Texas Politician Says State is Preparing to Become ‘Independent Nation’ In Case Union ‘Falls Apart’

A Texas politician, who is running to be the state’s next Attorney General, said this week his state is actively preparing to secede from the union and become an “independent nation” if the U.S. “falls apart.”
Barry Smitherman, currently the Texas Railroad Commissioner, made the comments in an interview published in World Net Daily (WND) on Monday.
“Generally speaking, we have made great progress in becoming an independent nation, an ‘island nation’ if you will, and I think we want to continue down that path so that if the rest of the country falls apart, Texas can operate as a stand-alone entity with energy, food, water and roads as if we were a closed-loop system,” Smitherman said.

He added that the state is “uniquely situated because we have energy resources, fossil and otherwise, and our own independent electrical grid.”
“This was one of my goals at the Utility Commission and it is one my goals currently as chairman of the Railroad Commission,” Smitherman said. “That’s why I stress so vehemently oil and gas production, permitting turnaround times, and everything that enables the industry to produce as much as it can, as quickly as it can.”
Smitherman added in the interview that Texas has “been very strong leading in the charge agains the Obama administration.”
The comments made by Smitherman have since been seized upon by liberal groups. Think Progress published an article covering his remarks on Friday.
Individuals commenting on the Think Progress article appeared happy over the thought of Texas seceding.
“Good. If Texas secedes, the nation will be better and Texas can enjoy it’s sand and heat until the next hurricane hits the gulf, or the next firestorm, or the next tornado — with no help available,” wrote commenter Marie Harris.
“Texas secession would guarantee no Republican is ever elected to the Presidency,” wrote Roger Landes.
“don’t let the door hit ya….” commented Patrick D Brumm.

Texas We The People, as well as in other states, Confront your Congress man and Senator and ask them; “Are you my representative for; the Republic of the united States of America, or for THE UNITED STATES, INC.?”
It may be best to have this in writing and 2 different options to check off, so once they sign for the corporation then notify them that they will be placed under arrest once you get the lawful warrant!
If they check off for the Republic then ask them why the IRS exists and you are paying the income tax to support the corporation, so therefore they committed Fraud by their signature and you will get the lawful warrant for their arrest!

This is a great concept!

....Without Texas, the fragile complex now known as the United States would become much more vulnerable to worldwide pressures act responsibly.

....Something most of the parasites in this country need to learn about!

The people of Texas might well be interested in how the republic of Texas became a 'state' and how Texas became a 'corporation'. Also the story that Texas is attached to the corporation in DC by a TREATY that maintains the state association of Texas to the 'federal government' is renewed by signature of the Texas Governor approximately each 4 years. This changes the entire perspective of the relationship between the entity referred to as 'Texas' and the people of Texas. The question to be researched and proven here is what benefit does Texas receive by being under the mafia thumb of the criminal cabal operating in Washington, DC? Texas ia a sovereign nation and does not need to be associated with Wash DC. Texas would do far better to return to its organic Republic and assume full responsibility for its own people, common law, land, water, minerals, defense, government, etc. Texas can decide whether to join and/or support other 'states' as the situation may call for. Anyone who can provide the legal references to validate or disprove any of the above would be appreciated.
