House Spending Bill Defunds Obamacare

The 230-189 vote, is the precursor to the big action next week when the Senate is expected to strip out the health care provisions and send the bill back to the House.

Today, the House passed a spending bill keeping the government in business until December 15th, of this year, effectively defending Obamacare.
As of September 30th, 2013, the house budget ends and bills come due. Republicans decided that the Affordable Care Act would be a way to keep the government-funded without raising the debt ceiling.
Republicans also attached two amendments, one to direct how government spending is prioritized in the event the Treasury Department bumps up against its debt limit, and another that strips out funding for the health care law which would effectively stop it, according to The Washington Times.[1]
Surprisingly, Speaker Boehner said, “The American people don’t want the government shut down, and they don’t want Obamacare”.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said, “Either you don’t know what you’re doing or this is one of the most intentional acts of brutality you’ve cooked up”. Party lines seemed to be almost completely split over defunding Obamacare, as if allowing the government to default would be a better option.
Once again it becomes more and more apparent that we are moving closer and closer to a collapse. Although we have had government shutdowns in the past, our National Debt is skyrocketing, there is volatility in the bond markets and almost half of the nation is on government handouts.  A government shutdown during this climate could lead to unsuspected consequences.

It's a joke that's what it is. Nothing ever changes and timelines come and go like water under the bridge.
