A number of well known (and not a few not-so-well known) Christian writers have written of late that the coming “blood moons” are Biblical harbingers of Jesus’s imminent return and will fulfill Joel 2:31. I have what for lack of a better term I’ll call a “minority report” view regarding the approaching astronomical and calendar phenomena labeled “The Blood Moons”: they have nothing to do with the imminent return of Christ. That I hold this view does not mean that I do not believe we live in the last days. The existence of Israel seems to me to be conclusive proof of that opinion.
But I’m not convinced that four lunar eclipses, even if they will occur on two consecutive sets of Jewish festivals, is the fulfillment (or even a fulfillment) of Joel 2:31. I take very seriously the Hebrew context and grammar of Joel 2:31 and the Greek grammar and context of Jesus’ comments about the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy.In failing to consider the grammar, people are missing the point of the passage.
Let’s take a close look at the prophecy of Joel:
The sun will be given over to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and terrifying Day of the Lord.
— Joel 2:31
As you can tell by reading this rendering of Joel’s prophecy cited by the Holy Bible: International Standard Version, there are two events described by one verb. The sun turns dark, and the moon turns red, both at the same time. There are not two actions going on at the same time, one affecting the sun and one affecting the moon. There is only one event going on, and it’s affecting both heavenly bodies at the same time.
The red moon isn’t being caused by sun light being filtered through the earth’s atmosphere to create an oft-observed reddish appearance to the moon. If the moon turns red in the earth’s shadow, by definition of the term eclipse, the sun is shining brightly on the other side of the earth!
Notice also that Joel doesn’t predict four lunar eclipses that will come a year apart. There’s only one event: the darkening of the sun, followed by a red hue coming to moonlight. The red hue is coming from a startling, if not downright terrifying, diminished output of visible light from the sun itself that causes the moon to turn red in appearance. Observers on earth will see a shift toward the red end of the light spectrum of the entire sun, not merely a lunar eclipse.
Whether the sun turning dark is an unexpected shift of our sun’s behavior to be like that of a red giant, or some other phenomenon that’s completely supernatural is anybody’s guess. Personally, I hold the view that the entire universe is electrical in nature, and that stars are an electrical phenomenon, powered by thermoelectric currents contained in interstellar and interplanetary plasma.
I don’t think our sun works by fusion of hydrogen into helium. I think its energy output is electrical, not thermonuclear, in origin. Maybe at the end of days God just turns off the switch?
At any rate, Scripture is completely silent on the cause of the phenomenon. It isn’t silent as to the purpose—it’s to serve as the final harbinger of the end of days, as Jesus pointed out in Matthew 24:29:
“Now immediately after the troubles of those days, ‘The sun will be darkened, the moon will not reflect its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers from the heavens will be disrupted.’”

The reader will notice that in this quote by Jesus from Joel 2:31, he renders the Hebrew phrase “the moon into blood” (which does not have a verb associated with it in the Hebrew text) by adding the Greek verb “will not reflect its light”. The pronoun “its” in the Greek refers to the light coming from the sun, not the moon. Jesus knew the moon reflects sun light. It does not shine with its own light. Jesus is saying that the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy will not be light from the sun being reflected through the earth’s atmosphere. That’s what lunar eclipses contain. Instead, the moon will experience a diminution of light from the sun.
Now let’s look at what happens after the sun and moon are affected. According to Matthew 24:30–31:
Then the sign that is the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all ‘the tribes of the land will mourn’ as they see ‘the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven’ with power and great glory. He’ll send out his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they’ll gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another.”
— Matthew 24:30–31
Do notice, won’t you please, how what Jesus has to say regarding the sun and moon flies in the face of current views about the events surrounding his return. Notice that:
First, the sun and moon being struck appears at the end of the time of trouble, not before it begins.
Second, the stars throughout the universe will fall from their courses. Heavenly “powers” (whatever that may entail, the text doesn’t say) will be disrupted.
Third, after all of these events occur Christ descends from heaven. Our takeaway lesson from observing what Jesus had to say about the darkening of the sun and moon during the end of days should call us all to take our Biblical studies a bit more seriously. Maybe the next time something that has the appearance of being an end of days’ phenomenon pops up on our radar, perhaps we should take a closer look at what the Biblical text is saying.All sorts of troubles may be avoided by doing so. Thank you, Dr. Welty. Your conclusion is what my response has been with regard to the blood moons. While I do not have your expertise in Hebrew or Greek, I knew that the events were of supernatural (God’s Hand!) origin and not something that could plotted on some NASA chart or other. I have found myself arguing against the flurry of opinion that these events are relative to the Joel 2 and Matthew 24 event for several reasons, if not simply that the Rapture has not occurred and we are not coming to the end of the “Tribulation” period. I do believe the Rapture is very close but there remains the 70th week of Daniel yet to fulfill, so 2015 cannot be the Second Coming by anyone’s math.

I am already known and reputed for talking about NESARA and explaining you its very system … but I am known too for dealing with other subjects too and dominating those – whereby dominating would be in some way not the right expression here . You will have noted that there is quite something on the move regarding the banking sector. Many banks are facing more and more problems as they soon will run out of their liquid funds. They will find it more problematic and difficult to raise their funds and to pay back their debts. And in such case, please, scrutinize sharply what will be the logical consequence thereof – it is very simple: where there is no money – there is no possibility to defer any money too.
It is not possible either to defer air – that is not done at all, and many credits are based on air – simply on nothing – since there is no physical money available at all – backing them – and this sort of nothing – this sort of air – we shall let off now just as we use to do it with a balloon …and if there is no more air left in the balloon what does it look like then ? It has shrunken and shriveled to a tiny thing and then….such will be what the banks will look like – insignificantly shriveled, not sizeable in any way and nothing like it was before – so what will be further consequences of it ?
Such bank will go broke …bankrupt … as it has NO more liquid funds to run and manage its entire enterprise and apparatus designed to support all cabals and their finely woven intricasies and plays – via corrupting human people, representatives of military and governmental agencies.
Now what will happen in due course then? One after the other banking institution will not dispose of any liquid funds any longer as we are draining all their inside air off them – we shall withdraw all physical money from them and the entire financial market will be laid dry. And what will be the following consequence thereof? Banks will panick as you must know: Banks are borrowing funds – and this from other banks and the latter ones again from different banks too. Such has this so “wonderful” system been established whereby all banks are borrowing money from each other and such is the ever-being turning caroussel in a cycle going on and on and on …
And what are WE doing now? We are just cutting this cycle into halves – interrupting this vicious cycle and its flow of money thereby.
We are turning off the money tap – which will create some severe problem for all and everybody since if there is no more money with the banks … what will happen then ?
All the banks will be deprived of lending out any more financial funds – credits – to enterprises – to military forces and to the cabals !
You see it is so simple and easy !
This is merely one part of NESARA - one part necessary to make the system collapse ! Do you understand what I mean ? This will be the beginning – first it will be the banks and in due sequence after the banks all enterprises dependent on loans of the banks in order to continue with their business will follow sequence too. And if you all ask for how long will this be going on ? And my reply to your question is : It will fail SOON – because if this systems fails and breaks down it will lead down to some “Domino Effect” as well.
And it is the nature of such “Domino Effect” that it will spread in a fast way – you will be the onlookers of the first row and perceive how the individual banks will collapse one after the other one – and also all enterprises dependent on them and – yes – all employees of those banks will face a severe problem since they will no more get paid their wages. And where there are no more wages – there will be no more employees too. And to what activities will those former emploees resort then ?
You will be amazed about those former employees what they will do. They will step forward and tell of all the dark intrigues in the past. All of those having taken place behind closed and locked doors inside the banks and thus we shall obtain one part of publication of all meetings behind the doors to the effect that all people involved in such systems will be made publique. Put into the open – into the pillory. Now, not that special one known to you – no – but it will turn out quite a fair pillory. They will be presented and audited and eventually held accountable. Still we do not proceed like you have done it until now …we do it in our way – in some illuminated mode and kind!
And there is still another matter to be dealt with – it is that we soon have to show our colors too whereby I mean that Spirit soon has to show its true colors, You want to see results – finally – that is what you truly want to see and that*s our wish too. And if you finally note that such results have arrived eventually in your reality – yes, this will build up your confidence in us that everything will go forward as promised. Since you have something concrete really manifested in your reality upon which precise element we may build on furthermore as everything will go on and forward too. Quicker, faster, speedier and we shall experience the very next phase of NESARA:

If one cuts off the head of a snail – the snail will die. If the money-taps of the banks are cut off – the whole system will collapse and with it everything being dependent on it. We shall dry out this market place – like swamps are being laid dry. This is considered the Money Market – and without this specific market there will be no more people working for the cabals !
I do not want to point out that all of the banks’ employees are working for the cabals. Not at least ! There are many honorable employees in the banks – which have to tolerate all “wheelings and dealings” already for a long time since their salaries depended on it.

Vatic Note:Well, this below combined with the recent article on Obama's
signing an EO authorizing him to confiscate assets from American citizens,

States turned out to be that we were too wealthy as a nation and they could not
extract enough from us to make us substantially poorer as a nation. I
had read in the past that globalizing was going to include the following
elements:
1. Depopulation to half a
billion on the entire planet. (Mostly by soft kill mechanisms like Fluoride in
the water, and chemicals in the food. chemically ladened air using chemtrails
with toxic chemicals, bio-agents to make us sick, and some that attack the
kidneys, lungs, and other vital organs. The NDAA bill. 2. Confiscation of
land, Communism has no private ownership of land. Agenda 21 and out
of control EPA 3. Confiscation of
assets.... gold, silver, guns, ammo, food storage, hard assets like expensive
jewelry, precious and semi-precious stones....domestic animals such as goats,
sheep, cows, horses, etc. EO just recently signed by Obama
authorizing this to occur.
Whether you know it or
not, all of these 3 have either Legislation or EO's signed by the
President, making all of the above legal. Having said that, in
reality the organic Constitution, which has never been overturned or in
anyway legally rescinded, has provisions in it that clearly state that
any law that goes against the Constitution of the US is null and void on its
face. That is clearly stated and there is no ambiguity about it either.
Now, the only way this happens
is if we say nothing. WE all have to confirm I am right about the
Constitution as I stated above, and if I am, then, enmass, we refuse to comply
since its illegal on its face. The first time they shoot someone for not
complying, then the murder laws kick in. What we are discovering is
that half our legislators have no idea what is going on in the back rooms of
congress, but the leadership of Congress knows full well what is going
on. So call them and tell them with an angry voice, so they will know to
pay attention. Anyway, you read this and see what you think.

A major financial news source
just published shocking details about a research report by two employees at the
Federal Reserve Bank. The 36-page report applauds the use of “capital controls”
in global markets.
If you’re unfamiliar with the
term “capital controls,” it’s probably because we tend to avoid them in the
United States in favor of a free market economy.
Capital controls are simply
laws that regulate and restrict what you are allowed to do with your money by
regulating the flow of cash in and out of a national economy. The laws define
such things as where you can invest your cash and how you can allocate your
assets.
If you take a look around the
globe, you’ll see several recent example—almost always from countries
experiencing a currency crisis:
In
Cyprus...some citizens cannot withdraw or write checks for more than €300
per day from their own accounts. These controls were put in place after
the Greek debt crisis of 2012 and are set to continue until year-end.
In
Iceland...capital controls imposed in 2008 have blockaded offshore
investors from selling $7.2 billion in assets.
In
Argentina...citizens must pay an extra tax on vacations abroad.
In
the Ukraine...recent tensions sparked a series of capital controls.
Ukrainians must wait six working days before making any type of foreign
currency purchases. In addition, they cannot exchange more than the
equivalent of $5,800 USD within a given time period.
You might be wondering… how are these draconian laws “a
useful tool for managing financial stability” as the recent Fed paper says?
Well, the Fed research claims
that capital controls would protect the U.S. dollar from the effects of rapid
cash movements...
Of course, the only countries
that are worried about capital controls are those deeply worried about a
currency crisis.
According to Steve Hanke, a
professor of applied economics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, “Capital controls signal that a country is very worried
about preserving its foreign exchange....That means bad things are in the wind.” (VN: They are not
"worried" about preserving foreign exchange, why? Because
Goldman Sachs who owns the federal Reserve, is part of those doing this
intentionally so we will crash, and thus be ready to globalize with a one world
currency that has already been designed and ready for printing and
distribution.
Its Iran who is the
last holdout besides us. That is why they are going after her, not
because of some bogus nuke problem.
For more than 50 years, Americans have never really thought
twice about the value of our currency.
But times are rapidly changing.
And most Americans don’t realize that the greatest weapon in our nation’s
arsenal is not our military might or our education system, but the simple fact
that the U.S. dollar is the world’s “reserve currency.”
As such, our money forms the
basis of the global financial system. And banks around the world hold our
dollars in reserve against their loans. That’s why, for the past few
decades, we have been able to print and borrow trillions of dollars, with no
real negative impact.
We are the only country in the
world that does not have to pay for imports in a foreign currency. We can rack
up enormous debts and then print more money. But this exorbitant privilege
could soon expire, because many of the most powerful countries around the world
(including China and Russia) are looking for a new world reserve currency.
And when the U.S. dollar is no
longer the world’s reserve currency… when we can no longer print money and
borrow absurd sums without consequence– we are in trouble.
