We
humans do have our favorite obsessions, don't we?
The
latest iPhone. Chocolate. Sports. Facebook. Starbucks. YouTube.
And
the favorite obsession of many? Watching celebrities!
Some
people can't survive their day without knowing who Kim Kardashian is dating
this week, who went into rehab, why Lindsay Lohan got arrested this time or
if Kristen Stewart is truly sorry for cheating on Robert Pattinson.
Now,
when it comes to stars, not only do we love to watch their every move, but
we also love to imitate them as well.
And
nowhere is this more obvious than in the area of celebrity diet fads.
If
a celebrity endorsed it, I swear people would eat used cat litter or drink
motor oil if they thought it would make them Iose weight.
The latest celebrity
diet craze
Thankfully,
the latest celebrity diet craze doesn't involve Tidy Cat or Quaker
State.
Instead
it's about fruits and vegetables.
It's
juicing.
Celebrities
like Jennifer Aniston, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica
Parker have been drinking fruits and vegetables with the intention of
purifying their bodies (aka losing pounds or at least maintaining).
And
many people have been following suit, hoping to drink their way to a
slimmer existence and rock a pair of jeans like Jen or SJP.
While
juicing is good and healthful, alas, as Master Yoda would say, there is
also a dark side, Luke Skywalker.
The dark side of juicing
First
and foremost, juices definitely contain nutrients -- that cannot be argued
-- and if you want to incorporate them here and there as one of your
"five a day," that's fine.
But
they DON'T replace whole foods.
You
see, it's true that with juices you're getting the vitamins, minerals and
antioxidants from the fruits and vegetables, which is terrific.
But,
in the case of fruits especially, you're also getting sugar -- in a FAR
more concentrated dose per serving than you would get by eating a whole
fruit.
Let's
take a simple example of orange juice versus an orange:
A
one-cup serving of orange juice has about 125 calories and 29.5 grams of
sugar.
A
fresh orange? It has only 62 calories and 12.2 grams of sugar.
See
the vast difference?
Plus,
with juicing you're also lacking the fiber found in whole foods. Fiber not
only helps keep you "regular," but it fills you up as well.
So
that means you'll not only consume fewer calories with the whole food
instead of the juice, but you'll also feel fuller and satisfied longer.
Now
THAT sounds like a better way to take off pounds to me!
But wait! There's more
Feeling
hungry again soon is not the only down side of not getting the fiber from
whole foods.
If
you rely heavily on juices, you could be looking at some serious
constipation because your body doesn't have the fiber it needs to keep your
bowels "moving along."
Plus,
fiber also helps your body "sweep away" old hormones, toxins and
excess cholesterol.
So
without it you can run the risk of discarded hormones being reabsorbed into
your bloodstream (and increasing your risk of hormone-dependent cancers),
toxins getting into your bloodstream and causing pain and inflammation, and
the BIGGIE that everyone's worried about...
Elevated
blood cholesterol!
Get thee to a wiggery
Some
people take juicing to a whole new level...and even have juice
"fasts" for a day, a week or even several weeks.
Ahhh,
just think of how many dress sizes you can drop FAST!
Relying
on nothing but fruit and vegetable juices does provide some nutrients, but
not nearly what your body needs to SURVIVE...or look good.
While
you may get certain vitamins and minerals, you'll also be severely lacking
in protein, calcium, Vitamin D and essential fatty acids, among other
things.
And
that can make your hair fall out, your skin dry out, your face break out
and your teeth rot (in the case of too much fruit juice).
Hmmm...Methinks
that's NOT the look that you, Jen, Gwyneth, Salma or Sarah are going for.
The smart way to take
off pounds and cleanse
Whether
you're looking to lose pounds or just "cleanse your innards," the
best way to go about it is NOT to exist only on juices but to eat real
whole foods and make sure your digestion is efficient.
Here's
the scoop on both of those:
Eat REAL foods
At
least half and preferably 70-80% of what you eat should be real foods.
Real
foods include fresh fruits, raw or lightly cooked vegetables, lean meats
and poultry, fish, whole grains, dairy and essential fats.
When
you eat real foods like these, your body gets nourished the way it needs to
be.
And
when you're nourished, these wonderful things happen:
- You get full faster and end
up eating less overall.
- The foods you're eating are
inherently lower in calories than pizza, burgers, fries, chips or whatever
other nutritionally dead foods you may have eaten in the past.
- Because you're properly
nourished, you'll also STAY full and satisfied longer, so your chances of
binging or late night snacking have just been slashed.
All
of this means: You get lean and stay lean!
Plus,
the natural water content in whole fruits and vegetables helps sweep away
wastes from your cells.
Make your digestion efficient
If
your foods are not being broken down like they should be, you're not
getting the maximum nutrition from them. And that causes feelings of hunger
which leads to overeating (and weight gain).
In
addition, when your digestion is poor, you'll get waste buildup in your
colon which can cause harmful bacteria overgrowth, it weakens your immune
system and it bumps up that number on the scale.
It
can also cause constipation, gas, bloating and eventually diverticulosis.
Accomplishing
good digestion is easy -- it's just is a matter of eating foods that digest
well together, and giving your body a little assistance if needed.
I
can help you with both of those.

combinations of foods:

2- A little digestive
"help":
Many
people who have had a typical hard-to-digest diet all their lives may be
dangerously low in digestive enzymes. That means poor digestion and an
invitation for weight gain.
Plus
some people "fall off the wagon" now and then and eat some foods
they know aren't healthy or won't digest well...so they need a little
digestive "help" during moments of weakness.
The
help you need is right here--with Digestizol Max.
Digestizol Max
helps your body break down whatever you've eaten--proteins, fats, carbs,
fiber--and conserves your precious enzyme supply.
This
will help keep your digestion running smoothly, even if you're low in
enzymes or you massively mess up with your food choices.

Remember,
when it comes to taking off pounds and keeping yourself clean on the

When
you give your body the food it's designed to have, plus a little help here
and there, you'll reap the benefits on the scale as well as enjoy optimal
health from head to toe.
To
your health,

PS: Joyce's life has
changed...and she's down 5 pounds without trying!
Sherry,
I am a 63 year old woman in
good health, except for the abdominal discomfort I have suffered the past
11 years. I have gone to different doctors and none were able to make an
accurate diagnosis.
The pain came usually after
meals, sometimes acute. I told this to each doctor I saw. I told them how I
was always tired: no energy, no motivation, no enthusiasm, just this
constant discomfort. I had CT scans, sonograms, and a colonoscopy which
showed diverticulum.
I started following a
diverticulosis diet...more fiber but no seeds, nuts, etc. If it was helping
me, it wasn't noticeable.
Occasionally I'd have days
when I felt good, but rarely did I feel 'normal.' I gave up going to
doctors because it was always the same line. I was prescribed Protonix and
threw the prescription away. I had no intention of taking drugs for a
problem they couldn't even diagnose.
Two weeks ago I had an acute
attack of diverticulitis which caused a fever and severe abdominal pain. I
was on 2 antibiotics which played havoc with my system, though they did
knock the infection out. But that was the last straw. I went on-line and
began looking for something to help me adjust my lifestyle to accommodate
diverticulosis.
Sherry, finding
your website
was truly heaven-sent. It lit
up for me the way a lot of other information didn't. The idea of food
combining made sense and I tried it immediately.
Following your plan, the
results were also immediate. I felt 'great' for the first time in years. I
had no pain after eating but the best part was the new found energy I had.
I shampooed the carpets in my house, a task I'd put off for 2 years!
People commented on how much
better I looked, with a healthy glow to my skin. It was just because I felt
so damn relieved I was feeling good again.
I have dropped 5 pounds. This
program is the best thing in nutrition I've ever seen.
Thank you so much for the work
you've done to bring this information out. I am telling everyone about this
program because I am so enthused about following such a simple plan which
brings such great and immediate results.
Thank you, thank you for this
life changing information.
Joyce
