Dear Thrive Movement, When THRIVE came out it was controversial to acknowledge that all our phone records and emails were being collected. Now, just two years later, thanks to Edward Snowden and others, the awareness about domestic surveillance is commonplace. But what's it all for? How do the dots connect among the various technologies, and with a larger agenda? And what can we do about it? This week, I put many pieces of the puzzle together so that we can get a big picture of the current state of surveillance and also some of the ingenious work-arounds people have invented to protect our hard-won privacy.
