Blasting
off. Farting. Breaking wind. Cutting the cheese. Anal acoustics.
Prison break. Butt trumpet. The one-cheek sneak.
Did
you know that the average person passes gas 13 times a day.
The
amounts can vary from a pint to a half-gallon or more (don't ask me how
they measure that).
I
went to a Catholic elementary school and whenever a kid would let one rip
in class, Sister Catherine Joseph would just smile and say, "It's
natural, children!"
Yes,
it IS natural in small amounts. Gas is a natural by-product of the
digestive process.
But
excessive gas is another thing...and it usually means T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
How to tell normal
from excessive gas
First,
how do you know if your gas habits are normal or excessive?
Use
your eyes, your nose and your calculator.
Excessive
gas usually causes bloating, abdominal distention and discomfort (as in
buttons popping off your pants or having trouble breathing because they're
so tight in the waist).
Look
down. If your gut frequently resembles a basketball or you look or feel
perpetually pregnant, you're bloated and full of gas.
Plus,
excessive gas stinks really, REALLY bad. It can also come out "the
other end" as bad breath too, even when you haven't eaten things like
onions or garlic.
So
if your farts clear out the room and even gag the dog, trust me, they smell
bad.
Then
there's the simple numbers game. If you blow past the 13-fart daily average
by 9:00 in the morning, chances are good your gas is excessive, which,
again is an indicator of something bad going on inside you.
And
that is not funny.
What can excessive
gas mean?
Different
types of excessive gas can mean different things:
- Gas and belching during or
immediately after eating may be a hydrochloric acid deficiency in your stomach
or a food allergy.
- Gas within 1 - 1 1/2 hours
after eating suggests harmful bacteria overgrowth in your gut.
- Belching that worsens after
eating fatty foods may be indicative of gallbladder problems.
- Gas with foul smelling
stools may suggest malabsorption of nutrients or pancreatic dysfunction.
- Belching that increases when
you bend over or lie down (with or without your stomach contents coming up
into your mouth) is a sure sign of acid reflux.
- And last but not least,
excessive gas with diarrhea or constipation is an indication of colitis,
diverticulosis/itis or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
How to reduce YOUR
gas emissions
First
and foremost, it's important to see a doctor to rule out a condition that
may require medical treatment.
But
once you're sure you're just loaded with more gas than a Sunoco station,
chances are excellent that you can tame your anal acoustics and become much
more pleasant to be around if you address these 3 very common causes of
excessive gas:
1- Eat meals your body
can actually break down
It's
no wonder so many people are farting machines.
Considering
the "Western-type" diet loaded with chemical-laden processed
foods and horribly hard to digest meals, it's easy to see why we have nasty
cases of gas.
Eating
this way is also a LEADING cause of diverticulosis/itis, IBS and acid
reflux. They're simply different ways that your body is saying, "What
the heck are you doing to me?"
Plus,
our typical diets produce LOTS of acid wastes, usually more than your body
can effectively eliminate. That lowers your pH to a dangerous acid level
and stresses ALL of your organs--including your heart, liver, kidneys,
pancreas and gallbladder.
But
that can be turned around very easily by simply eating for better
digestion--like I explain in the Great Taste No Pain health
system.
The
GTNP manuals explain why
specific foods and food combinations cause digestive problems like gas,
constipation and heartburn and encourage or worsen IBS, ulcers and
diverticulosis.
It's
all based on simple chemistry and the way your body digests different foods.
There
are also guides that show you how to put together meals that digest nice
and easy and give you loads
of tasty recipes to try. You'll be shocked at how great you can feel
after eating for a change, and how delicious good-for-you recipes can be!
And
everyone around you will appreciate the fresh air :-)

gluten sensitivity, Great Taste No Gluten
is for you instead.

2- Balance your
intestinal flora for less gas
Nothing
can make you a smelly gas bag faster and easier than harmful bacteria
overgrowth.
You
see, the beneficial bacteria in your gut help digest certain carbs and
fiber. So when they're overcome by harmful bacteria, they can't do their
job as well, the carbs end up fermenting and...
Everybody
on the elevator knows for sure it was YOU!
Having
a good diet is essential for a health flora balance, but even if you do eat
healthy, the bacteria population in your gut can be thrown off by
medications, stress, lack of sleep or environmental toxins.
That's
where probiotic supplementation can make a HUGE difference in your
"cheese cutting."
And
Super Shield
multi-strain probiotic formula is up to the task.
Super
Shield
contains 13 of
the most feisty, effective strains of bacteria available. Studies show
that a wide variety of strains is important to helping the greatest number
of people, since each strain has its own "specialty" in terms of
how it helps your body and smoothes out your digestion.
3- Enzymes reduce gas
Not
only does the modern diet screw up your digestion, but it also uses up LOTS
of enzymes in the process. Eventually your body's ability to produce
adequate digestive enzymes may be diminished and that can mean deficiencies.
Enzymes
are essential for your foods to be broken down like they need to be...
...because
when they're not there, look out. You'll clear out a room faster than if
someone yelled, "Fire!"
Plus
inadequate breakdown of foods leads to poor nutrient absorption, which can
cause you to overeat (and pack on pounds) or develop deficiency diseases
like osteoporosis.
If
it's enzyme help you need, Digestizol Max
is your ticket.
Over
the last 50 years increasing numbers of people are suffering from enzyme
deficiencies and all the health challenges they cause. This directly
correlates with our increasing dependence on processed foods and fast foods.
And
the thing is, once your body's ability to produce enzymes is diminished,
that's it! You can't magically make more.
In
these cases, it can make a tremendous difference to give your body a little
help with a digestive enzyme supplement.
One
of the very first changes that many people report with Digestizol Max
is immediately less gas! And now you know why.
Embarrassing,
excessive, smelly gas does NOT have to be a part of your life any longer.
Take
a look at your gas habits and give your body the help it needs.
Your
body, you loved ones (and even the dog) will say thank you.

your health,

Sherry:
I was diagnosed about 5 months
ago with Ulcerative Colitis.
I have suffered with this for
about 18 years. I first thought my symptoms were caused by having
gallbladder surgery because that's when my symptoms began--the diarrhea,
unbearable stomach pain, gas, bloating.
It wasn't until I started
bleeding from the rectum that I had a colonoscopy and was diagnosed. The
doctor gave me Asacol 400 mg. When I read about all the side effects and
found out it wasn't going to cure my symptoms I said "no way."
I went on the Internet and
looked up Ulcerative Colitis and there you were, my special
angel. If it had not been for you and all your information I'd be
taking that awful medication and still having stomach problems.
I'm not only eating your way
but I'm also taking Super Shield
probiotic capsules and they are helping me tremendously.
I've noticed a big difference
in my energy level and my memory has improved greatly. No more stomach
pains, gas, diarrhea, bloating.
I'm no longer afraid to leave
the house and drive a long distance. I now enjoy going out to lunch or
dinner with my family and friends.
Thank God for giving you the
ability to help so many people with digestive problems.
Thank you for all your help.
Sincerely,
Linda H.
