Los Angeles Deputies Caught on Video Shooting Man Walking Away, Then Crawling Away

Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies were caught on video shooting a man as he walked away from them, firing upon him repeatedly as he tried to crawl away on his stomach.

Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies confirmed the killing but have released no other  information at this time.

The video was recorded by a witness who is remaining anonymous but sent the video to KTLA, which describes the scene as follows:

At least a dozen gunshots can then be heard being fired, and the man falls to the ground.
Once on the ground, the camera panned to focus solely on the man, who crawls next to the gas station and away from the gunfire.

After a pause in audible gunfire, at least a dozen additional shots are heard.

The camera then panned back to two deputies, who both had arms raised and were pointing guns in the man’s direction.

At least one of the deputies then fired additional shots before the video ends.

Shocked witnesses at first assumed the deputies were using bean bags. But then they realized they had been using real bullets.

We will be updating this as we receive more information.

UPDATE: One witness tells ABC 7 that the man police killed had been shooting a gun in the air and was not complying with orders.

UPDATE II: NBC Los Angeles reports that crowds gathered around the scene chanting “no justice, no peace,” tearing down a police tape cops set up to keep them away. The man killed was a 28-year-old father of three. The Los Angeles Times reports the man’s name was Nicholas Robertson.

They were responding to a shots fired 911 call, multiple people said he had fired his gun and was acting erratically. You can him walking down the street with the gun in his left hand in another video. The police saw his gun, the police ordered him to stop and drop the weapon, he continued on, he was shot.
Amazing what you learn if you look at more than 34 seconds of evidence.

You missed what happened before the video when he was shooting his gun in the air. You do not have to turn and take aim at a cop before a cop can shoot you. The cops are not the only people in danger when an armed person who is unlawfully using a gun is on the loose.
You argue that the police are wrong to shoot him NOW because they didn't shoot him BEFORE? Wow!
He was armed, he was a danger to the police and others, he had already shot the gun, he refused to stop, he refused to drop the gun.
Some people seem to think a gun battle with the police should be a fair fight, you are incorrect.
