Ukraine Crisis : Umbertino reported Kiev PM says Ukraine may impose sanctions against 172 Russian citizens and 65 Russian companies, saying they’re financing terrorism in Ukraine.

Russia RTS stock market in correction territory on Ukraine sanctions and Mideast crises.

 Russian officials say Russia is seeking to de-escalate conflict with Ukraine.  Russia Defense Ministry says military exercise near Ukraine is over.  Can you trust Pres. Putin on this one?

  Israel – Gaza Showdown : Bsndhn heard Cairo talks in limbo.  UN, White House urge new cease fire.  Hamas military leadership vows to fight until blockade ends, border crossings open. 

Gaza militants and Israeli forces trade rocket fire after Hamas attacks at the end of 3 day cease fire.  At least 5 Palestinians dead, 40 wounded, and 2 Israelis hurt. 

Other News : WHO calls Ebola outbreak an international health emergency.  It is reported 1,779 cases, 961 deaths in four W. African nations.  WHO says it needs extraordinary response to stop spread. 

Infected patients should be isolated for 30 days.  No travel or trade restrictions advised yet. Genx4me thinks it’s risky but worth the try as WHO weighing use of unapproved drug to combat Ebola outbreak.  Ebola experts urge broader use after treating 2 US charity workers.

 Thriver heard FAA issues new order restricting US carriers from flying above Iraq.  Turkish Airlines cancels flights to Erbil due to security concerns. 

Malaysia plans to nationalize Malaysia Airlines due to delist stock.  Company is reeling from two airline disasters this year.  Secy Kerry pressing for unity government in Afghanistan.  Met with Pres. Karzai and men competing to succeed him.

 Saint is not surprised to hear Senator John Walsh (D-MT) drops out of race, after plagiarism sandal, will serve out rest of term.  Rep. Steve Daines (R-MT) already favored.  Dems to seek replacement. 

Judge in murder trial of S. African athlete Oscar Pistorius to announce his verdict on Sept. 11.

A-J516 reported hurricane Iselle makes landfall on Hawaii’s Big Island with 70 mph max winds, heavy rain and high storm surf.  Knocked power for about 18,000 but no major injuries or damage reported.

Praise God! Emergency shelters set up for storm victims who lost power. Public schools and government agencies have closed down statewide.  Hurricane Julio forecast to reach Hawaii on Sunday.

 Expected to pass north of islands, but close enough to potentially cause damage.  Hawaiian does not know how to prepare for storms. 

Wildfire burning 75 miles east of Portland has destroyed one home, damaged two others.  Residents of 140 homes told to evacuate, 600 households put on alert.  We continue to pray for hurricane Julio to lose its power and be still and the wildfire in Portland to seize in the name of Jesus.

Dow is up 186 points at the news of Russia de-escalate and Pres. Obama’s order for airstrike in Iraq.  Stocks trading higher as global market react to global crises, earnings and GDP data in focus.

Gold is at 3.5 week high, closed at $1.312, oil is flat, 10 yr yield near lowest since July 2013. 

Silver closed at $19.97, copper at $3.18.  Crude oil closed at $97.65. 

Europe stocks down for third session. Buyers on this pullback with protection embedded in the long position.  Russian is the key, not Iraq.  Market is bullish because of market fundamentals, but careful because Putin might turn into Brezhnev.

 Chess is excited as FDA allows Tekmira’s experimental Ebola drug to be used on patients.  The stock went up 45%, closing at $20.70. 

Yahoo to join Google to create spy-free email systems.  Lululemon founder Chip Wilson to sell half his 27% stake to PE firm Advent International.  Netflix confirms new season of Arrested Development.

 Judge sets Aug. 20 hearing in Allergan’s insider trading suit vs Valeant & Bill Ackman.  Post Holdings Inc (POST)’s surprise Q3 loss disappoints Street, acquiring American Blanching for $128M.  Zynga (ZNGA) breaks even in Q2 but revs fall to $175M, miss est, cuts FY outlook on delays in new games.

 Worker productivity rose 2.5% in Q2 a labor costs rose 0.6%.  Q1 Productivity fell 4.7%, biggest drop since 1981.  Q1 labor costs revised to +11.8% from 5.7%. 

McDonald’s is losing customers as poll says 70% don’t like McDonalds.  Its July US sales fell 3.2% vs -2/6% est.  US same store sales down or flat since November.  Europe sales are the only bright spot, rose 0.5% vs (-0.7%) est.  McDonald’s Asia/Pacific, Middle East, Africa drop 7.3% in July vs (0.5%) est.

 Gymrat76541 was in the court when judge demands Argentina’s misleading statements must stop, it’s important to resume negotiations to resolve debt dispute.  Judge also warns of contempt order if Argentina’s fall statements don’t stop. 

Portugal, Italy, Spain and Greece enter correction territory down 10%+ from intraday highs.  Japanese stocks sink 3%, most Asian markets drop on Iraqi crisis.

 Captl1 is smiling to hear FICO changing credit scoring to ease access to loans, will drop bills if consumer has paid or settled with collections, give unpaid medical bills less weight.

 How does emerging market stack up? India – 29%, Brazil – 6%, China – 4%, Russia down 19%.  US based junk bond funds post record $7.1B weekly outflow.  US stock funds shed $18.47B, biggest outflows since February.

IPO Buzz : Ryerson Holdings (RYI), metal distributor company begins trading today at $11/share.  Green Bancorp (GNBC) also trading today at $15/share. Independence (ICO), contract drilling company begins trading today at $11/share.

From Dinar land : US let Sandfly lose in firing Tbombs against ISIS in Northern Iraq.

 Nannab gives a big sigh as Pres. Obama authorized action last night, to protect Kurdistan and Christians and prevent “potential act of genocide” on Yazidis.  Iraqi Air Force Chief says US advisers help coordinate attacks on ISIS in Kurdish region.

 Pres. Obama says “American combat troops will not be returning to fight in Iraq”.  ISIS captures Iraq’s biggest dam in Mosul, as outgunned Kurdish forces retreat.  Dam controls water and power to N. Iraq could flood the region. 

US military jets air drop humanitarian aid to religious refugees trapped in mountains of N. Iraq.  40,000 minority Yazidis fled deadly ISIS attack.  US launches air strikes in Iraq dropping two 500 lbs bombs on ISIS enemy forces. 

Vietnam1969 says no word on casualties as US strikes ISIS outside Erbil. Figher jets flew off USS George HW Bush carrier in Persian Gulf. US military conduct 2 rounds of air strikes on ISIS.  ISIS artillery was used against Kurdish forces defending Erbil, near US personnel.  US warplanes returned at night, conducted 2 separate air strikes against ISI target in northwest Erbil.

 Wiljor wonders if US airstrikes be targeting US supplied weapons in Iraq paid by our tax money?  US Humvees, Mrap transportations, machine guns, artillery are in hands of ISIL as Iraqi army retreated. 

US saw same problem in Afghanistan with US armed mujahedeen gear.  US pilots likely to avoid casualties striking from a distance against ISIL.

 Reinman gives thumbs up to Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, stated it is time for politicians not to cling to their posts and it will be a grave mistake if they did at this crucial time in Iraq’s history.  He added leaders must choose PM that will end the security crisis.  He also said ISIL targets all Iraqis including Sunnis.

 The only way out is a united government that represents all Iraqis and the process must start immediately. UNSC Ban Ki Moon asked international community to help by standing against ISIS and exert all efforts to cut off their financing and recruiting efforts.

 The Kurds need modern weaponry and supplies of ammunition which probably Americans will help. Exxon Mobil said their operations in the south is unaffected, same with Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) said its operations in Kurdistan region is safe and well protected.

 Merchants in Baghdad area said there is ample supplies of food.  Turkey’s Ministry of Energy is confident that oil flow from Kurdistan region will continue to Ceyhan port.

 Five tankers with capacity of 1M barrels are loaded in Ceyhan.  GOI and KRG still need to resolve the issue.   Iraqis have expressed their relief and hope after America provided humanitarian aid and conducted  air strikes against ISIL.

From rumor land : Tlar says Sunday we should see two step process. The first is declaration of the biggest bloc NA and second a nominee for PM.  Depending on how it turns out, we will probably see a new government. 

Bear5642 says his source indicated Maliki is out. 

Poppy3 says they have done the best job ever of painting ISIS much worse than they are so this charade of war will be cleared up very fast. 

Aggiedad77 suspects we have already taken action before the announcement made by Pres. Obama. 

Mt. Goat thinks we will be hearing the news they have new PM.  They also need to open the budget they desperately need.  They need to vote and seat new PM and do it quickly.

Tman23 says what we had last night was a confirmation of new PM and it is not Maliki.

 Bondlady says what started out as a protest for Maliki’s last term has turned into a full scale blood bath to rid him of 3rd term.

 Tim724 believes once the gate was opened for air strikes there is no going back.  Iraq must appear the victor in this so these terrorist cells won’t come back once the US is no longer present.

DC says it has been announced in newspaper and mosque that PM will be announced on Sunday. He added all the guys in UST and Fed are getting through their checklist, meeting with banks and homeland security, getting ready for distribution.  Everyone is lined up, prepared, ready to go and let’s pray this is it.

TNT Tony says Pres. Obama said they would not give Iraq any help until Maliki was gone and they had a stable government that we could see,  well… the help started yesterday J

What we can trust is that we can not trust what our government and news outlets are reporting whether true or not.
