Braking, ground shacking boom near Litlington South Cambridge area UK around 11:30 am GMT

I was awoken in an instant this morning, sunday 16th june 2013, by a extremely loud, ground shaking boom, it was loud enough to wake from from a deep sleep, so loud i thought my front doom was being smaked in. i quickly got out of bed to go outside where upon i found my neighbour outside in his garden.

He said it was a extremely loud Booming sound, like an explosion; that shook the ground!

I the i live is a rural english countryside near a small town: town being about 4 miles away.

There is a army barracks for new recruits to train about 2 miles away from my house, at certain times you can hear them training with their guns (little pops) of gunfire sounding in the distance but nothing loud and booming EVER and i have lived here since 1996. so used  to the sound that come from that barracks. we also get helicopters flying low over the village which are loud but helicopter sound is constant which you can hear coming an going.

Anyway, I have never heard a sound like this; so loud in this area. As far the booming ground shacking sound/blast happened once around 11:30 am GMT this morning, and hasn't happened again.

I have no other information yet and no idea if anything else will occur.

A very odd happening and totally unexpected for quiet rural England.

Will keep my ears out for more information.
