Free Stuff or Freedom - which do you choose?

Free Stuff or Freedom - which do you choose?

The most important decision you can make ----- a letter from a friend.

If you voted for Obama in 2008 I understand the feeling you had then. I confess that I voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976 based on the same feelings. But after four disastrous years I realized my mistake in voting an incompetent man into the White House.

Obama is not only as incompetent as Carter but has turned the country in a direction much different than the founding principles on which it was created. His ideology has altered the way the State interacts with the private sector and is fundamentally different than most people believe.

If you don't want to read my letter, take the time to watch this video - it's entertaining but pointed - the similarities between Obama and FDR are striking.

I am writing you because I feel that the election November 6th is the most consequential election in over 100 years. This an election of "We The People"
vs a ruling class that believes government solves everything. This ruling class feels they know better than you about how you should live your life and they are willing to spend money with no concern for the future.

In short, it's a clear cut choice for liberty vs tyranny. Free stuff or freedom - which would you choose?

Will you support the principles of the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, or doom us to the consequences of making this country a state-controlled banana republic?

Your vote on November 6 will decide which path we take.

There's all kinds of reasons to vote against Barack Obama. But I'd like to focus on ideas not addressed by the media.

This election is not about Big Bird, binders or bayonets. It's much more consequential. These two issues will be what we vote about:

1) Are we a country that believes that our "rights" come from our Creator or those rights are given to us by benevolence of the government?

2) Do we believe that government should in some way be limited or forever grow and expand?

The path set out in our Declaration and Constitution provides each of us the opportunity to create anything we desire. The solution to the country's economic problems is a broad and lasting recovery driven by free enterprise and free markets.

The path to a large centralized government run State started with Woodrow Wilson in 1912 and has progressed through FDR, LBJ and now Obama. We have now reached a tipping point from which there is likely no return. This election will determine if we descend into a Centralized State controlled society or maintain our individual liberty.

You see, Obama and the modern Democrat party believe that government is everything - the more the better. They attempt to bribe you to support their election by constantly promising you more free stuff (health care, food stamps, phones, etc.). Opting for free stuff leads to an ever growing nanny State that will tell you how to lead your life. This is called tyranny. You lose your freedom and liberty.

In addition, by promising more and more free stuff, these politicians will bankrupt the country causing an economic collapse. The top down large government approach has created a dependency state where more and more people feel they have no chance, so they opt to receive free stuff with no hope for a better future. This does not lift people up - it keeps them down.

Are you an "issues" voter? This election is not about gay rights or women's rights - it's about individual rights.

Are you a "they're all the same" or "lesser of two evils" voter"? Because change happens so gradually, we often don't really see the differences. In my opinion, voting for larger and larger government always leads to evil because government uses the power of force to control you.

Or will you sit home and do nothing? This is a vote for the incumbent - not a protest "against the system" Not to vote is to vote.

If you have decided to vote for the incumbent or not at all, please read this.

Have you wondered why the US economy has not really recovered on the past 4 years despite the "recession" officially ending in June 2009? Was this just Bush's fault? Was Obama dealt a bad hand because this was a really bad recession? Is there a recovery underway? The answer is no, no and no.

It is Obama and the Democrats economic policy driven by their ideology that has caused this economic stagnation.

Did you know that net income in the US has fallen by 8% in the last 4 years and net worth fallen by 40%? And despite Obama claiming to have created 4 million jobs - there has been a net loss of 1.3 million jobs in the last 4 years(and most of these jobs are part time)? Gas prices have more than doubled and food prices are up as well. With the largest tax increase in history scheduled to take place January 1st and the imminent implementation of the ACA (Obamacare), companies are putting the brakes on.

No, a recovery is not underway and if Obama is re-elected we are headed for a much deeper recession. Not only has the economy worse than four years ago - its worse than even last year.

In the last four years your assets have become worth less, you make less and it costs more to buy the stuff you need.

If Obama is re-elected starting in January the economy will get worse not better!

There are massive tax increases coming that will create another recession or worse; massive new regulations on health care will kick in increasing costs and reducing care AND reducing your access to health care; and major EPA greenhouse gas regulations that will skyrocket the cost of energy and gasoline will be implemented.

Don't think these changes will affect the economy?

They already are - read the headlines about how many companies have announced layoffs for the end of this year - Dupont, Dow, UBS, Zynga, HP, Ford, Colgate, Sharp, AMD and many more (not to mention the coming defense cuts that will kill more jobs).

So, what do you want the US to look like in the
next four years?

Will we have a Nanny State where government bureaucrats force you to buy light bulbs made with toxic metals, what kind of toilet to piss into, what size soft drink to buy, how much salt to use and force you to buy health care or pay a fine? Where some government bureaucrat on an Independent Patient Advisory Board decides whether you get the medicine or surgery you need (and government regulations lead to rationed health care)?

Do you want a country where energy prices continue to go higher because utility plants will be shut down, gas fracking and oil drilling will be suppressed leading to higher gas prices and electric rates?
Do you want a massive bureaucracy that generates 80,000 pages of laws a year that will make you a criminal because it will become impossible not to break the law?

Do you want a government that promises you free stuff in exchange for their intrusion into your life and loss of freedom?

Or do you want a free society where you can pursue your dreams without excessive taxation and having to fight ever growing regulation? Where there is real economic growth, not some phony growth manipulated by excessive government spending?

The November 6 U
.S. elections are critical to determine the future path of the U.S. Will we remain a free people or go down the path of tyranny and economic destruction? I believe if we don't change course this November it will be too late.

Why has the economy stagnated for the past
four years? Is it because this was such a bad recession? Could any Presidents have done better? Well, two administrations faced worse economies when they entered office and both had roaring economies by the end of their first term - Harding and Reagan. I will share how they did this later. On the other hand, two Presidents took a bad situation and made the economy worse. That would be FDR and Obama.

Why do I say this? Let's go back to basics.

The US was created based on an idea - that we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (originally the word "property" in a first draft of the Declaration). The idea that our rights come from God and Natures god is a unique idea in the history of people.

Most
states (and I use the word "state" to include any government) believe that it is the state that grants rights to the citizens. This is critical difference to understand and accept. For if rights do not come from God, then they are granted by the state. And if a state can grant you rights, it can take them away. And the history of mankind shows that it is the tendency of states to try to take away rights and thus take away liberty. This is what distinguishes America from the rest of the world.

And the U.S. Constitution was written in a way to try to limit the power of a central government because the Founders knew that the larger the central government the less freedom you would have. The Constitution puts into practical terms how the government should interact with "We the People" to protect the rights the Declaration of Independence outlines.

Now most people don't want dictators but many have been seduced by the idea that a more perfect society with "social justice" can be formed with a different type of government. Two hundred years ago Alex de Tocqueville warned how the new American democracy could be destroyed:

After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.

The idea of creating a perfect state (Utopia) has appealed to people since the beginning of written history. Philosophers (from Thomas Moore to Karl Marx) have come up with their own versions (by the way in "Utopia" Moore states that the way to take control over the people is by taking control of the health care system!). A Utopian state is one in which an elite few (who claim to be smarter or better than their fellow citizens) can determine the rules by which the rest of us live.

This experiment in creating a Utopia has gone by many names: collectivism, fascism, communism and socialism. The Democrats make it sound innocuous by calling themselves "Progressives" or "liberals".

These Utopian Statists offer the people "free stuff" to bribe them into giving up their freedom and people fall for this ruse all the time.
Now don't be turned off by labels. As Robert A. Heinlein noted:

"Political tags – such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth – are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire."

This is what tyranny looks like.
And all such societies lead to poverty, death and economic destruction. That is why I stated the consequences of this election could lead to our economic destruction. I have visited Russia and China and seen close-up how this turns out. Millions die and most people (except for the elite few) live in poverty with no chance to pull themselves out.

One of the essential aspects of being a free people is that we have property rights. That is, when we use our labor to create value for our fellow citizens, the money we earn and the property we acquire is ours to keep. And the more value we create by using our labor and ideas helps lift everyone financially. History has shown this to be true. Societies that value free market capitalism have more wealth than those that don't by large margins. Is there disparity within such a society? Yes, but there is also opportunity for those at the bottom to move up and that is one of the great benefits of living in a free society. In a Utopian State everyone is equally poor (except for the privileged elite) and no one has the freedom to succeed and improve the quality of their lives.

Marx wrote "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs". This redistributive philosophy entices the lazy to work less knowing they will still get all of the benefits of those working hardest. Meanwhile those that work hard will see that their efforts are for naught and eventually stop working - then everyone starves. The Democrats want the wealthy to "pay their fair share" and "spread the wealth around".

The presidents "class warfare" is a dangerous idea. It provides cover for theft by those with less thinking that through force of government that they can steal the production of others. My wife lived through this in China during the Cultural Revolution - millions died. Today we have a very large portion of our population that lives off the effort of others - they want their free stuff. At some point this dependent class of people will exceed the working people and bankrupt our society. Then we will have neither free stuff nor freedom. Not since the days of slavery have so many people felt so entitled to the work of others.

The current incarnation of the Democrat party has completed adopted the idea of creating a Utopian State. They continue to push us toward a larger government with unaccountable agencies that dictate all kinds of minutia about how we are to lead our lives.

They promise you more free stuff to make you dependent on the government. These policies not only reduce our freedom but also reduce our wealth. Obama has stated on multiple occasions that it is a good idea to "spread the wealth around" and he strongly believes in a "redistributive" system. Notice that, unlike Clinton, Obama never moved to the center politically. He wants to create a new "leftist" majority in this country. His whole campaign is aligned for this purpose.
The Republicans have not been immune to Utopian philosophy either - T. Roosevelt and Hoover come to mind. Maybe about half of the Republicans in Congress believe in real liberty and limited government as defined in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. As far as I can tell, the few Democrats that used to believe in these principles have been run out of office. This is not JFK's Democrat Party.

Barack Obama is the most radical big government Statist ever to serve as a U.S. president. His father was a self-avowed collectivist, he was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis - a proud Communist Party member, and Obama says in his own autobiography that he hung around with Marxists at Columbia. He has vowed that if Congress doesn't accept his agenda he will impose it by fiat using these unaccountable agencies that dictate every aspect of our lives (for example, he's using the EPA to shut down coal plants and stop fracking.)

If Obama is to serve one more term and can appoint one more Supreme Court Justice that also doesn't believe in our Constitution (there are
four Justices who prefer to look to other Constitutions now), we are doomed to becoming a State where individuals have no rights. A radical Supreme Court will allow government to squelch our individual freedoms - forget the First and Second Amendments - not to mention private property rights.

Some people think they should vote for Democrats because they are concerned for the poor or for education or gay rights. Let me address these concerns.

First, why does the Democrat party align itself with radical Islamists (like the Muslim Brotherhood)? These radical Islamists are not interested in gay rights or women's rights. No, the common denominator is Democrats and Islamists both believe in Statism - for Islamists this is Sharia Law. These Islamists do not believe in democracy - watch what is happening in the Middle East - the people are not getting freedom, they are getting Sharia Law imposed by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Once the Democrats have installed their all-powerful State, do not believe for a second that the State cannot take away those "rights".
It is foolish to vote for Democrat Statists if you are concerned about gay rights or womens rights. The only important rights are individual rights - and the Statists want to trample those. Once your individual rights are gone forget those other rights. This appeal to those "rights" is just a charade.

What about education? The Democrat Party stands with
teachers unions to create a monopoly of state run schools that offer poor education (especially to inner city black children). Without competition, inner city kids are doomed to a life of dependence and poverty. Real education reform will come only when this lock hold by the teachers unions is broken and competition for students opens up. That will improve education - not more money given to poorly performing teachers. The current situation is not only unfair, it is racist.

Finally there is the issue of poverty. Many complain that capitalism is unfair because many people are poor while others get rich. They want everyone to have an "equal outcome". They say capitalism is broken. However, we don't have a completely free market economy. In fact, we have crony capitalism. This is where the government has become so large and corrupt that our Representatives write laws to benefit some companies at the expense of others. So rich donors to politicians will be rewarded with low interest grants, special tax deductions or favors that give them a business edge. Whether it is subsidies to farmers to grow corn for ethanol or build unsustainable solar companies - these market distortions are all doomed to eventual failure. The Soviet Union is a great case study in why Central Planning fails.

Even more important when the governments spending excesses cause society to collapse the poor will be the hardest hit.

Should we help other people - absolutely! But it is your individual responsibility to help - not to steal someone else's property (money) to do it. Want to help the poor? - start a business and hire them, make lots of profit and give to charity to help those unable to work. Whether it is health care or a safety net for the elderly or indigent, free markets can provide a much fairer and cheaper alternative to government programs. Creating a class of dependent citizens hurts them in ways far more serious to their self-esteem and creates generational poverty.

You see, no matter how smart some bureaucrat is, he or she can never know the best solution to a problem.
It is only the millions of actions by individuals trying to make something better that people want that can create the best and most efficient products and services. This "invisible hand of the marketplace" guides their actions. If it is a bad idea, they lose money and go out of business. If its a great idea they get rich. And in getting rich, they enrich everyone by redistributing their wealth through market transactions. It has been erroneously labeled as "greed" but it is really self-interest. The rule of some super smart person or benevolent king can never match the collective wisdom of millions of people trying to make their lives better.

In
centralized states people are more equal economically - but that equality comes with a severely low standard of living - everyone (except the ruling elite) is equally poor. The only way out of poverty is free market capitalism where everyone has equal opportunity and property rights. By working in their self-interest they create value for society and society rewards them with money raising their standard of living.

This is what it means to have liberty. Do you want liberty or slavery and poverty?

Warren Harding/Calvin Coolidge faced a
depression in 1920-21 where the economy contracted by more then 15% - much larger than 2008-09 recession. But they cut government spending by 80% over 2 years. Unemployment went from over 12% to 2% in two years and we ended up with the Roaring 20's - the most innovative, fastest growth decade in our history. Of course, Reagan slashed tax rates from 70% to 28% and cut government regulation and we had high growth and low unemployment for 25 years.

What these leaders realized is that government intervention hurts economic growth. What FDR gave us during the 1930's and Obama is giving us now is an increasing regulatory and tax burden on businesses. This creates uncertainty and businesses won't invest and hire when there is great uncertainty. Four more years of Obama will make this period become the second great depression. People that have liberty work to improve their condition and produce wealth for all, people without liberty sit on their hands.

Of course, there are other reasons to vote Obama out. His apology tour and appeasement to those that hate us makes Neville Chamberlain look like a amateur. He has made us less safe. We are the weak horse and our enemies are gathering to put in the final stake.

The recent terrorist attack in Benghazi is proof of this. Obama is not only incompetent; he is unfit to be Commander in Chief. However, the danger from within is worse. If we get our act together, we should fear no one.
I have no illusions that Republicans are perfect and I expect some to continue giving other peoples money out to buy votes (and power). But we do know that Democrats today want a huge central government. So I ask you vote them out and next election cycle work on voting out big government Republicans out of office. We need leaders that embrace the ideas of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution - freedom and free markets.

In a burst of what today might be regarded as political incorrectness, Madison wrote in 1787: “The diversity in the faculties of men, from which the rights of property originate, is not less an insuperable obstacle to a uniformity of interests. The protection of these faculties (by what Obama calls “negative rights”) is the first object of government.”

In modern English: It is government’s job and duty to protect the rights of those who succeed, even if the majority wishes to take these rights away. That is the test of character of a democratic government.

Just remember the next time Obama attacks the successful of this Robert A. Heinlein truth:

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

Or as Obama would say: “You didn’t build that
.

And what are the state’s responsibilities vis-à-vis all these groups and associations that exist between the individual and the government?

Paul Ryan summed it up in one sentence: “Basically, it is to secure their rights, respect their purposes, and preserve their freedom.”

What are governments duties towards the individual?

1.
secure their rights
2. respect their purposes
3.
preserve their freedom

The final bit of this puzzle is the nature of liberalism/leftism itself. It is founded on an essential lie – that government can create something from nothing, and do so perpetually.

Liberalism is the supposedly less virulent form of its crystallizing notion, Marxism, which has never worked in any real application of it, and, absent some sort of technological culture of abundance driven by artificial intelligences capable of modeling universes on an atomic level, probably never will. Yet folks continue to believe in it, despite its perfect record of failure. Why? Because they want to believe that you really can get something for nothing, that there really is such a thing as a free lunch, and maybe if they just return to the communist catechism one more time, that will finally, finally, do the trick, open the magical Marxist cornucopia, and flood them with all their dreams come true.

I hope that you will vote for freedom Nov 6. Do not support Barack Obama. I ask that you vote for Romney and vote against your Democratic representatives in Congress. If this message resonates with you I encourage you to forward it to friends and family.

"But but.....he's such a nice guy, look at him and he's so innocent."

Too late! We're already doomed, one of these days Obama is going to have to be impeached and the worst most deceptive world ever is about to begin.

Everyone WAKE UP!!!!!

Obama is the Antichrist Messiah. Think about how easily his poll numbers rise, how the Federal Reserve is vanishing, how no one questions him.

He smiles because he knows it's true! If you have any defenses at all, make sure to draft a bill of impeachment.

Nobody is going to believe you if you claim Islam has ushered in the false messiah, to all of them the false messiah already came & went.

Think about this, when everyone receives gifts from Obama they never pause to question. They worship him and generally agree with whatever he says. Twenty four hours a day!

Well I have had it. I will not conform.
Whether that be spiritual Jesus, Obama or Saul I am not going to follow them by wearing a tag.

I will not follow any Messiah, Christ or the Antichrist who requests I wear a harmless chip to join their new family. That is how I know.

I know I will not be deceived because I simply am not interested in that, that to me is not freedom. That is power! I will not join the herd.

This to me is such a sick society it will be a long time in coming before I'm interested to follow any Messiah...whether real or false.

Barack Hussein Obama is definitely the twelvth Imam and sounds exactly like the Antichrist down to the fact everyone agrees with him.
