwhelming numbers also support police wearing cameras
Most Americans Want Independent Prosecutors to Handle Killer Cop Cases
by Kurt Nimmo | Infowars.com | December 30, 2014

Despite the social and political division over the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases, recent polls show most Americans want to hold police accountable when they kill unarmed citizens.
When it comes to the behavior of cops, according to a Washington Post poll, Americans hold “an almost-unheard-of amount of consensus.”
They want independent prosecutors who are not politically linked to city government and police departments.
“What’s a little more surprising, though, is the consensus on another issue related to the Ferguson and Eric Garner cases: independent prosecutors,” reports the Post. “The poll shows about the same percentage — 87 percent — support having these outsiders handle cases in which unarmed Americans are killed by police.”
Additionally, 86 percent of those polled “support requiring patrol officers in their areas to wear small video cameras while on duty — a finding in line with other polling on this subject.”
The issue of police accountability in the wake of Ferguson and Staten Island is so politically divisive the federal government has stepped in.
Earlier this month, the Obama administration convened a task force on community policing. The administration is proposing “a three-year $263 million investment package that will increase use of body-worn cameras” and adding “more resources for police department reform.”
Public and political consensus, however, may not result in substantial change, as the Post notes.
“As we often caution, though, it’s best not to hold one’s breath.”

AL SHARPTON'S GOT TO GO!!

MSNBC SHOULD FIRE AL SHARPTON  By Coach Dave Daubenmire
December 30, 2014
NewsWithViews.com

This is going to be short, sweet and to the point, but first I need you to understand that I am not claiming to speak for black men, but for Christians of all hues.

Al Sharpton is a fake ‘Reverend’. He displays no fruit of Christianity. He is a racial arsonist.

There is a double-standard in America alright, but unfortunately it plays to the advantage of the black-racist provocateurs. Can anyone explain to me how Al Sharpton can still have his job at MSNBC?
Can you imagine the outcry if any white media figure had lead marches and protests that ended up causing the death of two minority Americans?

Al Sharpton should be fired from MSNBC.

Do you remember when Rick Sanchez was fired from CNN for what he said?

Do you remember what they did to Don Imus when he called some of the women on Maryland's basketball team “ nappy-headed ho’s?

Do you remember what they did to Paula Deen when she allegedly made racist comments?

Do you remember the attempted lynching of Phil Robertson when he quoted the Bible in regards to homosexuality?

Do you remember how they tried to destroy the Benham Brothers and their business merely because of the Biblical positions that they espoused?

All of the above lost their jobs because of something they said. Nothing any of them said got anybody killed.

Al Sharpton has a long history of “affirmative absolution.” He gets away with what he says only because he is black.
Al Sharpton is the national leader of the Black KKK. If Sharpton had a son, he would look like Barack Obama.

Where is David Duke's national “news” program? When did you last see the late Fred Phelps of “God Hates Fags” fame sitting in for Sean Hannity on Fox News?

It is unthinkable. Only racist black ‘Reverends’ get a free pass when inciting lynch mobs against the cops. Al Sharpton is a college drop-out. He is a fake-reverend, and he is a race pimp.
It is time to demand that MSNBC fire the pied-piper of racism, Al Sharpton.

He doesn't represent black America. He represents black thugs. I partner with godly men of color all across this land. I know many godly black Reverends, and Al Sharpton is no Reverend.

Christianity unites. Al Sharpton divides. His fake Christianity is an affront to all followers of Jesus.
Al Sharpton has the President's ear. He sits at the table with the Mayor of New York. They obviously approve of his divide and conquer approach to Christianity. He owes nearly $5 million in back taxes.
Reverend Jonathan Gentry should have a show on MSNBC. So should Reverend James David Manning, Reverend Mychal Massie, Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, or Reverend E. W. Jackson.

Who made Sharpton the “go-to” guy on all things black? He is Obama's Racism Czar.
Al Sharpton has spent the past four months stirring up racial division in America
. Neither the case of Michael Brown nor the case of Eric Garner had anything to do with race.

“Hands up, don't shoot” is a lie. Sharpton knows that. Holder knows it. Obama knows it. Yet they all support the race baiting of fake “Reverend” Sharpton.

Al Sharpton is an evil man. He has no business fanning the flames of racism on ANY national television network.

Sharpton has made a great living off of holding folks accountable for what they say. He is in hiding right now waiting for this storm to pass, hoping “affirmative absolution” is still in play for what he has ignited.

For years they have blamed the “rhetoric” of pro-lifers for the death of abortionists. Sharpton wants to say that rhetoric doesn't matter. Yeah, right.

Let's do to Sharpton what he has done to others. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. As his partner in racism, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, so famously said, Sharpton's “chickens have come home to roost.”

(Isn't it amazing how so many of the black race pimps hide behind the term ‘Reverend’.)

I am a Christian, and Al Sharpton doesn't speak for me any more than he speaks for blacks.
Enough of the double standard.
We are working on a plan. I am tying my shoes right now getting ready to head to New York.

It is not his race that offends me...it is his 'religion'. Will you join me and my friends in bringing pressure on MSNBC?

Fake-Reverend Al Sharpton's race-colored Christianity can no longer be tolerated.
HEY! HEY! HO! HO! AL SHARPTON'S GOT TO GO!!

We are serious. Watch this video.

NYPD-Style Assassination Attempted on Durham Police Officer

NYPD-Style Assassination Attempted on Durham Police Officer

Since Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were assassinated in their patrol car on December 20 there have been more than 50 incidents of reported threats against NYPD officers. But the targeting of police is happening all across the country.
On Sunday, officers patrolling in Los Angeles and Pasco County, Florida were shot at in unprovoked attacks, and on Thursday, Durham, North Carolina police officer J.T. West successfully thwarted an assassination attempt eerily similar to the NYPD attack earlier this month.
A department spokesperson said Officer J.T. West was sitting in his marked patrol car working on a report when he saw two suspicious men coming up from behind his car near an abandoned apartment building.

West got out of his car to speak to the men, but before he could say a word, one of them pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired six shots at the officer. One of the bullets struck the police vehicle.

West returned fire, getting off two shots as he ran for cover across the street. West dove behind a staircase in the abandoned apartment complex, injuring his wrist as he fell. […]
The man who fired the gun was described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall with a skinny build. He was wearing an oversized black hoodie. The second suspect was described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored jacket.
Had Officer West not noticed the men approaching the rear of his vehicle, things would have ended very differently. And despite the fact that the incident mirrored the NYPD assassination, my colleague Bob Owens over at BearingArms.com notesthat the attack has been largely ignored by the mainstream media:
The obvious copycat nature of the attack and its near success was simply ignored by WRAL and wasonly noted in passing by ABC 11. The RaleighNews & Observer—infamous for their support of eugenics and backing the Ku Klux Klanin the only successful coup against an elected government in American historylikewise failed to mentionthe obvious similarities to the assassination of the two NYPD officers.
The national news media has not mentioned the attempted assassination at all, though it continues to fawn over the “social justice” revolutionaries using the mythologies of “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” and “I Can’t Breathe” as they disrupt lawful commerce, attack police officers, riot, and loot private businesses.
It’s open season on police, and, sadly, there’s no end in sight.

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the holiday spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare... You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Holiday party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you’re never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

Remember this motto to live by: “ life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate and wine in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO HOO what a ride!"

Have a great holiday season!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

‘Middle Eastern Market’ Food Stamp Scam Cost Taxpayers $1,278,700
by Wynton Hall   27 Dec 2014

Last week, Emad Khalil Karaein, Jawad Khalil-Ahmad Karaein, and Khader Khalil Karaein pleaded guilty for their roles in a food stamp fraud scheme at the Middle Eastern Market in Grand Rapids, Michigan that cost taxpayers at least $1,278,700.
The scam, which ran for nine years, involved the commonly used cash-for-food stamp scheme that trades reduced cash amounts for taxpayer-funded welfare benefits.
In exchange for the three brothers’ pleas, charges against two other brothers–Salah Eddin-Khalil Karaein and Dawood Khalil Karaein–will be dropped.
According to WZZM, the Middle Eastern Market bagged nearly $736,000 in Michigan Bridge Card (EBT) program and some $544,000 from the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) welfare program.
Meanwhile, in Florida, authorities busted up another multi-million food stamp fraud that resulted in a guilty plea in federal court last Tuesday by Basem Abualteen, who helped steal over $2.1 million in taxpayer-funded food stamp funds, reports the Lakeland Ledger. Shoenekia Abu-Aish pleaded guilty to involvement in the same scam earlier in December.
Food stamp fraud remains a common and costly problem. The explosion of the food stamp program has ushered in what the Wall Street Journal dubbed a “food stamp crime wave.”
Since January, 2009, the number of individuals on food stamps in America has skyrocketed from 31.9 million to 46,459,998.

Muslims Busted in Mass Welfare Fraud Against US Taxpayers To The Tune of Over $1 Million Dollars!
Dec, 2014 by Cassy Fiano
Evidently, Muslims aren’t content to just slaughter innocent Americans whenever possible. Now they apparently want to rob taxpayers blind, too — Muslims in several states have been caught orchestrating a welfare fraud scam that has cost taxpayers millions.  Of course the ‘government’ enabled this kind of fraud to happen, and the Muslims were just manipulative enough to play the game. Why exactly charges were dropped against the other two brothers is unclear — after all, it seems like the state is just giving them the green light to keep right on stealing.
