Obamanomics: Pay of all Scranton, PA workers reduced to minimum wage $7.25 per hour

Scranton's Public Workers Now Paid Minimum Wage

July 7, 2012
The city of Scranton, Pa., sent out paychecks to its employees Friday, like it does every two weeks. But this time the checks were much smaller than usual. Mayor Chris Doherty has reduced everyone's pay — including his own — to the state's minimum wage: $7.25 an hour.
Doherty says his city has run out of money.

I saw in the article that the mayor did not want to go along with the corrupt city counsel in doubling [down] on the cities debt that already could not be repaid by selling more bonds and paying the origination/bonding fees.

As a result the city has run out of $ and forced to pay minimum wage to the workers to ensure they are paid according to state/federal labor laws.

What is really interesting is that the police & firefighters union YEAH THOSE HEROS CLUBS sued and got a court order to be paid their standard wage and will refile for contempt.

News flash if the city does not have the money to meet its bills it can not pay no matter how many nor what type of court order is issued and doubling an already un-payable debt is not a valid legal order to be issued.

From hence is the 11th marble to come?

If the city has lost its tax base over the years since its peak during WWII raising taxes is also not a viable option.

Maybe raiding the CAFR accounts and funds?

That will never be allowed.

Laying off many of the workers?

That creates safety & administrative problems and is not even considerable.

Cutting wages?

That will save some money, but how to make next payroll & pay the bond payment?

Raising property taxes?

People themselves just like the government have so much money and no matter what the bill, no matter what the order-they can only pay what they can afford no matter what.

Jubilee?

Never happen, but debt forgiveness is the 1 and only way out and a sound legal case can be made in the failure of full disclosure that the LIBOR rate that directly impacts the interest on all interest bearing and interest accruing debt instruments means a failure to achieve a meeting of the minds and fraud. Fraud might allow to the recoupment of 3x original debt.

But this is pure fantasy so long as we have corporate control of government and city workers willing to tax under color of law what is lawfully other peoples property to pay their wages and benefits and build-maintain their extravagant buildings to house their luxurious offices and incredible tools/equipment/NEW motor vehicles.

How can this be ? The economy is in full recovery. Unemployment is down. Everything looks great. And pigs fly too.

Scranton is simply one of the first, but by no means the last. it will spread from local governments to pension funds, to Social Security, to Medicare, to corporations, to the Federal Government to global financial collapse. It is now at the point where it can not be prevented. And you wonder why the Department of Dumbland Security bought hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition - they know exactly what's coming.

America is about to get a brutal introduction to reality... If you have not prepared, and want to get to the other side, start now!

So Obama is personally responsible for decisions made by the city council and mayor of Scranton, PA? Riiiiight.

Policies advocated and carried out by the Democratic Party for many years are responsible for this mess. They have destroyed the tax base, while public employee unions have bankrupted the treasury. What part of this does Obama not support?
