The
holidays are fast approaching!
That
means trimming the tree, family dinners, shopping and wrapping, cookie
baking, office parties and (hopefully) doing something for others less
fortunate than you.
But
sadly, for many, what should be a hectic but joyous season brings on or
worsens depression.
In
my (prior) insurance career I remember seeing many a medical record where
antidepressant medications were either switched or the dosage upped around
the holidays. Very sad indeed.
Because
it simply doesn't have to be that way. There are other better,
safer answers...and even the psychiatric community is getting on board.
Here's
an example:
A
study reported in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry showed that
when people suffering with depression who were not getting adequate results
from antidepressants added regular exercise into their daily routine, they
improved dramatically.
To
the tune of 30% achieving full remission of their depression!
I
commend those professionals for looking at other approaches besides
antidepressants for their patients.
After
all, antidepressants are not only bloody ineffective in many cases, but
they're simply dangerous!
Some of the common effects of
SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil,
Lexapro, and Celexa are:
-
Nausea
- Nervousness (so instead of being depressed you're nervous-whoopee)
- Headaches
- Sleepiness
- Sexual dysfunction
- Dizziness
- Stomach upset
- Weight gain
Plus,
the elevated levels of serotonin caused by SSRIs can cause changes in your
cell neurons that can be classified as brain damage.
And
ALL antidepressants are required by the FDA to carry a warning about the
risk of suicidal thoughts, hostility, and agitation.
So
the drug makes the original symptoms even worse...
Hmmm...exercise
doesn't seem quite so bad anymore, does it?
Other answers
Now,
exercise is a GREAT way to combat depression, but it's not the only one.
Treatment
with a skilled therapist is another. Note that just because someone has
MSW, PhD or MD after their name does not make them "skilled."
Just
as in ANY profession, there are good and not-so-good therapists. If you are
working with a therapist and it isn't helping or all they want to do is
push drugs at you, find another.
In
addition, there are three other approaches you can take to help beat depression
safely, naturally, and with no frightening side effects.
They
are:
Natural depression
remedy #1: Food
There
is a direct connection between food and mood.
Many
people who suffer from depressive disorders are deficient in certain
vitamins and minerals, especially B-complex vitamins and magnesium.
The
typical foods most people eat (lots of processed foods, fast food and
refined carbohydrates) are deficient in those and other nutrients. Plus,
those foods create lots of acid wastes, which makes it harder for your body
to absorb whatever nutrients you are taking in.
As
a result of the "age of convenience," our reliance on packaged
and fast food-like substances has increased dramatically over the last 50
years...and so have reported cases of depression.
That's
not a coincidence.
The
great news is that, once they start eating more real foods (and decreasing
the acid wastes in their body), people are seeing a DRAMATIC improvement in
their depressive symptoms.
You
see, whether we like it or not, all foods have chemicals in them. Foods
from nature are filled with nutrients that support our bodies and minds.
Packaged food-like stuff has all those good things heated out, bleached out
and chemicalized out. So it's dead, literally. And you can't be
fully alive and happy when you eat dead, chemicalized junk.
But
when you make food your drug, help your pH be more alkaline and nourish
your body in the way it needs to be, your body and mind can function SO
much better.
You can accomplish those
important goals simply by following my advice here in the Great
Taste No Pain health system.
Great Taste No Pain
is
not a diet -- it's an eating lifestyle that helps you attain a good acid/alkaline
balance and efficient digestion.
There
are just a few simple principles to remember, and I explain it all in
everyday language simple
enough for the average 10 year old to understand.
Natural depression
remedy #2: B12
Current
studies show that as many as 25% (1 out of 4) people may have or are
seriously close to developing a vitamin B12 deficiency.
When
B12 levels run low, that can cause a wide range of vague symptoms from head
to toe including:
- Lack of energy
- Memory problems
- Sleeplessness
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Vision problems
- Weakened immune system
- Mental fog or confusion
and...
Depression!
That's
right. A vitamin B12 deficiency can trigger depression and mood swings. And
with one out of every
four of us deficient in B12, it's no wonder so many
people are in permanent funks.
The
good news is a B12 deficiency is extremely easy to tackle. All you need is
a high quality supplement that actually gets into your bloodstream.
And
Hydroxaden
2.5 delivers on both.
Hydroxaden
2.5 is a convenient vitamin B12 nano-spray that gives you a daily dose of
one the most powerful forms of vitamin B12 (hydroxocobalamin).
Where
other companies are going for cheap forms of B12, we use effective forms of
B12.
Check out
the difference.
Just
five little sprays under your tongue each day give you a full 2.5 mg. of
B12 (that quickly gets into your blood stream) to boost your energy, help
sharpen your mind, enhance your immune system and beat depression.
In
addition to a crucial dose of vitamin B12, Hydroxaden
2.5 also gives you niacin (vitamin B3),
vitamin B6, riboflavin (vitamin B2) -- which can help address the
nutrient-deficient depression I mentioned above.
The holidays will soon be here--and what a difference it makes to
experience the true joy of the season.
If
you or someone you love suffers from depression, don't think that dangerous
SSRIs are the only answer...or that you're destined to feel miserable over
the next 2 months.
Try
the safe, natural approach and see how much better you can feel, both
physically AND mentally, both during this holiday season and 365 days a
year.

your health,

PPS: Josephine has no more
depression or anxiety!
Dear Sherry,
I am thankful for you and your
Great Taste No Pain
program. I’ve been on it for about three months and am enjoying life
once again.
No feeling sick, bloated,
uneasy with pain and bowel problems. I’m sleeping better and look forward
to each day. It is so good to not have to worry about making plans to go
out or buy tickets for up and coming events worrying if I will be well
enough to attend!
I also have no more depression
or anxiety. I’ve never eaten better thanks to your recipes and
information on food combinations. I have not taken any digestive aids or
missed a productive day since I discovered your program.
I have suffered with
diverticulitis for the past twenty years and ended up in hospital with a
severe infection twice. I truly believe that most illnesses begin in the
gut.
Continued good luck spreading
this most useful information.
Josephine

Food and B12 does not cure depression. It makes you feel better, but that's where it stops. Why? Because depression is a mental disease not even emotional. Using physical means to cure something that comes from mental body, which is a highly vibrational entity, will not ever work. No physical medicine or vitamins can reach that level unless they are vibrational in nature as well. And those are homeopathic remedies.
One of the most powerful remedies for depression is gardening. These days we live such insulated lives our feet rarely touch the ground so we build up electricity in the body, we need to walk bare foot occasionally to ground ourselves
We are not talking about that kind of depression/mood, we are talking about deep, chronic depression.
