EARTHQUAKES  SHAKE  RENO - STRONGEST  AT  4.4  MAGNITUDE

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the strongest earthquake to shake the Reno area Tuesday night was a 4.4 magnitude.

Above is a map of where the earthquakes started on Tuesday, according to data provided by the USGS:

The Nevada Seismological Laboratory reported the epicenter at 3.5 miles north of Galena High School.

There were reports of people feeling the earthquake throughout the city, from South Reno to Northwest Reno.

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a preliminary 4.4 magnitude quake struck south Reno at 10:46 p.m., the strongest one so far.

The location was 11500 Thomas Creek Road near Arrowcreek Country Club, with coordinates 39.431N 119.789W.

At least nine quakes have been reported Tuesday night by the USGS in the Reno area above 2.0 magnitude, with a 2.5 magnitude quake reported at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at Whites Creek, just north of Montreux Golf Club.

The Sparks Police Department asks that people do not call 911 unless to report an injury.
