More
than two months after an Islamist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi
that left four Americans dead, including US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, we
still don’t know what really happened that night — and, thanks to a
secretive White House and an incurious Washington press corps, we probably
never will. Not officially, that is.
But
there’s no real mystery about it. From the evidence that’s emerged in dribs and
drabs since the Sept. 11 calamity, it’s clear that Ansar al-Sharia, a Libyan
al Qaeda-affiliated group coordinating with its allies elsewhere in the Muslim
world, used the cover of riots in Cairo to launch a preplanned assault on our
lightly guarded Benghazi consulate and a CIA safe house that may have been
doubling as a secret prison.
That
much was clear to our intelligence community almost immediately — and,
in any case, should have been the working hypothesis from the jump.
The
Arab Spring, falsely painted by a soft-headed US media as a purely
pro-democracy movement, has in fact prompted seizure of power by Islamists.
Benghazi, an armed hotbed of radicalism, was a fine target of opportunity for a
strike at the Great Satan.
What’s
also heart-rendingly clear is that our diplomats and security personnel
understood the danger they were in, repeatedly requested more resources — and
were left to die, as US military and intelligence assets monitored
their deaths in real time, lacking the orders to protect them.
Benghazi was a first-class military and moral disgrace,
and one that the Democrats paid absolutely no price for in the recent election.
But the questions won’t go away. Who gave the
order to stand down as the consulate was under fire? Who came up with the
cockamamie story — so eagerly peddled by UN Ambassador Susan Rice and other
administration spokespersons right after the event — that the sacking and
looting were in response to an obscure video that lampooned the origins of
Islam and had been posted on You Tube for months?
And
why did President Obama cling to such a risible explanation, and then
(with a timely assist from Candy Crowley in the second presidential debate)
turn on a dime and claim he knew the assault was terrorism all along?
To
turn tragedy into French bedroom farce, the truth was further obscured by CIA
Director David Petraeus’ unaccountable public silence — until his affair
with his biographer, Paula Broadwell (which the administration surely had known
about for months and was holding over his head for just such an occasion)
caused him to resign in disgrace a few days after the election.
Finally,
to turn farce into insult, hapless Director of National Intelligence James
Clapper scuttled forth from his let’s-pretend lair to claim that his office
— nominally, the highest rung of the intelligence-community ladder — had
edited the CIA’s early talking points memo to remove all references to al Qaeda
and terrorism.
That
claim was met with peals of incredulous laughter within the IC, where
Clapper (like Petraeus, a retired general) is regarded as a buffoon and his
office (created as part of the ham-fisted Bush response to 9/11) as a useless,
money-sucking bureaucratic appendage that does nothing to increase national
security — but is easily manipulated by a cynical president with a domestic axe
to grind.
And
here’s where the fog of war collides with the blinding clarity of politics.
Obama had already determined to run as the Slayer of Osama bin Laden, and a
horde of howling Arabs shouting, “Obama, Obama, there are still a billion
Osamas” as they pulled down the American flag in Cairo and attacked us
elsewhere was an inconvenient truth that had to be obscured by any means
necessary.
With
the election safely behind him, the president and his allies are now trying to
rehabilitate Ambassador Rice’s shredded reputation, cheerily tossing around the
usual charges of “racism” and “sexism” as they smear conservative opposition to
her potential nomination as secretary of state in the second Obama term. They’d
rather not reopen the Benghazi can of worms.
But reopen it we must — either by open congressional
hearings or during Rice’s confirmation hearings — if Chris Stevens and the
others are ever to receive justice.

Joe Klein weighed in over the weekend on the September 11 attack on the U.S.
Consulate in Benghazi, seemingly dismissing the entire situation in an effort
to downplay the controversial aftermath.
“This
business about the…Libya consulate has been like the October mirage — it
really isn’t an issue,” he remarked on “Meet the Press.”
Klein
was likely trying to exclusively reference the Republican claims that the
administration has been misleading the country, but is coming under heavy
fire for being so dismissive about an event that resulted in the gruesome
deaths of four Americans.
Klein
also said that President Obama and Mitt Romney have “essentially the same
positions on foreign policy,” so Monday’s debate will be “fascinating.”
He
added:
And
so, once again…Obama is going to have a very strong position because his
foreign policy has been largely successful in terms of substance, but in
terms of style, he still has to climb — re-climb the mountain and make a
convincing case to the American people that they will be more comfortable with
him in their living rooms the next four years.
President
Obama cites the killing of Osama bin Laden as one of the cornerstones of his
foreign policy achievements and– until recently– credited the so-called “Arab
Spring” for bringing freedom and democracy to the Middle East. After the
attack in Libya, though officials have confirmed that the White House knew within 24 hours what really happened, the administration
spent more than a week saying a YouTube video caused a spontaneous protest that
killed four Americans.

Well, I’ve
been on a desert island since the election–and I return to find the tawdry
sadness of David Petraeus‘ resignation after a lifetime
of service to our country. And the even more tawdry attempts by various
Republicans to create a scandal over the tragic deaths of Ambassador Chris
Stevens and three others in the Benghazi terror attack.
Let me
just repeat this flat out: there is no scandal here–except for the reprehensible
behavior of politicians like John McCain and
Lindsey Graham who have conducted a scurrilous campaign against Ambassador
Susan Rice. (Even their usually knee-jerk amigo Senator Joe Lieberman has
refused to join them in this jihad). I tried to catch up on all the hoo-hah
since returning from the beach and it seems to me that Rice’s talking points
were accurate, if vague, in the way that talking points usually are.
There were
two attacks in Benghazi that night. The first was a spontaneous response to the
anti-Islamic film that had caused similar protests in Cairo and elsewhere. That
is important: there would have been no
terrorist attack if the film hadn’t provided the opportunity for
mayhem. Most of the protesters were members of local salafist militias, who
quickly realized that the security at the consulate was nearly nonexistent.
They organized a second attack with heavier weapons, including mortars. And so
we have four essential facts that do not contradict one another:
1. the
attack was a spontaneous reaction to the film
2. it was
followed by an organized attack.
3. both
attacks were populated and organized by terrorist militias, with loose ties to
Al-Qaeda.
4.
security at the consulate was inadequate
So there
are two questions: Did the Obama Administration make a political decision to
coverup the (rather tenuous) Al-Qaeda involvement? And why was the security so
lax?
Answer to
question 1: Ambassador Rice’s talking points were scrubbed by Director of
National Intelligence James Clapper, according to CBS.
The specific names of the militias involved were removed for security reasons,
apparently, so that our intelligence assets on the ground could continue to
monitor the miscreants. This is a minor, silly point in any case: the President
called the Benghazi attack an “act of terror” the day after it took place–which
proved a rather embarrassing moment for Mitt Romney in the third debate, when
Candy Crowley corrected him on the point (Romney’s information throughout the
campaign was defective, having been sourced by right-wing fantasy reports).
There was no coverup.
Answer to
Question 2: According to a really excellent piece by Bob
Worth in the New York Times magazine last Sunday, the level of security in
Benghazi was determined by…Ambassador Chris Stevens:
In
the rush to assign blame after Stevens’s death, it was largely overlooked that
Stevens, as the top-ranking diplomat in Libya by that point, was the one
responsible for making final decisions about what kind of security was
appropriate there, how to use it and what qualified as safe and unsafe.
Worth
wasn’t blaming Stevens. He was admiring him for trying to practice the sort of
hands-on diplomacy that has become more difficult in the era of terrorism and
amped-security. Indeed, Worth was raising a larger and very important
question–what sort of risks should we ask our diplomats to take? It is a
question that hits very close to home for me since, as some of you may know,
I’m the father of an American diplomat who has served in difficult places,
including a year in Baghdad.
It is also
the sort of question that John McCain might have asked back in the days when he
was an honorable public servant. But he’s now a political caricature, severely
debilitated by anger and envy. His trigger-happy foreign policy beliefs have
always been questionable, but this Benghazi crusade has put in the weird circle
inhabited by nutcases and conspiracy theorists like Michele Bachmann and Allen
West. He should honor the memory of those who lost their lives that terrible
night by putting a cork in his disgraceful behavior immediately.

The assertion that the Christian calendar is based on a false premise is not new – many historians believe that Christ was born sometime between 7BC and 2BC.
But the fact that doubts over one of the keystones of Christian tradition have been raised by the leader of the world's one billion Catholics is striking.
Dennis the Small, who was born in Eastern Europe, is credited with being the "inventor" of the modern calendar and the concept of the Anno Domini era.
He drew up the new system in part to distance it from the calendar in use at the time, which was based on the years since the reign of the Roman emperor Diocletian.
The emperor had persecuted Christians, so there was good reason to expunge him from the new dating system in favour of one inspired by the birth of Christ.
The monk's calendar became widely accepted in Europe after it was adopted by the Venerable Bede, the historian-monk, to date the events that he recounted in his Ecclesiastical History of the English People, which he completed in AD 731.
But exactly how Dennis calculated the year of Christ's birth is not clear and the Pope's claim that he made a mistake is a view shared by many scholars.
The Bible does not specify a date for the birth of Christ. The monk instead appears to have based his calculations on vague references to Jesus's age at the start of his ministry and the fact that he was baptised in the reign of the emperor Tiberius.
Christ's birth date is not the only controversy raised by the Pope in his new book – he also said that contrary to the traditional Nativity scene, there were no oxen, donkeys or other animals at Jesus's birth.
He also weighs in on the debate over Christ's birthplace, rejecting arguments by some scholars that he was born in Nazareth rather than Bethlehem.
John Barton, Professor of the Interpretation of the Holy Scripture at Oriel College, Oxford University, said most academics agreed with the Pope that the Christian calendar was wrong and that Jesus was born several years earlier than commonly thought, probably between 6BC and 4BC.
"There is no reference to when he was born in the Bible - all we know is that he was born in the reign of Herod the Great, who died before 1AD," he told The Daily Telegraph. "It's been surmised for a very long time that Jesus was born before 1AD - no one knows for sure."
The idea that Christ was born on Dec 25 also has no basis in historical fact. "We don't even know which season he was born in. The whole idea of celebrating his birth during the darkest part of the year is probably linked to pagan traditions and the winter solstice."

News many times, the primary purpose of mammography is not to
"save" women from cancer, but to recruit women into false
positives that scare them into expensive, toxic treatments like
chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
The "dirty little secret" of the cancer industry is that the very same oncologists who scare women into falsely believing they have breast cancer are also the ones pocketing huge profits from selling those women chemotherapy drugs. The conflicts of interest and abandonment of ethics across the cancer industry is breathtaking.
Now, a new scientific study has confirmed exactly what I've been warning readers about for years: most women "diagnosed" with breast cancer via mammography never had a cancer problem to begin with!

93% of "early
detection" has no benefit to the patient
That's the conclusion of a groundbreaking new
study published in the New
England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
"We found that the introduction of screening has been associated with about 1.5 million additional women receiving a diagnosis of early stage breast cancer," writes study co-author Dr. Gilbert Welch.
Now, at first, you might think that's a good thing. You might think, "Well, early detection saves lives, just like we've been told by Komen and the cancer non-profits."
But you'd be wrong. As Dr. Welch's team discovered, there was virtually no reduction in late-stage breast cancer from all this "early" diagnosis, meaning that most women who were told they had breast cancer after a mammogram were being lied to.
As he explains:
We found that there were only around 0.1 million fewer women with a diagnosis of late-stage breast cancer. This discrepancy means there was a lot of overdiagnosis: more than a million women who were told they had early stage cancer -- most of whom underwent surgery, chemotherapy or radiation -- for a "cancer" that was never going to make them sick. Although it's impossible to know which women these are, that's some pretty serious harm.

Under the threat of this fear, most women cave in and agree to start "treatment" -- often on the very same day they are falsely diagnosed. This so-called "treatment" consists of a highly toxic injection of deadly chemicals that the oncologist makes a small fortune selling to the very same patients he falsely diagnosed. Yep, that's right: Cancer clinics and oncology treatment centers make huge profits on the chemotherapy drugs they sell to patients -- the very same patients they scared into treatment through a false positive mammogram.
Despite the near-total failure of mammography from a scientific point of view, the propaganda push for mammography is downright deafening. As Dr. Welch explains in his New York Times article:
...No other medical test has been as aggressively promoted as mammograms -- efforts that have gone beyond persuasion to guilt and even coercion ("I can't be your doctor if you don't get one"). And proponents have used the most misleading screening statistic there is: survival rates. A recent Komen foundation campaign typifies the approach: In short, tell everyone they have cancer, and survival will [statistically] skyrocket.
Komen for the Cure, of course, has been caught blatantly lying about the supposed "benefits" of mammography. Their statistical deception fools most women, sadly, convincing them to undergo toxic chemotherapy for a "breast cancer" they never really had.

Once women begin the chemotherapy for a cancer
they don't even have, they begin to experience what the quack oncologist calls
"symptoms of cancer." Their hair falls out. They lose their appetite.
Their muscles atrophy. They become weak, mentally confused and chronically
fatigued. The cancer doctor then tells the woman, "You must be strong to
pull through this while the medicine is working."
Pure quackery! You could do much better invoking voodoo or even just wishing to be cured. Because everything about the cancer experience in modern medicine -- the diagnosis, the "treatment," the medical authority -- is utterly and maliciously fabricated for the purpose of generating cancer industry profits.

Got that? Many cancer diagnoses from mammography are utterly false. But they are a great scare tactic for recruiting women into what can only be called a "cult of cancer" in which they are manipulated into poisoning themselves with chemicals. They are later called "cancer survivors" if the poison doesn't manage to kill them.

Modern day people sneer and snort at the Jim
Jones mass suicide cult of 1978, thinking, "How could those cult members
be so stupid to poison themselves to death?"
Look around, folks, because the cancer industry has taken the Jim Jones formula and multiplied it by a factor of a million. The "Cult of Komen" is the modern-day Jim Jones "suicide cult." It's a cult where people "believe" in the promise of salvation through chemical indoctrination, but what's actually delivered to them is rotting death, pain, suffering and humiliation. (Many cancer surgeons operating today literally slice off women's breasts following a false positive cancer diagnosis, maiming her for life.)
One of the earmarks of this cult is the worship of self-mutilation. It's not just the women who are manipulated into having their breasts sliced off by surgeons; it's also the women who are manipulated into being injected with deadly poisons that destroy their kidneys, livers and brains. The No. 1 side effect of chemotherapy, by the way, is cancer.
Like any cult, the cancer industry cult pushes its delusions with emotionally-charged propaganda and powerful symbols (pink ribbons). Millions of women get innocently swept up into the "run for the cure," apparently clueless to the fact that most of that "cure" money goes to pay for more mammograms that result in more false diagnoses which ensnare yet more women into the same victimization racket.
Thus, the very women who participate in raising money for these pink ribbon cult worship-fests are actually paying for the mammogram machines that will recruit more women into the same cult via a quack diagnosis followed by a "campaign of fear and terror" carried out by oncologists against women. What the cancer industry is doing today is, by any measure, a crime against women. It's also a form of cultural mutilation of women, much like we've seen in Aztec, Mayan and various African cultures throughout history.
Is the Cult of Komen a criminal operation? Almost certainly. Is it scientific? Not a chance. There is nothing "scientific" about the modern-day cancer industry other than the scientific manipulation of women's fears and emotions. What Komen and the cancer industry lacks in ethics, science or facts, it more than makes up for in tactics of linguistic influence, arm-twisting and flat-out lying to the public about the over-hyped benefits of mammography.
The cancer industry isn't in the business of curing cancer, after all. But it is in the business of catapulting the propaganda of the delusional cancer cult. As Dr. Welch explains:

The big question in all this, of course, is: For how long will western civilization continue to live under the spell of the Cult of Komen? How many million women have yet to be sacrificed to the false quackery of mammography and the scam of modern oncology?
And more importantly, why do families allows their own mothers, daughters, aunts and grandmothers to be poisoned and maimed right in front of their own eyes, while they all sit back and submit to the false authority of profit-seeking doctors who practice nothing more than pure quackery?
Look around, folks, because the cancer industry has taken the Jim Jones formula and multiplied it by a factor of a million. The "Cult of Komen" is the modern-day Jim Jones "suicide cult." It's a cult where people "believe" in the promise of salvation through chemical indoctrination, but what's actually delivered to them is rotting death, pain, suffering and humiliation. (Many cancer surgeons operating today literally slice off women's breasts following a false positive cancer diagnosis, maiming her for life.)
One of the earmarks of this cult is the worship of self-mutilation. It's not just the women who are manipulated into having their breasts sliced off by surgeons; it's also the women who are manipulated into being injected with deadly poisons that destroy their kidneys, livers and brains. The No. 1 side effect of chemotherapy, by the way, is cancer.
Like any cult, the cancer industry cult pushes its delusions with emotionally-charged propaganda and powerful symbols (pink ribbons). Millions of women get innocently swept up into the "run for the cure," apparently clueless to the fact that most of that "cure" money goes to pay for more mammograms that result in more false diagnoses which ensnare yet more women into the same victimization racket.
Thus, the very women who participate in raising money for these pink ribbon cult worship-fests are actually paying for the mammogram machines that will recruit more women into the same cult via a quack diagnosis followed by a "campaign of fear and terror" carried out by oncologists against women. What the cancer industry is doing today is, by any measure, a crime against women. It's also a form of cultural mutilation of women, much like we've seen in Aztec, Mayan and various African cultures throughout history.
Is the Cult of Komen a criminal operation? Almost certainly. Is it scientific? Not a chance. There is nothing "scientific" about the modern-day cancer industry other than the scientific manipulation of women's fears and emotions. What Komen and the cancer industry lacks in ethics, science or facts, it more than makes up for in tactics of linguistic influence, arm-twisting and flat-out lying to the public about the over-hyped benefits of mammography.

Despite substantial increases in the number of cases of
early-stage breast cancer detected, screening mammography has only marginally
reduced the rate at which women present with advanced cancer. Although it is
not certain which women have been affected, the imbalance suggests that there
is substantial overdiagnosis, accounting for nearly a third of all newly
diagnosed breast cancers, and that screening is having, at best, only a
small effect on the rate of death from breast cancer.

Without you, the mass awakening could

The
intensity of this now moment is intensifying even further as the actual
moment for your awakening moves ever closer. The excitement and enthusiasm
mount, and restraint is becoming increasingly difficult because this
magnificent event, which has been planned for so long, is almost upon us.
Yet, to most of you on Earth at this time, it in many ways appears to be
business as usual as reports of scandals, conflicts – on many levels of
society and in many areas of the world – and disasters of various kinds continue
to occupy the mainstream media.
The
wonderful changes that are occurring in many areas are barely noticed, let
alone reported on – but that is most definitely set to change! The changes
are of a spiritual nature, but they are very visible because they are
demonstrated by the changes in attitude, thought, dialogue, and behavior that
have already occurred. They have occurred because of the spiritual changes
that so many of you are undergoing, as your spiritual evolution advances
rapidly due to your intent for this to happen, and because of the limitless
assistance that you are receiving from those in the spiritual realms. You
have asked for help, you are receiving an abundance of it, and the results
are indeed phenomenal.
You,
who are reading or listening to this message, know that enormous changes for
the benefit of all humanity, and for the Earth that supports your human
existence, are happening at an increasing rate as the assistance necessary to
bring them into effect strengthens and intensifies. The more you focus on
bringing your own spiritual essence into action on behalf of the human
awakening process the more powerful and effective your efforts to bring it
about become. This is your task, this is why you are on Earth at this time. You all chose to be involved in
this mass awakening, and without you it could not happen. Do
not underestimate the importance of your presence or the significance of the
task that you have so willingly and lovingly undertaken.
Without
you it could not happen, which is why you are so honored in the spiritual
realms – even though some of you occasionally even doubt the existence of a
loving God! You chose to be on Earth to help, and being on Earth means that
you have accepted an enormous memory loss to enable you to experience the
same kind of confusion as the sleepers you have come to help. Like them you
feel lost and confused, but with a deep underlying sense that you have a
divine purpose, which of course you have. That sense of purpose is breaking
through most positively into your conscious awareness at precisely the most
appropriate moment so that it can assist you to assist others. And with it
comes a more conscious knowing that you are most definitely on the right path
and doing what you came to do.
The
full understanding of what you are on Earth to do is still not clear to you
because the illusion is a very foggy place! Rest assured that you are
responding magnificently to the demands that are being made on you, and that
progress towards the awakening is moving rapidly and most effectively
forwards. Keep on keeping on! You are doing a most fantastic job, and a
successful conclusion to your demanding endeavors on the Earth plane is
inevitable.
Remind
yourselves regularly that what you are presently experiencing is illusory,
and one sign that is highly indicative of that is the fact that every single
one of you perceives life differently. No two of you have exactly the same
views, beliefs, or opinions, and that fact, when expanded to the whole
planetary population, explains why you have such an impossible task ahead of
you in trying to establish peace on Earth. The ego is the stumbling-block,
and what a block it is! It was the first step in building the sense of
separation, of aloneness that the illusion provides. That naturally led to
intense fear which in turn led to mistrust.

Being
loving – which is an act of will – in every situation is the way to disarm
the ego. However, the ego resists . . . sometimes very forcefully indeed.
What is happening now on Earth is an enormous inflowing of Love which is
affecting every human, and breaking through into their conscious awareness,
and insisting that they question and reassess all their opinions and beliefs.
And for most of you that is extremely unsettling. The ego has been your home,
your castle, the place to which you retreated when threatened, and from which
you judged and blamed others for your fear, pain, and misery. The Love
entering your hearts is showing you very clearly that this is not so, that
your problems, anxieties, and fears are all self-imposed.
You
see it quite clearly demonstrated when you observe small children who have
become excessively overtired and then throw a temper tantrum. Nothing you can
offer to appease or pacify them has the least effect. They have retired into
their egoic fortress from which they attempt to repel all invaders. When they
have slept and recovered from their overwhelming tiredness they are once
again the adorable beings that you recognize and delight in.

But,
as adults, you still retain that inner egoic fortress – although the majority
of you no longer throw temper tantrums – to which you retreat when a
situation overwhelms you. The divine Love field enveloping the planet is
penetrating all those egoic fortresses, and for those who remain deeply
asleep it is very unsettling indeed. Nevertheless, Love will embrace and then
dissolve those stalwart fortifications behind which you have hidden
yourselves for so long, and when that happens each of you will be amazed at
the beautiful and enticing prospect that It displays before you.
Love
is your savior, your guiding Light, your ticket home to Reality. So embrace
It — as It offers you “the Peace of God that passeth all understanding.” It
is what you have all been seeking since the moment of apparent separation.
Reach out and joyfully accept your Father’s loving embrace which is offered
to you constantly in every moment of your eternal existence; discover that
there is absolutely nothing more that you desire, and sink into that
wondrously calm and soothing state as all your fears, worries, and anxieties
just dissolve.
