Newtown seeks to deny newspapers access to death certificates

By Ralph Lopez.
The Newtown, Connecticut Town Clerk is seeking to deny newspapers from viewing public record death certificates of Sandy Hook victims, according to the Newtown Bee.
The Clerk maintains that access to vital records such as death and marriage certificates should be limited to immediate family members or their representatives, and has undertaken to change present law.
The New York Post, the Connecticut Post, the Associated Press, the Hartford Courant, and other media have put forth requests for official death certificates of Sandy Hook victims, the Newton Bee report says. Newtown Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia says she is working with State Representatives Dan Carter, Mitch Bolinsky, and the leadership of the state association of town clerks to craft state legislation:
"that would provide the press and public with limited directory information from death and marriage records, but would withhold the actual death and marriage certificates."
Death certificates are part of vital public records, which also include birth and marriage certificates. They are public domain documents used, ultimately, to determine official recognition of presence or past presence in civil society. They also serve as a mechanism for upholding the integrity of information in which there is a public interest, as it relates to voting, citizenship, and receiving public benefits. Abuses of voting processes involving voters who, unbeknownst to the public, are actually dead, are legendary.
Death certificates typically contain little information about manner of death beyond categories such as "natural cause," "homicide," "accident," "suicide," or "other." News organizations utilize such records in crime reporting as a standard part of normal, often tedious, fact-checking procedures. Death certificates also contain the sworn statement of the medical examiner.
The Newtown Bee stated:
"Ms Aurelia said she has received requests for death certificates and other proprietary information from the New York Post , the Connecticut Post , the Associated Press and the Hartford Courant among others."
"Some are also requesting all my e-mail correspondence and text messages related to 12/14," she said."
According to the Newtown Bee, Assistant Town Clerk Renee Weimann said "I feel it’s my responsibility to protect these victims. They’ve been through enough.” Last December 14th, 20 children and 8 adults died in a shooting rampage by alleged shooter Adam Lanza.
Ms Aurelia and members of her staff testified in favor of such a bill at a hearing of the state's Public Health Committee last February 20th. The law would also exclude members of the public who are not "immediate family/authorized agency/attorney" from viewing the records, according to the Newtown Bee.
The Bee reported that the media and other sources have been making the requests under existing Freedom of Information Act laws. Media can take local, state, and federal government agencies to court over failure to comply with requests for information.
The move comes as the public awaits the answers to questions such as whether or not alleged shooter Adam Lanza was on any psychiatric medications, especially those known as SSRIs which some psychiatrists maintain have been associated with thousands of incidents of random violence, and have a causal effect. Also lacking is any further elaboration on a Connecticut State's Attorney's statement last December, in a court motion, that there may be other "potential suspects," and that revealing certain evidence at this time might "seriously jeopardize" the investigation. Connecticut State's Attorney Stephen Sedensky also said that revealing certain evidence at this time might:
"identify persons cooperating with the investigation, thus possibly jeopardizing their personal safety and well-being."
Yesterday the Hartford Courant ran a report in which Jim Smith, president of the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information, said a death certificate is a factual document that lacks the details of an autopsy report. The Courant quotes Smith saying:
“There isn’t anything in a death certificate that is going to hurt the deceased...it’s not like an autopsy report. It’s been public for centuries. It’s not going to invade anyone’s privacy.’’
CT State Representatives Bolinsky and Carter, and Newtown Town Clerk Aurelia, all argued, according to the Courant, that identify theft was a concern, since the maiden name of the deceased's mother is on death certificates. However, this is also on birth certificates, which are not a target of the trio. Also, the proposed legislation would seal the death records only of minors under 18. It is unclear why identity thieves would not merely steal the identities of people over that age.

Rod Class makes major discovery in court last week!

It was a very interesting morning in court for Rod

This will now allow Rod to follow a course that may result

Google Allowing Government to Read Your Emails, Chats, Blogs Without Warrant or Probable Cause

Google Allowing Government to Read Your Emails, Chats, Blogs Without Warrant or Probable Cause

With 425 million Gmail subscribers, Google claims to be the largest email provider in the world.  They also provide telephone service through Google Voice, document storage through Google Drive, personal blogs through Blogger and they provide You Tube services.

Did you know that Google saves and archives every form of communication that used any of their services?  That even includes any corporate clients.

If that doesn’t make you nervous, then this will.  Google reports that they had 13,753 requests from local, state and federal government agencies to access and read your communications?  The request involved 31,072 users.  If you’re still not too concerned, then wait, it gets better.

?  It’s actually a combination of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Stored Wire Electronic Communications Act.  Passed by a Republican controlled Senate and Demo;serif"; font-size: 13.5pt; mso-border-alt: none windowtext 0in; padding: 0in;">Did you know that there is a federal law that allows government agencies, local, state and federal, to gain access to Google’s archives without a warrant or establishing probable cause.

Have you ever heard of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) of 1986?  It’s actually a combination of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Stored Wire Electronic Communications Act.  Passed by a Republican controlled Senate and Democratic controlled House, the Act was signed into law by Republican President Ronald Reagan.  Basically, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) of 1986 states that all email that has been opened and stored remotely and not on the hard drive of a computer, may be accessed without warrant.

Now to confuse you as to what they can and can’t get access to:

“If the government wants to read the content of an email accessed through Gmail, hear a voicemail message sent over Google’s telephone service Google Voice, or read other private content, it must still obtain a search warrant under federal law.” “However, information not sent in the body of an email or recorded in a voice message can be obtained by a simple subpoena – which does not require a government agency t>

Now that you are thoroughly confused as to what can be accessed by which legal means, let me share this with you:   of the 13,753 requests from local, state and federal governments in 2012, Google says that most of them were granted, even though a large number did not have search warrants.

Therefore, be warned that if you use any of Google’s services and you don’t want the government knowing what you are saying or doing, then find another means of communication.  However, that other means is probably in the same boat Google is, so best to talk face-to-face or not all if you are concerned about anyone else knowing.

Are You Eating Enough of This Inexpensive Miracle Food?

Are You Eating Enough of This Inexpensive Miracle Food?

  by Barbara Minton
(The Best Years in Life) Imagine a delicious, versatile, high protein food that could almost magically prevent heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and excessive weight gain.  You'd be willing to pay a lot for this food, wouldn't you?  Actually, there is probably already some hiding in your kitchen cabinets.  If not, it's on the shelf at the nearest grocery store.  This food is the mighty bean, an overlooked vegetable that is a research superstar.
A bean is technically a legume, a class of foods that includes lentils.  One-quarter cup of dried legumes is equivalent in high quality protein to an ounce of meat and packs a 15 gram protein punch.  Beans pick up the flavor of other ingredients or seasonings and blend into soups, salads, stews and most other cooked and raw dishes.
Beans are good for what ails us
Studies have documented that eating beans on a regular basis offers protection from many of the dreaded diseases of modern times.  Eating beans helps keep the pounds off too.  Regular bean eaters weigh about 6.6 pounds less than non-bean eaters, according to Real Age.
Men and women who consumed legumes 4 times a week had a 22 percent lower risk for heart disease compared to people consuming legumes only once per week, according to a recent study published in Archives of Internal Medicine.  Men who adhered to a healthy diet that included greater consumption of legumes had a 30 percent lower risk of heart disease than men who followed the typical Western diet.
Scientists at Colorado State University have found that eating beans and potatoes regularly could help prevent breast cancer.  Researchers introduced a carcinogen into the mammary glands of rats that were then fed a daily diet of different varieties of beans or potatoes.  The rat control group did not receive any beans or potatoes.  The researchers collected data on the occurrence of cancerous mammary tumors, tumor mass and multiplicity of tumors.  They found that the more beans or potatoes eaten, the less the frequency for malignant tumors.  Although some bean and potato varieties were more effective at prevention, all beans were able to provide significantly more protection than a no-bean diet.
Another study reviewed data from 90,630 women who participated in the Nurses Health Study II. The researchers found that women who consumed beans or lentils at least twice a week were 24 percent less likely to develop breast cancer than women who consumed them less than once a month. This study was also published in the Archives of Internal Medicine
Beans contain powerful compounds.  Inositol hexaphosphate (IP6) found in good supply in beans has been shown to have a potent affect against cancer.  Inosital pentakisphosphate is another compound recently discovered in legumes.  It was found to inhibit the growth of tumors in mice all by itself.  Flavonols found in beans have also been shown to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
In a study of 35,000 women who ate four or more servings of legumes each week, the risk of developing colorectal cancer was reduced by one-third.  In a related study, people who had previously developed colon cancer were found able to reduce the risk of recurrence up to 45 percent by increasing bean consumption.
The National Cancer Institute found that people who eat more dried legumes such as pinto or navy beans, lentils, and bean soups have significantly less risk of developing colon cancer.  Data from the Poly Prevention Trialshowed that adding a significant amount of dry beans to one's existing diet has a strong protective effect against recurrence of precancerous polyps.  In their study, people who added the most dried beans to their diets had the greatest reduction in risk for recurrence of advanced polyps.
Beans are high in fiber, containing about 4 grams per cup of cooked beans.  Fiber has been shown to reduce blood cholesterol in epidemiological, clinical and animal studies.  Data from human trials has shown that consumption of canned or dried beans reduces both total and LDL cholesterol.  Significant increases in Hfont-family: Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
The antioxidant properties of beans make them a terrific anti-aging food.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture has ranked three varieties of beans in the top four foods for antioxidant benefits.  Red beans like those used to make red beans and rice, kidney beans, and pinto beans beat many other fruits and vegetables in antioxidant content.
The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences concluded that color is the key when choosing beans.  As a general rule, the darker the color, the higher the antioxidant content, with red and black beans leading the pack.
Significant increases in HDL cholesterol and/or reduction in tryglycerides were seen in many of the studies.
Recent attention has focused on high levels of plasma homocysteine as a risk factor for vascular disease.  Beans provide a significant amount of folate, one of the B vitamins found to reduce homocysteine levels.
In addition to helping maintain ideal weight, beans help reduce blood glucose, insulin, and the incidence and consequences of diabetes.
A pound of almost every variety of organic dried bean can be bought for about one dollar.  This makes beans a central player for anyone who values nutrition while watching his or her budget.
Adding beans to the diet is a snap

Do You Stink? 3 Tips For Smelling Better Naturally

Do You Stink?  3 Tips For Smelling Better Naturally

People's fears of snakes, death and public speaking are closely
followed by another very common fear...

B.O. Body Odor.
Or worse yet, "HBO" -- horrible body odor.
So we spend small fortunes on personal care products including body washes, anti-perspirants, feminine sprays, deodorants and perfumes. Because nobody wants to stink and we're willing to do just about ANYthing to avoid having someone shout, "Febreze it!" in our direction.
But the problem is that people are spending so much time (and money) searching out the latest BO disguisers, while completely ignoring the primary cause of the odors...
...how toxic you are on the INSIDE.
BO is the by-product of your body cleansing itself and eliminating toxins. So the more smelly inner toxins you have, the worse your outer aroma is.
And all the nice-smelling sprays, creams, gels and powders in the world won't change that.
Let's take a little crash course in...
Body Odor 101
Your body is masterfully designed with a series of metabolic processes that help keep it clean inside.
They include urination, bowel movements, exhaling carbon dioxide and other toxins through your lungs, expelling mucus and dust through your nose and...
Eliminating toxins through your skin.
Your skin is your largest organ, so you do the math and figure out what part of you plays the most significant role in purging toxins.
Now you may be wondering, "Where do all these toxins come from?"
Although things like environmental chemicals, smoking, pollution and medications all add to your internal garbage pile, far and away the biggest sources of inner junk are eating processed "non-foods" and poor digestion.
Here's the scoop:
Bad food and digestion = BAAAAD odor
Your body is meant to be nourished by real foods--things like vegetables, fruits, meats, whole grains and healthy fats. It has enzymes that break down each kind of food, it assimilates the nutrients from them all, and any excess unusable residue is easily eliminated as your bowel movements.
But when you instead exist largely on processed, packaged junk--aka "non-foods" that have never occurred in Nature--putting it bluntly, your body has no freaking clue what to do with them.
It tries to break them down as best it can and absorb whatever scant "added vitamins and minerals" might be in them, but they mainly just end up as acid wastes and toxins that your body has to try to get rid of.
Voila' -- nasty BO in the making.
Poor digestion is another culprit that makes you smell like you're "smuggling onions."
The typical modern American meal is a smorgasbord made up of every kind of food under the sun and that's about as easy for your system to digest as eating an old tire.
When your digestion can't be accomplished like it should be, not only does that lead to acid waste accumulation and you smelling like Pepe Le Pew, but poorly broken down food molecules that enter your bloodstream can also lead to inflammation and food sensitivities too.
And let's not forget the fact that you're probably also suffering from gas, bloating, constipation and acid reflux on top of stinking.

How to smell REALLY sweet
Listen, if you want to make it so that you're not clearing out the elevator every time you step on, you have to acknowledge that smelling good on the outside comes from clean insides.
Here are three simple steps you can take to make your innards squeaky clean and keep you smelling naturally sweet:
1) Exercise
Yup--yet another reason to get your heart pumping at least 3-4 times a week. Sweating during exercise is a tremendous toxin-releasing process.
And with regular exercise cleaning out those inner toxins and burning up some fat, not only will you smell better, your waistline can shrink too.
2) Drink water
Water helps to flush out wastes and toxins and keep your entire system clean. So drink up.  6-8 glasses a day.
3) Efficient digestion
This is by far the most important thing you can do to end BO for good.
Now don't worry--having efficient digestion is not difficult or boring. You just need to eat real foods in easy to digest combinations and give your body a little help if needed.
A- The food piece of smelling good
The Great Taste No Pain system can show you how to eat to smell better.
The GTNP manuals teach you why specific foods and food combinations cause poor digestion and the resulting BO.
It's all based on simple biology and chemistry, but I explain it in a simple way that will make perfect sense to you.
I also guide you on how to put together meals that digest like a breeze, and give you loads of delicious recipes to enjoy. You'll be shocked at how good you can feel after eating for a change.
And you will be fresher and sweeter-smelling too!
Note: If you have gluten sensitivity, Great Taste No Gluten is for you.
You'll learn the same digestive principles as in Great Taste No Pain, plus get a gluten free survival guide and a collection of scrumptious gluten free recipes.
Both systems are available for FAR less than what a bottle of perfume costs.

B- Enzymes help you smell better
Not only does the modern diet mess up your digestion and make you stink, but it also uses up LOTS of enzymes in the process. Eventually your body's ability to produce adequate digestive enzymes may be diminished and that can mean deficiencies.
Enzymes are essential for your foods to be broken down like they need to be, because when they're not, look out. Even your washing machine will revolt at the smell of your shirts.
Plus, inadequate breakdown of foods leads to poor nutrient absorption, which can cause you to overeat (and pack on pounds) or develop deficiency diseases like osteoporosis.
These were among the concerns we had in mind when creating Digestizol Max.
Over the last 50 years increasing numbers of people are suffering from enzyme deficiencies and all the health challenges they cause. This directly correlates with our increasing dependence on processed foods and fast foods.
And the thing is, once your body's ability to produce enzymes is diminished, that's it!  You can't magically create more.
That's why older people often tend to smell...well, not so good.
Not enough enzymes!
So it's important to give your body a little help if needed with a superior digestive enzyme supplement like Digestizol Max.

You can say goodbye to nasty BO by eliminating its REAL cause.
Make yourself sweeter on the inside and life will be a whole lot sweeter for you on the outside.
To your sweet smelling good health,
Sherry Brescia

PPS: Jen is seeing all kinds of great changes!
Hi Sherry,
About two weeks ago I thought that ill-health and pain was to be my way of life for the remainder of my life. I now know this is not true.
Although always plagued at crucial times and events throughout my life with debilitating raw stomach pains, nausea, vomiting, migraine and bouts of constipation, nothing compared or prepared me for the extremes suffered over the last two years when symptoms dramatically increased.
I am fifty-seven years old and I have always worked professionally and to my full capacity, which demands ambition, energy, tenacity and sound judgment to survive.
I considered my diet to be fairly good and thought that my state of health was due to anxiety, pressure of work and inevitability with increasing age. I approached doctors, and quite quickly I could envisage a route between hospital, sick-bed, ineffectual medicines and an early retirement due to failing health prescribed for my future.
I decided to find another way.
I have often been afraid to eat at work or with friends because of intense and seemingly unpredictable reactions to food. Exhaustion blighted every day, with simple tasks and ability to cope with everyday pressures too much to bear. Every day was a struggle. I felt ill.
Through a process of trial and error I began to try to heal myself and eventually sourced your Great Taste No Pain plan. It arrived and after one day I knew I had the answer in my hands.
I am getting stronger and more adept at combining each day. This way of eating is now my cornerstone for the rest of my life.
Here is what I have experienced so far:
- Pain and vomiting stopped after 1 day
- Sleep became sound
- Aches in my joints have ceased
- Relaxed and focused approach to life
- Breathing less congested
- My shape is changing
- A zest for life is rapidly returning
As toxins are being discarded I have had some uncomfortable, but short periods of distress throughout. Realizing that this is the body healing relieves anxiety and afterwards there is a feeling of rejuvenation having taken place.
Your plan is clear, understandable and workable manuals for contemporary lifestyle and I have no hesitation in my highest recommendation.
Again, thank you so much for your help.
Jen B.
