“IS THERE ANOTHER CIVIL WAR COMING?”

Article submitted by a guest ...............

“IS THERE ANOTHER CIVIL WAR COMING?”

During the 1860’s our nation was in the midst of a very bloody civil war that split our land in two, pitting one side against the other. And yet, even now many years later, we find ourselves facing divisions and civil unrest as prominent, if not even more so, than before.

By September of 1862, and soon after the Union victory at Antietam, Lincoln issued a preliminary Emancipation Proclamation stating that as of January 1, 1863, all slaves in the rebellious states “shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free.” While the Emancipation Proclamation did not free a single slave, it was an important turning point in the war, transforming the fight to preserve the nation into a battle for human freedom.  Even though he had stated that slavery was evil to the black race, the state and the country, his purpose was not to interfere in the affairs of slavery in the states where it existed.

As much as Lincoln hated slavery, he was bound by the Constitution that protected slavery in any state where citizens wanted it. Of course Lincoln had to balance his concern for the union with that of ending slavery. But it wasn’t until 1865 that the Thirteenth Amendment was finally ratified and passed, ensuing neither slavery nor involuntary servitude … shall exist within the United States.”

And even now after 151 years, our nation and much of the world is plagued by racism and bigotry. We can look back upon the speeches and marches of the 1960’s as Rev. Martin Luther King so passionately spoke of inequality and hatred, and even now many of these problems still exist. Our hatred extends to others of different faiths and creeds, and to those of different life styles and looks. We are a nation that is as divided as it was at the time of Lincoln.

6/30/16

“A civil war will emerge for you will be divided, oh land, that was once the land of the free and the home of the brave.  You have been held in the balance and have been found wanting. The writing is upon the wall and it spells things that you don't want to hear.”   (Portion of prophetic word from "THE PLAYERS ARE SOON TO ENTER THE ARENA")

The recent political drama that has filled our everyday lives with its view on borders, guns, anti-Semitism and greed shows us where the true heart of many of us are. And yet perhaps anger is justified as the nation reels and rocks back and forth like a drunkard upon the seas.

But it is becoming very plain that these divisions are becoming more and more prominent as each day goes into the next one.  We are plagued with mass shootings almost every week around the globe and even in our own land, and these divisions are now not just between black and white, but now are between rich and poor, Christian and Muslim, Mexican, Black and White, and the list could go on and on.

Even from the pulpits we can hear scathing sermons on the political battle which will ultimately be resolved this fall, and yet I believe the battle may never end.

This seems to be the case because the intense disagreements that many of us believe in don’t seem to be overlooked.  Christian maturity is sorely lacking as many seek to prove their own stance even at the sacrifice of unity or love. We have left our first love, and have now replaced it with the idol of political reverence.

I have received countless prophetic words that have spoken about these very things, and I know that a few others have as well. Earlier in June of this year, the Lord spoke this to me about this very subject:

"I TELL YOU THAT THIS COMING FALL IS GOING TO TEAR OPEN A GREAT DIVISION IN THE UNITED STATES"
6/11/16

2 Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. 13 You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. Mark 13

"I tell you that this coming fall is going to tear open a great division in the United States for, with the upcoming 'election', more and more fights will be breaking out. Entire churches will be divided. The Capitol building will house a new candidate but many who thought that this would happen will be surprised at the outcome.

The time has come for all believers to put aside their differences. The time has come to put away your opinions for there will be bloodshed and hatred in the streets. Brother will hate brother and then the great time that I have spoken of in My word will occur.

For it is not a time to fear. It is not a time to lose heart for with the growing darkness there will also be a growing light and this nation, which was once the home of the free and the land of the brave, will change.

Many people think that a certain person will make your land great again, but I tell you that these things are not going to happen. My word states that in the last days great trouble will come. It is inevitable.  Your prayers can't keep it from happening.

But know that I will strengthen you for these days that are ahead. Know that I will enable you to go through them, and great exploits will be done in My name. Many will be freed from the chains that have held them, but a deceiving spirit will also be seen in the land. "

And so, as the heat is turned up as we approach this fall season, let us keep our ears tuned to the Holy Spirit so that we may truly hear from Him. Let us at least begin to put our petty differences aside that seem to so easily divide us. Let us learn how to listen to each other, and not to our own personal arguments and viewpoints, no matter how strongly we may feel about them.

And finally, as we begin to do these things, let us realize that indeed God is in control of the nation and the world around us, even as violence increases, and hatred ensues. Our ultimate hope should never be in any political candidate or viewpoint or cause. I personally believe that everything that can be shaken will be shaken, so that eventually more will see that judgment upon the land is needed.

Amen,
Stephen Hanson
