Lunacy of FEMA Hurricane Insurance Subsidy

Lunacy of FEMA Hurricane Insurance Subsidy

By James Hall

One of the most ludicrous fantasies of the self-indulgent is that a property owner has an entitlement of subsidized government flood insurance.
The inherent risk of building along the ocean shoreline is self-evident. The benefits that enhance the pleasure of proximity to the seaside seem unending. However, when the forces of nature thrust her fury and a wall of water inundates pristine dwellings, the first question asked after the storm usually involves rebuilding.
The cost of repairs and renovated construction, once paid by private insurance, now normally requires a federal guaranty.
James Bovard made some salient points just after Katrina in Uncle Sam’s Flood Machine.
“The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s crown jewel.
Unfortunately, the heavily subsidized insurance bribes people to scorn common sense, damages the environment, and creates staggering liabilities for taxpayers. Federal flood insurance illustrates how selling at a loss can be politically profitable.
The primary effect of federal flood insurance is that far more property is now damaged by floods than would have occurred if the insurance had not made it possible to build in flood-prone areas.
The Long Island Regional Planning Board in 1989 complained that federal flood insurance “in effect encourages a cycle of repeated flood losses and policy claims.” And, especially in places like Long Island, the program underwrites the vacation homes of the wealthy.”
Now that Sandy made her presence known, many of those aforementioned Long Island properties were washed into the sea.
Would anyone believe that federal guarantees have any premium correlation to the actual costs of such disasters? The current disconnect between subsidized costs for NFIP flood insurance and the enormous expense for reconstruction is beyond imagination.
The libertarian and media celeb, John Stossel relates his personal experience in Taxpayers Get Soaked by Government’s Flood Insurance. One factor in building his beachfront property on Long Island was that government insurance provided the guarantee necessary to qualify for a mortgage.
“Should a big storm wipe out half the coast, you’ll cover our losses — up to a quarter-million dollars. Thanks — we appreciate it — but what a dumb policy.
The insurance premiums were a bargain. The most I ever paid was a few hundred dollars.
Federal actuaries say if the insurance were realistically priced, it would cost thousands of dollars. Why should the government guarantee water’s-edge insurance? Why should the government be in this business at all?”
Mr. Stossel has the knack for boiling down the complex into the common dominator. If private underwriting is not willing to cover the obligation of the risk, at a NFIP discount premium, maybe the insurance is too cheap.
The Century Housing organization in Should Taxpayers Subsidize Property Owners in Flood Areas?, states: “Private insurance companies provide almost no flood insurance, because the insurance industry recognizes the huge risks.”
Their conclusion is,
“The bottom line is that the taxpayers subsidize the development of property located in known floodplains. And that raises the question of whether that subsidy is good public policy, or whether the whole approach to flood emergencies should be changed.
Would we all be better off if we ended the NFIP and instead provided short-term subsidies to floodplain property owners to move out of the danger zone, avoiding the inevitable loss of property and lives that occur so predictably along the nation’s waterways?
At the very least, it seems that FEMA should end subsidizing the NFIP premiums for any insured property owners.
And it may be a good idea for the states (which control land use) to prohibit construction within floodplains, or require any owner of property located in a floodplain to carry insurance to reimburse public agencies for emergency services when floods do occur.”
The political attraction to continue cheap government waterfront insurance has property owners flocking to buy up and build their dream house.
This is probably the costliest boondoggle that benefits the upper middle class and the affluent. Human nature, being what it is, even the purest, as John Stossel, knows a good deal when it is dangled in his face by a seductive government.
So what is the alternative, only high-rise condominiums with expensive maintenance fees owned by offshore tax dodgers? Let us hope that the cherished tradition of individual property ownership is the standard that is protected by all government jurisdictions.
However, perpetuating the incentive to willingly build in harm’s way, where personal financial risk is substituted by government guarantees that reward imprudent decisions, needs to change.
The rush to federalize disaster aid and transfer funds back into state coffers is symbolic of the obscene distortion within national taxation.
As long as individual states must balance their yearly budgets and the federal government persists with unfunded deficits, individual states will gladly take the bribes and handouts.
Disasters are part of life. There is no warranted absolution from calamites.
Insurance that is fairly priced, and rigidly administrated is a system that has provided relief from great suffering and pain. Nevertheless, the business of insurance should be a private contract among willing participants.
If the cost to insure is too high, just maybe the economics of ownership is too steep to continue to support the lifestyle.
The collectivist proponents of big government continue to spread their confusion and prevarications. The Hill reports in Democratic leaders say FEMA has enough cash for Sandy recovery.
“FEMA’s coffers are nearly full because the storm struck at the beginning of the fiscal year, which started Oct. 1.
On top of more than $1 billion left over in the Disaster Relief Fund from last year, Congress has appropriated $7.1 billion for fiscal 2013.
President Obama’s decision to make disaster declarations in New York and New Jersey — in addition to emergency declarations in eight other states and the District of Columbia — allows local officials to access those funds immediately.”
Disaster relief can be compassionate and supportive. Even so, the practice of subsidized federal flood insurance only encourages the extent and degree of future disasters.
Lacking common sense is a national condition. Building on high ground is the prudent course for action.

DEA Promises to Continue Drug War and Ignore Voter Decisions in Colorado and Washington

DEA Promises to Continue Drug War and Ignore Voter Decisions in Colorado and Washington

By JG Vibes

Voters in Colorado and Washington have decided to legalize cannabis for recreational use, however the feds have promised to ignore states rights and lock people up anyway, regardless of local laws.
Bob Tuskin reported on the story for The Intel Hub this morning, saying that:
“Both Colorado and Washington have passed referendums legalizing cannabis use. The plant is still made illegal according to federal law.
Colorado’s Proposition 64 makes it legal for anyone over the age of 21 to possess marijuana and for businesses to sell it.  It will be interesting to see how the feds treat this.
Barry Soetoro claimed he would not go after legal medical facilities and respect state laws. Fail!”
The local politicians, even those who opposed the initiative, actually seem to be respecting the will of the voters, but they have also expressed that the feds will not be so understanding.
Last night Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, an opponent of Amendment 64 told reporters that:
“The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will. This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through.
That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug so don’t break out the Cheetos or gold fish too quickly.”
Unfortunately, he is right, the feds do intend to carry on the drug war within the borders of states that have legalized cannabis.
This will without a doubt lead to a period of legal conflict within these states and more innocent nonviolent drug users will continue to be put behind bars.
However, the good news to this is that a crackdown of this nature will make the drug war look even worse than it already does and prove that the federal government is going against the wishes of the popular vote.
Up until the past few years, the establishment has actually had public opinion on their side in regards to the drug war, but as more people are learning the truth about prohibition that advantage has begun to slip away.
For the feds to blatantly ignore the wishes of the voters will further undermine the drug war and undermine the electoral process itself.
With that being said, smoking cannabis openly and proudly in these states will be an act of civil disobedience that many are currently planning.
You can’t arrest everyone and, when a law becomes truly unenforceable, is when it will actually be rendered obsolete.
It’s important to remember that just because the law has been written down onto paper though, doesn’t mean that the battle is over.

Will Obama Fulfill His 2007 Promise to Label GMOs?

Will Obama Fulfill His 2007 Promise to Label GMOs?

By Anthony Gucciardi
theintelhub.com
Nov 7, 2012
With the passing of election day 2012, massive awareness was spread throughout the country thanks to the California GMO labeling bill known as Proposition 37.
While the bill did not pass through California legislation due to the many dirty tactics employed by the ‘No on 37′ campaign such as falsely using FDA backing and even sending out fake voting flyers, it has truly invigorated the discussion on proper GMO labeling.
Labeling that was promised back in 2007 by the newly re-elected Barack Obama.
Back in 2007 during his campaign tour, Obama addressed the serious issue of GMOs with a promise that he would immediately ‘let folks know’ whether or not they are consuming GMOs through proper labeling.
You can hear the statement yourself in the video below:
Now more than 5 years later, Obama has not addressed the issue of GMO labeling — at least not in the way you might think.
Instead, Obama appointed the former Vice President of Monsanto Michael Taylor as a senior adviser to the FDA back in 2009.
Taylor is currently a Deputy Commissioner for Foods for the FDA. These are the facts, and this is not a partisan issue.
I am not a republican, nor am I a democrat. I am, however, against Monsanto and tumor-linked genetically modified organisms.
I am also for the direct labeling of genetically modified foods, an initiative that was promised 5 years ago by Obama before he took office for the first time.
Meanwhile, concerned citizens around the country has been demanding GMO labeling through numerous outlets.
Polls indicate that anywhere from 93-95% of United States citizens are in favor of labeling GMOs. After all, if the general public actually knew that most of what they are consuming contains GMOs they simply would no longer eat them.
Ultimately, corporations using GMOs would go bankrupt if they did not phase them out.
This is exactly what corporations do not want, which is why they have contributed over $50 million in fighting Prop 37′s GMO labeling initiative.
It is essential that we continue to bring the issue of GMO labeling to the forefront of the political spectrum and demand that legislators honor the fundamental right to know what you are putting into your body.
It is also essential that we highlight the promises made by Obama and others to initiate GMO labeling. This is not a partisan issue — it is a human one.

Elizabeth Warren Election Results: Consumer Advocate Unseats Scott Brown

Elizabeth Warren Election Results: Consumer Advocate Unseats Scott Brown

Elizabeth Warren defeated Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) Tuesday in the race for U.S. Senate, NBC News and CBS News projected.
The Harvard Law professor and consumer advocate had narrowly been favored in recent days, as polls showed her with a slight lead over the incumbent senator.
Warren was the intellectual godmother of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and was its first head. She was denied a permanent appointment due to objections from congressional Republicans and from within the Treasury Department.
From the beginning, the Massachusetts Senate race attracted national attention. Brown, who opposed Obamacare, won election to the Senate in a 2010 special election at the height of the health care reform debate following the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) Warren’s impassioned advocacy for economic fairness caused liberals to rally around their candidacy. Democrats were eager to reclaim the seat that Kennedy held for over four decades.
As a result, Warren became one of the top Senate fund-raisers of all time, surpassing Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senate run. Brown was also successful in fundraising, having a significant war chest from his 2010 run.
The race was neck-and-neck for most of the race, but Warren pulled away narrowly after her speech at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. In September.
Warren stressed that the race was about control of the Senate, and tied Brown to the national GOP. Brown distanced himself from other Senate candidates like Todd Akin of Missouri and Richard Mourdock of Indiana. In the end, Warren had an easier lift as a Democrat in a deep blue state, and Brown’s moderate image only carried him so far.

Until that day of Your soon return, May the Lord bless you and keep you, May the Lord make His Face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you , And give you peace, Now and Forever. In Jesus Name… AMEN!

LEO] We Appreciate The Time You Spent With Us Tonight On The GET Team Conference ~ Our Members Are The Best ~ Come To Us RV ~ Good Night

THIS WAS THE BEGINNING PRAYER:

[tina] Dear Heavenly Father, We come before Your Presence requesting guidance, affirmation, protection and peace of mind. We request guidance for You are the Great Almighty and Righteous One who controls and directs the affairs of the Universe.

The tiniest atom to the most powerful kingdom on this earth is under Your constant and immediate watch care. If You care so much for a sparrow that falls on the ground, how much more You must care for this great country of ours  that stands for Freedom, Liberty and Equality.

So today we Your  seek guidance. We seek guidance in the affairs of our personal lives. We ask that You guide us safely through whatever the future might hold for us. We know that as we abide in Your care and seek Your counsel each and every day, we would learn more of who You are and what Your plan is for us in our own personal lives.

We seek guidance in the affairs of this great nation as we embark on yet another journey. Today, We ask for Your Affirmation. Nothing matters in this earth except that we are constantly affirmed by Your acceptance of us and we are surrounded by Your Presence each and every day.

We bask in the knowledge that we are the sheep of Your pastures and that even if we stray, Your affirming Presence will seek us and restore us back to the state that we once were when we were in the fold of Your care.

We ask that You forgive all our sins. May nothing separate us from You. May nothing block the free affirming grace that flows from Your Presence to us who are week and frail .

So today may we realize that though the future seems uncertain and we are surrounded by more questions than answers, may we hear Your affirming Voice tell us , “My Grace is sufficient to You.”

Today we seek Protection. We seek protection from the confusion that surrounds us like the rolling winter’s fog. We pray for those who  have been affected by the hurricane in our land.

We pray that You would protect them and provide for them. That You would comfort them and sustain them. Grant them Your protection from harms way and restore their broken lives and shattered dreams and provide for them as only You can.

Comfort the grieving families and keep them under the shelter of Your All consuming Grace.

We also pray for protection for those who  are  far away in different lands serving the interests of this great nation.

We pray for our embassies, our troops, our government workers, our volunteers  and those in strange lands, that You would build a wall of fire and a wall of stone around them as they carry out their mission with truth and integrity.

Today we pray for peace of mind. As we examine this investment and the twists and the turns and the rumors that we hear each day, we ask that You grant us a steady mind and an unwavering trust in You.

May we realize that You will cause this investment to blossom in  Your time and that all we need to do is to rely on You. Grant us Peace of Mind until then.

[tina] Today we come before You . We request You to lead  us and we rest in the comforting assurance that even when we cannot see the way, Your unseen Presence hovers over us.

Even when we seem to be faced with insurmountable odds, You are leading us each and every day. Even when the road is beset with trials and we are tossed in a sea of despair, You are intimately aware of our journey.

Even when gloom and darkness cover us, our plans are clear to You as bright as the noon day sun. Tonite, we come before You and lay all our plans before You with boldness of heart and calm assurance.

Walk with us in this journey as we await Your promise to those who have trusted in You. In Jesus name we pray… AMEN!

Obama's keeper: Valerie Jarrett:

Old Valerie Jarrett

Posted on by Drake

Obama’s handler?

How long has Valerie Jarrett been looked at?

Think about her calling the shots ever since it all started.

~ Drake

Obama's keeper: Valerie Jarrett:

You may not recognise her face, or her name. Yet Valerie Jarrett is arguably the most powerful person in the White House apart from the President. Robert Draper meets her
Bonded by trust: Obama and Jarrett outside the White House, April 2009
On 25 January 2008, the day before the South Carolina Democratic primary, Barack Obama endured a gruelling succession of campaign events across the state. When his staff informed him the evening would conclude with a brief show-up at the Pink Ice Ball, a gala for the African-American sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, Obama flatly refused to attend. "We're not gonna change anybody's mind," he said.
Rick Wade, a senior adviser, Stacey Brayboy, the state campaign manager, and Anton Gunn, the state political director, took turns to beseech their boss. The gala, they told Obama, would be attended by more than 2,000 college-educated African-American women, a constituent group that was originally sceptical of the candidate's "blackness". They would be in and out in five minutes. Obama's irritation grew. "Man, it's late, I'm tired," he snapped. The three knew what their only option was at this point. "If you want him to do something," Gunn would later tell me, "there are two people he's not going to say no to: Valerie Jarrett and Michelle Obama."
At the day's penultimate event, a rally in Columbia, Gunn, Brayboy and Wade pleaded their case to Jarrett, the Obamas' long-time friend and consigliere. Jarrett informed Michelle of the situation and when the candidate stepped offstage from the rally, Obama's wife told him he had one last stop to make before they called it a night.
"I told Anton I'm not going to any Pink Ice Ball!" Obama barked. Then Jarrett glided over to the fuming candidate. Her voice was very quiet and very direct.
"Barack," she insisted, "you want to win, don't you?"
Scowling, Obama affirmed that he did.
"Well then. You need to go to Pink Ice."
"And he shuts up," Gunn recalls, "and gets on the bus."
Among the narrative threads that are weaved, almost uninterrupted, throughout the history of the American presidency, is the inevitable presence in the White House of The One Who Gets the Boss. Karen Hughes got George W Bush. Bruce Lindsey got Bill Clinton. And so on, back to Thomas Jefferson's lifelong reliance on the counsel of James Madison.
Valerie Jarrett is a Washington outsider with a Washingtonian's mind-deadening job title: senior adviser and assistant to the President for intergovernmental affairs and public engagement. Roughly translated, she is Obama's intermediary to the outside world. But the 52-year-old Jarrett is also the President's closest friend in the White House, and it is not lost on her colleagues that when senior staff meetings in the Oval Office break up, she often stays behind with the boss.
Over a four-month period of reporting, I struggled to understand Jarrett's ineffable raison d'être in the Obama White House. Perhaps proving that nothing succeeds like failure, my plaintive queries were unexpectedly rewarded one afternoon by a telephone call from the President himself.
"Well, Valerie is one of my oldest friends," Obama began. "Over time, I think our relationship evolved to the point where she's like a sibling to me ... I trust her completely." As his surrogate, Jarrett is trusted "to speak for me, particularly when we're dealing with delicate issues".
After our conversation, I began to reflect on Jarrett's portfolio. Broadly speaking, it consists of "outreach" – endless meetings, conferences and speeches. She functions as Obama's de facto conduit to the business community. Among the President's economic team, only Jarrett, the former president of a Chicago real estate development firm, has actually run a multimillion-dollar business. Her street cred with the private sector is an obvious asset to a president confronting a major recession.
Jarrett also serves as the White House's unofficial champion of minority issues. This may seem superfluous, given that a black man inhabits the Oval Office – until it's noted that Obama's inner circle consists largely of white males, same as it ever was.
Jarrett's shared experience with Obama is about race – and on a deeper level, about the coexistence, in the post-King African-American psyche, of conscience and ambition, activism and accommodation. Their identity rests on that fulcrum; it is, as Barack Obama would say, who they are.
Authenticity has a lot to do with place, of course. The Obamas and Valerie Jarrett experienced first-hand the hard-won progress of a Chicago beset with racial and class divisions during the administrations of Harold Washington, who was the city's first black mayor, and Richard M Daley. "There was a certain sense we all shared that people can change, communities can change, cities can change," Jarrett said when I asked her to talk about what Chicago means to her and the Obamas.
Still, she told me, what Chicago provided Obama with most of all was family – beginning, of course, with Michelle Robinson. "My guess is that Michelle's childhood was his idea of perfection," Jarrett said. "It allowed him to anchor himself with her and with her family. To me, that's the most special thing about Chicago for him." It didn't take long for Jarrett to become part of Obama's patchwork family. As Daley's deputy chief of staff, Jarrett was already one of the city's power brokers in 1991 when her friend and co-worker, Susan Sher, suggested that she take a look at the resumé of a promising young African-American lawyer named Michelle Robinson. The applicant made an impression on Jarrett and vice versa.
In less than a year, Michelle's fiancé began to confide in Valerie Jarrett. He showed her pages from a book he was writing. That book, Dreams From My Father, explored Barack Obama's inner struggle. "He talked about how hard it was – things he hadn't dealt with yet," she recalled. "'It isn't just a matter of writing a simple story,' I told him. 'You've got to deal with the fact that your father left you at a very young age. And you lived in a variety of different settings at an age where it could've been discombobulating. Your grandparents are white and you look black. Your friends in Hawaii all are different-looking and that's great – but you come to the mainland, and things are much more black and white, literally.'"
Jarrett was born of African-American parents in Shiraz, Iran, where her physician father was running a hospital as part of an American aid programme. Obama's fabled "exoticism" was therefore comprehensible to her, the President told me. "She and I both are constantly looking for links and bridges between cultures and peoples," he said.
Obama, as his memoir would reveal, sought connection to the heroes of the civil rights movement. Jarrett's struggle had been of a different sort: how to measure up to the role models that filled her life. Her father, Dr James Bowman, was an eminent pathologist. Equally influential was her mother, Barbara, a childhood-development expert.
The fast track laid out for Valerie Bowman – a Massachusetts boarding school, then Stanford, then a law degree at Michigan, then marriage and work at a corporate law firm – was one she pursued with neither resistance nor zeal, "kind of like an automaton", she told me.
Eventually she quit both her marriage and her job, and in 1987, as the mother of a two- year-old daughter, she went to work for Mayor Washington's corporation counsel, Chicago's chief legal officer handling civil claims.
Over the next 15 years, her upward trajectory would outpace even Obama's. Jarrett's unhappy years as a real estate lawyer now paid off in a city law department responsible for maintaining Chicago's business base. Washington died of a heart attack in 1987, but her work ethic and supple intelligence distinguished Jarrett in the eyes of Richard M Daley, who took office two years later. The new mayor promoted her to deputy chief of staff – and later to the post of planning commissioner, thereby baptising Jarrett in the racially-charged torrent of urban affairs.
From 1991 until 1995, she presided over a rancorous but largely-successful makeover of the city's landscape. Meanwhile, she was raising her daughter and developing a social life that revolved around an intimate community of like-minded black urban professionals who, like Jarrett, sought advancement not only for themselves but for the local African-American community. Chief among them were the Obamas. Jarrett brought Michelle into the Daley administration, attended their wedding, threw a book-signing party for the Dreams From My Father author and generally assumed a big-sisterly presence in the young couple's lives such that "I don't think either of them made major decisions without talking to her", according to Susan Sher.
As Obama told me: "We've seen each other through ups and downs." For Jarrett, one such low point came in 1995, when she began to lose the mayor's support. Wounded, Jarrett bolted for the property development firm Habitat – only to have Daley ask her to keep a foot in the public sector by offering her the post of chairwoman at the Chicago Transit Board. She accepted. Soon other boards beckoned, including the University of Chicago Medical Center and the Chicago Stock Exchange. Habitat made her an executive vice president. By 2002, it was as if the city had awakened one morning to find that Valerie Jarrett had taken over.
Over the ensuing five years, the role Jarrett played in Obama's political ascent was important but also confined. For his senatorial campaign, she made key introductions to the donor community. She was among the handful of close advisers who met at the close of 2006 to carry on a rolling discussion of the risks entailed in a presidential run. And during the first six months of Obama's presidential campaign, Jarrett remained in constant contact with him but otherwise stayed in Chicago to run Habitat – she had become chief executive in January – and the Chicago Stock Exchange.
That arrangement began to change on the evening of July 17 2007, when Obama convened a meeting at Jarrett's Chicago town house. The presidential campaign was not gaining traction in the national polls. "Lots of things were bubbling up, and no one was really handling issues that would arise, either in Chicago (at headquarters) or on the road," says Penny Pritzker, who was one of the meeting's participants and the finance chairwoman of the campaign. "You needed another smart, capable, really close adviser involved who could play a bridging role. Valerie was the perfect solution."
Not everyone agrees with Pritzker. She never actually moved into headquarters, "and that was good and that was bad", says the White House senior adviser, Pete Rouse, who at that time was Senator Obama's chief of staff. Jarrett's ambiguous role particularly annoyed the campaign manager, David Plouffe. Jarrett and Plouffe tangled over issues ranging from where the campaign should be spending its money to where the candidate should be spending his time.
Today Plouffe offers unqualified praise for Jarrett's work as a campaign surrogate but says, "She wasn't terribly involved in strategic issues." This is probably true – but only because the campaign did not consider the matter of race to be a "strategic issue". On this subject, Jarrett consistently and forcibly weighed in.
It was Jarrett, several aides say, who helped convince otherwise sceptical senior staff that Michelle Obama should go to South Carolina in November 2007 and give a speech addressing fears in the African-American community that harm might come to the black candidate. It was Jarrett who strongly encouraged Barack Obama to give his race speech. Numerous campaign officials credit Jarrett, along with the communications director Anita Dunn and Stephanie Cutter, Michelle Obama's chief of staff, for helping to rehabilitate Mrs Obama's "angry black woman" image.
A few days after the election, the president-elect told his new chief of staff Rahm Emanuel: "I want her inside the White House."
When the subject is Valerie Jarrett, it's fair to say that Emanuel's words fall short of effusive. Their opposing qualities – deliberateness and sensitivity in Jarrett; speed and brutal practicality in Emanuel – may reside harmonically in Barack Obama. But what the two aides represent isn't simply a function of velocity or decibel level. While both of them obviously want the President to succeed, Emanuel's criteria for "success" are straightforward. Jarrett, according to Cecilia Munoz, Jarrett's director of intergovernmental affairs, is "very focused on why he ran in the first place" – a psychological calculation that only Jarrett would presume to undertake and which therefore is bound to drive others nuts.
Where's my picture?" Valerie Jarrett exclaimed, addressing no one in particular. She stood up from the conference-room table in her office and walked over to the bookshelf. "They brought these to me today."
The image was odd. It featured five figures seated on the couches and chairs of the Oval Office: the President; Jarrett; the Reverend Al Sharpton; the former Republican House speaker, Newt Gingrich; and the New York mayor, Michael Bloomberg. Standing over me, Jarrett said: "I love that photo."
That unlikely meeting had been arranged by Jarrett. Sharpton, Gingrich and Bloomberg were part of a group convening in Washington to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the landmark Brown v Board of Education school desegregation decision by promulgating education as a civil right.
"I liked the idea of getting this odd quartet together to come around an issue," Jarrett told me. "Because it would show the American people that this is what the President is about, getting unlikely combinations together."
I asked: "If you hadn't suggested that this meeting take place, do you think anyone else would have suggested it?"
Jarrett looked across the table at her friend, the White House communications director, Anita Dunn, who had dropped in on the interview. Dunn stopped taking notes and flashed Jarrett a look of abiding doubt.
"Probably not," Jarrett then murmured.
"Probably not?" exclaimed Dunn, who had been virtually silent until now. "Absolutely not!"
Dunn's outburst was delivered with a depth of appreciation that I had not picked up on elsewhere in the West Wing. Though Dunn is white, her words reminded me of the interviews I conducted with several African-Americans who had served at high levels in the Obama campaign. To them, Valerie Jarrett was something of a heroine.
Without Jarrett, these officials said they believed, their opinions and the often-legitimate concerns voiced by black leaders like Sharpton would have been thoroughly disregarded by the white-dominated senior staff. "There's a cultural nuance that they just didn't get," one such African-American staff member told me. "And the landscape of our campaign is littered with hundreds of stories where she intervened and voices got heard and decisions got made that might've gone a different way."
As to just how much difference Valerie Jarrett's various interventions had made, the staff member admitted he couldn't say. It wasn't for him to judge, anyway. That was between Obama and Jarrett.

This bio reads like she was the Obamas' "handler".
Remember Valerie Jarrett's father in law was a Communist. She was groomed, boarding school, Liberal college, etc.
She is also close with Michelle Obama.
She is also seen here praising Van Jones and saying the White House has been following him for years.
They knew exactly who and what Jones is.

Pastor Hale Saw Obama Re-elected A Year Ago in a Prophetic Dream

Pastor Hale Saw Obama Re-elected A Year Ago in a Prophetic Dream
The Bad and Good News for America

Urgent Warnings to America
Pastor T. D. Hale - 12/28/11

I had a dream last night: In my dream, I saw myself going across America, as if I was floating but with no fear. The land looked like it was bombed, totally destroyed. I saw people standing out around their homes, weeping, holding onto each other; there were a few who laid dead. I heard someone say, "This should never have happened; this should never have happened."

National destruction had hit America: no food, no water, babies crying, grownups, men all crying, holding onto their families, begging God for mercy. As I moved along the way, I saw people running, looking for loved ones missing, totally out of their minds.

I quickly came over a large city; it looked like it was Columbus, Ohio. As I came close, there it was -- the riots we have all heard about. Store windows busted, grabbing what they could get but I could tell they were not too concerned about TVs iPads, etc.; they were grabbing food, water, chips, things to survive on. There were riots and fighting. I even saw one man shot to death.

As I left that place, going at the speed of light I was standing on the back side of the White House. I looked up and there was President Barack Obama on the balcony, holding a shotgun. I heard a loud scream, real loud. I turned my head to see where the scream came from. Flying high in the air was an eagle -- majestic, flying around Washington. I saw Barack point that shotgun toward that eagle and then shoot it dead and it fell to the ground. I looked up at him and he just had a smile on his face, a smirk. These were the words I heard: "I've done it and I won't have to deal with this in my administration." It was dead silent. At that moment, I heard a voice that said, "Tell the people this is My will; this is My hand, both upon the generation of the righteous and upon the cursed. The righteous will find their way and know what to do; the cursed will wonder around with no compass. The cup is full!"

From that point on, I knew that we were coming to a showdown; it was going to be between us and them -- good versus evil. I saw people gathering into some homes that were not destroyed. I saw people having prayer meetings, just praying in the Spirit.

And then I heard in the dream: "To My servants and handmaids, a special anointing will reside on you in these last days. Hold not back thy voice but speak your hearts, for out of them are the issues of life. Pick up the mantle of prayer, cover yourself with it and find you a secret place to cover My servants, who stand for truth in prayer. I see their hearts and the desires to understand and know more. Their eyes have been anointed with a special anointing to see. Others are blinded to My Word. All things will be revealed in their due course. A supernatural wave of my Spirit will come over this generation soon; the FINAL voices are in the land to speak one last time. Think it not strange the happenings around you; they must and will come to pass but I have placed in your hands the food to sustain you in the months ahead. I have spoken and shown all that matter. Tell my servants, saith the Lord, there is coming harsh days ahead!"

As I stood there hearing the voice of God, I saw a table, very old as if it was a table that had many documents signed in times past of importance. I saw a voting ballot lying there. As I looked, I saw two names on that ballot: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. It was check-marked beside Obama’s name. I looked at the bottom of the ballot and these words were written: “For this is the will of the Lord.” Then I woke up.
