Newton, North Carolina Dog Mauling: 2 Boys Attacked Dogs In Backyard.......

Newton North Carolina Dog Mauling
A Newton, North Carolina, dog mauling happened Sunday when a 6-year-old boy was viciously attacked by two Rottweilers, Fox News 8 reports.
The child suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center. WBTV News 3 reports that the dogs also attacked his 10-year-old brother. Prior to the 6-year-old being transferred to the medical center, he and his brother were taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center with severe injuries.
Officers removed the dogs from the home after the boys’ dog attack and placed them in quarantine at the Catawba County Animal Shelter.
As the reports reveal, the boys were at their mother’s boyfriend’s house when the North Carolina dog mauling occurred. The incident took place around 4 p.m. The boys’ mother was away at work at the time.
As reports indicate, the Rotweillers’ owner allowed them out of their kennels so they could be cleaned. The owner was inside temporarily and saw the dogs mauling the two boys when he returned. Authorities say the Newton man was able to move the children away from the dogs and into a parked car near the house. He also managed to get one of the dogs back inside its kennel and the other inside the house so he could dial 911 for help.
The two dogs will remain at Catawba Animal Shelter while the Newton Animal Shelter investigates what led to the dog mauling. Vaccination records will be looked into by police and try learning more about the circumstances behind the North Carolina dog mauling.
No other information on the 6-year-old and 10-year-old’s injuries have been released.
Officials have reportedly been to the man’s home before for animal violations, but it didn’t have anything to do with bad behavior of the dogs.
No charges were filed Sunday in the Newton, North Carolina, dog mauling.
