This is true, however there are
really 3 things to check, because the
https can actually be gamed
somewhat. The 3 things to always check are:
1. The HTTPS, as noted.
2. A “golden padlock” image will be at the right of the web
address box somewhere near the “refresh” button
.. meaning “locked site”!
3.
And one must check the actual
address in the web address box,
because it could be a nicely
re-routed address to – “ https://www.nigeriacrooks.com “
caused by a “re-route virus” on a Citibank server, for example.
