I have to say this is the strangest thing I have ever written. It’s like a piece of cotton candy, it all kind of sticks together but there is nothing at its core…

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) has sent scientists to Los Angeles to try and find out where the current outbreak of tuberculosis started, and to try an isolate those affected by it before the outbreak becomes widespread. They have so far identified some 4650 people who have been exposed.

The outbreak is believed to have started in Skid Row and shelters are urging the homeless to get tested. TB is not limited to the homeless and the hard up however, and with downtown LA attracting visitors to its cheap hotels there are fears that the outbreak will spread.

The Cecil Hotel is one such place where the cheap rates and no reservation needed policy makes it attractive to visitors.  The Cecil though has a few secrets it may not want to tell its guests about.

Serial killer Jack Unterweger lived at the hotel while he went about his business of murdering prostitutes and in 1985 Richard Ramirez, the ‘Nightstalker’ stayed at the hotel while he continued on his killing spree that resulted in 14 deaths.

Even before this the hotel was not new to tragedy. In 1962 Pauline Otten, who was 27, jumped from the window of her room.  She landed on a passerby killing them both.

Two years later in 1964 Goldie Osgood was found raped and strangled at the hotel and Elizabeth Short, ‘The Black Dahlia” patronized both the hotel and the bar next door.

Moving forward to this month, the decomposing body of Elisa Lam was found in a water tank at the Cecil. Guests staying at the hotel had complained about dark colored tainted water coming out of their faucets.

The 2005  movie “Dark Water” centers  around a hotel where a decomposing body is found in the water tank. The name of the main character is Dahlia and her daughters name is Cecilia.

As for the TB cases, where do they fit into all this? Well, the test being used to check for the disease is the Lam Elisa test.

They say fact is often stranger than fiction….

Governor Andrew Cuomo who helped usher in some of the strictest gun control laws in the country wants to make some exceptions to allow the use of banned weapons in movies and TV shows filmed in New York.
He recently stated:
“We spend a lot of money in the state bringing movie production here, post production here.
So obviously we would want to facilitate that…
But people want certainty and there’s no reason not to make a change like that…
Apparently, they have blanks or they have phony magazines or something.”

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Just a month after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the strictest gun control law in the country, state officials plan to make some exemptions.
The law toughened restrictions on military-style rifles and high-capacity semiautomatic handguns, but those restrictions will be changed so those types of weapons can be used on the sets of television shows and movies being shot in New York.
“We spend a lot of money in the state bringing movie production here, post production here. So obviously we would want to facilitate that,” Cuomo said.
Cuomo said the prop firearms used in films would probably not be classified as an assault weapon.
“But people want certainty and there’s no reason not to make a change like that,” the governor added. “Apparently, they have blanks or they have phony magazines or something.”

Cuomo and lawmakers announced on Wednesday that they’ll also fix an error that made its way into the law.

The measure passed so quickly that as it reads now, police officers carrying high-capacity magazines could be in violation of the law, Diamond reported.

The need for a “clean-up” bill means the fight over the law may not be over after all.
An estimated 10,000 opponents of the new restrictions will descend on Albany Thursday as legislators consider additional amendments.

The New York State legislature quickly passed the gun control measure in the wake of the Dec. 14 Newtown, Conn. school massacre. Gunman Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster .223 semiautomatic in his rampage that left 20 first graders and six educators dead.

Media stunner: 'Obama fibbed on sequester'

'Now that federal spending cuts are in place, isn't mayhem supposed to erupt?'

At campaign stop after campaign stop over the past few weeks, Barack Obama has warned parents will have to “scramble” to find child care and the nation’s security would be endangered because of the sequester, which he originally proposed.
He also said waiting lines at airports would be massive because of the mandatory budget cuts that he set up.

On Monday, heading into the first full week after sequester kicked in, Obama’s Homeland Security secretary, Janet Napolitano, had an “I told you so” message.

Lines, she said, were “150 to 200 percent as long as we would normally expect” at airports and she warned, “We’re already seeing the effects at some of the ports of entry, the big airports, for example.”

However, an airport website reported that across the nation, the wait times in security lines were roughly 15 minutes, and officials at both O’Hare in Chicago and Los Angeles said there had been no slowdowns at all.
So what’s up?

Paul Roderick Gregory wrote in Forbes under the headline “White House Admits (Third Time) President Obama Fibbed on Sequester.”
“President Obama cannot juggle all these untruths in the air at once. His blame-the-Republicans narrative is crumbling. He is holding the 30 survivors of the Benghazi attack out of reach of the press, but a stubborn Congress or an enterprising Breitbart reporter may break through the wall. Non-partisan organizations like the Congressional Budget Office and the Government Accountability Office publish their tables and appendices in excel so that skeptics can check claims of $4 billion in debt reduction and that Obamacare does not add to the deficit.”

Even as the deadline for the imposition of the sequester approached, Obama already had been backing off the dire threats he’d been issuing for weeks.

He even said the sequester is “dumb” but it’s “not going to be an apocalypse.”

The $85 billion in automatic spending cuts started kicking in over the weekend when Obama failed to reach an agreement with Congress for budget cuts, prompting Obama to blame the Republicans, even though he originated the idea.

“I am not a dictator,” Obama said Friday. He says he can’t lock leaders in a room to make a deal.
“So ultimately if Mitch McConnell or John Boehner say, ‘I have to catch a plane,’ I can’t have Secret Service block the doorway,” he said.

And even as furlough notices were starting to go out to American government employees today, Secretary of State John Kerry promised Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars.

At the White House, press secretary Jay Carney was busy defending the president’s position on the dispute.

“The imposition of the sequester will have serious consequences for middle-class Americans across the country,” he said. “The sequester will have serious consequences for Defense Department contractors, civilian workers, and for our defense readiness. It will have serious consequences for families whose child will lose a Head Start slot, for workers on the border — border security agents, for air traffic controllers who will have their hours cut.”

He said Obama would continue to use the talking points in his appearances around the country “because it’s bad for the country. It’s unnecessary. It’s a self-inflicted wound on the economy. But we’ll also continue to work on those things that the American people expect us to work on – on creating jobs, growing the economy, making sure that we get comprehensive immigration reform, making sure that we move forward towards getting a comprehensive set of initiatives in place to reduce gun violence, and other things.”

The focal point of the inability to reach an agreement is the fact that Obama obtained hundreds of billions of dollars in tax increases on Jan. 1, and Republicans now want to have spending cuts. Obama is insisting on further tax increases.
Carney said impacts on “regular folks” already are being seen.

There are those who “are trying to make ends meet but are finding out through warn notices or other advisories that they may lose their jobs, or they’re going to lose some of their pay, or they’re going to be furloughed,” Carney said.

Rick Newman wrote in U.S. News, however, that the dire threats of policemen, firefighters and others losing jobs appeared to be less than accurate.

“Where’s the wipeout?” he wrote. “Now that the federal spending cuts known as the sequester are finally in place, isn’t mayhem supposed to erupt? After all, President Barack Obama warned of long airport lines, unpaid janitors, furloughed teachers and hundreds of thousands of other lost jobs if the cuts went into effect.”

He continued, “Obama surely knew he was exaggerating to some extent, which is why administration officials are now backtracking and saying they never felt the sequester would cause searing pain on Day 1, or even Day 10.”
He said the actual impacts remain to be seen.

He said the next crisis, however, isn’t far away.

“The real deadline investors are watching is March 27, when current funding for government operations runs out. If Congress does nothing to authorize further funding, the government will shut down.”

Imagine being held in the arms of a loving father who cares about your every need! This is hard for some because they never experienced this type of love, but I am here to tell you that I am the Father that you never had. I have the love to give you that you have never experienced before; an unconditional love not earned by your conduct or performance. 

Once that you have become a son or daughter of Mine you are in My arms forever! Nothing can ever separate you from My love; neither death or life, or power or principality, nothing! So I call you to My side, and ask you to let down your guard, and allow My love to flow into your heart. Allow yourself to just bask in My love so that I can heal you, and renew you, refresh you, invigorate you, and bring you to life once again! 

For many have had a struggle in warring with the enemy, and many have done this battle in their own strength, not relying on My grace alone. Many have fought the fight beaten down from being abused by wicked taskmasters or family members who never knew of My love, so they were not able to share My love. 

This is the day for My people to rise up and be the people I called them to be. This is the day for My people to come forward, and receive all that I gave My life for them to have. This is the day to be counted as one of the family of God, to be delivered of the orphan mentality, and to receive the experience of being a part of a true and loving family. 

You might experience abuse from others in My family just because they are working through their own issues, but you must love them anyway, just like you want to be accepted, and loved right where you are. Yes, this is the day to be counted as one of My children, to let down the walls and receive My love, to quit punishing yourself for past mistakes, and forgive yourself. 

You must not act like an unloving god who punishes without lovingly correcting and nurturing. Don’t treat yourself in a way that I would never do, for that is idolatry, and it is witchcraft and control. Let go and allow My love to flow through, for this is the hour for restoration, and healing to flow like never before. I am rising up an army, but they first must know My love experientially before they can love others, and they must be strong in My love to pull down the strongholds of the enemy!

The Spirit of the Lord says:

After the fires of a forest die down, left in the path are the embers even as they are being cleared away by the wind, there is an eagerness to start over. The ground is ready for the planting of new seed and new growth. The land has an insatiable appetite to draw forth in order to be alive again. My children have also endured a season of purging by fire, those who would yield, and now the season of the wind has come upon the yielded ones. The wind will aid in the preparation for clearing away the ashes and creating a fresh environment for hunger and thirst for the new growth. My yielded children will come forth with an insatiable desire to do the work of the Kingdom. They know that they have been brought to the Kingdom for such a time as this. They willingly stand as watchmen for their generation, their cry for this generation has come up before Me. The purging has brought them to a higher level of being yielded to My Word and hearkening to My voice. They are now aware and responsive to heaven, and My will of bringing heaven to earth. With that awareness comes power which increases as you continue to walk by faith. This power will not be diminished because of outer situations.

I have spoken to My children, and warned them that outer circumstances and the world's condition would get worse, but that there would be a settled inner peace in all who have put their trust in Me. This is the peace that becomes more defined in the midst of storms, trials, and tribulations. That is why it passes all understanding. Some have entered the place of rest, others will follow. Do not allow yourself to be pulled into the enemy's arena, stay in the cleft, stay under My wings. Do not be conformed to the world and its way of thinking. This is where you must come to the place of fearing nothing, for nothing can harm you under My refuge. Here I will give to you insight on how to walk and live in victory. You are not of this world, neither am I. We do not wage war according to the weapons of this world. I have given you the supernatural to walk above the ways of this world, so that the world will come to you for the wisdom that is beyond their comprehension. Lean not unto your own understanding, here, especially is where you must acknowledge Me. I will give you My wisdom, which can not be understood with the mind of the natural man, only a spiritual minded man. I have been bringing you to this place of maturity, so that you reflect Me to the world. For all her lovers are abandoning her, and now many will look My way. I will even now receive them into My love. Rise up My loves and go forth with the fresh wind of glory, spreading it like the breathe of fresh perfume to all who will desire Me now. Go forth in the power of the ones who have come through the fire!

Teen Suspended For Stopping Gun Violence

We live in a strange world; a world where someone doing something right can be punished; a world where stopping violence leads to unfortunate consequences. Ever since the spate of recent shootings, all gun related incidents are garnering huge attention. A student wearing a Marines tee shirt, with guns on it, was punished; a kindergartener with a toy gun gets severely punished; the most ridiculous and innocuous incidents are overreacted to. Now, we have yet another incident–in this case, someone stopping potential violence–which was greatly overreacted to.
According to Town Hall“A 16-year-old high school student in Fort Meyers, Florida was suspended for 3 days for wrestling a loaded gun away from another teen who was threatening to shoot. The 16-year-old tackled a 15-year-old classmate on the school bus after he allegedly pointed the gun at another student.”
 The apparent reasoning behind the suspension was not only that the teen was “involved” in the incident, but that he refused to cooperate when questioned. According to his mother, he was scared.
Obviously, none of us can be entirely sure of the particulars of what went on, but that being said, I think I can safely say that this is insane.
1. A teen had a gun on a school bus–which should be the highest point of concern here.
2. This other teen–with heroic effort, and of his own initiative–took it upon himself to remove the gun from the hands of the offender.
3. Despite the possibility that this heroic teen could have been killed, he took the risk to potentially save others on the bus.
4. With all of this, he was still suspended.
Just as Heather Ginsburg says in her column on Town Hall, have we reached a tipping point? Have we come to the point where we are so reactionary when it comes to violence and guns, that even those on the right side are being punished for simply coming in contact with those weapons?
F. Scott Fitzgerald said: “Show me a hero and I’ll write you a tragedy.” This teenager was a hero; he acted in a selfless way; a way that could have gotten him killed. He deserves to be commended, not suspended. This is a tragedy.

DHS even released a video on their newly purchased MRAPs.
