UU0410 -  “ The News Spigot is Wide Open – Wow! ”

Hi Everyone,

I come to you today to give you a recent update on the election process and how this relates towards the international rollout of the IQD for Iraq.

Note: If you have not read my previous news letter from Monday 8/25 (posted at Recaps earlier Tuesday morning -
LINK), I encourage you to first read it. Today's news letter, as in all my news letters, is a continuation of the ongoing saga of the IQD RV process.

Today’s News

Today is Tuesday 08/26 and still no formal announcement of the fully formed and seated government of Iraq.

Haider Al-Abadi,  the prime minister, did  a news conference yesterday 8/25 as was expected.
What he said was that talks on forming a new government were constructive and predicted a "clear vision" on a unified administration would emerge within the next two days, state television reported.  So we wait today or tomorrow to here the news of their new government. I am very optimistic they will announce it tomorrow. I am hearing  this from all my sources too.

ISIS Militant Update

It now appears the push to eliminate the Islamic militants is moving into Syria. This si thought to be the only way they are going to stabilize northern Iraq. They must raid their camps and supply lines.

Negotiations with Syria are underway to allow a joint effort between their country and USA led coalition into Syria for this purpose. Many other Middle Eastern as well as European countries are joining in. The concept is to fight them now in Iraq and Syria or later in your own country.

This is what Syria had to say about this effort this week.

I do not quote- And they will soon have to choose what is more important: a (Syrian) regime change to satisfy personal antipathies, risking deterioration of the situation beyond any control, or finding pragmatic ways to unite efforts against the common threat.”

Syria said on Monday that it is “ready” to work with the United States and other world powers in fighting terrorism, as its ally Russia urged Western and Arab governments to overcome their distaste for President Bashar al-Assad.

His comments come as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) advances in several parts of Syria, including Raqqa province, where it seized the army’s last provincial outpost on Sunday.

This is all excellent news for us since this will eventually lead to more secure boarders of Iraq thus a more stable Iraq.

I now want to remind everyone the USA made the same mistake with Islamic State as it had with al Qaeda, which emerged in the 1980s when U.S.-backed Islamist insurgents were fighting the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. I am not saying this as a political statement or to bash the USA but only to demonstrate that the foreign policy of the USA seems to backfire on them frequently because they do not follow up on the groups they provide support to.

Seems changes in policy are always too late and the consequences are often felt later, only it’s a much larger mess to clean up later than addressing it now. We saw this with Nori Al-Maliki and we can all understand now that the USA should have broken off ties and support for this government way before the election of 2014. Honest members of the government came to Washington then to plea and beg for support. Remember too the no-confidence vote on the table in 2012. All Talibani needed was USA support for this initiative and there is so much that would have played out differently. This was the critical timeframe and turning point for Iraq that eventually led them to the instability and chaos of late 2012 onward. Do you remember?

Enough said on this topic because I am so disgusted with this entire interference by the USA since day 1 in their botched policy on how to kick start  this new democracy in Iraq. I only now hope they have learned some lessons from the last 8 years and are now willing to listen to support the honest politicians as they need a chance to prove they can rebuilt this government on their own.

One of the ways they can now provide this support is to allow the currency to go international and end the use of it as political leverage and for their own gain (some is personal gain too), which to this day is yet more botched efforts in this area too. Enough is enough! We can all see this and it is very apparent.

Nori Al-Maliki Update

For their part, political experts said that "the most important reasons that Al-Maliki and his deputies of blocking efforts in the formation of his new Al-Ibadi, is to ensure that prosecution and held accountable for the many crimes documented by", stating that "Maliki demanded before stepping down from his nomination as the sole candidate of the State of law coalition of Prime Minister, a legal guarantee of no prosecution, grant and his family full immunity."

The several regional States started moving recently to gather information and documents condemning Al-Maliki proved his involvement in corruption and massacres in Iraq, most recently received the Interpol international evidence and irrefutable documents proving the involvement of Al-Maliki in many massacres, as prepared by the war criminal. " Be rest assured he will not get away easy for what he has done to Iraq. Stay calm it is being taken care of. Of course a quick email or letter to your congressman or senator on this topic would not hurt. If nothing else it would show that Iraq is still very much in the eyes of the USA citizens and they demand these botched past policies now be corrected and righted.

CBI Update

This week it was comforting to hear confirmation to us that our old friend Dr. Mohammad Reza Sinan Shabibi is still working with the Central Bank of Iraq.

Many have been skeptical as to whether he was still involved in the CBI. Many have been saying he is secretly working in the background. His commentary this week shows us that both of these notions are correct and the current and past political situation in Iraq is in fact a factor in letting the currency go international and completing the currency reform project. The translation is not all that good for the article but you have to read the article and try to absorb the overall meaning of what he is trying to tell the Iraq finance ministry and the GOI.

I am not quoting- In the Iraq economy they face an economic problem at the individual level and at the community level. The problem is that these multiple needs, and resources for these needs is limited. Because resources are limited, we must choose needs that must be saturation. Iraq must satisfy the needs of social and economic but these many resources, whether financial or human negatively, are affected by war and the siege. These are loss of opportunities for growth.

In Dr. Shabibi’s article he also stated that it is important now to realize that time is not on their side and they must  now accommodate and make up for lost time  in terms of economic and productivity. Now they must exert even greater efforts and higher efficiency to make up for this lost time to reach their goals.

He compared Iraq’s economy to Japan and Germany, and how they made a big jump over the past decade after the Second World War, we see that the past is similar for Iraq but they are marked with the delay (over the last 8 years), which will increase the cost of development (catch up). He explained the reason for the delay in growth was due to political factors, because of political instability and economic factors delayed implementation of investment programs.

So why these statements now?

He is coming out now because he has a level of trust in the new government and knows it is capable in moving quickly forward, something he knows they must now do. Kind of like a race horse coming out of the gates. He wanted to give them a gentle nudge to push them out and make them realize now is their last opportunity…don’t blow it get going now right out of the gate!

I am confident more than ever now in saying I believe he will return to Iraq and take formal control of the CBI and this will occur very soon. It will occur prior to the international RV of their currency. Something to watch for.  Many say I am going out on a limb by saying this in public but this recent article appearing this week by Dr. Shabibi convinces me yet even more of this belief. It is a very timely article.

Summary

So today’s news is good news but not what we expected to hear.

What can we expect next?

So we now wait and see if they live up to their promised 2 day extension in making the announcement or will they postpone it again? They have already postponed it twice.

We can expect the effort to bring Maliki to trial is picking up pace and I believe the will prevail.

I believe the government is very much all done and seated. All they need is to announce it to the world.

In the recent past weeks they have had difficulties getting the blocs to submit good candidates for the ministry positions. We have see article after article on this topic where Abadi has come out and stated the criteria for candidates must be met or they will be rejected. I believe they now have a decent line up of ministers.

Then the last of the ministers was debated on for some time – the security minister. This position was filled with a temporary candidate and the USA stepped in and strongly suggested they fill the position now with a permanent minister. They are assuring no more shenanigans like the “proxy” ministers of Maliki.  Maybe the USA has learned some lessons after all?

The news media coverage on the interview with Dr Shabibi too was very promising and I am glad to finally see a confirmation he is concerned and working with the CBI.

The fact that the USA is forming the coalition and getting ready to move in to Syria and the Syrian government is working with them is all very good news for Iraq’s stability.

So all the recent news is very encouraging and in the right direction for yet more stability in Iraq. Let’s see what the rest of the week brings us.

Then when can we expect the RV?

All I will say is what I have been saying all along we wait for a formal (global) announcement to the public that the Iraq government is now fully formed. Many of you asked me if a formal, public announcement is necessary and the answer is a big fat YES

I do whole heartedly believe that the RV rollout will be completed just prior to or just after this announcement.

I want to emphasize once again this final announcement  of the IQD going international will not happen until the USA feels the Iraq government is stable, non-sectarian and is a functional government. This is has been the plan all along. They may have wavered a bit on how the plan was implemented but the overall plan guidelines have not changed.

Peace and Luv To Ya All,
Mnt Goat
