KINGMAN, AZ - Kingman's airport is busier than
normal these days as two military services temporarily use it for
training and refueling.
The Kingman Daily Miner reports that the Kingman
airport, along with others in the area, are being used for several
months by Navy trainer aircraft based out of Corpus Christi, Texas, with
multiple takeoffs and landings daily.
Meanwhile, other recent military activity at the airport includes refueling of two types of Army transport helicopters.
Kingman Airport Authority Executive Director
David French says the airport hasn't had this much activity since World
War II when it was a training base.
With some exaggeration, French says the Kingman airport has been busier than Chicago's O'Hare.
