After Donald Trump announced his plan to halt all Muslim immigration earlier in the week, the White House moved into full outrage mode. On Tuesday, they said with dour-faced seriousness that the proposal should disqualify Trump from the White House.
Then, moments later, they let loose a barrage of petty personal insults about Trump’s “fake hair” and “outrageous” appearance that made a mockery of the somber tone they were trying to affect.
According to The Washington Times, the comments came at a press conference by ironically named White House spokesman Josh Earnest, where he said that Trump’s proposal should automatically disqualify both him and anyone who supports it from seeking the GOP nomination.
“What he said is disqualifying, and any Republican who’s too fearful of the Republican base to admit it has no business serving as president either,” Earnest said. And that’s when he decided to utterly obliterate that somber tone with the same sort of name-calling that Earnest claimed Trump was engaging in.
“The Trump campaign, for months now, has had a dustbin-of-history-like quality to it, from the vacuous sloganeering to the outright lies to even the fake hair, the whole carnival barker routine,” Earnest said.
When a reporter called him on the fact that he was engaging in the same sort of behavior he was demonizing Trump for, Earnest stood his ground and defended the schoolyard taunts.
“I was describing why it would be easy for people to dismiss the Trump campaign as not particularly serious — because he’s got a rather outrageous appearance,” Mr. Earnest said. “That’s a hallmark of his campaign and his identity. Nice try."
It’s worth pointing out, too, that Earnest’s remarks were prepared in advance, meaning the “fake hair” comment was approved at the highest levels of power — possibly even the president.
No matter what you feel about *Trump’s immigration plan, the seriousness of the White House’s claim — that it should be “disqualifying” for Trump’s campaign — was belied by the pettiness of the White House’s remarks.
This is just another instance of a bullying 'president' using his position to belittle others and then saying they deserve it.
Instead of acknowledging that, though, the White House has chosen to cloak it in the armor of indignation.
Absolutely shameful.

Yeah, you've got to fall back on the old school yard slogan - sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Donald Trumps hair looks just fine, even the color looks good. Now here's where the problem has been all along... Obama AKA Sotero is not even illegible to be the POTUS and the Pentagon generals are going to just "allow" war and destruction to come on our soil here in America...Why?...Because they don't care about their own families and children and grandchildren OR the future of humanity?????
Sounds like some people over at the White House needs to grow up.
They sound like silly children.
Trump is a lot more popular than Obama. I like his hair. And, he is a successful business man.
Could some of the current Generals be Generals of the Corporation who pretends to be the government of America instead of Generals of the American people who believe in our Constitutional America which has been hijacked by thieves from across the pond and other places?
