Please read the comment below. This appears to
be too common, in too many locales to be another isolated incident, or
opinion! The abuses need to end and those empowered to stop these
individuals should be doing their jobs, not allowing ongoing victimization of
innocent and unsuspecting homeowners and home buyers.

After having served on
our Board for our HOA, I can assure you that they not only DON'T follow the
governing documents, but they don't follow the laws that regulate them either.
In addition to that, the attorney for the HOA has advised them that they need
not worry about it because the courts ALWAYS side with the HOA Boards rather
than the homeowners within an Association regardless of how many laws are
ignored or broken. This appears to be the consensus that was borne out of the
CAI involvement which is very heavy within the HOA circles. If it isn't
illegal, it most certainly should be."
