Quite a different take on the secret Vatican report said
to have shocked Benedict and led to his resignation

of more VatiLeaks revelations (MrFusion)
A 300-page secret report on conditions in the
Vatican was prepared by three cardinals for Pope Benedict XVI and delivered
on Dec. 17. A widely repeated story from the Italian newspaper La Republicca
claimed that the report identified a "homosexual network" within
the Vatican, and discussed various aspects of corruption in the Vatican,
apparently including actual quotes from the report. That article was based in
turn on another article in the Italian magazine Panorama, by reporter Ignazio
Ingrao. Now, in an interview by Dr. Robert Moynihan, Ingrao has revealed that
he never actually saw the report and never spoke to anyone who had. His
article was a "careful reconstruction" based on inferences from
interviewing clerics who had been interviewed previously by those preparing
the report. http://themoynihanletters.com/from-the-desk-of/letter-22-cappuccino In the newsletter following that above, Dr. Moynihan reports that Benedict met with the three cardinals who wrote the secret report shortly before leaving office, and then issued a statement which stating that the report "made it possible to detect...the generosity and dedication of those who work with uprightness and generosity in the Holy See at the service of the mission entrusted by Christ to the Roman Pontiff." In other words, it sounds as though the report identified the good apples rather than the bad. Perhaps that was an easier task...: http://themoynihanletters.com/from-the-desk-of/letter-22-the-three http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=271191 |
