Where Is The Outrage?

How many wars of aggression has our country engaged in since WWII? Declared or not, people died. What was the rationale for going to war and how much resemblance did that have to the true reason? Our government lied to justify invading Iraq as one example. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were slaughtered in that war of aggression. Thousands of American lives were lost needlessly as well. Our young military men and women were desensitized to killing by the similarity to video games and took out journalists, photographers, Iraqi civilians, including children as though it were one of their video games and they were scoring points. And when someone like Bradley Manning exposes those war crimes, instead of the perpetrators being held accountable, he is incarcerated and held unconstitutionally for months and then years in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. The United Nations has declared that as torture. In my opinion, he should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In addition to that, when elements of our government found a conscience and exposed the lies that took us to war, they were vilified and their careers destroyed. Two examples that come to mind were Joe Wilson and his wife, Valorie Plame. How many of the people she worked with around the world were arrested or killed because Dick Chaney outed her as a CIA operative? That was a treasonous offense but instead of going after him, they offered up Scooter Libbey who takes the fall and is then granted immunity by Baby Bush. Where is the outrage from the American people?
Since that time, the NSA has taken it upon themselves to spy on every aspect of our lives just because they have the means to and of course, 9/11 gave them the perfect excuse to do so. Problem/Reaction/Solution. Another man with a conscience finds the courage to out this to the American people. Now Edward Snowden is a man with no country. By the way, Congress gave their approval for this violation of the Bill of Rights and don't let them tell you otherwise when they come whining for your vote. So who's feet get held to the fire? The man who was courageous enough to let us know what further freedoms we've lost.
Elements of our government are doing these things every day. They are invading other countries or trying to start more wars of aggression, like with Iran a couple of years ago and with Syria last summer. This gives me hope as I witnessed for the first time in history a people saying "No! No more war." And our voice was heard. The same thing happened in the UK. This trend needs to continue. Every time the elite try to start another war in our name for the purpose of grabbing more of the world's wealth, we need to stand up and shout "NO!" They can't wage a war if no one agrees to fight it. Every time Congress tries to vote to allow the administration or elements of the alphabet agencies to stomp on our rights, we need to tell them en mass be prepared to pack up and go home, if you vote that way.
Every country needs to stay within it's own borders and leave other countries alone. And I would put the United States at the top of that list. Who is it that keeps the turmoil going in the world? Is it the average person who just wants to live in peace, work at a job they enjoy, raise their family and put a little money aside for retirement? It's a handful of narcissists who think because they hold most of the chips that gives them the right to decide how the world should be run. And they will continue to do these things as long as we allow it. As long as we blindly follow the corporate run media and believe the political B.S. they put out, as long as we allow ourselves to be dependent on them.
That's why it concerns me to see so many on the Welfare rolls. In our town of maybe 15,000, I see so many on Welfare. They don't look like there is anything wrong with them. I also see 'help wanted' signs all over town. Granted, they aren't the old wonderful manufacturing jobs like we used to have. But there is more honor in working to take care of yourself and your family than allowing the government to lull you into a false sense of security that your Welfare check and food stamps will always be there. Because I promise you, one day soon that limb you crawled out on to get your freebies will be cut off behind you. And then you will have no safety net. What will you do then, riot? That's exactly what the elite want. Then you will have given them the perfect reason to declare martial law and take away the few freedoms you still have.
The area I live in is one of the most economically depressed counties in my state. I was working at a minimum wage job after losing the wonderful manufacturing job I'd held for 27 years. Two years of college only increased my wages by $2.00 over minimum. Instead of going on Welfare, which I was eligible for, I searched out a job that paid double the minimum wage. It wasn't easy, but I kept looking and asking questions. If I can do that at past retirement age, I'm pretty sure most people can do the same. I am not anyone special. But I have more pride than to sit back and collect the table scraps from the massah. If, at some point, I become physically unable to work, that is beyond my control. But otherwise, I see no excuse to be on the Welfare rolls.
Ask yourself why this administration was encouraging people to sign up for Welfare. Ask why they were so hot to embrace all the illegal aliens already here and refused to do common sense things like secure our borders. Do you seriously believe it was because they cared about all those families who would be torn apart if the parents had to leave and the children born here were allowed to stay? Right! First of all, hand out enough lollipops and those grateful people will vote for you. Secondly, you have a lot more people fighting for jobs instead of paying attention to how the elite are running the country. That will bring us to our economic knees faster, which is their goal.
What if we had an election and no one showed up? Everyone wants to complain about how badly the country is being run, but when it comes time for the next election, the majority of the people who vote, trot right off and reelect the same people who have already run this country into a third world status. Why would you continue to reelect them? Either like Gerald Celente says, "Stay Home - Don't vote." Or find the time to research voting records of those running for office and have the courage to vote for the best person for the job, no matter what the political party is. I have voted for Ralph Nader and Ross Perot. Either of those men would have done a far better job of running this country than what we've had. I don't consider that as 'throwing my vote away' as the political bosses try to tell you. I'm not about to vote for the 'lesser of two evils'. Because you can be sure if both candidates got the nod from the party bosses, they're both corrupt.
You don't think that most of Congress is corrupt? Ask yourself who allowed the corporations to leave our shores and profit from it? For the most part, those same people keep getting voted back into office, term after term. No wonder they consider themselves untouchable. It's no wonder they keep doing things that impact badly on Americans. They don't care. They know the majority of Americans were raised in households that were staunchly Democrat or Republican. Most will vote the party line because it's what they've always done.
Learn critical thinking. Don't take any politicians word for anything. Don't vote for the party. Both are corrupt to the hilt. When they come begging for your vote, ask them some hard questions. Ask them how they voted on issues that are important to you. But don't just take their word for it. Do your homework.
What would happen if the vast majority of people would vote for someone who ran as a Libertarian or a Constitutionalist? You can bet you'd see a move to restore our Constitutional rights. None of that is going to happen as long as the majority of us are happy to just get by on the Welfare teat, afraid to rock the boat politically, afraid to stick our necks out. And none of that will happen as long as we have only two parties playing musical chairs very election.
What is it going to take to wake America up? Total gun confiscation? That just might do it. Look for that move this year.
