Iraqi parliament predicted to hold meeting in Erbil: official

A member of the Iraqi Parliament said the legislative body is possibly to hold its meeting in Kurdistan Region’s capital Erbil, due to the crisis in the state.

Ala Talabani told Rudaw that due to the crisis and the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) insurgency in Iraq, the first meeting of the parliament, which can be held wherever except parliament, can be held in Erbil.

The first meeting of the parliament is really serious as the members will not be an official deputy until they have sworn in as deputy.

I agree it’s time many of us looked at the same old things very differently, through a new lens, to sharpen the details and bring the REAL subject into focus so we can then ascertain exactly what it is staring us in the face, what we need to do differently—and then DO that.
LIFE is different now. These are desperate times, and we must see our world for what it IS, rather than what the establishment TELLS us it is. There’s a dramatic and vile difference.
Belief systems and a lifetime of conditioning are powerful constraints to free will and critical thinking. We must get beyond those blinders.
Members of the military are relentlessly indoctrinated into the mores and discipline of the ranks; encouraged NOT to think, or question—simply follow orders. They are military first, individuals second—if at all.
As human beings we must gather knowledge, recognize truth, and act upon our innate knowing of what is right, ethical, and appropriate under these newly-revealed circumstances in our world.
At what point does it become acceptable to take innocent human lives? Civilians… women… children… babies?

If you had just realized you had a lottery ticket that was a winner and was worth millions of dollars and you simply needed to go cash it in and pay off all your bills and begin a new life, would you sit and enjoy the idea of such an opportunity or would you act on cashing in?

Take the same idea and apply it to Iraq. They have been given thumbs up by IMF, WB, WTO, etc. to cash in their countries lottery ticket and pay off all their retribution debts from the war and get out from under the biggest dictatorship (USA gov.) and become independent,

Do you think they are going to not take the opportunity to change their fate? I think so!!!!

Also, if they don't, every dime they have in reserves will get swallowed up by those whom they owe. JMO

In 2009, the cocksure trader had received a $15 million bonus – out-earning even Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein.

When 2010 proved another bumper earner for Salem’s desk, he was confident his bonus would reflect the success and he was shocked when it didn’t.

Salem told the arbitration that he believes his bonus was unfairly docked because of a written warning he had received about his 2007 self-evaluation.

The trader gained some notoriety after the financial crisis because a U.S. Senate panel made the performance review public in 2011. 

In the review, Salem detailed what he described as Goldman’s plan to put a 'short squeeze' on the mortgage market. He also described himself as an expert trader and said he deserved to be promoted to managing director.

'I am as competitive as Michael Jordan,' Salem wrote. 'I don’t just want to win – I want to win every time and I want to steamroll the opposition.'

An his FINRA hearing earlier this year, Salem said the $8.25 million bonus didn’t reflect his contributions.

Goldman Sachs argued he was aware that the firm could pay him whatever it wished as bonuses are discretionary and that the company considered his conduct in determining compensation. 

A spokesperson for Goldman told Bloomberg that Salem's claims are 'utterly ridiculous.'

He left the bank in 2012 after his next bonus was 'just' $3 million and he currently works as a portfolio manager for a hedge fund. 

Salem's claims were recently rejected by a FINRA panel. His attorney has just filed a petition in New York State Supreme Court.

Salem is seeking $16.5 million from the bank ($9.5 million and about 41,000 shares in deferred compensation), the report said.
