is no climate change I will go berserk...” - Labor Senator Doug Cameron. 100 fires over the state of New South Wales and at least 8 -9 ringing Sydney – they say we’ll be lucky if we lose 100 homes. All roads in and out of Sydney are basically shut. Power is down and people are locked down in schools and shopping centres. Then at 4pm this afternoon, the Rural Fire Service announced that they did not have enough fire trucks...there are burnt leaves landing on my balcony and I am 100 kilometres from the fires...
Areas are Blue Mountains, Central coast, Mid North coast ( Williamtown Airport was shut down ) Southern Highlands and Penrith and Camden area.
We had a 39c day last week, hottest ever October day recorded. If this is our spring, what will summer look like...?

The situation there was really sad. Even though I do not have friends and family residing in the affected areas, my heart still does go out to all the residents there. Yes, you should all indeed be very worried about summer which will definitely be a lot hotter than Spring. The authorities ought to do something about the situation and "insufficient firetrucks" shall not be accepted anymore. For those of you who have things in a storage facility, ensure that they are being insured.
