There is a popular
misconception that the drug war is some sort of failed moral crusade, in which
the government is fighting a loosing battle against substances that society has
deemed to be dangerous.theintelhub.com

However, like almost all government programs and initiatives, the drug war is scam and has completely different goals than the ones that are stated for public consumption.
In reality, those involved with government have no moral aversion whatsoever, to drugs or the drug trade, this is just the propaganda that is put forward to justify the drug war racket.
In fact, many politicians and high ranking military
members are heavily involved in the drug trade, be it for personal gain or
simply to follow orders as the soldiers who guard the afghan poppy fields routinely do.
As i have detailed in
much of my writing, politicians are many times closet drug kingpins, who make a
tremendous amount of money using their position to get away with the kind of things
that most people would get locked up for.One of the most recent examples of this involves a South Texas county commissioner who was busted in a drug cartel-related money laundering investigation.
This was actually one of the rare cases where the culprit was met with the same sort of consequences that your average citizen would be, and just this week he was denied bail, which, if found guilty, could leave him behind bars for up to 20 years.
According to the SF Gate:
“A federal magistrate in Del Rio on Tuesday ruled Maverick
County Commissioner Rodolfo “Rudy” Heredia and David Gelacio of Eagle Pass must remain in custody.
A detention hearing has been scheduled Friday for Jose Luis Aguilar of Eagle Pass.
Federal prosecutors last
week announced the trio’s arrest on money laundering and cash
smuggling charges.Authorities have said the case involves a 2011 trip to Mexico and an alleged deal with a known Zeta drug cartel associate.
An indictment says Heredia sold a pickup and had two associates smuggle the $13,000 paid to him back to the U.S.”
War is about gaining control and distribution of various natural resources, and the drug war is no different.
Drugs are a very important and very profitable natural resource, just one that is dealt with more covertly than oil or mineral resources.
