Boeing’s Plasma ‘Force Field’ Aims To Shield Vehicles Against Shock Waves From Blasts – Won’t Stop Bullets Though [Video].................

Boeing has patented a plasma force field envisioned to protect military vehicles against shock waves generated from blasts.
Though the plasma force field is still just a patent, if it’s ever realized, it could cocoon any vehicle and shield from energy emitted by nearby blasts. The company confirmed that it is trying to build defense systems that can match the rapid advancement in weapons that are increasingly more dangerous and are now powerful enough to pierce the hull of vehicles that are armored.
Aerospace and defense giant Boeing was awarded a patent to develop a force field-like system that could protect military vehicles from shockwaves following explosions from missiles or Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). Boeing’s proposed system involves using a combination of lasers, electricity, and microwaves.

These three technologies working in tandem will quickly heat up the air around the vehicle. In certain cases, the engineers plan to only heat the air that is in between the vehicle and the blast, thereby reducing energy requirement. This heated air will transform into a plasma shield that’s denser than the surrounding air and will be able to deflect or absorb the energy from the incoming shock wave.
Boeing cautions, the plasma force-field won’t work to prevent a direct attack or precision-guided missile strike, as is shown in science-fiction movies, neither will it be effective in stopping flying shrapnel and debris.
Sensors and computers mounted on a vehicle or a building could detect the velocity and shape of an incoming threat. The system would also be able to determine the size and force of the resulting explosion and create a barrier of hot air that would absorb just the shock-wave. In simple terms, the plasma force field is meant to divert, reflect, or absorb the energy generated by a blast.

Shock-waves From Blasts Are Quite Dangerous Too
Shock-waves From Blasts Are Quite Dangerous Too
Though it might seem the force field has limited scope, shock waves generated by bombs many-a-times cause equal if not greater damage to structures, rendering them unusable at best, or unstable at worst. Establishments like nuclear missile silos or power plants could be fortified against the incoming energy blast.
Though Boeing doesn’t have a fixed timeline to make and deliver the plasma force-field, it has outlined several different iterations and possibilities where it could be deployed. Moreover, rapid generation of plasma mid-air may not have domestic applications, but defense forces can certainly extend the vision of Boeing.
Having witnessed how mere sound can extinguish flames, mid-air plasma force-field doesn’t seem farfetched.

Boston Red Sox Rumors: Rusney Castillo To Join Team From Minors Before End Of April........

Boston Red Sox Rumors: Rusney Castillo To Join Team From Minors Before End Of April........

Boston Red SOx Rumors Rusney Castillo
As the Boston Red Sox triumphed on Opening Day Monday, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 8-0, there was one high-priced Red Sox star who was not on hand for the victorious start to the 2015 season.
That was Rusney Castillo, the Red Sox’s $72.5 million Cuban import who put up a promising 0.928 OPS in 10 games last year — but who was sent down to the minor leagues to start this year.
However, the latest rumors around the Red Sox now say that the 27-year-old five-tool outfielder will have only a brief stay at Triple-A Pawtucket. In fact, one longtime Boston beat writer claims Castillo will join the Big League team by the end of April.
“I think that Castillo will be up, let’s put it this way, before April’s out,” said Sean McAdam, the Red Sox beat writer for Comcast Sports Net New England, who formerly covered the team for the Providence Journal and ESPN.com.
“Either something will happen in terms of performance on the field or an injury. It’s clear that he’s not going to be there for an extended period. It was a roster decision, not a baseball decision,” McAdam said on Sunday.
Red Sox fans were stunned by the decision to drop Castillo from the Boston 25-man roster at the end of Spring Training, in favor of 34-year-old often-injured veteran Shane Victorino.
The “roster decision” was caused by the Red Sox logjam in the outfield, with the sudden rise of Mookie Betts in center field, Hanley Ramirez with a monopoly on left, and right field mix that includes Victorino, Allen Craig, Castillo, and reliable sub Daniel Nava.
But Boston General Manager Ben Cherington said that an oblique injury suffered by Castillo early in Spring Training that cut into the Cuban star’s playing time also played a role in what Cherington called the “tough conversations” which led to Castillo’s demotion.
“The only thing he hasn’t done as a professional baseball player in the United States is play every day for a stretch of time,” Cherington told the Boston Herald last week. “Then he misses some time in the spring. He’ll have an opportunity to do that. He’ll have the benefit of being able to get into the season and play every day and hopefully get on a roll, and then we’ll see where it goes.”
But with Victorino appearing in only 30 games in 2014 — and fewer than half of his team’s games over his past four seasons with three different teams — and often struggling at the plate, the Red Sox will likely see Rusney Castillo in Boston sooner rather than later.

The chickens are coming home to roost for Big Ag, as an aging baby-boomer population continues to connect the dots between the advent of biotechnology and the many chronic diseases for which people of this particular generation, and even younger generations, now suffer en masse.
A recent letter sent by former active Marine Jon Abrahamson to Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant tells the likely all-too-common story of disease progression without apparent cause. Abrahamson recalls how he suddenly began to develop nerve problems and numbness in his hands and legs, a degenerative process that left him almost completely incapacitated.
At the time, Abrahamson wasn’t aware of how his diet might be to blame for his poor health, including sudden weight gain despite no major changes in what he was eating and drinking. After investigating the situation further, Abrahamson came to the realization that genetically modified organisms (GMOs) were a common thread in his disease progression.
Abrahamson describes in his letter how his condition continued to worsen until he decided to go completely organic. ...

United States continues to beg ally after ally to forego joining the China-led (AII-BANK) - Now Netanyahu tosses Israel’s name into the mix.

As the United States continues to beg ally after ally to forgo joining the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), key nations have, nevertheless, ignored that plea.
The UK, Turkey, and Australia have already applied, among others. But the latest application might sting the most, as PM Netanyahu tosses Israel’s name into the mix.
47 nations have already applied for membership in the AIIB, a multilateral development bank spearheaded by Beijing.
Meant to provide financing for infrastructure projects throughout Asia – and to fill in loan gaps left by the International Monetary Fund – the bank is expected to significantly increase China’s influence.
Which is why the United States was largely against it.
With a Chinese bank pumping $100 billion into infrastructure projects in the region, Washington will inevitably lose some its own clout.
As such, the US has strongly dissuaded its allies from joining, but one by one, countries have flocked to the new institution.
And now the AIIB can add Israel to its list.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that Prime Minister Netanyahu had signed an application, saying membership would open up opportunities for Israeli companies to enter into one of the fastest growing markets on the planet.
The booming Asian economy isn’t the only thing pushing Israel toward the AIIB. Netanyahu’s government has been looking for ways to diversify its exports in response to a rising tide of anti-Semitism in Europe, and given that it could face potential sanctions over future conflicts.
At this point, Japan is the only major US ally who is still holding out on membership, but given the AIIB’s quickly growing influence, one can easily imagine Tokyo casting longing looks toward Beijing as Washington leads it in the other direction.
Israel joins China, India, Indonesia, Israel, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, Maldives, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, the Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, South Korea, Brazil, Russia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Denmark, Australia, Egypt, Finland, Kyrgyzstan, and Sweden, all having applied for membership.

Husband In Coma Awakes After Doctors Said Let Him Die, But Matt Davis Didn’t Remember His Wife....

Husband In Coma Awakes After Doctors Said Let Him Die, But Matt Davis Didn't Remember His Wife
When a husband in a coma awakes after doctors said let him die, any wife would be thrilled. But now the young married couple is having to learn to love each all over again since Matt Davis could not remember his wife, Danielle.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, after a U.S. family was poisoned at a luxury Caribbean resort, two children ended up in a coma and the father has been paralyzed.
In 2010, doctors recommended letting Matt die after the motorcycle crash caused an open femur fracture, fracture to the neck of the femur, fractured rib, lacerated liver, fractured collar bone, fractured jaw in two places, and occipital skull fracture.
The worst injury was Severe Diffuse Axonal Injury, a brain injury which left him in a coma, and doctors assigned a 90 percent chance for him being forever in a vegetative state.
“This was a difficult choice for me, being his wife I knew that he did not want to remain a vegetable and here the doctors were telling me that’s exactly what will happen,” Danielle Dave wrote on her blog. “I prayed a lot and chose not to take him off of life support. The next day Matthew opened his eyes.”
Even though the husband awoke from the coma, he could still not talk or move, so Danielle and her mother cared for him 24/7 from home. Three months after the accident, Matt finally spoke.
“We noticed he was trying to talk, more like whisper and I put his hat in his hand, told him to put it on his head,” Danielle wrote on her GoFundMe page. “After telling him multiple times he gasps out, “I’m trying!” It was the greatest thing I’ve ever heard!”
That simple change eventually turned into understanding full phrases, including requesting his favorite buffalo chicken wrap from Cheddar’s.
Unfortunately, Matt Davis did not remember his wife at all, including their dating, wedding, and marriage. He’s had to learn to love Danielle all over again, but now they enjoy playing scrabble and going on new dates at Disney World. They even do yoga classes together.
Danielle captioned the Facebook photo by explaining his progress.
“Matt fell out of his wheelchair yesterday… He’s okay. He saved himself. Usually if he looses his balance or falls or gets wobbly he tries not to fall and lands on his butt, hips, side, face… Catching yourself is an instant reflex. We don’t even think about, we just put our hands out without thinking. Go ahead and try to fall without catching yourself with your hands. It’s almost impossible. At the last microsecond you put your hands down. You save yourself…. HE did it. The part of his brain that just does things on it’s own is waking up. Yoga is waking him up. For the first time in 4 years Matt is getting the chills, yawning, sighing. All things your brain just tells your body to do. Things you can’t really control. Matt’s brain is still healing.”
Matt Davis is still recovering from his ordeal and is having difficulty walking. The family is hoping to raise $20,800 for a physical trainer through their GoFundMe page, and as of this publishing they are only several thousand dollars short of their goal. So what will they do once he can walk freely?
“‘What are you gonna do when Matt’s not in a wheelchair anymore?'” they’ve been asked. “The answer: Everything. We’re going to do everything.”

Allergic To Water: Teen Who Suffers From Extremely Rare Condition Can Barely Shower.....

water allergy
For allergy sufferers, life isn’t simple, whether it’s avoiding sunlight or steering clear from certain foods, the sometimes daily battle is a tough and challenging one.
However, life is more like hell for 17-year-old Alexandra Allen from Utah, who is actually allergic to water. Her condition, known as aquagenic urticaria, is so rare that there are only 35 known cases in the world.
That fact doesn’t help poor Alexandra much as there is absolutely no known or even treatment for the rare condition.
Alexandra’s water allergy is so bad that she has to shower quickly, in cold water, and can never even consider taking a long relaxing bath.
According to her, Alexandra said that she only discovered she had the allergy after soaking in a hot tub while on vacation, an activity which resulted in a serious rash, internal bleeding and painful joints.
Alexandra spoke to reporters about how she needs to avoid water as much as she can, “It’s not worth it anymore. It’s both emotionally strenuous and physically painful. I can’t let myself go there,” she said.
As well as being allergic to water, Alexandra is also allergic to her own sweat, which means she can only exercise when the weather is cold, in order to sweat as little as possible.
As Alexandra continued, “It feels like your skin has been sandpapered down until there’s only one layer left and it itches, but you can’t itch it or it will break and burn and bleed. You just feel like you’ve been dipped in a vat of acid, not for long, but for long enough to tear off a layer of skin,” she shared.
Unfortunately, one of the only things known about the condition is that it gets worse with age, and can even result in a deadly anaphylactic shock.
Despite everything, Alexandra is determined to live with her condition, and make the best of it, “I think I’m lucky, compared to a lot of other diseases I could have had. At least this is tolerable and manageable.”

New Louisiana Law Makes Cash Illegal For Any Transaction Of Used Merchandise, Either Buying Or Selling....

Doug Mataconis) Louisiana businesses are suddenly discovering a new law that flew under the radar during the last legislative session:

Cold hard cash. It’s good everywhere you go, right? You can use it to pay for anything.

But that’s not the case here in Louisiana now. It’s a law that was passed during this year’s busy legislative session.

House bill 195 basically says those who buy and sell second hand goods cannot use cash to make those transactions, and it flew so far under the radar most businesses don’t even know about it.

“We’re gonna lose a lot of business,” says Danny Guidry, who owns the Pioneer Trading Post in Lafayette. He deals in buying and selling unique second hand items.

“We don’t want this cash transaction to be taken away from us. It’s an everyday transaction,” Guidry explains.

Guidry says, “I think everyone in this business once they find out about it. They’re will definitely be a lot of uproar.”

The law states those who buy or sell second hand goods are prohibited from using cash. State representative Rickey Hardy co-authored the bill.

Hardy says, “they give a check or a cashiers money order, or electronic one of those three mechanisms is used.”

Hardy says the bill is targeted at criminals who steal anything from copper to televisions, and sell them for a quick buck. Having a paper trail will make it easier for law enforcement.

“It’s a mechanism to be used so the police department has something to go on and have a lead,” explains Hardy.

Guidry feels his store shouldn’t have to change it’s ways of doing business, because he may possibly buy or sell stolen goods. Something he says has happened once in his eight years.

“We are being targeted for something we shouldn’t be.”

Besides non-profit resellers like Goodwill, and garage sales, the language of the bill encompasses stores like the Pioneer Trading Post and flea markets.

Lawyer Thad Ackel Jr. feels the passage of this bill begins a slippery slope for economic freedom in the state.

“The government is placing a significant restriction on individuals transacting in their own private property,” says Ackel.

        To say the least.

As Thad Ackel, who is quoted in the linked report, notes, this law goes far beyond even the extraordinary step of banning cash transactions:.

The law goes further to require secondhand dealers to turn over a valuable business asset, namely, their business’ proprietary client information. For every transaction a secondhand dealer must obtain the seller’s personal information such as their name, address, driver’s license number and the license plate number of the vehicle in which the goods were delivered. They must also make a detailed description of the item(s) purchased and submit this with the personal identification information of every transaction to the local policing authorities through electronic daily reports. If a seller cannot or refuses to produce to the secondhand dealer any of the required forms of identification, the secondhand dealer is prohibited from completing the transaction.

This legislation amounts to a public taking of private property without compensation. Regardless of whether or not the transaction information is connected with, or law enforcement is investigating a crime, individuals and businesses are forced to report routine business activity to the police. Can law enforcement not accomplish its goal of identifying potential thieves and locating stolen items in a far less intrusive manner? And of course, there are already laws that prohibit stealing, buying or selling stolen goods, laws that require businesses to account for transactions and laws that penalize individuals and businesses that transact in stolen property. Why does the Louisiana State Legislature need to enact more laws infringing on personal privacy, liberties and freedom?

The standard justification for a law such as this is easy to understand. Second hand stores and pawnbrokers if only because both have long been a source for people in possession of stolen good to fence their ill-gotten wares. However, the law itself actually exempts pawnbrokers from the no-cash part of the law even though it’s fairly clear that pawn shops are notorious as the destination for stolen goods. If the law was really aimed at preventing stolen goods from being sold in this manner, why ban pawnbrokers? Even if you accepted the justifications on their face, though, this law goes way too far, especially in the banning of cash transactions. The purpose of the bill could be met simply be requiring some form of Identification be taken when a transaction is made, and that records of the same be maintained. Banning the use of legal tender completely is way over the top.

Additionally, while I haven’t researched the issue, I’m not even sure that the state has the authority to say that Federal Reserve Notes, which Congress has made legal tender for all transactions, cannot be used in a transaction. I would think that there’s a case to be made here that Louisiana has violated the Supremacy Clause of the Constitutional by saying that U.S. currency cannot be used for a certain class of transactions. Certainly, if this is allowed to stand, then the effect would be that any state could say that cash cannot be used for any number of transaction in the name of “fighting crime,” “public safety,” or whatever other excuse an inventive legislator can come up with.

It’s easy to understand why Louisiana would want to ban cash transactions. Absent some other form of record keeping, cash brings a kind of anonymity that paying with credit cards, debit cards, or checks cannot offer. If I’ve got a hundred bucks in my wallet, I can spend it anywhere I want without any concern that someone, somewhere is tracking me. You can’t say the same thing with any other form of payment. There’s something to be said for the ability to conduct your business without worrying about whether or not what you buy and where you buy is being monitored, either by a private entity or the government. In Louisiana, though, you can’t do that anymore, at least not if you want to buy used goods.

What do you Value most in your lifetime - " THANKS FOR YOUR TIME "

Take Care ....
A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door.

Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.

"Jack, did you hear me?"

"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said...

"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of the fence' as he put it," Mom told him.

"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.

"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said.

"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important. Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.

As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.

The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time.

Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture. Jack stopped suddenly...

"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.

"The box is gone," he said

"What box?" Mom asked.

"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was 'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.

It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.

"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."

It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox: "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read. Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr. Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside.

"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.

Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved:

"Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser."

"The thing he valued most was.. my time"

Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days. "Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.

"I need some time to spend with a friend," he said.

"Oh, by the way, Janet, thanks for your time!"

Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way..
2. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

3. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

4. You mean the world to someone.

5. If not for you, someone may not be living.

6. You are special and unique.

7. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and wait on His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.

8. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come from it.

9. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.

10. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

11.. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

12 . Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know and you'll both be happy .

13. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.

Send this letter to all the people you care about, if you do so, you will certainly brighten someone's day and might change their perspective on life... for the better.

To everyone I sent this to,

"Thanks for your time. "
