Microsoft banishes God from Christmas song
Creator on cutting-room floor for commercial

Microsoft decided to leave God on the cutting-room floor for a commercial featuring “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
Producers for the computer giant’s latest television commercial reshuffled lyrics to the popular song to avoid airing, “With God as our Father, brothers all are we. Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony."
The ad features Microsoft employees and members of a New York City choir singing just outside an Apple store.
“To celebrate the holidays, Microsoft employees, who were selected from across the country, gathered together, meeting each other for the first time at the new Microsoft 5th Ave Store to spread some holiday wishes,” a description of the video reads on YouTube. The ad has received over 1.5 million views since Dec. 1.
The Christian Post reported Tuesday that a “making of” video of the commercial does include God, meaning the Creator was edited out for television broadcasts.
The Blaze reached out to Microsoft for its coverage of the story on Tuesday, but did not receive comment.
“Let There be Peace on Earth” was written by Jill Jackson-Miller in 1955. Sy Miller, her husband, composed the melody.
