John,
I am a Wells Fargo customer.
Recently I transferred $100
into my Savings acct. And Wells Fargo charged a fee of $35 for transferring the
$100 into my savings account. I called customer service and told them to refund
my account. They refused.
Two weeks ago I was late on an equity line of credit
acct. At WF so they went into my acct. And withdrew $260. This caused overdraft
fees in the amt. Of $150.00. I called th WF Equity line of credit people and
told them to put the money back into my account. They refused. They said there
is a clause in my agreement with them that says they can deduct funds from my
account. A week after the fact I received a letter in the mail stating they had
deducted the $260 from my account.
Beware of WF...and their account practices.
I look forward to the financial blessing we are about to
receive but dread doing business with WF.
Long term I do not plan to stay with them because of the money grubbing
practices I have experienced with them.
Sincerely, -S-

Thanks for the heads up on WF. We won't be dealing with them either. WF SUCKS!!
AGREE...SO WHY DO BUSINESS WITH WF AT ALL?
THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE PAST.
A LEOPARD DOES NOT CHANGE ITS SPOTS...
WF WILL ONLY ROB MORE FROM YOU - the ultimate WOLF - BEWARE!
B OF A - "sadly" is NO BETTER...
CHASE - THE LESSER OF 3 EVILS...but still not good either : (
I HAD WF A FEW YEARS AGO. THEY CHARGED ME $35 FOR A $5.00 OVER DRAFT...THEN THEY CHARGED ME A .99 CENT PROCESSING FEE, AND THEN CHARGED $35 FOR THAT .99 CENT OVERDRAFT, THEN THEY CHARGED ANOTHER $35 OVERTRAFT, THEN ANOTHER .99 CENT PROCESSING FEE... AND ANOTHER $35 ....THEN THEY CHARGED ANOTER .99 CENT PROCESSING FEE FOR THAT, AND THEN ANOTHER $35 OVERDRAFT FEE, THEN CHARGED ME ANOTHER .99CENT .PROCESSING FEE AND ANOTHER $35. OVERDRAFT.....THEY WERE DELIBERATELY OVERDRAWING MY ACCOUNT WITN .99 CENT PROCESSING FEES, AND CHARGING $35 EVERY TIME THEY DID IT....LIKE A "REPEATING DECIMAL" AND THEY RANG UP CLOSE TO $300 BEFORE I CAUGHT IT... AND THEY EMPTIED MY OTHER ACCOUNT AS WELL, THAT HAD ABOUT $400 IN IT...
I spoke to five WF employees (within 36 hours) and got five different answers regarding the criteria for keeping my account open because they started screwing around with my account. I had taken down the names of those I had spoken with so when someone else gave me a different answer, I told them what so and so had told me and they were surprised by what the others had said. I said I couldn't trust any of them and right then and there, I cashed out. I went home and called the WF 800 number to ask about the criteria for opening an account. For someone who was put in place to sign up new clients, he was so unbelievably rude. I told him he needed a corrective interview on his job performance, thanked him and hung up.
If I do CE with them, my money is coming out ASAP. Banksters...the lot of them.
Can anyone comment on 5th Third Bank?
I would draw up a document in the presence of my banker manager (from any bank)
saying that they would not use any of my $$$ for their purposes without checking with me and get them to sign it and notorize it or I would walk out with my IQN. If they want to do business with me, screw em!!

I had a check drawn on Wells Fargo from my employer. I went in to cash it and they would not unless I gave my thumbprint saying it was a Patriot Act requirement.
I bank at a credit union around the corner and a thumbprint is not a requirement.
I spoke to many people and all followed the same line. A woman even gave me a business card and a print out of their requirement to have a thumb print but it didn't mention Patriot Act. (yeah I was offered to open an account, I didn't want an account.)
My credit union honored the check. I would NEVER give Wells Fargo anything, including my private property, thumbprint.
That's not real news. They are ALL like that. I have had accounts with Wells Fargo, Wachovia (now Wells F), BOA, and Fifth Third. All I can say is they are ALL cut from the same cloth, so you can expect what it will be like to do business with them. Out of all 3 I think 5/3rd was a wee bit better, but not much.
Hmmmmmmmmm!!! I figured out about 10 years ago that I was going to get OUT of ANY bank!!! I haven't had a bank account now for over 10 years...and ever since I started collecting my retirement funds I withdraw almost the ENTIRE amount in CASH...EVERY month, and SAVE as much as I can...Hasn't anyone figured out yet that bankers are the people you NEED to stop doing business with???
HELLO ALL....
FIRST OFF WHY DO MOST OF YOU KEEP LOOKING AT ....B A N K S??...... THE GOV CAN BREAK INTO THEM AND WIPE OUT YOUR ACCOUNT....NOT SO WITH COMMUNITY CREDIT UNIONS.... DO NOT GO TO A FEDERAL CREDIT UNION AS THEY ARE ON THE SAME SYSTEM AS THE BANKS....COMMUNITY CREDIT UNIONS ARE ON A DIFFERENT SYSTEM AND ARE ABOUT AS SAFE AS YOU CAN GET,,, THEY WILL LET YOU PUT IS AS MUCH AS YOU WANT AND HAVE BETTER PROTECTION..........N O W .....IF YOU LIVE IN NORTH DAKOTA GO TO THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE BANK.....THE ONLY WAY THE BANK WILL FAIL IS BY THE WHOLE STATE GOING UNDER AND I HIGHLY DOUBT IT WITH THE BAKKENS OIL FIELDS BEING THERE.... FORGET THE BANKS ESPECIALLY WELLS FAGO...
I pray the RV does NOT take place until AFTER the mass arrests! Otherwise you get what's coming to you for doing business with criminals!
IF YOU HAVE A CREDIT UNION YOU CAN DO THE EXCHANGE WITH ITS BETTER THAN A BANK B ECAUSE THE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR CREDIT UNIONS ARE NOT AS STRINGENT AS THE Y ARE FOR BANKS. WELLS FARGO HAVE ALWAYS BEEN EFFFING CROOKS. WATCH YOUR MONEY FOLKS , LEARN TO SAY NO TO SCAMMERS. THEY WILL COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK LIKE FLIES ON S * * T.
